Ch 42 The Dragon Master Pt 2
The Battle went on, and each other's Pokemon fought hard to get the other out.
Armaldo was taken out by Kingdra's powerful Liquidation,
In return, Steven sent out Cradily where an Ingrain and a Power Whip took him out with ease.
Drake's Flygon was next and with a Dragon, Tail followed up with a Dragon Breaking Swipe, Cradily was out for the count.
Claydol was next to be on the Battlefield, he was able to do some chip damage to Flygon but was ultimately defeated by a powerful Solar Beam.
Skarmory was next, being released onto the Battlefield. Like Claydol, she was able to land a good hit until a Dragon Tail slammed her into the ground.
Having two Pokemon left, Steven took out his second to last Pokemon. "Make me proud," He looks down at his next Pokeball. "Aggron! Let's go!" He tosses his Pokeball onto the Battlefield, releasing a large bipedal triceratops-like Pokemon.
"Aggron!" The Iron Armor roars, ready to Battle.
"Aggron, eh? Well, let's see what he can do." The Dragon master commented, he held out his hand and continued with the Battle. "Flygon, Dig down in the ground!"
"Fly!" Flygon cried loudly, soaring into the air before spinning in the air and drilling down into the Battlefield.
Aggron looks around the Battlefield, unsure where the Ground/Dragon-type would pop up. "Agg? Aggron?"
"Aggron, calm down!" Steven cried out to his Partner, knowing how anxious he gets whenever the opponent disappear.
The Iron Armor Pokemon nodded, looking around this time with a calmer head.
Drake smiles at the fact Steven was kind to his Pokemon to help with their flaws. His face then got serious and proceeded to attack, "Flygon, attack!" The old Elite Four member cried out.
The ground soon cracked, signifying that the Mystic Pokemon was there.
Steven held his hand out, ready for the incoming Duel-type. "Aggron, Bulldoze now!"
"Aggron!" The Iron Armor Pokemon turned around and raised his tail. He then slams his tail hard on the Battlefield, causing it to shake.
"Flygon, get out now!" Drake quickly acted, knowing that this was a few ways to get a Pokemon out from the ground with additional damage.
The ground shook to the cracks before the Duel-type burst out. "Fly!" Flygon roars, evading the Bulldoze.
"Now, Heavy Slam!" The Steel-blue haired trainer smirks, seeing his plan to draw out worked.
Aggron leaps in the air and takes on a metallic aura.
Drake quickly acted against Aggron's incoming attack. He looks up at his Pokemon, still recovering from being underground. "Flygon, use Dragon Tail to knock away Aggron!" He ordered his Partner.
Flygon shook his head before hearing his trainer's order. "Fly!" The Duel-type's tail glowed a greenish hue before swinging it at Aggron.
"Grab his tail!" Steven quickly ordered his Pokemon.
"Agg!" Aggron obliges to his trainer's orders and extends his arms. He grabs Flygon's tail, which shocked him and everyone else.
"Fly!?" Flygon exclaims at the unexpected turn.
"What!?" Drake shares the same expression as the Mystic Pokemon.
Steven punched the air, "Now slam Flygon to the ground!" He continues with the orders.
"Aggron!" The Iron Armor Pokemon tosses Flygon over his shoulders and released him to fall.
Flygon was tossed with great speed, his eyes opened, and spread his wings. "Flygon, use Dragon Claw and finish this!" Drake ordered.
"Fly!" The Duel-type's claws extend into a greenish hue before dashing at Aggron.
"Aggron, Iron Tail!" Steven quickly ordered his Pokemon to attack,
Still falling from the air, Aggron got Steven's orders. "Aggron!" His tail took on a metallic color and flips around.
The two Pokemon collided, and each landed their respective attacks on the other. Aggron fell to the ground and Flygon did too.
They turned around to face each other, both taking damage from their attacks. Suddenly both of them fell down with swirls in their eyes.
"Both Flygon and Aggron are unable to Battle," Blanche raised her hands, announcing a tie between Drake and Steven. "Both trainers have one Pokemon each, whoever wins the next round will be the victor!"
Back in the audience, everyone was both excited and anxious for Steven.
Helena held tightly onto Kirlia, anticipating the next Battle. "So it led to a tie," She commented.
Jackie nodded, seeing how powerful Drake's Pokemon are. "Drake has trained his Pokemon well, almost everyone was able to keep up with Steven's team." He added to Helena's comment.
"Hey now, there's still one more Battle left." Flannery. said, cheering everyone up. "It's not over until it's over."
