Ch 55 Heading for Chargestone Cave
Helena safely guided the Petililies away from Team Plasma, leading them to another small meadow in Lostlorn Forest. "Okay, I believe that's far enough." She looks back, seeing her Pokemon guiding the group of Bulb Pokemon.
"Pet?" The Petilili in Helena's arms looks up at her, curious if they are safe.
Helena smiles, gently placing the Pokemon down on the ground. "There, you and your friends should be safe now," She kneels down, petting the Pokemon near her feet.
Ponyta, Hatenna, and Kirlia approached their trainer, sensing no hostile people around them. "Kirlia, Kirlia," The Emotions Pokemon told Helena they were safe.
"Hat! Hatenna!" Hatenna confirms that what Kirlia said was true.
"Thank you, both of you for checking," Helena smiles at her Partners. She then turns to Ponyta, feeling left out of the compliments. "And thank you for helping to protect the Petililies, Ponyta, and you too, Dratini." She thanked the Unique Horn Pokemon.
Ponyta cries happily at her trainer's compliment.
Dratini joins in the cheering with the Psychic-type Pokemon next to her.
Helena giggles at her Pokemon getting along as friends. She looks up at the sky, noticing that the sun was setting, "It's getting late," She spoke.
Kirlia and the others look up at the setting sky, "Kirlia,"
"Alright, I think we should start heading back to Nimbasa City before Professor Ceder took notice we've been out for a while," Helena stated to her Pokemon,
They all nodded, allowing her to call them back to their Pokeball. Other than Kirlia, since she wants the company to go back.
Helena picks up Kirlia in her arms before looking at the Petilili N entrusted to her. "Petilili, we have to go. It was nice meeting you," She said kindly to the Grass-type Pokemon.
"Kirlia!" Kirlia waved her arm at the Bulb Pokemon goodbye.
Helena with Kirlia in her arms starts making their way out of Lostlorn Forest.
Petilili blinks, watching the black-haired Ability User leave the Forest. "Pet? Pet, Pet!" The Bulb Pokemon waved to her friends, indicating that she wants to follow the trainer.
"Pet,"
"Pet,"
The group of Petililies was all for their friend traveling with the trainer who protected them.
Petilili hops forward, bidding her friends farewell, and off to follow the black-haired trainer to Nimbasa City.
Heading back inside the Gate to Nimbasa, Helena made her way in front of the Theater. She looks around, figuring out which way was the way to Nimbasa City Gym. "So down the street is where the Gym is-oh! It's Professor Juniper!" She exclaims upon seeing the brunette woman.
"Kirlia?" The Emotions Pokemon looks at where Helena was looking at.
"Professor Juniper!" Helena called out to the Regional Professor at the end of the street.
The brunette Professor turns around, seeing the student of Professor Ceder coming up to her. "Ah, Helena, hello. I wasn't expecting you to come from the Theater," She greeted the young Researcher.
Helena walks up to the Regional Professor and meets up with her. "Did you finish what you need to do in Castelia City?" She asked,
"Yes, I did, Helena. Everything I have to go back in Castelia City and now I'm heading to Chargestone Cave for another project I'm working on with Bianca." Professor Juniper explains to the Ability User. "Speaking of Bianca, did you run into her?"
"No, I haven't, I just returned from Lostlorn Forest," Helena informed the brunette Professor.
Aurea Juniper crosses her arms, seeing that she has missed her. "Oh, I see. Then she must be still at the Theater." The brunette commented before smiling. "In any case, where you off to, Helena?" The Professor asked.
Helena smiles at her, "I was heading to meet Professor Ceder and Miss Elsea at the Nimbasa Gym." She explains to the Region's Professor.
"Well, when you meet up with Adam tell him I'll be at Chargestone Cave. I'll be there for at least three days, if he wants to join my experiment, just give me a call." Professor Juniper informed the black-haired trainer.
"I will, don't worry Professor," Helena answers the Professor,
The Professor walks past the black-haired girl to the Theater. "I know you will, we'll meet again. See you soon, Helena." Aurea left the young Researcher, heading to find Bianca.
Helena watches as the brunette Professor disappears within the crowd before looking down at her Partner. "Let's meet with Elesa and Professor Ceder, Kirlia. We've been out longer than I expected." She commented.
"Kirlia!" The Emotions Pokemon agreed with her Partner as they went to the Gym.
Adam sighs in front of the Nimbasa City Gym, scratching the back of his head. "Seriously, Emmet, you need to take care of yourself more." The blonde and blue-haired Professor stated, looking at a tired Emmet.
