Chapter Nine

Always Getting Better

A/N – It was never my intention to take three chapters to process Lilly's passing but as always, my pen sometimes takes control of my intentions. I hope you enjoyed the last chapter as I intended to accomplish two things. First I wanted to show how much Lilly absorbed from the Borden family and what they were all about and second, give the Bordens a foundation that will help guide them moving forward. As a few reviewers mentioned, I plan to create several story lines from the beautiful words that Lilly gave them. Moving forward the first order of business is to walk through this very important business meeting that the family and company are going to have. I am still unsure on how I will present it but I will promise I will be cognizant of the fact that many find business stuff boring. In this case the business and the family are one so it will be important to meld them together. In addition, relating to the title, the Borden family members will also make stride in continually improving their bonds, not just with each other but with the people who are most important to them. As promised, our newly engaged couple will get some attention along with the rest of the kids and of course Amy and Ty. I have really enjoyed your feedback so please don't stop. Mature Content – Enjoy!

Saturday morning consisted of everyone being on board at the Miracle Ranch. All of them where home and the morning was abuzz. After early chores, Amy, Ty, Lyndy and Wyatt got ready to leave as the rest of the family enjoyed breakfast. Desi, Jeremy and Ricky arrived early to help with chores, have breakfast and then help with the kids the rest of the day. Amy made it a point to give them each a hug and thank them for helping out. They dropped JT off at Mallory's and picked her up. Doug would hang with the kids all day and then, when he headed to the evening dinner they would all go to the Miracle Ranch to stay overnight. Little Lexi was the most excited as she just loved Maddie and spending time with her. On the drive to Hudson, they discussed the meeting and what the three newcomers should expect. Mallory was so excited, "I really want to thank you guys for letting me be a part of the Board meeting. I really enjoy being home with you guys but never in my wildest dreams thought I would be this involved." Ty laughed, "Well Mallory you have earned it. We almost had to since you were the one who taught me how to ride a horse." Amy laughed, "And we know how hard that was." Wyatt sat confused, "Wait, Amy didn't teach you. I just thought she did since you guys were hot for each other." Amy laughed again, "Maybe so, but I think Mallory might have kissed Ty before I did." Now he was even more confused as Lyndy leaned over to him, "Don't worry honey bunch, I will fill you in later." They all laughed as Mallory added, "God you too are as weird as those two." Lyndy poked her, "Look who's talking, I hear you and Doug have a night with no kids, pretty sweet huh." For once in her life, Mallory blushed and had nothing to say. As they pulled into the parking lot of Hudson's City Hall they saw Jack, Lisa, Lou and Scott getting out of their car. Amy frowned a bit when she saw them helping Jack as his arthritis had really been getting worse. He walked with a cane now but still went for rides when he felt better. Amy had continued to provide him some herbal remedies to help since going to a doctor was not for him. They worked, but as he was nearing 90 his bones were hurting a lot more. They went to greet them and his eyes lit up as Amy, Ty, Lyndy and Mallory all gave him a hug. Mallory took his arm, "Come on old man I'll help you." He smiled and joked, "That's nothing new, you have always thought I needed your help." Again everyone laughed as they walked into the building. As soon as they walked in they were met by the mayor and a few other officials including several members of the media, which was a surprise. The mayor spoke up, "Welcome everyone, we are so happy you are here and have taken our offer of using our council meeting room. We hope you don't mind but some of the press asked to be here to interview you before you start. Your company is very important to our city, the area and for that matter all of Alberta. We are proud to have you here and more proud of what you have done for this community. Lou whispered to Lisa, "I guess she is up for reelection." They laughed quietly and took questions from the media until it was time to begin the meeting. As they walked in they were greeted by everyone as they were the last to come in. They sat around chatting as they enjoyed a light breakfast and coffee. Caleb spoke up, "So are you all done schmoozing with the politicians and media, we have a meeting to get to." Jack looked at him sternly with a smile, "Caleb O'Dell you are something else." They gathered in their seats as Lisa got up to open the meeting.

