Chapter Four

Since The Last Time

A/N – First I want to apologize for a little delay in delivering chapters to you. Still arranging my thoughts and have a little more going on than usual in my life. I hope to get back to a regular routine soon. For all of you it is always good to see a good family party with as always, the new twists. I think you can tell that both Jack is getting older and Lilly has had some added challenges. The Tim storyline has been on my mind and I will touch on it from time to time. My focus will be on the family handling Jack and Lilly as the story progresses. I am going to take a little detour and take a chapter to give some more details for each one of our main characters as to what happened since the first story ended. I am hoping that you enjoy it as it will not only plug a gap but also give some foundation on the continuing story of the family. I am actually looking forward to bridging the gap in time. Please continue to let me know how I am doing. Mild Mature Content – Enjoy!

RR (Reader Reviews Responses) – I have continued to receive review from readers I can't respond to, so I would like to respond here moving forward. Paul, I appreciate your comments and insights, and just to let you know, I think your request should be met in my next chapter. Great minds think alike. M Taiawa, thanks for another review and your kind words. THANKS!

Ty and Amy – This power couple has continued to build their business and careers, along with guiding their children all while being more in love than ever. Everyone around them continued to learn from their expertise in what they did and from the love they shared. The kids, now older, continued to gain respect for their parents capabilities but more importantly the love they continued to outwardly share. The gleamed with pride when friends and other family would tell them how lucky they were to have supportive and loving parents. There were still those awkward moments but for the most part they understood them and actually felt warm inside when they occurred. Amy had helped several up and coming horse healers over the last 5 years. Annie and Katie's skills continued to grow but Lyndy still showed the most capability, which made her mom very proud. Wyatt, Haley, Rusty and even Maddie, who had showed some interest, continued to grow as well. Working with Georgie, they determined where each person was skill wise and assigned horses based on the level they were at. With the Rehoming Center in full swing, the number of horses to work on continued to grow so the help was needed. Ellory still oversaw the training at the Rehoming Center but the kids and a lot of their friends were always there to help wherever they were needed. Ty still overseeing the vet team with Scott, he was also excited as Wyatt was in Vet School and apprenticing with the team, especially him and Scott. Wyatt made sure that he spent time with all of the vets and the school recognized his work as the ultimate clinical experience. Ty met with him often to discuss what he was learning and if he had any questions. Amy and Ty were so excited that he decided to become a vet and were anxious to add him to the team. Several of the kids friends, kids from the troubled youth program and other ranch hands also sought her advice. Amy had also received even more notoriety throughout North America and even in Europe. Their clinics had been requested throughout the world but she was very selective as home was always where she wanted to be. Along with Ty she had made a couple for trips to France at the request of some of Lisa's business associates families to conduct clinics where she displayed her healing processes and Ty presented some of the innovative surgical techniques they had developed. They were such a hit that they were coaxed to stay almost three weeks and approached by a group of investors to set up an Equine Center there as well. They were interested but would obviously have to take it up with the Board to set their expectations. They saw the opportunity to grow the business but more important use the family legacy to help more horses. On a more personal note one thing they also tried to do was to have at least one date night a month, just for the two of them. This was in addition to any trips they made both locally and overnight. They made these dates special and all about them. As more of the work was being moved to others they found the time to work on higher level things like innovative techniques that combined the medical approaches to care with the herbal remedies. They had slowly began moving more and more of their effort to minimize the use of medicine, augmenting them with herbal and oil based remedies. In the beginning they received some negative feedback from the Canadian Veterinary Association but thanks to the backing of the team at the University of Calgary as well as many clients and other vet clinics they seemed to be winning the battle. They firmly believed and had proven that a horse could heal quicker if more natural methods were incorporated and the results were documented and shared. Scott and the rest of the vet team also began using this approach with other animals and were seeing great results. This approached was noted by many in the veterinary world and the list of visiting vets grew as everyone wanted to see it. With help from Dr. Ellie's husband Nick they were able to digitize the results that had become a part of the virtual Journal Library at the ranch. Their online credibility grew as the information was share to the world. The future was bright for the company and for the Borden family as they all were involved in the continued growth of their legacy. And most importantly the love they had for each other was special and all thiers. A day never passed where they would pass each other and kiss or hug. When they were together they always held hands or had their arms around each other. To some it was a little too much but for those close to them it was just who they were. They still had dreams and goals in life and knew together they could achieve anything. Their love was absolute and timeless.

