After an unexpected meeting, Kirby and Toon Link returned to their last location. After a quick summary with Dr. Mario, he was stunned how the young Hylian made a significant recovery just being outside. Little did he know that the two heroes disappeared for only 30 minutes.

Eventually, he discharge Toon Link from the clinic, free of charge.

The two picked up their stuff, Toon Link armanent, Kirby drawings, and returned the art kit. They exited the clinic together in the afternoon.

The two sought to get Dedede hat. Before they do, Toon Link pondered if they should go through Kirby's room or Dedede very large door. Despite they lived on the same planet—Popstar Planet, maybe it's an easier way to gain access to his secret vault.

Kirby, on the other hand, had a brilliant idea. The two were holding hands together, strolling through the hallway. Going up the stairs, inspecting the lovely design of the mansion.

Of course, no one was present. Where is everyone...?

Meanwhile, the two made their way to discover Dedede room. Double door, red wooden painted with a star outer borderline with his insignia face. He really adores himself.

Toon Link was surprised how large the door was. He learned a few that Kirby homeland, aren't they supposed to be tiny...? He was aware that Kirby was 0.8 inches along with Meta Knight and Dedede, but in a mansion, he was half of a size of him!

Under the circumstances, Kirby won everyone heart.

The two examined the door, and there was no handle. He wonders if the other way is through the vent again. But Kirby was no stranger as he approached the door, face pressed against the right door, prying his way in force entry.

Kirby was making grunting sounds, trying to invade Dedede's room. "Uuuuuurrrreeeee!"

Toon Link thought those two must be good friends, after all. Does Dedede leave his door open like Kirby?

Anyway, Toon Link pressed his left elbow on the left door, using his weight to push the door. He made grunting sounds as the two heard the door begin to open slightly. A large creek of wooden door, scraping the black and white tiles in the process.

Finally, the two found themselves inside Dedede manor. A mansion inside a mansion, mind-blowing to compact rooms with magic in their sleeves... if they had one. His castle seemed a bit huge for a penguin to himself. Kirby and Toon Link footsteps echoed the main entrance, scanning for his friend.

Toon Link was aware that his title 'King' should have minions or servants all around his manor, he supposed.

The two reached the center of the room, and Kirby began sprinting away from the young Hylian. The Hero of Winds reached out his arm to catch up with Kirby, but he was quick on his feet and disappeared as he turned to the right corner. Taking a few steps ahead, he heard whistling noises to his west.

He looked to the source and spotted five Waddle Dees! They were looking at him strangely, and Toon Link waved awkwardly. He felt like an intruder, so he tried to play along as a lost child.

Before he could think of an excuse, the Waddle Dees marched towards him, looking hostile with angry expression. Despite the bitter welcoming, Toon Link panicked and fled where Kirby raced off.

In the cute hallway, Kirby was hauling towards a certain room. He knows exactly where his room was located. Through the open entrance, he spotted his room!

Peering through the room was his wardrobe of a variety of different colors. Despite the curtains being closed, the room was dark. Dedede also got quite a set of the same red theme. Before he entered, he heard footsteps—more than one pair of feet dashing behind him—

The curiousity got to Kirby as he turned around and saw his friend catching up! Followed by... 17...18...20 of Waddle Dees? With sharped tipped spears?!

Kirby expresses a shocking look.

Toon Link running speed slowed down to a jogging pace as he came to a stop in front of Kirby, looking worried. Worried that Kirby ran off somewhere again or an entire army of Waddle Dees inside the manor was going to tackle him.

Kirby tugged the green tunic and pointed his stubs inside a maybe clean/dirty pile of garments belonging to Dedede. The two dive inside the clothing, smokescreen themselves until the close is clear.

Approximately 10 Waddle Dees inspected Dedede's room. They peek under his bed, poke through his wardrobe, check the covers, examine the windows, and dash back into the hallway with the others.

When the close is clear, their squishy footsteps faded, and Kirby and Toon Link poked their heads out. Kirby was having a hard time getting through a really fluffy coat. Eventually, his face exposed cuteness as he blinked. Toon Link lifted the heavy fur above him, watching Kirby squeeze through one of Dedede sleeves.

No wonder Kirby squirmed to get out of the wrong way. The pink marshmallow giggled. Literally, his stubs are buckled in, so Toon Link went inside the coat and pushed Kirby gently. The feeling of a boost, Kirby right stub went free, flapping it wildly. His face of a struggling toddler, he tried to free his other stub.

Just when he did, he was squeezed out like a toothpaste and face-planted on the tiles, resulting in a grunting noise slipping through his tiny mouth.