Back at the Miracle Ranch mayhem was in progress. Maddie, Annie, Addie, Caroline and Camilla and their boys divided up the kids and kept them busy. They used the dining room table for coloring and crafty stuff, the barn to see and play with the horses and Addie and Desi took some on Gator rides. The younger ones that needed attention, were with Annie and Jeremy as they were a little more challenging. They had things well planned out, of course led by Maddie and her amazing organizational skills. They had lunch planned at Maggie's and since Saturday's were slower, Lou had the entire end of the diner set aside for them. For dinner, pizza and salads were on tap and as they had planned, all of the kids would be taken home before the parents arrived. Doug actually would be bringing JT, Trent, Shawna and Lexi over midafternoon so the kids would be able to hang with the others. He also was planning a quiet romantic evening for him and Mallory since they were kid less and had things to do. Annie ribbed him a little, "So Mr. Saunders got a big evening planned?" He scoffed, "Yes in fact I do Miss Annie, even though we are old we can still be romantic." All of the girls laughed as Trent and Shawna blushed in embarrassment as he blurted out, "Dad, we don't need any more kids." Lexi looked at him confused, "Why would that happen?" JT immediately changed the subject and asked Lexi if she wanted to ride on the Gator. Her eyes went wide in excitement. Annie and Jeremy sat closely in the kitchen watching the kids at the craft table. She leaned in to kiss his cheek and whispered, "What are you thinking?" He smiled and went to kiss her deeply. "Well, I was thinking about how much I love you and how happy that we are together. And that one day maybe our kids can join this group. Your family is amazing and I am so happy right now." She sat amazed and realized as an only child he never saw this in his life. She loved him so much and to watch him with the kids playing made her warm inside. She went to kiss him again when Rosey O'Dell ran over and yelled, "Eww, you are kissing, Annie can you help me?" They laughed as the young girl took her hand dragging her to the table. Addie and Desi walked in breathless and looking for a drink. Annie laughed, "You two looked whipped." Desi huffed, "That little brother of yours is crazy. He drives like a maniac on that thing and thank god Lexi was strapped in well." Jeremy and Annie laughed again going back to the table to work with the kids. Addie put her hand on Desi's leg as they sat for a drink and smiled up at him. She leaned into kiss his cheek and he smiled. "I guess I went a little crazy myself, but we are responsible for those kids. I know it was safe but it still worried me. I would just die if one of them gets hurt." Before he cold continued, she leaned in and kissed him passionately on the lips. "You are a wonderful caring man and I love you so much." She got his attention and he said the same returning the kiss. The door burst open with Shawna dragging Lexi with her as she screamed, "Eww stop kissing, we want to ride some more." Annie and Addie looked at each other and burst out laughing as happy as they had ever been. Along with the other older kids, they were so happy that they got to do this with their men. The kids were family and being with them was fun and exciting. Desi, Jeremy, Ricky, Troy and Caroline's new friend Billy were having more fun than they thought they would, but most of all being with the women they cared for was the best part. But for the Borden and Walsh girls, having their boyfriends with them taking care of the rather large group of rambunctious kids that they loved, was icing on the cake.

Lisa cleared he throat as Jack grabbed her hand. "Well good morning everyone, especially those of you here for the first time. We are so happy to see all the young faces, the future of our company. Jack and I along with the others are so glad you are with us and so committed to our success." She glanced over to the mayor and some of the officials who had joined them for breakfast all standing along the wall. "We would like to thank the mayor for her hospitality and commitment to us as well. We even want to thank the media who gently ambushed us a little outside." The room chuckled and after the mayor welcomed them the group headed out. As they exited she took a breath, "Ok, enough of that." Everyone chucked again. "As I was saying we are really excited about the meeting today, with several announcements on tap and most importantly to talk of our success and our future." The knew attendees marveled at Lisa's composure and professional manner." Ellie leaned over to Mandy, "Man she is an impressive woman." She smiled as Lisa continued, "We have continued to have a great run. Last year was amazing and our success both from an economic standpoint, community involvement and basically what we do has been outstanding. Lou will go over the numbers shortly and although many of you have seen them they are impressive to say the least. I have been in business settings for my entire life but what we have accomplished, and I do mean we, is a benchmark for any business. But for Jack, Max and I the most impressive thing is the personal growth we have seen in all of you and also your commitment and love for what you do. Each of you play a vital role in our success and to see you all strive to be the best is very heartwarming." She took a break as her emotions were high." Lou spoke up, "Well Grandpa, Lisa and Max, we all owe you a lot to. Your support and guidance have been a major part of our success as well and we all love you very much." The somber crowd clapped and wiped a few tears away. Lisa gathered herself and continued. "As most of you know, Jack and I have decided to step down from our roles and enjoy watching all of you continue to grow. Don't worry we will be around still and Max will continue to be