Lyndy Borden – As Lyndy had moved from high school to college she continued to show her parents that she was a gifted and driven young woman. She decided to get in to the Equine program and minored in business management. She wanted to continue to understand what she needed to be an exceptional horse healer like her mom, and also have the ability to provide strong support of the business side of the company. Her vision was clear as Wyatt was working toward his vet degree and she the horse healing side. She still taught a few classes a week at the dance studio and really enjoyed it. She had also taken on some show jumping students, focusing on young kids and helping them with the basics. If they got serious they moved up to Annie, Katie, Georgie and her mom. They were in big demand and gaining a lot of notoriety in the training world. Over their time in college, her and Wyatt continued to be a strong couple. There were a few challenging times but they had a rule, if they had a disagreement they both stepped back to have some time to think. After taking the amount of time needed they got back together stronger than ever. Lyndy loved Wyatt completely and she was always bragging about him to her classmates about the amazing vet he would become. She also spent time over the last five years helping her sisters maneuver through boy stuff. After Jeremy returned she sat with Annie and helped her decide what to do. He wanted to get back together but she was a little hesitant. After many long talks with Addie and Lyndy, she decided to get back with him and it ended up being a great decision. Lyndy still had an amazing connection with her mom. Ty would joke that there were times he took a back seat to their discussions. But deep down he knew that they needed each other and was so happy they were so close. As the twins neared high school graduation they both confided in her that they had decided to move forward with this relationships since they knew she had with Wyatt even earlier than them. The conversations were individual but she was amazed at how they both thought so much alike. She secretly confided with her mom and made sure they knew to be safe and 100% sure they were ready. She shared the scare they had and used it a lesson for them. Annie was in a good place with Jeremy, they were inseparable and both were mature and ready. Addie had to think about it. Lyndy took the time to make sure she gave each of them. Especially Addie support and a safe place to go if they needed it. Lyndy also made sure she made time for her GG and Lisa. Along with Wyatt they made sure they spent a lot of time visiting with them, always trying to learn as much as they could. She really liked talking to Lisa and gleaning experience from her vast business acumen. She was an amazing and successful business women and she never missed a chance to learn from her. Her time with Jack always focused around family and the heritage that she was determined to continue. He told her many times that she had the gift that was passed down and that she should take pride in it. But for her the most important thing that happened was when her parents approached them about rearranging their room to make a two room suite, adding a bathroom for them. It took Lyndy by surprise but when they talked with them she was ecstatic and elated over the idea. Her parents were amazing and she promised them that they would respect the privilege. In the back of her mind she was hoping that Wyatt would propose soon, so they could live in the house for a while and then find their own place close to home. Lyndy was so excited to graduate and poised to go full speed ahead on the rest of her life with the man she loved.

Wyatt Miller – As the years passed by Wyatt was still overwhelmed at times that the Borden family accepted and loved him. And most importantly, his love for Lyndy grew every day they were together. Even if they had a disagreement or a small tiff, he knew they would work it out and love each other even more. He spent a lot of time talking to Ty when they were having issues and he reminded him how tumultuous his relationship was with Amy in the early years. He had an amazing bond with his adopted father and their relationship was a strong as any father/son one could be. Beside the amazing family he was a part of his dream of being a vet was almost a reality. While in high school Ty helped him spend time with the vet team and he began to understand what it took to be a vet. Although he enjoyed horses he also like the diversity of all animals. He became the person who took care of Buster and Billie, making sure they were up to date on their shots and dealing with any minor issues. They had become the ranch dogs and pretty much roamed the place freely. Everyone knew them and they got a lot of hugs and cuddles from the staff. Being able to roam around also proved to be an issue as they as they got into things that were not the best for them. This was when, under one of the other vet's eyes, he would treat them and along with Lyndy nurse them back to health. Scott and Ty had talked often with Amy and they both were amazed at his ability to learn from them but more importantly how he handled animals in distress. Amy joked saying, "Hmm, seems like someone else I know." When he was accepted a in the Equine Program at the U of C he was elated and proud. He know having Ty and others in his corner was a plus but the admissions team assure him his grades and experience were more than enough to be accepted, in fact he also received some financial support through a partial scholarship. But the best case scenario for him came true as well. Due to his experience before and during college, he was going to graduate from the program in only 4 years, which ended up being what Ty did as well. After he graduated, he had to do an official 6 month clinical stint and Cass was going to be his sponsor. So he got to start at his job with the vet team and would be a DVM 6 months after he graduated. The dream of working together with Lyndy, just as Amy and Ty did early on was right in front of him and he couldn't be happier. During the past 5 years his bond with JT grew even stronger. JT was an amazingly smart child, his teachers noted and they continued to stretch him. He leaned on Wyatt just like a big brother and confided in him about his feelings and challenges. Although he was Ok with the team studying his case he still had moments of anxiety and Wyatt was the person he always went to, along with Ty. He was proud to be one of the three man of the family and made sure the three of them hung out a lot. But for him, the biggest thing on the forefront was a big step in his life with the one that he loved more than anything. Of course he leaned on JT and Ty for support and kept them in the loop on his plans. He was excited and nervous but in the end he was ready to take a step that would alter his life in an amazing way. A few weeks before the winter break in his last year of school he made sure Lyndy was gone, he met with Ty and Amy privately at Maggie's. He was nervous and finally spoke, "I would like to propose to your daughter and ask her to marry me. I already asked JT, but I need to have your blessing, so I hope I can have it." Amy and Ty were silent as they both teared up. There were no words but Amy leaned over and gave him a big hug. He laughed, "So, I guess that is a yes?" The both smiled tearily and gave him big smiles nodding their heads. Finally Amy spoke, "We get to plan a wedding!" Wyatt was so happy he was ready to burst. Now he had to prepare for the hard part.

