Chapter 48 Mephis

The group of heroes went foward down the hall and saw a old dungeon with skeletons hanged against the wall.
"This used to be the prison where the Dragon King would send the ones that oppose him." Raiden said.
They went foward and Jago said: "All these warriors left here to be forgotten."
"Hey come on, we can deal with anything that'll appear." Johnny said.
Mephis appeared behind him. "Then let us see."
He grabs Johnny and drags him down througn a hole that opened.
"Johnny!" Hibiki said.
Johnny crashes against the floor. "Ow." He saw Mephis stand in front of him with his arms crossed. "Okay freak. Let' see what you can do." Johnny got up.
"You'll join the dead here." Mephis said.
They went to a stance and got ready to fight.
Johnny does a kick with Mephis blocking it and teleporting away.
"What?!" Johnny got surprised at Mephis appears behind him and hit Johnny back.
"Okay so teleportation." Johnny said.
Mephis laughs as he goes around turning into pure energy.
Johnny waits before he makes a green orb throwing it to the side hitting Mephis making him solid again.
"What that is impossible?!" Mephis said.
"Not for me." Johnny smirks.
Mephis grunts and jumps up making a energy whip swinging it at Johnny making him duck and dodge to avoid it.
Mephis lands and walks foward swinging the whip making Johnny back away.
"You can run but you can't hide. I'll destroy your body!" Mephis said.
Johnny looks around and saw a lever at a wall, he looks up and sees a big ball hanging off on the ceiling.
He then gets an idea making him smile.
Mephis swings his whip again making Johnny jump to where it is and pulls it down making the ball come down crushing Mephis' arm.
Mephis screams as he lost his arms and Johnny saw the gates for the cells open.
"Oh so it was for the cell doors." Johnny said.
"You crushed my arm! My wonderful arm!" Mephis holds his stump.
"Yeah, I thought since you liked to use it to swing that whip around, I thought why not get rid of it." Johnny said.
"I thought you were supposed to be the dumb one!" Mephis said.
"Hey if i'm dumb what are you." Johnny chuckles.
Mephis got mad and charges at him with Johnny dodging his only arm and the guy's kicks.
Johnny then blocks and kicks him back before punching Mephis many times making him grunt.
Johnny then has his arm glow while going limp. "Come on."
Mephis charges at him attacking Johnny who blocked it, then he punches the guy's crotch many times cracking the part as Mephis grunt before he knees him in the chin cracking it.
Mephis stands back holding his head grunting in pain.
Johnny charges at him and does his shadow kick hitting Mephis away making him crash through a wall as the rubbles bury him alive.
"How to do you like that bone daddy?" Johnny said.
Johnny checks on Mephis by leaning foward. "Well that guy is done for. Now I gotta go find a way to get back to the others."
"Hey Johnny!" He looks up to see Sonya and Jax looking down through the hole.
"You okay man?" Jax asked.
"Yeah, just beat that guy." Johnny goes up to where they can see him.
"Okay, we'll throw you a rope." Sonya throws a rope down.
"Thanks." He grabs on to it and starts to climb up with the others pulling it up to make him get there faster.
When Johnny got out of the hole he dusts himself.
"You have defeated the enemy." Raiden said.
"Yeah, he was a creepy guy, but hey I managed to do it." Johnny said.
"It seems the Deadly Alliance is planning to take us down one by one. They did it with Hiro and now they did with Johnny sending one of they're best fighters." Raiden said.
"So we gotta be ready for these assholes. No big deal." Jax said.
"It's dangerous Jax. We don't know what they can do." Liu Kang said.
"Seeing how our friends were strong enough to face us all. It's obvious these other ones will get more dangerous." Hibiki said.
"Yeah. So let's make sure they don't look down on us." Kung Lao said.
They went foward and saw a gate with Kung Lap cutting it with his hat opening it.
"Good job." Hibiki goes foward.
"Thanks." Kung Lao puts his hat on and follows him with the others.
Hibiki looks around and sees many carvings of Onaga and his time as emperor with a image of a man that resembles Shao Kahn.
"Shao Kahn?" Liu Kang said.
"You don't know this. Long before Shao Kahn served as a guardian like me. But he got greedy and poisoned Onaga to get the throne." Raiden said.
"So he was a guardian?" Kung Lao said.
"Looks like he didn't like sharing." Johnny said.
"Shao Kahn never intended to serve for too long. Even more when Onaga planned to become immortal." Hibiki said.
"What?!" Sonya said.
"Well that's one danger solved." Kung Lao said.
"But now the deadly alliance is the threat for now that we must focused. If they get his army it will be the end of the realms." Raiden said.
They kept going and Hibiki knows that Onaga will be someone they will have to face later on.
I need to get the medallion out of Quan Chi's hands. He thinks to himself.
They went inside another room and saw a big krypt with many closed caskets.
"Okay this is a big ominous." Johnny said.
"What could be here?" Orchid said.
"We will have to see." Hibiki said.
Note: Heres the battle with Mephis where Johnny fought him defeating the warrior and some of Shao Kahn's backstory has been revealed to them.