our legal counsel, although his daughter will begin to get more involved. But we need a Chairman of the Board, or should I say Chair Woman. Lou will be assuming the role of Chairman effective immediately and will continue to handle the CFO role until she can start dispersing some of those duties. And to add all of you non Board members as of today are all Adjunct Board members. It means you are welcome to attend these meetings, provide input, be a voice of the staff but will not have a vote. Pretty standard protocol so please understand it will not impact your ideas and involvement. Since we have two board openings our plan was to hold off but we talked and have made a decision. Lyndy, Wyatt, Katie and Clay can you join Lou and I up front." The four of them looked a little stunned as they walked up each couple holding hands. Lou spoke up, "Well as my first official action as Chairwoman I am happy to let everyone know that Lyndy Borden, Wyatt Miller, Katie and Clay Foster, on this day we are happy to appoint you as full Board Members of the Heartland Equestrian Expereince group of companies. You will have full voting rights and will be a certified representative of our team and this company." Everyone clapped wildly as the four of them were stunned. Max made it official, presenting them along with Lou official documentation officially recognizing their new roles. He spoke as Lisa handed them out, "As we are a non-typical company, Lou was selected with an informal vote which by the way was approved 100%. Our other new members were selected by her and some others in the group but everyone was on board. These documents have been filed with local and provincial government offices and are effective today. Congratulations to all of you." Everyone officially applauded again and hugs and handshakes abounded. Lyndy and Katie made sure to hug, Jack, Lisa and Max tightly before they hugged their men and parents. Lou and Amy smiled at each other, gleaming with pride of their daughters. Jack leaned over to whisper to Lisa, "I don't think I have ever been prouder, look at them." He then stood up to speak to the group. "These appointments solidify the future and I am sure our legacy will continue for many more generations. I am so proud of everyone in the room." They all smiled as some of them teared up a little. Amy and Lou went to him for a hug, kissing his cheek. The rest of them smiled as Mallory spoke up, "Ok enough of the waterworks, let's get this meeting started, I have a hot date tonight." Her words brought the group back in a round of laughter and a lot of heads shaking.

After they settled, Lou got up to make some opening remarks. She started by thanking Jack and Lisa for everything they did over the years, especially when the company was originally formed. She smiled, "Lisa's business acumen is unmatched and her leadership and guidance early on was what I believe set us up for success." She giggled, "And Caleb, acumen means she had the ability to make quick and decisive decisions since she was such a successful business women." Caleb scoffed, "Hey, I knew that." After a chuckle Lou continued, "And Grandpa, you are our light and a reason why Amy, Ty, Scott and I along with so many others have been successful. It's kind of amazing that an old rodeo cowboy can be such an influence on so many people. We all love you both so much. And before I move to the agenda I just want to say to Max and Ty, we are all so sorry that Lilly is gone. She was an amazing woman and very influential for all of us. She fought her way back from a situation that most could not of and showed us that she was all in and cared for all of us with all of her heart." Everyone smiled as Amy grabbed Ty's hand as Lou and Lyndy went to Max for a hug. Lou regained her composure and officially started the meeting. "Well, as the agenda lays out we will spend the morning going over the results from last year which we have to say were the best ever. We have come to realize that our growth has remained consistent but controlled while profits and revenue continue to grow extremely well. The business person in me always sees profitability as the best indicator of success but that is where we are different. In New York, it was all that mattered, but here our focus is on the quality of work we do and how much we care for our clients their horses and most importantly our team. Our turnover is ridiculously low because we have created an environment of inclusiveness and opportunity. Every role here is important, necessary and valuable. I was at Briar Ridge last week going over things with Ben and Jenn and several long term employees stopped to talk, thanking us for what we had done there. One said that he hated coming to work, but the money was good. But now he loves what he does and feels as though he is important. So a tribute to the Stillmans but also to everyone here." She stopped as the group quietly clapped in agreement. "We have done well and have a lot of things on the horizon. Our employee ownership and bonus programs are very healthy and I will go over with Max right before lunch. Our charitable endeavors continue to gain momentum, not only helping us financially but continuing to reinforce our positive fiscal presence. When someone hears of us they genuinely understand our mission and that we are committed to the community. As we go through our individual results, we will highlight the financial side along with the charitable side. We will cover our troubled youth and clinical programs along with the events we sponsor that help others, like the Special Kids Rodeo. I love my famliy, which includes all of you and I love what we do as an organization. We are a positive force to be reckoned with and the future is bright as we can see by the new members of the Board here today." Everyone clapped and were excited to see what was on tap for today, proud of what they were a part of.

