Ch 61 Dragonspiral Tower

After fixing up Professor Juniper's Laboratory, Helena, Adam, and Professor Cedric Juniper stood outside the door. The bronze-haired Professor steps forward to the young Gym Leader.

"Thank you again for helping with cleaning my Laboratory, Skyla. I appreciate it." Cedric smiles at the Flying-type Gym Leader,

"It's not a problem, just be sure to be careful when you encounter Team Plasma once more when heading to Icirrus City," Skyla stated, not wanting any harm to befall the elderly Professor. "You have a knack when trouble arises,"

Swanna nodded, agreeing with her Partner on the Professor's habit of finding trouble.

Cedric merely laughs at the two's comments, taking it with pride. "As a Professor who seeks adventure and solving mysteries, that's a nice compliment coming from you two!" He laughs.

Helena smiles while holding Kirlia in her hands. "Is he always like this, Professor Ceder?" She asked her Mentor beside her.

"Kirlia?" The Duel-type was also curious just like her Partner.

"Yep, you get used to his eccentric personality; after a while it's uplifting," Adam stated, reminiscing the time he spent studying under Professor Juniper's wing. He was happy to hear that his former Mentor has allowed them to travel with him to Dragonspiral Tower for his research on the Twin Heroes of Legend.

Cedric looks at the Sun, seeing that they have a few hours of daylight. "We better get a move on; we have someone to meet at Icirrus City." The old Professor stated to the Gym Leader.

Skyla nodded, understanding that the group of Researchers had somewhere to be. "I better get going too. A lot of work being a Gym Leader and all," The maroon-haired trainer waved her hand at the group with a smile. "Have fun, you guys!"

Cedric turns to his Colleagues after Skyla left. "Let's get going you two! We have a Tower to research!" He exclaims with excitement.

The three Researchers made their way to Twist Mountain, stopping near the entrance of the cave.

Helena and Kirlia look at the Mountain, instantly reminded of the Mountains back in Hoenn. "This looks bigger than Mt Pyre and Mt Chimney." She commented.

"Kirlia," Kirlia agrees with her Partner,

Adam chuckles at the comparison between the Mountains. "You may think that Twist Mountain is bigger than the Mountains in Hoenn, but this one is a bit smaller compared to Mt Pyre and Mt Chimney." The blue and blonde-haired Professor explains. "But they do share the same thing in common with each other, Helena, Kirlia."

Helena and Kirlia look at the Professor with a smile on his face. "What is it, Professor Ceder?" The black-haired girl asked,

"That you can get easily lost when you enter the Mountains' Caves," Cedric informed Helena of the common traits that all Mountainous areas in all the Regions. He then looks back at Twist Mountain, "Though I wouldn't worry about getting lost, as long as we stay on the path that Clay created for traveling trainers on their Journeys."

Helena blinks, a bit surprised that a Gym Leader/Miner would do something like that for trainers. "Clay really did that for the trainers wanting to cross the Mountain?" She asked.

"Even though Clay has a tough exterior, he genuinely cares for the safety of the trainers in the Region," Adam explains to his Apprentice,

"I see, that's awfully kind of him to do that," Helena commented.

"Kirlia," The Emotions Pokemon added, smiling that there are People who genuinely care for others.

Walking forward, Cedric turns to the two, "Let's get going, it'll only take us a few hours to transverse the Mountain." The bronze-haired Professor explains, leading them inside the Mountain.

The three continued their way into Twist Mountain, following the signs that Clay left for the trainers. Helena and Kirlia saw many Pokemon living in the Mountain, mainly the inhabitants were Rock-type and Ice-type Pokemon, but nonetheless intriguing.

Eventually, the group reached the end of the path that Clay made for travelers. They exited Twist Mountain, entering a new scenery on the other side.

A gust of cold wind blew right in front of Helena and Kirlia's faces. Both shivered at the cold breeze they just felt, "I-Is it me or is it a bit cold here?" Helena asked, even though she was wearing a sweater, she felt like she was wearing a plain shirt. And the fact that she's wearing a skirt doesn't help one bit,

"Kirlia…" Kirlia agrees with her Partner, snuggling up to her to keep warm.

"Ah, sorry, up here in the northern part of Unova gets cold. During the warmer seasons, it's like walking through an aircon room," Adam explains to his Apprentice, "However, the colder seasons, like we're in now are very cold."

