Goosebumps raced up arms as the air was sucked away and replaced with the sharp tang of ozone! White Lightning tore through the air, bathing them all in even more white light that it washed out the darkest of colors. It erupted with a force that shoved the air out of its way, spawning a bluster that slammed into everyone before swirling around them to rush past them into the darken city streets.

Then as though it wasn't enough, the air began to spark around the blast, flames began to flicker outward as it did off the sun. Impossible as it felt, the blast seemed to 'grow' as flames ignited just from the lightning!

Blue Eyes, for her part, had rolled her eyes before sucking in a breath, spewing out White Lightning against this pitiful ball. Maybe she used a bit more force than she needed, but while she was admittedly younger than the Black Rose Dragon. It wasn't as though she had never seen 'any' horrors in her life. Her dearest' Set's guilt at the fate of the little Prince.

The Mockery Room of Tablets.

That's what she had named it, when she swooped in with her fellows to look after her Darling Set and saw 'it'. Rows of shoddy modern tablets lining walls, blank faces with half a dozen or more corpses resting at their feet. Men, women, children, women 'with' child, all slaughtered without concern before these tablets. It had angered them, her Darling Set, his little brother, God, and just seeing those women, their bellies swollen and slashed or the little ones with vacant scared eyes...

'They tried to recreate the tablets of our times, didn't they?'

Someone mentioned it aloud. She didn't care, for all that mattered to her was that she was witnessing defilement and she wanted to be sent against it. That image, reignited into the front of her mind caused her to intensify the blast, slamming into the white orb, that had scared this little humans, back.

It struck the orb as its namesake, the broken slabs of concrete around Yubel exploded just from the vibrations alone! Dust exploded outward as the world was drowned in this clap of raw power, deafening everyone in range as glass shattered even further behind them filling the void of space with the sound of gentle rain. Howling winds formed from a blast and 'rain' that was slivers of glass. Ready to pierce the flesh of the unsuspecting!

So deceptive how behind them it sounded like a steady rain and wind, while in front was this monumental clash between different forms of light!

Yubel was taken aback by this rejection of their light, their power strained to move forward. Their magnificent orb began to dimple from the impact causing them to become increasingly outraged for a moment. Until they realized this was a wonderful way to prove their love and loyalty to Judai! This particular white dragon was popular back when Judai was a child, often showing up in commercials.

Not that Yubel had seen a television in a long time, but as a spirit they knew of the story behind Blue Eyes White Dragon. The eternal love and loyalty that the dragon represented to her partner, while to the world she represented immense power. Breaking this dragon would be a testament to their adoration and love to Judai! So they began to draw on more of the Light they had received from space...

"This... doesn't look good." Crow told himself and the spirits near him as he saw the test of strength going on above them. He pushed himself back to his feet, the dust covering his body before was nothing to what it was 'now'. The shield he had was vaporized and he could only count his blessings that the blast didn't shatter the bones in his body or vaporize 'him'! The impact had been both visceral and loud, the boom deafening as it lifted them from the ground and then flung them back into it at an 'angle'!

While around him the spirits had enough sense to fade themselves out just enough not to be flattened themselves, but now they needed to move their respective people. Especially Judai since Crow had enough common sense as to 'want' to get out of the way, Judai...

He hadn't been paying enough attention to the world around him. So it fell on Crow to try and help the idiot out, grabbing and trying to drag the brownie jellyfish away. Unwilling to be moved Judai resisted until the impact took the right of choice away from him. It sent him flying helping Crow as the two sailed forward and allowed Crow to curl up to hide Judai under him.

That turned out to be as far as Crow's luck ran though, when Judai didn't struggle and now that he had checked the area, Crow... was a bit concerned. Judai hadn't moved and his spirits were still here so..what gave?

"Come on Judai, we gotta get away from here! These dragons mean business!" Crow argued as he grabbed Judai's arm and tugged on it.

A fresh puddle of color caught his eye instantly as he shook the teen, it was small but in all this white light. It was evident, red on a field of pale gray under an interrogation light.

"Aww nuts..." Crow shook his head in frustration as he knelt down and checked on Judai. His hand combed through Judai's hair roughly and found his fingers trailing blood. "Shit..." He turned and saw Judai's spirits, who had resumed a half hearted type of fight with Crows' deck and Queen with others who had joined the centaur dragon woman's in her battle lust. "Are you serious?" He asked in disbelief before holding up his hand, bloody fingers facing outward. "Your partner is hurt don't you have more important things to focus on now?" He demanded.

"This is what he wants..."