As the morning progressed at the meeting, the Miracle Ranch was active with kids running everywhere. Addie and Desi arranged a trip to see the Llamas while Annie, Jeremy, Camilla and Troy took a bunch of kids to the Rehoming center to help with the horses. The staff at the center really appreciated the help and as always, anytime a horse was involved the kids were excited. Maddie, Ricky, Gwen, Caroline and Billy stayed with the younger group at the ranch just hanging out. Maddie reminded everyone that they would leave for lunch before noon to make sure they all made it back. Maddie had a second to sit with Ricky and relax, "I really want to thank you for helping today, these kids are a handful." He smiled and kiss her quickly on the lips. "I really am enjoying it, being with Gwen, Caroline, Billy, your sisters and their boyfriends, it's a lot of fun." The usual confident young woman's eyes drew wide realizing he didn't mention her. He had a devilish grin and finally eased her pain. "Maddie but mainly I just like being with you because I love you very much. You are everything to me and seeing your family and how close they are makes me feel really happy." He looked down sadly and continued, "I have never had a lot of that in my life and seeing you and your parents, siblings and friends be so close makes my day." She realized where his comment was coming from. His parents divorced when he was in eighth grade and he only had one sister who went with her dad a lot of the time while he stayed with his mom virtually full time. His life had always been full of arguments and mistrust. And being the oldest he always had to guard his little sister from it. Being separated from her was very hard for him. She smiled softly and looked into his eyes. "Ricky, I love you too, and so does my family. I know one day you and your sister will be together more. And I know we can be a little crazy but this is your family too." She leaned into his ear and whispered, "I mean look at us and how close we are. You mean the world to me and I can't imagine my life without you." She hugged him tightly as they kissed each other. They were completely wrapped up in each other's arms when they heard a screech. Sienna (Katie's daughter) and Hannah (Georgie's) we giggling and yelling out. "We found them everybody and they are making out, like big time." The rest of the kids converged on the young couple in love tickling them and tackling them to the ground. Annie and Addie, who had just got back, laughed and looked at their little sister with big smiles on their faces. Their gazes told them how happy the three of them were. Addie called out to everyone, "Ok, enough, who wants some lunch. They corralled everyone into the cars for the trip into town. Jeremy, Annie, Addie and Desi drove. After lunch, the younger kids would take a nap while the others, after a short rest went back to their fun activities. Maddie and Ricky volunteered to stay with the nappers and Hannah joked, "Yea, so you can make out some more." Everyone laughed, so far it had been a great day for all of them.

At the morning session of the Board Meeting the team went over results. Lou started by giving a state of the business overview. "As you all know, recently the company has been consolidated into three divisions of sorts. The Miracle Ranch now encompasses the Equine and Rehoming Center, Day Care facility, Heartland, the Llama herd as well as both vet clinics in town. Amy and Ty oversee the majority of the division and Scott still will keep oversight of the two vet clinics with Ellie and Mandy coordinating the clinical program we have with the U of C. You know he is getting a little older so we don't want to burden him." Everyone laughed as she continued, "The three of them were equally responsible for everything under the Miracle Ranch umbrella which generate 75% of the net income of the entire company. We also put Maggie's, Dude Ranch and Max's cottage under a division title H.E.E Hospitality still run by Jenn Stillman with help from Mallory and now Maddie. And then finally the Fairfield Breeding Center now has fully incorporated Briar Ridge, both heavily focused on the ever increasing breeding world. Ben still leads this endeavor but Lisa will stay involved as well helping him out as needed. They now had two facility managers who run the day to day so Ben and Lisa can now focus more on growth and expansion of the very lucrative breeding business. This section was about 20% of the net income and the Hospitality covered the rest." Lou took a drink, "Caleb and his team now not only handles the supplies and Ranch Hands, but the youth program. Along with Clay, the two of them will continue to oversee the supply needs for the entire organization, always finding new ways to save money and improve efficiencies. Caleb will go over some things later in the day. And finally the Board decided that I will continue to oversee all charitable endeavors as well as the employee ownership and bonus programs, with Max's assistance. But there is a plan to either bring in a Finance Manager or promote from within, which for many is the best option." After she took a breath she closed. "I am really excited about our future, now more than ever. Under Lisa, Jack and Max's leadership, we have achieved amazing growth and done a lot of great things for clients and our teammates. Our business model is unique and to be honest most would think it would be non-productive. But