"Flannery's right, but it's against Steven's and Drake's Partner Pokemon." Roxanne reminded everyone, taking note of how their last Pokemon are the ones they trained harder.
Brawly stood up from his seat, rooting for Steven to win. "COME ON DUDE! BRING YOU'RE A GAME!"
"KIRLIA!" Kirlia joined in with the cheering.
Steven sighs, holding out Aggron's Pokeball. "Great job out there, Aggron. Get some rest." He calls back his Pokemon into his Pokeball. He looks up, seeing Drake calling back Altaria to her Pokeball.
"Altaria, you deserve a rest after that wonderful display," Drake calls back his Partner. The Elite Four member looks up, facing the young trainer once more. "Well kid, this is it. Both of us have one Pokemon each, and by the looks of it our last Pokemon is our Partner." He commented as he took out his last Pokeball.
Steven nodded, taking out Metagross's Pokeball. "You're right Drake. Metagross is my Partner and the Pokemon I trust the most to claim victory." The Steel-blue haired boy commented,
Drake nodded, hearing what Steven said. "Placing your trust in your Pokemon is very admirable." He looks down at his Partner's Pokeball, sharing the same feeling with his own Pokemon. "I too share the same the same trust as you, Steven."
The Elite Four member pulls back his arm, ready to bring out his Partner. "Salamence! Your time is now!" Drake tossed his final Pokeball onto the Battlefield,
The Pokeball released a large sky-blue four-legged dragon with red wings. The Dragon/Flying-type roars loudly, sending an intimidating aura to the stadium.
Around his neck was a large necklace hanging down from the center.
"I had a feeling that your Pokemon might Mega Evolve," Steven commented, taking note of the Salamencite hanging down his neck.
Drake responded with a smile at Steven's words.
Helena took out her Rotom Phone, aiming it at Salamence. "Salamence huh?" She has never seen this Pokemon before, mainly how rare it is where she lives.
-ZZZ- Salamence, the Dragon Pokemon, a Dragon/Flying-type. -ZZZ- The Pokedex placed the image and the information regarding Salamence on the screen.
-ZZZ- By evolving into Salamence, this Pokémon finally realizes its long-held dream of growing wings. To express its joy, it flies and wheels all over the sky while spouting flames from its mouth. -ZZZ-
"Salamence is one of Hoenn's strongest Pokemon a trainer could have." Helena turns to Roxanne, adding additional information about the Duel-type on the Battlefield.
"Kirlia?" Kirlia looks at the brunette girl sitting next to her and Helena.
"What do you mean by that, Roxanne?" Helena asked,
Roxanne turns to Helena, raising her finger. "Well, you know how Steven got Metagross right?" She asked the black-haired girl.
Helena and Kirlia nodded, responding to Roxanne's question. "That's because they are hard to find, sure there are Bagnons and Beldums around, but a fully evolved Metagross and Salamence is rare." Roxanne continued,
"Now I see," The former Witch commented before hearing Steven sending out Metagross onto the Battlefield. "Oh, it looks like they're starting the Battle."
Steven/ Metagross vs Drake/ Salamence.

"Alright Metagross, this is it!" Steven stated, ready to take this victory. He held his hand towards his Partner, "Metagross, Meteor Mash!"
"Meta!" The Iron Leg Pokemon dashed forward, taking on a metallic hue.
Drake crossed his arms, glaring at his main Partner Pokemon. "Salamence, defend with Iron Defense!" He ordered Salamence.
Salamence roars as his body took on a metallic color, acting as a defensive exoskeleton.
Metagross slams into the Dragon Pokemon, however, Salamence was unaffected by the first attack.
Steven gritted his teeth, 'Salamence's defense is strong, I have to look for a perfect opening to strike.' He mentally thought, until then he decided to beat around the bush.
"Metagross, Meteor Mash again!" Steven said, nodding to his Partner,
Metagross looks back, understanding what he needs to do. "Meta!" His body took on a metallic hue once more before bashing into Salamence.
Salamence still had his Iron Defense up and was taking one Metagross's attack.
Drake smirks, seeing what Steven was planning. "So, you're attacking Salamence repeatedly to find a weak point in his defense." He chuckles, Steven remains calm despite the Elite Four member figuring out his strategy.
"Keep going, Metagross!" Steven cried out to his Partner.
"I'm sorry, but Salamence is stronger than you initially think." Drake held out his hand, "Salamence, get rid of him with Flamethrower!"
The Dragon Pokemon's mouth began to spout out flames, ready to unleash his Flamethrower.