Helena looks confused about what her Mentor told her. "Then how come it was a bit warmer in from the other end of Twist Mountain?" She asked the two Professors next to her.

Cedric smiles, answering the young Ability User's question. "That's simple, Helena. It's because there's a place where Ice-type Pokemon gather near Icirrus City and Twist Mountain that causes this peculiar area to be colder." The Professor explains why it's colder in Icirrus City.

"So the cold that Ice-type Pokemon generate within their bodies can affect the temperature of an area if there is a large gathering of them?" Helena deduced based on what Cedric informed her about the temperature.

The bronze-haired Professor laughs, happy to hear that answer from the young Researcher. "Excellent, that's exactly right." Cedric closes his eyes, "Ice-type Pokemon's body temperature is below the twenties or more depending on the species; along with the Ability Blizzard and a large gathering of them tends to influence the temperature of an area."

Cedric turns to Adam, smiling at him. "You picked a wonderful Apprentice, Adam my boy."

"Of course, I have an eye for People, Professor. Now shall we head to Icirrus City?" Adam asked to which everyone agreed.

ICIRRUS CITY: Remastered (feat. StevenMix ) ► Pokémon Black & White Music

The three Researchers walk up the stairs, leading into Icirrus City. Upon arrival, they were greeted by a small Town instead of a bustling City like the ones they'd been to.

Icirrus City wasn't considered a City in her books, it's more of a Town than a City with large enough Cottages that's big enough to fit a Family in.

There was a Pokemon Center near the entrance of the City and a Town Square where People and Pokemon danced to a merry tune.

Near the end of the City were statues of Pokeballs made of an ice material. There was an entrance built right inside the Mountainside, above the entrance was the Pokemon League Logo indicating that was the Icirrus City Gym.

"I know it's a bit quaint for a City, but it's the perfect place for a quiet life," Adam explains to his Apprentice, "But don't let the quiet life here fool you, even if the People and Pokemon live peacefully, Whenever a Gym Challenger appears, then things get wild."

Just when Helena was about to comment on her Mentor's statement, familiar trainers came running out of the Gym. "Huh? Isn't that Hilda and Cheren?" Helena asked, seeing the two trainers stopping in front of the Gym.

Kirlia looks forward, seeing the friends they met before in Castelia City. "Kirlia!" She exclaims happily.

"Oh? You know Hilda, Helena, Adam?" Cedric asked, smiling that they knew the same person.

"That's right, we met her when we first arrived in Castelia City, Professor." The blue and blonde-haired Professor explains to his former Mentor.

Cedric looks over to the two trainers, noticing another person coming out of the Gym. He has light blue hair and an ice-themed Kimono revealing his bare right pectoral and arm. He wore a blue mask that extends upwards at the back and slip on shoes. "Oh, it's Brycen. I wonder what's going on over there?" Cedric asked himself, observing the three trainers.

The man called Brycen turns around, seeing two familiar faces. "Well, well, if it isn't Professor Juniper and Adam or Professor Ceder from what I heard." The light-blue-haired trainer greeted the two men coming his way.

Both Cheren and Hilda look at where Brycen was looking and saw their friend and the Professors. "Professor Ceder, Helena! I didn't realize you were coming to Icirrus City," Cheren said, greeting the two trainers.

"Cheren, it's been a while." Helena greeted the black-haired trainer, "Did you come here to Challenge the Icirrus City Gym?" She asked the young trainer.

Cheren nodded, showing the Freeze Badge he just attained a little while ago. "As a matter of fact, both me and Hilda just received the Freeze Badge from Brycen." He motions to the light-blue-haired Gym Leader beside them.

Brycen inclined his head to the young black-haired girl and her Partner. "A pleasure to meet you, especially you again, Adam, Professor." The light blue-haired Gym Leader looks at the Professors. "I'm sorry to make this short, but I'm Brycen the Icirrus City; currently Team Plasma has blown their way into Dragonspiral Tower."' He informed the trainers. (End Song)

Suddenly a loud explosion caught the attention of everyone in the City. Many of the residents were in a panic, hearing a high pitch roar echoing in the air.

"W-What was that?" A female trainer asked.

"Something's happening at Dragonspiral Tower," Another trainer stated, pointing to the looming Ruin behind Icirrus City.

"D-Did T-Team Plasma do something?" A younger trainer asked, holding onto her Pokemon.