we have proven the naysayers wrong because of one important influence. It wasn't taught in school for sure, but family is the reason we have accomplished what we have. Grandpa and Lisa have shown us that family is everything and without it I am sure we would not be here today." She put her head down and took a deep breath. "You know when I read Lilly's letter to me she made it clear that our family was what helped her have the happiest days of her life. I have to agree and it's not just blood family but everyone else as well. She was a wise woman and saw that sometimes we take things for granted. Our legacy is in this room and I am confident our future is bright. I love you all." It took a moment for everyone to gather themselves after her non-typical Lou speech. They began clapping and tearing up in appreciation for her words. At that point they all knew that she was the right person for the job and felt proud to be a part of such an amazing family and company. They took a break to recharge after an emotional opening. Lyndy walked over to her parents and whispered, "Wow that was perfect." Amy smiled with a small tear in her eyes and Ty could not speak, "Yeah, that was something else. I don't think I have ever been more proud of my sister and for that matter, everyone here." Without words Lyndy hugged her dad tightly whispering in his ear, "I love you daddy." When the short break was over Jenn was going to go over the Hospitality area and Ben, with Lisa for support, would go over the Fairfield operations. Lou amended the scheduled so Scott would talk briefly about the two vet clinics and the clinical program then Caleb and Clay would take them through all of their stuff. After a long lunch break to check up on the frenzied activity at the Miracle Ranch, Amy and Ty would take at least half of the afternoon with a little help from Ellory and Mallory. It was going to be a long day but the newcomers were soaking everything in.

Lunch with both groups went well. At the Hudson City Hall, by invite, the mayor and other city leaders joined them along with some selected press. The lunch was very good with Maggie's providing a great menu of items. The parents made calls back to the babysitting team and Mallory checked in on Doug. It seemed the kids were having a lot of fun at Maggie's and all was well with the Borden and Walsh kids who were tending to them. Everyone really enjoyed the make out stories especially the one about Maddie and Ricky and how Hanna and Sienna busted them. They laughed when they heard detail on some of the escapades with the Gators and at the Rehoming Center. As the moms and dads checked in, Lisa, Lou, Amy Max and Ty sat with the mayor and press to answer some questions. The mayor was really enticing the H.E.E team to provide information about future plans, especially things that positively impacted Hudson and the surrounding area. Ty whispered to Max, "Wow she is really laying it on thick, she is definitely up for reelection soon." Max laughed and smiled in agreement. He missed a question directed to him so the one reporter asked again. Basically he wanted to know how he felt about replacing Lisa with Lou. She also wondered what his thoughts were about replacing Lisa and Jack with 4 new very young Board members. Lisa took the question smiling, "Lou Cardinal has been overseeing this business since Amy Borden began helping horses when she was 15. No one, even me, knows more about how we operate and what makes us the high quality operation that our reputation is built on. She is the foundation of our business and has more passion than anyone I have ever seen. She is more than qualified to take this company forward as the new CEO and Chairwoman of our Board of Directors." She hesitated, "Well, I kind of let the cat out of the bag but I believe it is appropriate. At the end of day, Lou, along with Amy and Ty will be the leadership team for the Heartland Equestrian Experience and I have to say, our future is bright." She took a breath looking at Lou, who was not aware of the CEO title. "Now regarding the newly appointed Board Members. Lyndy Borden and Katie Foster, like Amy and Georgie Weber, have the gift. The gift that has been passed down from generations in our family. The gift that has been shared with others freely with our staff and many outside of our company. Along with Wyatt Miller, Lyndy's fiancé and soon to be vet and Katie's husband Clay, who is heavily involved in the operational side of our business, they are the true future of our legacy. Katie and Lyndy have been involved in things since they could walk and Wyatt and Clay have shown a passion for them, the business and our family. We are a family run business in the truest sense of the word and moving forward, along with many new adjunct Board Members, the results will be limitless." Jack had walked over to stand with his wife as a reporter asked him what he thought. He simply smiled and spoke softly, "Well my wife is a remarkably intelligent and savvy business women who I love completely. So, what she said. And I need to add that Max is family too." The entire group laughed and headed out receiving thanks from the team. They all headed back into the meeting room to get ready for the afternoon