Steven steps forward, "Metagross, get out of there!" He shouted, knowing how effective a Fire-type move has on his Partner.
In a flash, the Duel-type disappeared just before Salamence released his Flamethrower. The Iron Leg Pokemon appeared below the flames, barely dodging it.
"Metagross, Zen Headbutt!" Steven ordered, still using his strategy.
"Meta!" Metagross's X glowed a blue hue before charging in a blue aura.
"Respond with a Double Edge!" Drake commanded his Partner to counter the Zen Headbutt.
Salamence dashed forward, and a white aura covers the Dragon Pokemon.
Both attacks landed causing both to rebound from each other. Then Steven saw it, Salamence's weak spot,
'That's it! The weak spot!' Steven acted quickly, taking this chance to hit the underbelly of the Dragon Pokemon. "Metagross, use Flash Cannon now!"
The Iron Leg Pokemon quickly adjusted himself as his X glowed a silvery color. "Meta!" A beam was released at Salamence.
However, Drake was prepared for situations such as this one. "Salamence, use Draco Meteor!" He smirked at his Partner.
Salamence's head switched upward and opened his mouth. He charged up before releasing a small ball into the air,
The ball made a missile sound before a brightly disbursed. The light released multiple large meteors raining down onto the Battlefield.
"Holy-that's one big Draco Meteor is I ever seen one!" Brawly laughs, seeing the full scale of a powerful Dragon-type move.
"Let's hope Metagross can dodge each one of those meteors," Flannery commented, seeing how many were falling from the sky.
Steven swipes his hands to the side, "Metagross, evade those meteors!" The Steel-blue haired trainer cried out to his Partner.
Metagross disappeared from the first meteor and then reappeared before disappearing until one hits him. Then another, and another, the Iron Leg Pokemon has taken a lot of damage from the ongoing barrage of Meteors.
The Steel-blue haired boy watches as his Partner took on the strongest Dragon-type move. Metagross fell to the Battlefield, taking a significant amount of damage. 'Hang in there Metagross.'
Metagross struggles to stand on his four legs, however, he wasn't down for the count. "M-Meta," The Duel-type shook his head, still wanting to continue.
"Metagross doesn't look so good," Helena commented, seeing the damage he has taken from the Draco Meteor.
"I agree, he looks like he could give out at any given time," Jackie added; his green eyes shifts to Drake's Salamence.
Salamence's body doesn't seem to have taken that much damage, in fact, he still looks like when he was first sent out. "Salamence is still fine after the ongoing attack from Metagross's attack," Jackie commented.
Helena nodded, seeing the little damage on the Dragon Pokemon's body.
"I have to say, not everyone can survive my Salamence's Draco Meteor like that. He has a strong defense. " Drake commented, looking at Metagross's condition. "It's no wonder he is your Partner."
"Thanks," Steven frowns, seeing that his Pokemon might fall if he isn't careful. He then chuckles as he reached for his Mega Stock, "(Seems like I have no choice, it may be a bit early to use this but I gotta take my chances.)" He said to himself quietly.
The oldest Elite Four member observes the young Challenger, curious about what he was thinking. "Steven, you better make your move, or I will." He warns the Steel-blue-haired Boy, ready to attack.
Suddenly Steven took out his Mega Stock, ready to show his Bond with his Metagross. "Metagross, let's give Drake what he's been waiting for!"
Metagross nodded, eyeing his trainer as he placed his lips on his Key Stone. "Sparkling Stone, give our Bond form!" Steven announced,
Like many Battles before, the Key Stone responded to Steven's touch. A rainbow light shines from the Stone,
In response to the light, the Metagrossite around Metagross's leg began to shine. The light engulfed the Duel-type, changing his form into his Mega Evolved form.
"Meta!" Metagross released a powerful aura across the Battlefield.
Drake smirks as the aura blows through his coat and the crowds cheer for him to do the same. "Now that's one strong Bond. This aura is clear proof of your strong friendship with your Pokemon." The Elite Four member commented,
The cheering grew for the upcoming Battle. Drake smiles, hearing the cheers of the spectators around him. He looks at Salamence who looked around the audience. "Well, bud? What do you think, shall we entertain them?" The old man asked his long-time Partner.
The Dragon Pokemon grins, nodding to his Partner to do the same as their opponents.
"Very well, if that's what you want Salamence." Drake took out a necklace from his coat pocket, a Key Stone was dangling below the end. He tossed it in the air before grabbing his Key Stone, causing the same reaction as Steven's.