Brycen frowns, hearing the cry of a Pokemon on the very top of the Ruin. "Team Plasma…Cheren, Hilda, I'm going ahead." The Ice-type Gym Leader told the young Challengers.

Cheren steps forward, wanting to be with Brycen. "I'm going to, whatever Team Plasma is doing up there, it'll be a complete bother." The black-haired trainer stated before hearing footsteps coming behind them.

"Did you guys hear that roar!? It was loud!" Bianca appeared, rushing towards the group.

"Bianca, what are you doing here?" Hilda asked, seeing her Childhood friend huffing.

The blonde trainer huffs, catching her breath before answering their question. "Professor Juniper as me to deliver something to her Father, Professor Juniper…" Bianca told her the reason for coming to the City. "(Wow, that sounds confusing when I say it out loud.)" She whispers.

Bianca then shook her head and turned to Cedric. "Anyways, Professor. Here are the documents that Professor Juniper asks me to bring to you." She handed the bronze-haired Professor a folder with important documents. "She said it's important

Cedric took the folder, quickly looking over them. "Thank you, my dear….now let's see-" He paused, realizing what was contained in the documents. "This is…"

"Professor, what is it?" Adam asked his former Mentor.

Cedric closes the folder before looking at everyone. "Adam, I want you to be with me in looking over these documents." He said, looking down at the folder. "My Daughter has sent me something very crucial,"

Adam nodded, understanding the importance of Professor Juniper's request. He looks over to Helena, knowing that she will lend her Assistance to Brycen and the others. "Helena, be careful at Dragonspiral Tower, okay?" The blue and blonde-haired Professor said, wanting her to be careful.

Helena nodded, being careful when dealing with Team Plasma. "I will, Professor."

"Um, if I may," Bianca raised her hand, "M-My Pokemon and I aren't strong enough to Battle Team Plasma, but I can act as your Bodyguard." She offered the two Professor,

Cedric looks at Adam who just nods at Bianca's suggestion. "Of course, it's relieving to hear that you're offering to help to protect us." The Bronze-haired Professor stated.

Adam nodded, turning in the direction of the Pokemon Center. "Let's head to the Pokemon Center to start looking." The Professor said as the three head toward the Pokemon Center,

"Let's get going everyone," Brycen said, leading the group to Dragonspiral Tower to face Team Plasma.

Dragonspiral Tower

N huffs, looking at his Partner; a bipedal fox-like Pokemon with black fur and a red mane, and claws. "Zoroark, be careful. We're facing one of Unova's Legendary Pokemon, his power is on another level." The green-haired trainer informed his Partner.

The Dark-type Pokemon nodded, taking his Partner/Friend's advice.

Both stood before a large pure white Dragon Pokemon with his tail and the tips of his hair glowing a flame color. The Dragon/Fire-type Pokemon gave a high pitch roar at his opponents after being recently awoken.

"I see…" N closes his eyes, listening to the voice of the Legendary Pokemon of Truth. He opens them after hearing what he is requesting of him.

N opens his eyes, staring at the Legendary Dragon before him. "Great, Reshiram, the one who represents Truth! I seek you to spread the Truth about People and Pokemon, the Truth of Pokemon Liberation!" He announced, determined to spread the teachings of Team Plasma.

Reshiram gave a high pitch roar, replying to the trainer before him.

"Very well, I shall prove myself to use your Power, Great Reshiram." N looks at Zoroark, seeking his assistance.

Behind the King of Team Plasma was an old man with grey hair and a beard. He wore a maroon robe like the ones in the Seven Sages of Team Plasma.

The Sage smiles brightly, witnessing a sight only some would dream of. "At last, our King's dream of a perfect World will come true!" Giallo of the Seven Sages exclaims, holding his arms out in praise. "Pokemon Liberation is upon us; Team Plasma's mission will soon be fulfilled!"

"Lord Giallo!" A Grunt came up the stairs in a hast, "Icirrus City's Gym Leader, Brycen has entered the Tower! He has three Pokemon trainers assisting him!"

Giallo held his hand at the Grunt, "Fortify security on each floor! We must not let Brycen and those trainers reach the tip!" The Sage ordered the Grunt.

The Grunt obliges, returning to the lower levels, to inform the rest of the Grunts.

The maroon-robed Sage looks at his king, informing him of the situation. "Lord N, we shall deal with the interlopers. Focus on your test with Reshiram." Giallo and his Bodyguards went to the level below, taking position in case they broke through.