At the ranch as planned after returning from lunch the kids who needed naps went to lay down in Maddie's rooms where several sleeping bags and cots were set up. Maddie and Ricky snuggled up in her bed as the kids settled and all of the kids quickly fell asleep. Annie peeked in to make sure everything was good and smiled seeing the young couple sleeping along with the younger kids. She walked outside to the rest of the group and gave the thumbs up. The kids wanted to see the Llamas and Doug had dropped off the Trent, JT and Shawna to join them, taking Lexi in to the nap room as well. "Don't worry you guys, I will make sure I am quiet and wake Maddie to let her know." The group got ready to head to the Llama herd with horses, ATVs and the two Gators. Rusty, who was getting ready to head over with a couple of other ranch hands, thanked the girls for going and told them what they needed to do so they could tend to some other things. The couples paired off smiling broadly as the entire group headed over to see the herd. Back at the ranch house, a very peaceful group of kids, along with two content and in love 16yr olds were resting peacefully. Back at the Board meeting the group settled and Lou took the podium. "Well I want to thank everyone who presented this morning. I don't know about you but I am excited and very pleased with how everything is running, smoothly, efficiently and most importantly generating profits. Although I have to point out that Caleb and Clay put on quite a show as I never have had a business review delivered with a rap twist." Jack grunted, "Caleb." Everyone laughed. She asked for any questions and a few were asked by many of the newer attendees. After a bit of time she spoke up, "Well I think we will dedicate the next couple of hours to Amy and Ty so they can go over the Miracle Ranch operation, which everyone knows is the majority of our operating budget for the company. They continue to produce amazing financial and customer focused results. I think along with Lisa we can tell you that in the business world, the performance of their piece of the pie has been consistent and to be honest exemplary. After their time we will take a break to check on the kiddos and spend the rest of the time brainstorming about the future. I for one am looking forward to hear from you youngins as I expect you all have a bunch of great ideas. Who knows, maybe Mallory will have one or two." After the laughter subsided, Amy and Ty took the podium with big smiles. Amy smiled and took the lead. "Like everyone here, Ty and I have been extremely pleased with the Equine Center and what we have and continue to accomplish. It is rewarding to see and idea we had years ago turn into what we have today." She smiled as everyone clapped and continued, "The Rehoming Center managed by Ellory is done an amazing job and has actually increased profits due to the number of horses we have placed with paying owners. Our reputation of providing quality horses is spreading and her request have increased significantly. One of the things we want to brainstorm is how to increase the capacity without losing the integrity of what we do. Everyone knows our company is based off the principles of the family who came before us and we want to keep these principles in place." Everyone smiled as she continued for a few more minutes. She smiled and Ty came up and after a brief kiss, he took over. But not before Katie laughed, "Man you two, you even make out at Board Meetings." Amy stuck her tongue out and kissed him again a little more deeply. Jack grabbed Lisa's hand under the table as all was well with him.

Ty took over and went over the numbers for the entire Miracle Ranch operation. He only brushed on them since they operating report had been handed out, even to the newer attendees. He laughed, "I expect for many of you who are seeing this for the first time, it may seem like a lot of numbers, it's really not too hard to understand. Heck even Caleb does." Everyone chuckled as Cass consoled her husband, "Don't worry sweetie, everyone still loves you." As the settled Ty continued. "So as you can and will see, our part of the operation has seen continued growth over the last 5 years but it has slowed a little. Now don't fret, Lisa and Lou say this is actually good. Every good company has larger than normal earnings in the early years, before they get settled in. What we are seeing is sustained growth, which is a very good thing. Overall, The Miracle Ranch as well as the overall company has reached this level and with continuous improvement and revisions it will continue moving forward, especially with all of the younger folks here today." Lou interjected, "Now our financial results, by law are public record, but this packet has a lot of detail that is not. The Board understands the brevity of confidentiality and I am sure the rest of you do as well. We want all of our new Full and Adjunct Borad members to have this. Read through it and get with one of us and we can explain any part of it you want us to, but it stays safe and secure with you." They all smiled and shook their heads understanding the privileged and responsibility given to them. Ty continued to dig deeper into the overall results and projection answering questions as they came up. The session was very open and candid and ideas were discuss to get even better. Lou looked at her watch and spoke up, "Well it seems we are a little behind and I know we have to catch up on the kids. Let's break and I think maybe we can take a raincheck on dinner so we can get home to the kids, well except hot date Mallory. I think we may change the dinner to a BBQ at Heartland