Elesa nodded, agreeing with their friend. "Adam's right, I mean look at you." Her electric-blue eyes look at the Subway Boss's appearance. "You haven't slept for days, Emmet."
Helena walks through the arch, seeing her mentor and the Gym Leader talking to a man with grey hair and a little goatee on his chin. His clothing was sloppy, his hair unkept, and bags under his eyes.
"If you're going go on like this without rest, then you will collapse," Elesa stated, truly worried for her Friend's wellbeing.
Adam nodded, supporting the blonde Gym Leader's stance. "Emmet, you won't find Ingo if you don't take care of yourself
"I told you two, I'm doing fine. There's nothing for yourselves to get worried about," Emmet smiles at his two friends. The Subway Boss turns around, heading back to his Station.
Emmet walks down the sidewalk, swaying side to side. "Ah," He stumbles on his feet, accidentally bumping into Helena.
"Ah!" Helena steps to the side, feeling the white-coated man almost fall on her.
Both Adam and Elesa gasp, seeing what almost happened to the young Researcher. "HELENA!"
Emmet caught himself before he fell on the black-haired girl. He looks at the young trainer he almost made fall. "My apologies young lady, I didn't see you there." The grey-haired man apologizes to Helena.
Helena smiles at the tired Subway Boss before her. "No harm done," She said, watching as the grey-haired man head towards Gear Station. She looks down at her Partner, wanting to know if she's all right. "Kirlia, you're not hurt, are you?" She asked.
"Kirlia," The Emotion Pokemon shook her head, indicating that she was fine.
"Helena, are you okay?" Helena turns around, seeing Adam approaching her.
"Professor Ceder, yes I'm all right," Helena responded to her Mentor's question. She then turns to see the white-coat man already inside the Subway Station. "Was that your friend you were talking about, Professor? He looks worse than what you have described," She asked.
Adam sighs, seeing that Helena could easily tell that Emmet was teetering on the edge of collapse. "Yes, ever since Ingo disappeared Emmet is focusing his efforts on finding his Twin Brother." He looks at his Apprentice, explaining his friend's situation to him.
"He doesn't have time to take care of himself." Elesa joins up with the two, talking about their friend. "All he does is work, search, work, search, and onwards." The Gym Leader sighs at the little progress they did to help the Subway Boss.
The blonde Gym Leader looks at Adam, knowing they have somewhere to be. "Thank you again for trying to convince Emmet to take a break, Adam." Elesa thanked her friend for attempting to help with Emmet.
"Any time, Elesa. I just hope nothing bad happens to him." The blue and blonde-haired Professor stated.
Kirlia patted her Partner's arm, reminding her of what Professor Juniper told her to do. "Kirlia," She said.
Helena looks down at Kirlia, hearing her reminding something important. "Oh, right. Thank you Kirlia for reminding me." She looks at her Mentor, informing him of what Professor Juniper wants to relay to him. "Professor,"
Adam turns his head to his Apprentice, hearing her call him. "Yes, Helena? What is it?" He asked.
"I met with Professor Juniper not long ago and asked me to tell you that she's heading to Chargestone Cave to do an experiment." The Ability User relayed the message to her Mentor.
"An experiment, huh?" Adam placed his hand on his chin, finding what his Ex-girlfriend was up to be intriguing. His eyes look at his Apprentice wanting her opinion. "What do you think? Do you want to see the experiment that Professor Juniper is doing, Helena?" He asked.
Helena nodded, wanting to find out what kind of experiment the Professor was going to do. "I'm actually quite curious what experiment Professor Juniper would be doing…" She commented, "So, if you don't mind, Professor can we go see it?"
The blue and blonde-haired Professor chuckles that they were on the same page. Adam looks at Elesa, smiling at her. "Well, it was nice to see you again Elesa. Sorry, we can't do much with Emmet." He apologized to the Gym Leader.
Elesa just smiled, seeing there was only one thing to do. "At least we tried, don't worry about Emmet." She placed her hand on her chest, "I'll keep a close eye on him, make sure he doesn't do anything reckless."
The Electric-type Gym Leader looks at Helena and approaches her. She grabs hold of her hand and smiles at the young Researcher. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Ellie. It's good to see that Adam has someone looking after him."
"Thank you, Elesa," Helena gracefully accepted her comment.
Adam smiles before noticing a little green Pokemon hiding behind a lamppost. It hid when it noticed that he saw it watching them. "Helena, did you notice that someone followed you back from Route Sixteen?" He asked.
"Huh?" Adam points to the lamppost right behind them.