Annie Borden – Annie was excited to be in college and her first semester was awesome. The journey through high school was also a lot of fun both socially and competitively. Her group of friends were strong and her jumping community group had also grown in size and scope. She competed all around western Canada and met a lot of other strong riders. She continued to hone her horse healing skills as Amy and others noted she had the gift. Along with her sister, they were able to graduate early in December since they each accumulated so many college and high school credits for their advance work. Education wise they had just completed their Freshmen year. Annie continued to exceed in math and science but actually she did well in all her subjects. She finished in the top 5% of her class and made dean's list her first full year in college. She still focused on the prerequisites early on but was ready to be more focused on her degree in the university's Equine program. It didn't hurt that she had a mom and dad that had been given adjunct professor positions and a sister and soon to be brother in law that were also in the program. She could graduate early but, along with her sister and under the advice of Lyndy, she planned to take a full four years. Lyndy told them both to take their time and enjoy the outside activities they had. Her show jumping skills were at a high level and midway through high school Georgie got her a chance to work out with the Olympic team and she did very well. The new coach of the team met with Amy, Lyndy, Katie and Georgie to discuss a path for her to take and he was certain she could qualify to make it to the Olympics like her cousin. After they met with him, Georgie called her in and they discussed her options to make sure she realized the commitment it would take. Annie was ecstatic and couldn't wait to tell the rest of the family but most of all Jeremy. Jeremy was back now and their relationship was strong as he was fully supportive and excited for her. For now he was in general studies trying to determine what he wanted to do and talked with her a lot about his options. She knew he wanted her opinion and she always took the time to talk to him. Their relationship flourished during the last two years of high school and now, after he joined her at university they were always together. Early on they lived in the dorms but Ty and Amy had invested in an apartment and the plan was that the twins would use it starting in their second year. With her parent's approval, Jeremy joined them in the apartment along with Camilla and Troy. It had 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms which was more than large enough. The other kids paid rent so it offset some of the cost for the Bordens, but it was not exorbitant. Desi visited periodically along with Abby and Bella so the posse was together. Her love for Jeremy had continued to grow. They had decided to take the next step in their relationship early in their senior year in high school, right after her birthday. Jeremy arranged a romantic weekend at the fishing cabin, with Amy and Ty's permission, where his plan was to give her a promise ring. Also, they were becoming more and more intimate and were ready to take the next step in their relationship. Annie spent some time talking to Lyndy to get advice and although she was nervous, she was ready. The weekend was perfect and the way he gave her the ring was something she would never forget. And making love with Jermey was also perfect as he was so patient and amazing and as Lyndy emphasized, they were safe. When they returned she ran to her mom and sisters to show off her ring, which was beautiful. Later on, privately with Lyndy, she talked about making love to the man of her dreams and Lyndy held her smiling, knowing the feeling. Amy knew what was planned but didn't intrude and Ty didn't give too much trouble to Jeremy, who he really liked. The couple were strong and Annie was excited to be in school with him working toward her dreams.