for all of us and our kids." Everyone smiled in agreement as they took a break. Back at the Miracle Ranch Maddie got everyone's attention, "Hey guys the meeting is on break so expect all of your phones to start ringing." Just as she stopped three phones rang at the same time. After a half hour the calls were over and with amended plans the kids went back to their activities. Now all of them would be picked up except for JT and the Saunder's kids who were staying. Amy told Lyndy during the break that they were going back to Heartland to meet with Lisa, Max, Jack, Lou and Scott so they needed to handle dinner at home. She said they had some other things to discuss and not to worry. After the break, they continued a Q & A session and then whiteboard some ideas. Ellory presented an idea where they could increase capacity with a little construction and start using Heartland as well to handle some of the horses that were ready to go. She also included all the cost including a couple of extra staff and showed that the expenses would return even more profits and most importantly happy owners and horses. Everyone liked the idea so they moved to have her finalize the numbers and get back to them. Mallory recommended that they needed an upgrade to the playground at the Day Care as well as some more interactive toys to help the children's development. "Nick, Ellie's husband, found some amazing things that we can add so like Ellory, I will write up a business plan." Lyndy, wanting to get involved offered to help. Someone mentioned that they should consider improving Maggie's website to increase online ordering and takeout. Jenn was all over it and mentioned that she had already run the idea past Lou. A lot of ideas were talked about with the Equine Center that were all captured and distributed to willing parties who offered to work on them. Caleb mentioned that they considered increasing the Llama herd but it got shelved since the concern was who would step up to care for them. All in all there were a host of items that were discussed with anticipation and excitement about the future. Lou and Lisa made a hard stop at 5:00 so everyone could get their kids and enjoy the rest of their night. Congratulations again went around the room as they adjourned with everyone feeling it was a fantastic day.

Lyndy and Wyatt got back and almost all the kids were gone already. They ordered pizza and everyone had a great dinner. The five babysitting couples went to a movie so Lyndy and Wyatt had the younger kids. Luckily, they were tired and went to bed early, so Lyndy and Wyatt decided to do the same. As they got ready for bed, Wyatt couldn't help but notice that Lyndy was really quiet. "He babe, what's going on, you have been like somewhere else." She smiled as they cuddled up in bed and leaned heavily into his arms. "I am worried about GG. Mom, was calm but I could tell something was up since they were all going to Heartland for this "meeting." I just hope everything is Ok." He smiled, "Lyndy first off, I love the PJ's, favorite and second, I am sure everything is Ok. Maybe there are some things they need to discuss as a smaller group." He kissed her neck, "So the pajamas, what's up." She felt his urges rise along with hers. "Well they are comfortable and I kind of know you like them. And…I am really not too tired after sitting in a meeting room all day." His eyes opened wider and whispered moving his hand along her side which was exposed. "So do you like this." She moaned softly as his hand moved up to her breast cupping it lightly. Her moan grew as she recovered and joined in the fun wrapping herself around his neck. Their foreplay increased, each knowing what the other needed. Lyndy moved her lips up and down his torso paying attention below his boxers as well. When she moved that way, Wyatt moaned her name loudly and quickly covered his mouth. Lyndy giggled and whispered, "You like that Wy?" He was unable to talk and quickly turned the tabled moving to her breast and then down her stomach and then her core. She arched her back as he pleasured her deeply and like him moaned his name a little too loudly. She covered her mouth as well. The rolled to their sides to face each other, Lyndy reached over and opened his drawer to pull out a condom. She held it up wiggling it, "Wyatt I need you like now!" He rolled her over as she opened for him. Their movements were in unison as they loved each other completely. Lyndy reached multiple climaxes and when ready they reach a peak of their love together. Their love was heated and completely satisfying as they continued on for a while longer. Once completely satisfied, they fell back facing each other side to side, breathing heavily, soaked in sweat, staring lovingly in each other's eyes. Lyndy was the first to talk, "You always know how to help me when I am down. Wyatt Miller I love you and can't wait to get married and live our life together forever." She kissed him deeply and sighed, "Future Lyndy Miller, you are everything to me and I love you more and more each and every day. I can't wait to build a life with you. And don't ever get rid of those pajamas." She laughed and hugged him tightly moving her lips under his ear lobe whispering, "Round two?" He smiled, reaching back in his drawer wiggling the condom. "I am for sure little lady, let the loving begin." There night continued into the night until they fell asleep, never hearing her parents come home.