Elesa and Helena looked at where the Professor was pointing and saw the little green Pokemon trying to hide from them. "Is that a Petilili?" The blonde Gym Leader asked, recognizing the Pokemon right on the bat.
Kirlia instantly recognizes the Grass-type Pokemon hiding behind the lamppost. "Kirlia! Kirlia!" She patted Helena's shoulders.
"Hmm? What is it Kirlia?" Helena looks down at her Partner, pointing to the Petilili. She looks at the Bulb Pokemon, remembering her back in Lostlorn Forest. "Oh! I know that Petilili,"
"You do?" Adam asked,
"Yeah, we met in Lostlorn Forest not too long ago." Helena places Kirlia on the ground before heading over to the hiding Petilili.
Petilili pops her head out from behind the lamppost, seeing Helena kneeling before her. "Hello again, I didn't expect you to follow us back to Nimbasa City." Helena greeted the Grass-type Pokemon.
"Pet," Petilili blinks at the black-haired trainer, slowly coming out from behind the lamppost.
Helena gave the Bulb Pokemon a warm smile, "So, why have you followed me, Petilili? Don't you know that you are very far from your home and friends?" The black-haired trainer said to Petilili.
"Pet! Pet, Pet, Pet!" the Grass-type Pokemon hops around, stating her reasons why she followed her.
The black-haired trainer smiles at the Petilili below her. "So you want to come with me then, Petilili?" Helena asked, wanting to make sure if this is really what she wants.
Petilili nodded, still wanting to come with the young Researcher. "Pet!"
Kirlia looks at her Partner, confirming that Petilili wants to join them. "Kirlia," She said to Helena.
"It seems that Petilili wants to join you, Helena."' Helena looks back, seeing her Mentor standing behind her.
"I figured that was the case." The Ability User smiles, taking out a Pokeball from her pocket. Helena looks at the Bulb Pokemon, showing her the Pokeball. "So, Petilili, are you sure you want to come?" She asked again.
Kirlia approaches the Grass-type Pokemon as she looks at her. "Kirlia? Kirlia!"
"Pet!" Petilili nodded at both the Emotions and Helena's question, leaping to touch the Pokeball.
The Pokeball opened, sending a red light to Petilili engulfing her body before receding back with the Bulb Pokemon as well. It sways back and forth and ultimately chimes, indicating that Petilili was captured.
"Now that's one unique way of capturing Pokemon," Elesa commented, observing the young trainer's interaction with the Pokemon. "Only a few trainers I've seen actually asked a Pokemon if they want to join them. It's nice to see one doing that instead of capturing it right out of the blue." The Gym Leader commented before looking at Adam.
"I already had Clay lower Driftveil Drawbridge so you and Helena can cross without any problems," Elesa informed the two of the Bridge being down.
"That's great to hear, right Professor?" Helena and Kirlia look at the blue and blonde-haired Professor.
Adam nodded, smiling at his Apprentice. "Yes indeed, Helena. But it's getting a bit late." He motions to the rising Moon. "Let rest for the day and head towards Driftveil City in the morning."
"Yes Professor," Helena answered as they went to the Hotel for the night.
The next day, Elesa waves the two off, watching them heading to the Gate leading to Route Five.
Both Helena and Adam walk through Route Five with ease. They cross the Driftveil Drawbridge, looking out to see where the many cargo ships were unloading in Driftveil City. Soon enough the two manage to cross the bridge, now entering Driftveil City.

Helena was met by the smell of the Ocean, instantly reminded of Hoenn. She looks around, seeing many buildings built near the coast of Unova. There were Storage Units housing goods from other Regions in the World, and a busy port where ships bring in their imports, but the most attractive thing about Driftveil was the large marketplace.
Helena crossed the small stone bridge, looking at the marketplace just a few feet away. "Wow, look at the marketplace, doesn't remind you of the one in Slateport City, Kirlia?" The Ability User asked her Partner.
"Kirlia!" The Duel-type Pokemon nodded, being reminded of their home.
"Driftveil City's Marketplace is a place where commerce between every Region happens in Unova. Such as Revival Herbs," Adam steps behind his Apprentice, explaining Driftveil's market to her. "Many places have Revival Herb farms, but the ones in Unova are potent."
"I see," Helena nodded, learning something new today. If she were to compare Driftveil City to her old World, it must be the World Trade Center in New York.
Helena thought for a moment, she now realized the entire Unova City was practically New City. She chuckles at the comparison between the Worlds.
"What's so funny?" Adam asked, noticing the small chuckle Helena gave.
"Oh, just something I remember." Helena smiles at her Mentor. "So, where is Chargestone Cave? Is it near?" She asked.