Addie Borden - Addie was a force to be reckoned with. During high school, along with her sister and friends she was at the top of her class both scholastically and socially. As they were ready to leave Hudson High though, devastation hit her and he relationship with Desi. They were very close and as she told her sister, he was a great kisser. About a month before school, his father told the family that they were moving to Saskatoon and both of them were devastated. The thought of being apart was overwhelming and both of them sought advice from others. They day he left, she cried for hours, so Lyndy, Maddie and Annie took her on an overnight ride, camping by the river. It helped her but the loss was still there. They texted and Facetimed every day but the distance was becoming to be a strain. The calls became less frequent and eventually they decided to just be friends and move on. It was difficult but showed the maturity they both had. They had been together as friends and more for almost 10 years. She relied on her family to help her. Lyndy and Amy spent as much time as they could with her to make sure she knew all of them were there for her. Through all of it her scholastic achievements were outstanding in math and her innate ability to mechanically figure everything out stood out. In high school she became a stellar student in all things technical and led several projects outside the school curriculum area. She teamed up with the school's maintenance team to ensure the busses were running efficiently and along with another students developed a way to convert one of the trucks to propane. But her technical abilities went beyond just vehicle and farm equipment and her shop teacher arranged and encouraged her to sit in on some mechanical engineering classes at the University. She loved it and was all in working hard to prepare and get accepted into the Engineering program at the University of Calgary. Amy would always joke that her skills were definitely not from her but from her dad and GG where were both mechanically inclined. At the ranch she had become the go to person to fix anything mechanical and of course was responsible for all of the older trucks and motorcycles the family owned. One day she was working on her dad's Norton and she felt someone in the doorway. When she looked she screamed and almost fainted. People came running thinking she may have been hurt but what they found was a familiar young man helping her to her feet and hugging her tightly. Not noticing anyone they kissed and laughed. She whispered, "Why are you here?" He smiled, "Well if you are Ok, I have moved back with my mom, it seems the move didn't sit well with her and my dad and her separated. Addie I hope that we can get back together, I have missed you so much." She was speechless, and just kissed him again as the others stepped away to give them some space. They talked for over an hour and decided to give it a try. The split had been hard and words were said that both of them regretted. They confessed that each had gone on a couple of dates but spent the time thinking of each other so nothing really panned out. After they reconciled and put the past behind they were inseparable. As she was accepted in the Engineering program Desi gained admission to the prestigious Haskayne School Of Business which was a part of the U of C but in a separate campus. He was into finance and they offered both undergrad and masters programs that were the highest rated in Canada. They each had a scholastic plan and personally they loved each other more than ever. For graduation, with Amy and Ty's permission he booked a room in the Banff Park Lodge for a weekend away. After talking with his mom, they parents said it was Ok as they realized that they were both responsible. The weekend away was perfect as they had both worked hard and had a tough college 4+ year curriculum in front of them. They ate, enjoyed the park and spent all of their time together. They had been intimate but had never made love. The night before they were leaving they had dinner and Desi gave her a beautiful necklace, showing how much he loved her. That night was filled with love as they enjoyed a much more intimate experience making love for the first time. They would each remember it as the perfect end to their weekend. Desi would remember how beautiful she was and how much he missed her. Addie would remember how gentle and considerate of her feelings he was and that he emphasized that they be double safe. They headed home and as soon as they pulled up to the ranch, Annie, who had sensed something, ran to her sister noticing the necklace and the look on her sister's face. No words were needed as Desi put his arm around them both as they went into the house. Addie smiled a lot that night as she sat next to the man of her dreams and contemplated their bright future.