As the small group settled at Heartland Lou was the first to talk. "Ok, we wanted to talk to you GG about how you are doing. I am not going to lie but all of us have seen how you have been struggling and want to make sure you are Ok." Amy chimed in, "GG, we need to know if there is anything we can do for you and Lisa. We all love you so much and all of the kids worship both of you completely." The room went silent as Jack and Lisa looked at each other until he finally talked, "Well I can tell you I don't have any type of serious medical condition, but guys, I will be 90 soon. And to be honest when you rodeo, your body gets racked up pretty good. I have already outlived all of my friend and have been around longer than my parents and grandparents. So I think that is pretty good." They all smiled as Scott added, "Jack, we are just worried and we know you are a touch old guy." Everyone laughed as Jack got serious. "You know I am certain my life has gone on a bit longer because of you, the grandkids and great grandkids. You keep me going with all of the love you all have for me. My life is full of short term life goals. I want to see Lyndy and Wyatt graduate and get married. I want to see how many more babies show up. I want to see the twins and Maddie continue to become amazing women and JT, well just watching him is amazing. And I want to see Katie and Georgie continue to succeed and be happy. I am content that this company and most importantly this family and it's legacy will continue on for a very long time. I see it every day with all of you and your families." Jack took a breath as Lisa stepped in, "Jack and I have spent a lot of time thinking about this family and I can guarantee you we are more than happy with the love all of you have for each other and the business." She leaned into Jack as Max spoke up. "If I can say something, Ty your mom talked all of the time about all of you. Jack and Lisa, I know the four of us had many a conversation about this operation, all of you and your families. My Lilly strongly believed that you all were the reason she held on so much longer than the doctors ever thought she could. It was something that she always smiled about even toward the end when she wrote those letters to everyone. It was her way of thanking you all and bringing her some peace at the end of her life." He gathered himself, "I just needed to say that and thank you for what you all did for her." The room went silent as Amy and Lou went to hug him. Ty just looked at him with teary eyes until Jack interrupted, "Thank you Max, that means a lot to all of us. But you all asked what you can do. Just keep on keeping on, that's all I need. And I ain't dead yet so let's finish our coffee and head to bed. I for one am pretty tired." Everyone exchanged hugs and handshakes. Max had decided to stay at Heartland that night, so Amy and Ty left. When they walked on the porch. Ty grabbed her hand and says, "Let's go reminisce." She looked at him puzzled as he pulled her in for a kiss. He led her over to the older part of the Heartland barn. He swung the door open and found Hannah and Georgie just finishing with their horses. Hannah gleamed jumping into their arms, "Aunt Amy, Uncle Ty what are you doing here." Ty smiled, "Just checking out the old barn, little girl." He got quiet and Georgie immediately figure they wanted to be alone. She grabbed her little girl, "Come on Sweetie, you will see these guys tomorrow, say good night." She smiled and gave them each a hug, "We caught Maddie and Ricky kissing a couple of times today, they are in love." They laughed as Georgie gathered her and headed upstairs, looking over her shoulder smiling at both of them. They were always there for her and she realized they needed some time alone. Ty put his arm around her, "Sure are a lot of memories in this barn." She giggled blushing a little, "Yeah, how I used to sneak out her late at night so we could cuddle, making out in the office and getting caught and of course our wedding night." She blushed again as they leaned up against the outside of the stalls that use to have Spartan and Harley in them. He smiled, There sure was a lot, you were kind of hot for me for sure." She smacked his chest, "Whatever, you had the hots for me. Didn't you tell me that you fell in love with me when I waved at you as you and grandpa were leaving from the jumping course you made me?" He smiled as he held her tightly, "Yes I did." Amy spoke softly, "I kind of loved you but there was a night when I truly knew I did. It was when you stood right there and said you would do anything for me." Now it was her turn to lean in and kiss him. After more than a few minutes he leaned back with a revelation. "Amy, this is the exact place we had our first kiss. I know things got a little messy after that but that was quite the kiss, until Jack broke it up. I had wanted to kiss you for a long time and the feeling of your lips on mind was amazing." They kissed again moaning and giggling at the same time. She leaned back, "Well after today I am so happy about everything but I have a lot of energy." Ty batted his eyes, "Well I have a house with a bedroom waiting for us. You up for it." She smiled coyly grabbing his hand, "Come on let's go." He laughed watching her excitement and realized that their life continued to be a dream that they both had and were now living.
