Jealous

"You never told me Sophie was coming here." AJ said, standing in the kitchen later on that night, tossing some salad in a bowl whilst Punk sat at the table looking through paperwork for the coffee shop such as electricity bills and other fun stuff.

"You saw her?" Punk lifted his head and looked over at her.

"No, but Lyla and Becca did." AJ said bluntly.

"I didn't know she was coming." Punk explained, "She just showed up."

"Bit weird." AJ concluded, "To be that involved with your ex."

"I wouldn't say we're involved." Punk defended, "This is the first I've seen or heard from her since she showed up the last time."

"Was she just stopping by for a visit?" AJ asked, sitting the bowl of salad on the table with a loud thud as Punk watched her closely.

"Are you jealous?" He realised, watching as she brought over the spaghetti they were having.

"No. Of course I'm not jealous." AJ scoffed, taking a seat across from him whilst he moved his paperwork to the side.

"You are." Punk said.

"I'm not." AJ stated, looking at him with narrowed brows which convinced him to drop it and pick up his fork.

"She wasn't just stopping by for a visit." Punk continued, "She had something to tell me."

"What?" AJ asked.

"My brother is working on an appeal. To get his sentence reduced." Punk said, "Law firms in Chicago are pretty gossipy. She managed to find out through a different firm who's representing him."

"How could he get his sentenced reduced?" AJ shook her head with confusion, "Has new evidence come to light?"

"No, I don't think so. Sophie said he's going down the mental health route. Pleading delirium or something. Plus, he's had good behaviour the past few years in prison, which works in his favour." He said.

"Being delirious doesn't mean you go out and sell people street Valium." AJ scoffed, "Dealing drugs is calculated and well-thought out. Anyone with a brain knows that."

"You'd be surprised what the criminal justice system buys into." Punk said, "It wouldn't be impossible for him to succeed with the appeal. A big reach. But not impossible."

"And Sophie had driven all the way here to tell you? She couldn't just pick up the phone?" AJ questioned with attitude.

"I asked her to look into Craig Porter." He said as AJ sat her fork down and looked across at him, "She'll have sources."

"Look into him for what, exactly?" AJ questioned.

"I don't know, to see if he maybe had a connection with my brother in prison. Maybe the attacks were ordered from my brother. He's trying to get out of prison. Maybe he wants my attention or something." Punk shrugged.

"If he wanted your attention why not just write a letter or call?" AJ scoffed, "Why send one of his prison friends to throw paint on your shop and attack Shiv?" She questioned.

"Because he's always been cruel." Punk said, "Always enjoyed playing mind games and messing with people. He did it to me my whole life." He shook his head as AJ looked across at him.

"What exactly can Sophie find out or look for?" AJ questioned.

"I'm hoping she can confirm that my brother and Craig were friendly in prison." Punk said, "Lawyers are in and out of prisons all the time. She'll manage to find out somehow." He said.

"Do you really want to involve yourself with this?" AJ asked, "Shouldn't we just let the police do their job. There's an APB out on Craig. He'll be found eventually."

"None of us have any idea who he even is." Punk emphasised, "Which means he's probably working for someone. And I'd bet good money that it's my brother." He said, "If my brother finds out that I have a good thing going here, he'll make it his mission to destroy it. Believe me."

"But you said that you and him left things on decent terms." AJ said, "That you were civil with one another."

"Yeah and he's been sitting in a cell for three years, cooking up some narrative that I'm to blame for everything gone wrong in his life." Punk said, "That's how he operates."

"I don't see how he could ever get out of prison early. He practically killed someone." AJ said, "And if he can't get out of prison then you have nothing to worry about." She said.

"He can still find a way to mess with me. Craig's attacks might be his doing." Punk shook his head with frustration as AJ watched him rub his forehead.

She knew it was stressing him out. She knew that when he even so much as thought about his brother, he got stressed, so for him to realise that his brother was possibly responsible for these attacks… she knew he had to be frustrated and angry.

"You should have told the police about your concerns about your brother being involved." AJ said, "I don't understand why Sophie is getting involved with it."

"Because she could find out information that I can't." Punk said, "And she showed up here to let me know about my brother appealing for a reduced sentence."

"Which she could have called you about." AJ added again.

"Is that really a problem?" Punk asked tiredly.

"It's just weird. She has a habit of just showing up here unannounced. I know I haven't had a lot of exes but I'm pretty sure you don't just show up in each other's lives whenever you feel like it. Especially when one of you is in a different relationship now." AJ emphasised.

"She was just trying to keep me in the loop about my brother. I don't see why that's an issue. I told her you were pregnant." Punk said, "She's not got some ulterior motive."

"How do you know that?" AJ shook her head, shoving her dinner to the side and standing up.

"Where are you going? You haven't eaten anything." Punk said.

"I'm not hungry." AJ said, "I just want to get some sleep. I've been on my feet all day." She said, heading off into the bedroom where Punk followed her.

"Why do I feel like I've done something wrong here?" Punk asked, following after her into the bedroom.

"Why does it feel like you're conspiring with your ex? Would you have even brought it up if I didn't?" AJ turned to him angrily.

"Conspiring? She showed up here without telling me. And yes, I would have brought it up eventually." Punk said, "I just asked her for some help, to try and figure out the reason for these attacks."

"Why would she even come here? What the hell is in it for her?" AJ shook her head, "Surely she must know how much you hate your brother, so why would she come all the way here to tell you he's working on an appeal?"