Resigned, that was the tone of voice. Unsurprisingly, Judai's spirits were unhappy about their situation, and he couldn't fault them for it. These bonds everyone who had the ability to see spirits seemed a lot like his to Yusei and Jack. It was Fubuki that was the most interesting, since most of his deck had been destroyed and he was now the keeper and caretaker of Mr. Jounouchi's deck. Witch hovered adoringly around Aki, protective of her partner, but Red Eyes Black Dragon? The others said that he was supportive, but just unsure about how to go about it.

"No, this is what he's been brainwashed and rinsed into wanting. You know this isn't him, and I know that you know what Yubel did to any other spirit in the Duel Spirit world that tried to stand up to them. You obey or you're getting fried." Crow retorted and was rewarded with the open flinches from the Hero's set.

It wasn't even just getting fried. Yubel was fixated on Judai, how did they see Judai's relationship to his other spirits? Since Aki stated Judai couldn't see duel spirits on his own, he was just strong enough to know about them. It was Aki, Ruka and Jesse who had the strength to make the spirits visible.

Suddenly the image of how Jack behaved when presented with a cup of Noodles played in Crows mind. That obsessive quality that had Jack shove people out of his way, except the elderly he wasn't a savage, just to get it prepared and eaten. Yubel replacing Jack made that image sad though, Yubel would push away everyone important to Judai just to keep him.

"This is out of my pay grade, but can you get him to a hospital? He's hurt and needs to see a doctor!" Crow asked as flames began to erupt out of the beam and ball war above his head. 'Fire? Is that even possible or safe when happening?' some distant part of Crow's mind asked.

'He was lonely, and didn't understand what Yubel was trying to communicate so he sent them away. But he was a kid, I can't blame him for messing up like he did,' Yusei's voice, calm and introspective played in his thoughts.

"These children will not take Judai away, Yubel is far too strong for them without Judai's support and in his state of mind his support is pure for Yubel and Jesse alone."

Crow nearly jumped into the orb and beam combo from that somber, deep bass that just decided RIGHT BEHIND HIM was ideal. Turning around, while on the ground from where he hit it, Crow saw Panther Warrior standing there, arms crossed tail barely twitching. "You're in a lock down. If they defy Judai Yubel will destroy them, and if Yubel destroys them and you manage to free him its going to break him. Do not be surprised if Judai ends his life in grief for what befalls the rest of his deck and Yubel will only get worse for it."

"Have you always been this full of light and love?" Crow demanded as he climbed back to his feet, even as he glanced over and the full on shame that showed on these spirits faces was heart breaking. When the Hero line was created and released they were given these cityscape action poses, now they stood there shoulders hunched in and facing the ground. It was enough to get Crow and the other spirits to back off a bit, because this situation was just messier than a magpies' nest.

"Judai cares..."

"Yeah! I know its rough right now, but don't think he doesn't love you spirits too!" Tutu argued in this defensive tone. "Judai's not in his right mind, so please don't take it as a personal attack against all of you!"

"Hey 'Tu, can you let the gang know I'm going to have to tow Judai over and get his head checked out?" Crow asked as he walked thought about it then stared Panther Warrior. "Ok Warrior of Love and Justice, you can help me get Judai to the gang."

Tutu nodded and bladed her way back to the group as the orb began to look distressingly like someone had stuck their finger in one of those delicious mochi balls that Asuka showed them. Instead of that delicious red of bean paste or green of matcha though this was...

"So what 'is' at the center of an orb of corrupted light?" CyberPhoenix asked as he followed her, keeping his head tilted around just enough to make sure no one took shots at Tutu.

"Certainly not matcha or that American candy," Tutu agreed.

"I've had that American candy," Phoenix noted glumly. "It was not as good as the matcha, stiff and," he added a sharp clack of his beak to give emphasis.

"Matcha is best! Mat-Asuka! Crow is bringing Judai here, he hit his head and-" Tutu began when Kazu's Queen cut her off as the chimera like spirit burst into the scene.

"is bleeding, you didn't tell us that Crow liked to mother any weakened prey!" Queen turned an accusing glare onto Yusei.

For his part, Yusei's response was to move so he could keep on an eye on Crow to see if the guy needed help. Panther Warrior looked washed out amid the light, carrying Judai on his back with so little effort that Yusei felt a twinge of jealousy.

"You got a problem with Crow?!" Jack blustered stalking up to Queen while Kazu had to decide if he was willing to die for Queen by getting any closer to the orb and beam than he liked.

'She did die for you...' Kazu thought before moving forward to deal with the pair while his eyes were constantly drawn upward. "Ok so that orb is about to lose to Blue Eyes... So for those of us who are 'not' spirits and can just disappear I'm thinking we need to escape."