Adam shook his head, pointing to the entrance of Route Six. "It's just past those buildings and through Route Six then you'll be able to see the entrance of Cave." The Professor explains, being familiar with the Region's layout.
"Then let's get going, Professor Juniper might be there already." The young Researcher said, urging her Mentor to follow.
The young Professor chuckles, leading Helena and Kirlia through Driftveil City.
The two took the chance to look around the City and the Market. Since they were going into Chargestone Cave, Helena bought some Medical Supplies and Potions for their Pokemon.
Helena smiles, hearing the lesson behind Chargestone Cave and its electric properties.

Just as the Student and Teacher pair headed towards Route Six, something caught their attention. "Clay, it's a pleasure meeting Driftveil City's honorable Gym Leader." A chilling voice greeted a Western-styled dark brown-haired businessman,
The businessman scoffs, glaring at the green-haired man. "Well, well to think the big ole' boss of Team Plasma showed up here." Clay, the Driftveil City Gym Leader glared at Ghetsis of Team Plasma.
The two turn around in the direction of the Driftveil Gym, seeing a familiar group of people standing in front of the Gym. "Team Plasma? Here?" Helena asked, looking at her Mentor.
"This can't be good, what are they doing here?" Adam asked, frowning at the sight of them.
"They are here for the members we've apprehended yesterday in the Cold Storage Units." Helena and Adam turn around, seeing Hilda with a black-haired studious boy making their way to them.
"Hilda! It's been a while." Helena greeted the brunette trainer she met in Castelia City.
Hilda smiles at Helena, feeling like it was forever since they last spoke. "Hey there, Helena, how are you doing? Did you catch one of the Petililies we were talking about?" She asked the young Researcher.
Helena giggled, showing her Petilili's Pokeball. "Yes, I did. She followed me back to Nimbasa City from Lostlorn Forest." She explains to her friend.
"Hilda, I'm sorry to cut this short but…" The black-haired trainer points in the direction of the Gym, indicating the importance of the situation.
"Right, sorry Cheren." Hilda looks at Adam and Helena, giving them a serious expression. "Professor, Helena we need to check something over there. If you want, you can join us." She ushers them.
The trainer, Cheren, nodded, looking at the pair. "The bigger numbers, the better things will turn out if things go south." He commented, wanting them to join them.
Adam looks over to Helena, wanting her perspective on this. "Helena, what do you think?"
Helena ponders for a second before giving her answer. "I think we should go. I don't want any trouble to burst out for the people of Driftveil City."
The Professor nodded as they joined Hilda and Cheren to deal with Team Plasma.
In front of the Driftveil Gym, Ghetsis was still negotiating with the Gym Leader about their captured comrades. "Now, Clay we are reasonable people. All we want is to release our people back into our custody." Ghetsis smiles,
"Like hell, I'll ever do that. Your buddies were stealin' other folks' Pokemon just the other day." Clay stated, standing his ground against Ghetsis's request to release his people. "And I don't take kindly of those things."
Ghetsis smiles at Clay, "I believe there was some misunderstanding here." He noticed the young trainers from Castelia City coming over to watch their conversation. He then smiles at the young black-haired girl standing among them.
Ghetsis returns his attention back to the scruffy Gym Leader, "We only free Pokemon from those who wish to mistreat them, not from those who care for them." He smiles at Clay.
Clay scoffs at what the Leader of Team Plasma said. He crossed his arms, smirking at him, "Well that mighty sounds real nice if it's true." He retorted. "I may not talk purty, but at least I'm an honest man."
"You talk really nice, but what you sayin' kinda sounds like lyin'." The Ground-type Gym Leader said, not buying the whole nice act from the green-haired man. Clay then raised his head at him, wanting to get to the bigger picture. "So, Ghetsis, entertain me. What are ya'll tryin' to say?"
Ghetsis closes his eyes, "We have no interest in Driftveil City. We have many, many more members besides those who are here…" He smiles at him,
Clay closes his eyes, trying to tell if he's lying or not. But this man was a book in a different language. He opens his eyes, looking at the Leader of Team Plasma. "Well, I can't tell you're lyin' or not, but I reckon you've just won this fight without a fight." He admits his defeat,
The Gym Leader looks over to Officer Jenny and her squad. "Officer Jenney, release 'em," Clay ordered the Chief of Police.
Jenney turns to her Officers, signaling them to release the prisoners.
"Hrrmph, take'em and git," Clay huffed as the purple Sage and the other Team Plasma Grunts approached their Leader.