"I may be new to Mega-Evolving Pokemon, but I know our Bond is strong enough to cause this phenomenon." Drake held out his Mega Necklace at Salamence, causing the Salamenceite around his neck to shine.
"Salamence, unleash the power of Dragon! Mega Evolve!" Drake exclaims as the Duel-type before him roars, light engulfs his body and begins to change.
Salamence's body took to the air, his wings grew larger, and his legs grew shorter. Soon his wings took the shape of a croissant as he began to float in the air.
The light disburses, revealing a powerful-looking Salamence on the Battlefield.
The audience cheered at another Mega Evolved Pokemon Battle.
Drake crossed his arms and gave a confident grin to the Challenger. "Now, come at us! If you desire to be the next Champion of Hoenn then defeat my Salamence, Steven Stone!" He proclaims, wanting to see if Steven and Metagross have the resolve to defeat him.
Steven smirked, raising his hand. "All right Metagross, let's give it our all!" He exclaims, getting pumped from the Battle.
"Meta!" Metagross responded,
"Use Zen Headbutt!" Steven shouted, now taking a risker approach against the Dragon master.
Metagross's X glowed a blue hue before a barrier covered his body. He charged forward straight to Salamence.
Drake held out his hand to his Partner. "Salamence, use Iron Defense!"
Salamence's body took on a metallic color as Metagross slams into him. The Iron Leg Pokemon bounced back,
Drake saw the opportunity to strike and claim victory. "Salamence now's your chance, attack with Flamethrower!" He ordered.
"Perfect," Steven was waiting for Salamence to attack,
Salamence's mouth began to spout flames when Metagross suddenly disappeared. The Dragon Pokemon's eyes widen, searching for his opponent.
Right behind him, Metagross appeared, "Salamence, he's right behind you!" Drake warns his Partner of their opponent's whereabouts.
The Duel-type turned around about to release his Flamethrower, however, Metagross was faster than him. "Flash Cannon, let's go!" Steven cried out,
Both Pokemon released their powerful attacks at each other. Their attacks collided causing an explosion in the center of the Battlefield,
The smoke cleared, giving Steven the chance to attack again. Then he heard Drake doing the same thing he was planning to do. "Salamence, use Flamethrower again!" The Elite Four member ordered.
The Dragon Pokemon released a powerful roar before a burst of flames came out of the smoke.
"Metagross, use Psychic against the Flamethrower!" Steven commanded his Partner, having an idea in his mind.
"Meta!" Metagross's eyes and his X glowed a blueish hue as the flames took on the same color. "Meta!"
The Iron Leg Pokemon redirect the Flamethrower back at Salamence, which was unexpected to both Drake and his Partner.
The Flamethrower landed a hit on the Duel-type causing him to roar from the damage. "That was unexpected," Drake stated before looking at his Partner, "Salamence, are you okay?"
Salamence was still hovering, shaking off the ashes left from the Flamethrower. Drake smiles, seeing that he can still keep going,
"If you're doing all right then let's finish this!" Drake held out his hand, ready for the final attack. "Salamence fly up and give your Draco Meteor!" He exclaims,
The Duel-type obliges his Partner, speeding like a jet as he climbs upward to the sky. Salamence lets out another roar before releasing a small ball from his mouth.
The ball whistles in the air before exploding into many meteors hailing down from the sky.
Metagross doesn't need his trainer's orders to be able to dodge the falling rocks. He dodged a few before getting into the rhythm of dodging and evading.
Steven knew that dodging wasn't going to last long, however, an idea came into his mind. "Metagross, catch a few of those meteors!" He ordered his Partner,
"Meta!" Metagross caught on to what his Partner was thinking. By using Psychic, he manages to catch a few of the falling meteors and have them orbiting around him.
"Now, use Meteor Mash with the meteors!" Steven quickly came up with a plan, using the power of the Dragon-type moves against its owner.
Metagross took on a metallic hue and hurls the meteors back at Salamence before charging in.
Drake saw the creative move, he acted according to what he saw. "Salamence, use Iron Defense, and hold out-"
"Too late!" Steven smirked,
Salamence was about to use Iron Defense, however, the meteors from his Draco Meteor bombards him first, taking the damage.
He roared in pain before Metagross appeared and did the finishing blow. They collided and like before, a large explosion happened and created a dust cloud.
Two silhouettes fell from the dust cloud as they reached the bottom of the Battlefield.
Both trainers watched the Battlefield as their Pokemon remained standing. Metagross staggers in the air before a loud thud echoes throughout the stadium.