"Because she thought I should know, I don't know." Punk shrugged cluelessly.

"Because she clearly still has feelings for you." AJ said.

"No, I really don't think she does." Punk said, "What's gotten into you? Why would you be thinking that there's something going on?"

"I know there's not something going on but maybe she doesn't see it like that." AJ said.

"I told her about you, and the pregnancy." Punk said, "She knows I'm happier now. Living here with you, running the coffee shop."

"Because she knows you so well? I mean… what would I know? I've only known you for less than a year." She scoffed as Punk folded his arms.

"You still know me better than Sophie ever did." Punk assured her, "I'm not setting up some sort of friendship bond with her. We're not going to start texting one another or meeting up for coffees." He said, "She's just… my private investigator." He shrugged as AJ screwed her eyes up at him.

"Your what?" She questioned, "I'm sorry… did you just name a porno movie?"

"What? No." Punk scoffed, "Oh my God, why are we even fighting right now?"

"We're not fighting." AJ hissed, storming off into the bathroom and slamming the door shut behind her as Punk rolled his eyes, watching her storm back out a second later, "She doesn't need to get involved. She shouldn't be doing any of your dirty work for you. This is a police matter. And as for your brother… he'll never get out on an appeal. He literally killed someone." AJ shook her head.

"All she's doing is seeing if my brother was friendly with Craig in prison. That's it." Punk said, "You're being silly."

"I am not being silly." AJ scoffed, "How would you like it if I had an ex just showing up randomly to have coffee with me and some chit chat?"

"That's not what it was." Punk said.

"And then to have all the girls in the shop tell me. I felt stupid." AJ said.

"Why?" Punk questioned.

"I don't know!" AJ yelled, "I felt stupid, and I wanted to scream and then I wanted to cry and I don't know I just… had a shit day." She exclaimed, running her hand through her hair.

"I'm sorry you had a shit day, but… you're overreacting with Sophie. She had a coffee, we talked about my brother, and then she left." Punk said.

"I am not overreacting." AJ gasped.

"Ok, then you're jealous." Punk shrugged as AJ glared at him, "Which I don't know why, when you know that I'm in love with you and-" He stopped talking when AJ shoved him on the chest, causing him to stubble back a little as he raised a brow with confusion.

"I am not jealous." AJ made clear, "I am hormonal. I am extra hormonal because there are two inside of me." She pointed to her stomach as Punk gulped, "But I am not jealous." She warned him.

"Yeah, you're totally not acting like a jealous person right now." Punk nodded as AJ shoved him on the chest again, which only made him laugh a little.

"I am not jealous." She warned, stepping towards him and yanking him in towards her with the loop of his jeans, leaning up and kissing him roughly as he kissed back with surprise, placing his hands on her waist as they began tearing at each other's clothes.

He ripped open the buttoned blouse she was wearing, pushing it down her shoulders and off her arms whilst she unbuttoned his jeans, all the while they kissed hard and began moving towards the bed.

"This is something a jealous person would do." Punk murmured against her lips.

"Shut up." AJ murmured back, pushing her own jeans down, leaving her in just her underwear whilst he got rid of his own jeans, just in time for her to push him back onto the bed.

She climbed over him on the bed, brushing her hair to one side and leaning down to kiss him again whilst his hands ran up her back and unclasped her bra which she eventually tossed aside.

"If this was what you wanted, you should have said." He chuckled a little, rolling them over so he was on top of her, lowering his head down to her neck which he began kissing, "We didn't need to have the fight." He added whilst sucking at her pulse point, kissing all the way down to her collarbone and back up to her lips.

"What's the fun in that?" She moaned, cupping the back of his head whilst he kissed her neck, eventually going further down and swirling his tongue around her sensitive breasts, making her moan and hiss just at the touch.

He began pulling down her panties whilst kissing at her breasts, tangling his hand down between them and parting her folds to get to her clit, stroking it steadily as she rolled her head back and moaned out with pleasure.

"You still jealous?" He asked, lifting his head from her breasts to look at her whilst he used his fingers on her, smiling as he saw her head rolled back, hearing her gasps and moans.

"I want you inside me." She whispered, grabbing his arm desperately before pushing him to the side and rolling over to get on top of him, pushing his boxers down as Punk watched, leaning on his elbows.

"Put me inside you then." He challenged as she looked down at him, stroking him up and down a few times before sinking herself down on him until he was buried to the hilt, "Fuck." Punk leaned back.

"I'm still mad at you." She said, leaning forward and gripping his chin.

"Ok." Punk nodded breathlessly, placing his hands on her hips which began to move up and down. They didn't stay there for long as AJ grabbed one and pinned it to the bed beside his head.

"Look at me." She said, whilst continuing to move her hips up and down on him, her body coming alive at the feeling of him filling her up. Punk did his best to look at her through the excruciating pleasure, "You think about this the next time Sophie comes by for coffee." She told him with a gasp, still gripping his chin as Punk smirked and nodded.

She let go of his chin and leaned forward to kiss him passionately, moving her hips up and down on him fast whilst he ran his hands up her torso and to her breasts, squeezing them whilst he moved up inside of her to meet her thrusts.

A conversation was sure to follow, but right now they were only concentrated on the pleasure and the feel of each other's bodies. A reminder to both of them that it would never be like this with anyone else.