Maddie Borden – The remainder of middle school was a whirlwind for Maddie as her personality along with how much she cared for others made her an exceptional student and young woman. Now in high school, she continued to focus on her family, friends and a certain boy who she really cared for. She continued to be a very strong student and had increased her interest in therapy and helping those with disabilities. Gwen, Caroline and her were inseparable and formed a pretty formidable team. She continued to volunteer with the schools therapy team and with a few organizations that helped those in need. The trio were seen all over the ranch, working at the rehoming center and at the Day Care. They babysat a lot and really enjoyed watching Beau Masters who like Gwen was a high functioning child with Downes Syndrome. He had bonded with her and joined the girls on rides and working with the horses. With Beth and Will's crazy schedules it really was a help for them and was greatly appreciated. Maddie would officially say that she has a boyfriend in Ricky. They shared so many traits and interest and he seemed to be able to "handle" the vivacious 16 year old. Amy and Ty would note that she seemed her calmest when he was around, which was quite a lot. He spent a lot of time at the ranch with Caleb, Rusty and the team and seemed to be a natural ranch hand and wrangler. His family had a cattle ranch and he had been on a horse since he was young and worked the herd with his dad and 4 brothers. It made Maddie smile to see how well he was accepted by the ranch hand team as he had been working part time after school and on the weekends. Maddie had also been a strong support person for many in the family, Jack and Lisa loved when she spent time with them. Georgie and Steven's kids thought she was a really cool aunt and always loved being with her, especially Nate who lit up every time she came around. For that matter, all of the family kids were fond of their aunt and it showed to her even more what she really wanted to do in life. She was fully focused on becoming an Occupational Therapist and work with younger children of all types. Amy and Ty saw it early and hoped one day she could run the Day Care, but with all of the children, their paths were their own to choose. Maddie also was the lead organizer of the annual newly named "Alberta Special Kids Rodeo." The notoriety had spread all over Alberta, Western Canada and the Northwest US. Every year they were overwhelmed with interest and a couple of years back made it a two day event. The entire staff at H.E.E. supported with an ample supply of volunteers. Maddie and Lou were over the entire event which now included lodging for many of the out of two guest. Jenn Stillman made sure she kept that weekend as clear as she could as the rooms were filled to the brim with competitors and their families. Not only did it help business but it showed the people what the entire company did. Another big surprise was the support they received from other businesses, including special needs organizations and community minded companies. Basically everything, except the volunteer time, was covered by donations and they had plenty of that. City and provincial political leaders engaged as well, but Maddie and Lou made sure it was for the right reason, not for gain in the polls. Justin threw in the weight of the government and Maryanne was a part of an advisory board that had been formed and they never missed it. Maddie loved her family and her friends. Her fondness for Ricky continued to mature and develop and continued to grow into young love. Interestingly he was extremely shy and Maddie was not but together they were open and honest with each other. She respected his decision of working on a ranch and was secretly excited he chose the Miracle Ranch and her. She loved how he let her be her, active and engaged in everything he did. She was driven and a risk taker and he was grounded and a good listener. Lyndy and Amy joked all the time that they were individually very different but perfect for each other. What impressed her the most was the respect and love he had for Gwen and her group of friends. She would look at him and marvel at how kind and inclusive he was, even teaching several of them to rope, which had become part of the Rodeo events. Maddie's outlook was always positive toward the future as a member of the best family ever from her perspective and also in love with an amazing young man.

JT Borden – In his final year of elementary school JT's journey had been full of a lot of accomplishments and a continuing challenge due to his special abilities. The team was still in place although several names had change Dr. Flanders and his favorite Nurse Sally were always there for him. They focused on making sure that he always felt normal and not like a test dummy. Some of the new members were not as understanding of the need and treated him like a patient not a person. JT was very perceptive but at times he still got a little upset and they were there along with his parents and Wyatt to help. His relationship with Wyatt had become one of the most important in his life. At times others felt like they were on the outside of the tight knit duo. Lyndy would say it was like they could feel each other's feelings like the twins. Addie even joked once that she could teach them the special language they used. JT and his grandma Lilly were still, as GG would say, "Thick as thieves." They talked often over the phone and when she was here they were together a lot. They would attend each other's appointments even though he knew at times she was struggling with her health. Her eyes lit up every time they were together but he was mature enough to know that there were days when the cancer was winning. He made it a point to be extra supportive when those days happened. Everyone was amazed at his love for her and how they supported each other. His dreams or as the study team called it, his encounters with his ancestors continued. But he noticed that as he got older his grandma and great grandma talked to him differently, more maturely. They seemed to understand that he could handle the more adult conversations. He still shared his conversations with family and for the most part kept it under control. His sleep was no longer affected and the study team had changed the format of his meetings to be more focused on the actual interactions he had. JT, Trent, Shawna were also as close as ever. They spent a lot of time together and even though she was a grade below him she was only 6 months younger and he had begun confiding in her more, sharing his feelings. He liked her a lot and looked forward to her opinions. His friendship for her had changed but his friendship with Trent was even stronger. For the last few months or so, along with Shawna, they had a feeling that something was bothering him and privately they made it their mission to find out. The three of them really enjoyed hanging out with the new addition to their family, Lexi, who was cute and cuddly. She was getting her personality and the three of them loved her a lot. It was fun to have a baby in the ranks and they took pride in helping Mallory and Doug with her. He also had been showing some interest in spending more time with horses. He could be seen watching his sisters, aunts and moms often and from time to time working with horses and they would let him help. He also spent time with Wyatt when he was working at the Equine Center clinic. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do so he figured the more he experienced the things he like the easier it may be. His teaching team were still very impressed with his academics, as in some cases he was a year younger than his classmates. They reveled at his maturity and poise, at times much more evident than kids much older than him. His grades were very good and he prided himself in school and personal accomplishments. Amy and Ty along with Wyatt and Lyndy kept in touch with the team at school and the hospital, always making sure they knew how he was doing. Although pretty open, he sometimes held things from them as to not be a bother. But most significantly was his bond with Lilly and Jack meant a lot to him. He knew from his chats with Grandma Marion and Great Grandma Lyndy that they were both sick and he never missed a moment to spend with them. When he would hear something that alarmed him he would tell his parents, Lyndy or Wyatt so they would know. The four of them marveled at his composure and never took anything he mentioned lightly. He was a special young man and over the last years he had loved his life and his family. He knew they would always be there for him, and he promised to be there for them.