N frowns, assuming that Brycen has sought help from Hilda and that other trainer, Cheren. Every time Team Plasma was doing something, it's those two who will try and stop them. He then let out a sigh of relief, knowing Helena was still in Mistralton City. "After this, I will tell you the Truth, Helena." He said to himself before proceeding with Reshiram's test.

"Beartic!" A bipedal Polar bear Pokemon with ice crystals as a beard let out a freezing Ice Beam at the Grunt's Pokemon.

"Great work, Beartic!" Brycen smiles at his Partner Pokemon,

Cheren held out his hand, "Stoutland, use Superpower to clear a path!" The black-haired trainer commanded his Parter.

"Stoutland!" A large dog-like Pokemon with a long mustache dashed forward in a brownish aura. The Normal-type slams into the frozen Pokemon, breaking the ice and clearing a path.

Cheren turns around as Helena heals Kirlia after taking a hit from a powerful Poison Jab from a Trubbish. Hilda was providing cover for Helena with her newly Evolved Emboar. "You two go ahead," He said to the girls.

Brycen nodded, looking back at the young female trainers. "Indeed, Cheren and I have this place covered." The Gym Leader supported the young trainer next to him. "Go and stop Team Plasma."

Helena and Hilda looked at each other and nodded, "Alright, we won't let you down, Brycen." The brunette trainer stated.

"Hatenna, help us out!" Helena took out Hatenna from her Pokeball,

"Hatenna!" The Calm Pokemon cheered, landing on Helena's shoulders.

"Hatenna, I need your help in Battling Team Plasma with everyone." The black-haired trainer explains to her Partner. "Can you do it?"

The Duel-type nodded, obliging to her trainer's request. "Hat!"

Emboar and Hilda walked behind Helena and her Partner, ready to go. "Ready, Helena?"

The black-haired trainer nodded, ready to face Team Plasma. "Ready,"

Both girls and their Partners took the path that both Beartic and Stoutland cleared. They took the stairwell, leading to the upper levels of the Ruin.

They encountered many Team Plasma Grunts on the way to the top. Emboar used Flamethrower and Hatenna use Dazzling Gleam to clear the way for them.

Each time they encountered Grunts, they also heard a high pitch roar coming after an explosion. The explosion caused the entire Tower to rumble,

Upon reaching the third level stairs, an even bigger explosion caused the girls to stumble on the stairs.

Luckily Hatenna caught both Hilda and Helena with Psychic while Emboar used his powerful arms to help them back on their feet.

"Phew, that…was a close one." Hilda chuckles, patting the Fire/Fighting-type on the arm. "Thank you, Emboar."

"Emboar," The bipedal Pig-like Pokemon nodded, agreeing with his trainer.

Helena smiles, patting her Partner on the head. "And thank you too, Hatenna. I'm not sure what we would've done without your Psychic." She commented.

"Hat!" The Duel-type nodded, taking in the compliment from her Partner.

Hilda looks up, hearing more rumbling from the top. "Things aren't looking good up there," She commented.

"Yeah, what do you think is going on up there?" Helena asked her brunette friend.

The brunette trainer shrugs, "Not sure, but one thing's for sure, Team Plasma is up to something bad and we need to stop whatever it is." Hilda stated, not wanting to live in a World without Pokemon Partners.

The young Ability User nodded, looking at the second to last floor. "I'm betting a Sage is up there waiting for us," Helena commented.

"You're probably right," Hilda agrees before asking the main question. "So, how do you want to do things?"

On the second floor, Giallo held his hand to his Bodyguards issuing orders. "We are the last line of defense in our King's goals. We must not let anyone go further upon this point!" The maroon-robed Sage stated.

"Yes, Lord Giallo." The Grunts responded,

Suddenly a small Pokemon jumps up from the stairwell entrance, "Hatenna, Dazzling Gleam!" Helena's voice called out.

"HAT!" The Calm Pokemon's body began to emit a shining light before releasing it to the Grunts and their Pokemon. Most were taken out due to their typing.

The girls and Emboar rushed out of the stairwell, avoiding the first Grunts.

Giallo saw the girls heading towards the stairwell behind them. He held out his hand, issuing his orders. "Stop those girls!"

Two Grunts with their Partners went into action. "Krokorok, use Sandtomb!" One male Grunt ordered the Duel-type.