Superia glided down swiftly to Ryu's side and pointed to a tunnel, one of several that existed, it was split with one half that went to the Momentum Project, one that went away from the city. The child looked up at her in surprise, "its safe in there?"

While, not as high as anyone would have liked, the orb was finalizing its true destiny as a white doughnut. Trueman frowned in disappointment at the way the orb wavered and rolled into that shape, the Light that Yubel was so proud of. So powerful and immense it drove the Duel Spirits and humans into disarray just at Yubels approach was actually giving way to a dragon? While humans recognized Blue Eyes White Dragon as 'The' Ultimate Dragon, it wasn't because of its power. Over the years since the game was created other dragons had been created that knocked the dragon from her position.

Rather it was her connection to Kaiba, Seto that people recognized.

Thus with his absence no one had seen her in decades, save in videos of his duels because he took her cards with him.

Science stated that energy could not be destroyed, merely transformed. A fire breathed air, spewed carbon dioxide, while eating wood and creating flames. It was a whole universe of energy transformation in a simple format.

Yet the Blue Eyes was defying science.

It was actively defying the very foundation that Yugi put in place when his highest form created the universe.

Yubel's Light wasn't rolling away as it did against any other force. He watched, first with disinterest then with mounting alarm as he didn't see the typical reaction. It didn't doughnut and just let the blast pierce through or expand to just avoid the blast all together. Yubel could make it do that yet they were actively trying to have a contest of strength against the dragon and 'losing'!

"Yubel! What are you doing the dragon is going to destroy your orb!"

They had this feral look on their face, a wild smirk on their lips in response.

Looking back at the orb, Trueman couldn't stop the frustration growing in him as he realized the spirit didn't seem to care that they were 'losing' this fight. If the orb exploded they would win, by default the explosion radius of the current orb would consume at least ten city blocks around it. That was the type of power that Yubel possessed with the Light.

Instead, as he watched it was...

"Yubel! Change the shape of your orb, the dragon isn't damaging it! Somehow she's evaporating it!" Trueman wasn't one for panic or feeling like he had lost control of situations in general. But that's what this was. As impossible, insane or out of this world as the reality was, Blue Eyes White Dragon was defying science. The energy of the orb wasn't exploding on contact, or transforming into another state at all. It was just... gone... "How can that dragon just obliterate energy? Its impossible!"

"You're a fool, it can't!" Yubel retorted in a snarl, even as the hackles on their neck started to raise.

Their Corrupted light couldn't compete with the light from Blue Eyes White Dragon?

Feathers filled the air as Crows caught sight of Yusei hanging back and as Junko and Momoe were hurried along at the back. Neither Crow or Panther Warrior bothered to ask questions, they fell into step with Yusei as they rushed ahead.

Experienced former warriors they didn't asked questions, it was just something obvious to their logic as they saw everyone rushing off. Before them was a concrete tunnel and he could see the others huddling into it as they moved though there was a soft glow ahead that he couldn't find the source of.

"Shouldn't we go deeper?" Momoe was asking from the side as everyone closed in, her voice was a hushed whisper as she felt her healing partner snuggle up for security next to her.

"What's the point? We're right next to Momentum, if that blast blows up Momentum we're better off dead anyways," Ryo pointed out, his tone pragmatic and his frame imposing enough that no one saw Fubuki bury his face in his hands in response to that.

"Thank you, Emperor of Hope, I'll take it from here..." Fubuki grumbled, "Look, Blue Eyes is doing damage, logically it should pop the bubble right? So we just wait for a pop then step out."

"I'm not telling him," Archfiend rumbled out though he didn't bother being in the tiny room. Instead he stood in the dirt and concrete surrounding them, with only Black Rose as company.

"It is not that BAD..." Black Rose amended, which was an interesting sound coming from someone partially mad. "Yubel never interacted with Blue Eyes before, how would THEY know who supplies Blue Eyes their extra strength?" Unlike Archfiend who was more concerned with keeping an eye on Crow as Jack helped Yusei check Judai's head. Black Rose was keeping tabs on the outside, easier given her plant thus earth based nature.

Awe inspiring wasn't exactly the right word but...

Yubel may have gotten their power from an entity. But Kaiba's name 'Seto' wasn't 'just' a Japanese name, or a play on 'Set-O' or 'Lord Set' The Storm God of Egyptian Mythology. He 'was' the God! As a priestess, once upon a time, Black Rose still remembered the power gained when a God decided to grace a servant with added strength.

Even in this place of stone, steel and glass, she could feel the storm stirring. The sky was black with nightfall and that strange black thing in space, but now it churned with the blackness of clouds rolling in.

Set always enjoyed generating a storm to announce His presence.