Family and Business – The immediate and extended family grew not only in number but in quality of life over time. Several new members had arrived and as always, babies were celebrated. Birthdays, anniversaries and a wedding or two were also in the mix and enjoyed by everyone. The Bordens were loving life, even with its challenges and struggles. As always they were all there for each other to face the hard times and celebrate the good. The core family, consisting of the Bartletts, Stillmans, Cardinals, Webers, Fosters and Flemings were a powerful group of individuals who were exceptional in what they did. But they were also there for each other no matter what was needed and the love they shared was everything to them. Extended family and friends were also integral in the entire family dynamic and why many believed the company and its individual parts were so successful. Employees of the different operations were also accepted in the family atmosphere as many were still with the company, especially since they had a stake in the company through the benefit program offered. The business continued a more controlled, steady growth. With the Rehoming Center and Llama herd under them, the Miracle Ranch controlled about 75% of the Operating Income and 80% of the profits, which was mainly driven by the horses that Amy and the training team worked with along with the vet teams increase scope of work. Business was growing but only to a level that the Board felt they could handle it. It was always about quality not quantity with them and the results proved that. The Rehoming Center was pulling a little profit, even after all of the expenses were covered and the Llama herd was producing 3 sheerings a year that covered the feed and minor maintenance needed. Llama fur was not as profitable as Alpaca fur but the herd was loved and well taken care of. Population was controlled by donating some of them to Zoos, and other places that wanted them, including people who had farms as they were a source of fun for children. Maggie's continued to be strong in not only profits but reputation. An opportunity came to purchase the small space next to it so they expanded the seating and kitchen area along with the catering business. Jenn Stillman continued to do a great job with lodging needs through the Dude Ranch and Fairfield. Ben continued to oversee the Fairfield/Briar Ridge operation and had several people helping him running both facilities, continuing to align their work. All of the vet facilities were doing well and the vet team was a strong as ever. Their innovative and state of the work they had accomplished was recognized all over Canada and beyond. As planned, Heartland had become more of a place to call home for the entire family. Jack and Lisa had moved to a small cottage as Lou and Scott moved upstairs at the Heartland Ranch. The Webers moved into the main part of the ranch house and Katie and Clay took their kids to live in the loft apartment. It was truly the homestead it had always been. Through all of this the Board continued to oversee the operation, meeting as needed when big decisions were needed to be made. Jack and Lisa had decided to step away and just be there for advice and at the next meeting a new Chairman would be appointed. Quietly it was determined that Lou, with her financial and business background would be appointed the Chairman and they would add Katie, Clay, Lyndy and Wyatt as full Board partners. The other adjunct members would remain to include newly recognized Mallory and Soraya. Mallory's role would expand as well as she would begin taking some of the CFO responsibilities from Lou. Max's daughter. Helena, had begun to help with the legal work, and eventually would take it over when Max stepped away, although like Jack and Lisa he would keep his hand in things. Soraya and Dillon were increasing their work for the company in employee assistance roles as therapist. The organization was sound and set up for a successful future. The family was also more than stable and if needed were able to handle any adversity and as always celebrate success. The Borden family was still the foundation of this journey. The kids, especially Lyndy and Wyatt were poised to take things further. But most importantly, Amy and Ty were becoming the foundation of everything. Their commitment to the organization and family was as strong as ever and rarely floundered, especially with their kids. But most importantly their love and devotion to each other was as strong as ever and grew every day. Their love was unique and special and as a result of it the family's legacy would live on for many, many years to come.