"Liepard, use Shadow Claw!" A female Grunt ordered her Partner.

"Liepard!" The Dark-type Pokemon leaps forward, her claws took on a shadowy aura.

"Krokorok!" The Desert Croc Pokemon swung his arms, creating a gust of sandy winds.

Hilda quickly took action with Emboar, "Emboar, Blast Burn!" She cried out.

"Em…" The Mega Fire Pig Pokemon leans back before leaning forward, causing the flames around his neck to spread across the frontal area. "BOAR!"

Giallo and the others quickly moved out of the way, not wanting to get burned.

Hilda turns to Helena, "Now's your chance!"

Helena with Hatenna on her shoulders took the opportunity made by Hilda and Emboar to climb the final stairwell. "Right,"

Giallo on the floor shook his head before noticing Helena climbing the stairwell to their King. "Stop her!" He ordered someone to stop the young Researcher.

Helena huffs, almost reaching the top when a looming shadow shrouds her.

A larger and red version of Krokorok appeared behind her, "Krookodile!" The Imtimadtion Pokemon roars,

"Krookodile, use Crunch!" The Grunt ordered from below the stairs.

"Krookodile!" The Ground/Dark-type Pokemon roars, his snout took on a dark hue, and rushed for Helena.

Hilda looks at Helena, face paling at the sight. "HELENA!"

Helena closes her eyes, only to feel Hatenna leaving her shoulders. "Hatenna, no!" She shouted to her Partner, slamming into the Duel-type.

Krookodile growls, feeling a force under him. "Krook…" The Intimidation Pokemon growls before seeing a shining light glowing beneath him. The light shines brightly before being pushed back. "DILE!"

"Hatenna?" Helena watches as her Pokemon landed on the step, glowing a blue hue.

Hatenna began to glow brightly as the small hat on her head grew bigger, her arms extended and a little body dangling out. Soon the light dispels, revealing a new form.

"Hattrem." The new form cried out in joy.

Hilda laughs, seeing the new Evolution of Hatenna before her eyes. "HA! Hatenna has Evolved!" She laughs.

"Hatenna?" Helena asked as her Partner turns to her.

"Hattrem!" The newly Evolved Pokemon leaps into Helena's arms, smiling at her.

Helena laughs, seeing her Partner Evolved into her next Evolutionary stage. "Hatenna, you Evolved into an Hattrem!"' She cheered for joy,

The Serene Pokemon smiles happily at the joy her Partner is showing. "Hattrem, Hat!" Hattrem cheered before hearing Hilda call for them.

"Helena! It's great your Hatenna Evolved but remember what we're here to do!" Hilda reminded her friend of their purpose in coming here.

Helena shook her head, realizing they were still in Dragonspiral Tower. "R-Right, sorry." She looks at her Partner, ready to continue. "Hattrem, let's go."

Hattrem nodded as the two continue their way up the stairs.

(Insert Dragonspiral Tower (Top): Remastered ► Pokémon Black & White)

Upon reaching the top, Helena and Hattrem slowly enter the top and final floor of the Ruin. What happens next was jaw-dropping,

A pure white Dragon Pokemon stood in front of a gaping hole leading outside. A Dragon that was only spoken about in Legend and Story,

However, that wasn't the only thing currently present in the room. There, standing before the towering Legendary Pokemon was the back of a familiar person.

"So, you have reached the peaks of Dragonspiral Tower," N spoke, not even turning around to face the person behind him. "I knew you would make it here on your own power."

N looks up, basking in Reshiram's presence after earning his trust. "I have earned the trust of Unova's Legendary Dragon." The green-haired trainer said, "The one who represents Truth, the White Dragon that will truly make Team Plasma's dreams-my dreams into reality."

"What do you think, Hilda? The beauty that is the Pokemon who fought beside the eldest Brother who represents Truth." N said with a smile. "Soon, I shall liberate Pokemon from their Pokeballs and accomplish my duty as King of Team Plasma."

"K-King of Team Plasma?" N's eyes shot open, hearing the voice of a person whom he didn't want to be here. He quickly turns around, hoping his ears deceived him.

There stood Helena, holding onto her Partner with disbelief in her eyes. "N-N…y-you're the leader of Team Plasma?" She asked with hurt in her voice.

"H-Helena…" N said her name, unable to say anything else. (End song)