"A decision worthy of a businessman called the Miner King." Ghetsis smiles, taking the winnings of a fightless battle. "Your grasp of the situation is outstanding,"
The purple Sage approach Ghetsis, grateful for his help. "Lord Ghetsis…thank you, thank you very much!" Zinzolin thanked the Leader of Team Plasma from the bottom of his heart. "I was worried that they won't release me."
Ghetsis smiles at his fellow Sage, "Worry not, my fellow servant of the King. We are two of the Seven Sages, are we not?" He looks at Zinzolin before returning his attention back to Clay and the others. "Well then, everyone, I expect that we will meet again somewhere in the near future." His red eye then drifts over to Helena, smiling at her.
"And especially you, young maiden." Ghetsis smiles at Helena, "I hope we meet in better circumstances," He said to the young Ability User.
Adam and Hilda step in front of Helena, blocking his view from the green-haired man.
"I said git, leave that little lady alone and get out of my City." Clay steps in, noticing that Ghetsis has taken a liking to a peculiar trainer that joined Hilda and Cheren.
Ghetsis chuckles, walking past the group with Team Plasma following right behind them. (End song)
Clay sighs, approaching the group. "I don't trust that man one bit. It boils my blood than a wet settin' Torchic to let his folks go like that." The Gym Leader huffs, finally realizing who was standing before him. "My, if it isn't Adam Ceder, watcha doing back in Unova? It's been at least a few years since I last saw ya."
"Same old Clay, I was just passing by Driftveil City when we saw Team Plasma in front of your Gym," Adam explains to his old friend.
"And who is this little Lady? Don't tell me she's your Daughter?" Clay asked, getting serious at this point.
Adam chuckles, waving his hand at the Gym Leader. "No, no, nothing like that. She's my new Apprentice from Hoenn." The Professor explains. "I'm teaching her the ropes of being a Researcher."
Helena smiles at the forty-year-old man, "Nice to meet you, my name is Helena Potter." She greeted the Gym Leader.
Clay pushes up his hat, "Mighty nice to meet you, little Lady. The name's Clay Brownfield and I'm the Gym Leader around these parts." The Businessman introduced himself before turning his attention to the two trainers he met yesterday. "And you two, sorry to let Team Plasma go after you tracked 'em down, fellas."
Hilda shakes her head, understanding why he has to do it. "No, we understand. If I were in your shoes, then I would've done the same thing." The young trainer stated.
Cheren nodded, "Yes, I agree with Hilda on that standpoint. I swear, Team Plasma is a complete bother." He pushed up his glasses,
"Much appreciate it." Clay chuckles, still a bit peeved that he let those Extremists go. "Say, since you two are already he, why don't we cheer ourselves up with a Gym Battle? After all, isn't that what ya'll came here for?" He asked the two Challengers.
Hilda and Cheren nodded, seeing there was no better time than the present for it. "Sure," they respond to the Gym Leader.
Clay gave a confident smirk at the two Challengers, turning to the entrance of his Gym. "Don't keep me waiting," he then eyes the blue and blonde man. "It's nice seein' you, Adam. Until then," He headed back inside the Gym, waiting for Hilda and Cheren to come.
"I'm heading inside, I've been preparing for this Battle since yesterday." Cheren went inside, not bothering to introduce himself to Helena or the Professor.
Hilda looks over to Helena and the Professor, "Sorry about Cheren, he's antsy when it comes to Gym Battles." She smiles at them. "I'm sure he's going to introduce himself at one point in our journey."
Helena giggles, feeling like she has seen that attitude before. "Oh, I know that feeling." She commented as the two laughed.
"So, you're heading to Chargestone Cave, right?" Hilda asked, seeing that's the direction where she saw Professor Juniper and Bianca heading. "Professor Juniper and Bianca went in that direction yesterday. I was sure they camped out there last night."
"Thank you, Hilda, for telling us." Hilda nodded at the Professor as he looked at Helena. "Well, Helena, let's get going and see what Aurea and Bianca are up to," Adam said, changing the subject from the rather serious situation.
Helena nodded before looking at Hilda, about to go into the Driftveil Gym. "Well, we better get going. Good luck in your Gym Battle, Hilda." She wished her friend the best of luck in her Gym Battle.
"Thank you, Helena, and have fun with Professor Juniper." The brunette trainer said, "I'll be there once I've got myself a Quake Badge from Clay." Hilda said, heading inside the Gym.
Adam steps forward in the direction of Route Six, looking back at his Apprentice/Assistant. "Ready, Helena?"
"Yes, I'm ready." With that said the two head for Chargestone Cave to meet up with Professor Juniper and Bianca.