He unstick himself from the floor and uses his stubs to elevate himself, smiling. Toon Link found his way through the same way and saw his face was slightly flat until it expanded into his round size.

While Toon Link lifted the coat off of him, he felt someone or something grasping his right leg. In shock, the Hero of Winds tried to wriggle the entity off of him. He gasped, tried to grab whatever he sees fit, which was the thick fur coat and a hat belonging to Dedede on the free hand, but it was strong that it pulled the young Hylian back into the dark, stinky clothes of Dedede.

"Waaaaahhhh!"

He screamed in shock, growing faint, and Kirby quickly reacted as he hopped into the same hole where his friend was dragged. His yelling can be heard as Kirby crawled through.

Apparently, this pile of clothing they masked themselves was connected to a slide or... maybe a way to the laundry shoot? But Kirby didn't appreciate who tried to take his friend!

On his four, he failed to notice that he went into the vent, free falling. Flapping his tiny stubs, he tried to float, but it was unexpected. The excruciating cuteness of his scream fills the vent and lands into the basket.

He rubbed his face with his stubby hand and blinked. His vision caught his friend with a concerned face looking relieved. Beside him was a friend he really adore the most!

It was Bandana Waddle Dee!

The Bandana Waddle Dee applause, seeing his friend in a long time on their last adventures. Was he holding a device with a claw?

Toon Link placed his stomach on the rim of the rectangle basket to reach for Kirby. Picking him up was light and got Kirby out of the basket. He gently put Kirby down beside Bandana Waddle Dee as the two high-five.

After their warm and friendly introduction, Kirby let out a soft murmurs, staring intently at the claw Bandana Waddle Dee was holding. Beside him was a pile of dirty clothes from Dedede and some detergent.

As expected, he was washing clothes for his highness and accidentally clipped or pull his friend down here.

Toon Link nodded, trying to approve it was a mistake based on his perplexing expression.

Bandana Waddle Dee looked sullen, but Kirby decided to kiss him on the blemishes, which enlightened him, a bit. His frown turned upside down when Kirby cheered him up.

While their fantastic reunion, Toon Link inspected the area. Walking around the room, it seems to be the basement. New and currently on construction, in fact. Luckily, it was just one Waddle Dee with a blue cloth around his head, and it seemed very friendly than the others.

His finger slipped under his chin, muse on this new space. Analyzing the room carefully, on the wall was washing machines... or stolen, to be precise, based on their Smash design. If Bandana Waddle Dee was washing his clothes, created a new space just for that particular chore, then he assumed they're doing DIY.

Master and Crazy Hands usually do all the chores every day for everyone convienences. It has been three weeks since it vanishes.

Kirby approached his friend and poked him. He looked down and saw his curious face. He rubbed the back of his head. He didn't mean to space out. The Hero of Winds tends to think a good consider amount of time during his dungeon puzzle.

Bandana Waddle Dee waves at the two visitors, netting their attention, and directed a way out through the upstairs. The two smiled and made their way to the stairs. Toon Link went ahead as Kirby high-five his friend, but this is a farewell. Bandana Waddle Dee wave eagarly at the two as Kirby follow Toon Link trails.

At the entrance, Toon Link monitors the area from left, right, front, and left again. His back against the wall and tiptoe as Kirby follows him. Looking out for Waddle Dees, he tilt his head, and there were three on one of the hallways.

He looks back to Kirby and uses hand signals to gesture quickly and invisible. One hand gesture a wall and digit fingers behind it, meaning them and swiftly move across out of the hand barrier. Kirby nodded, understanding his language and the two executed by rolling on the black and white tiles. The Waddle Dees did caught their interest by the strange sound, but they returned having a muted conversation with another.

The two returned to the Smash mansion, unharmed. Well, there was no threat either, only an angry mob of Waddle Dees that listens to King Dedede commands.

The two ended up panting, looking stressed because was it that difficult to get Dedede Hat—

Speaking of hat, Kirby turned back to Dedede room, looking really disappointed. There were a lot of hats and outfits that Dedede litter around, and he didn't stole one...?

He was so distracted by his friend, Bandana Waddle Dee, that the joy was his friend appearance more than the hat?

Recently, some of his friends have visited him—or a rude awakening by crashing in like Pit. He started to wonder if the conquest for hats were really worth borrowing when their side mission was to find Master and Crazy Hands.

Kirby blinked sub-consciously back at Dedede's room until there was a reassuring rub on his round back. Sensing the touch, he glanced at Toon Link, who presented a Dedede snow hat with a genuine smile.

And Kirby was never so happy to have a reliable friend.

Toon Link handed the red with a white pom-pom hat belonging to Dedede as a reminder that he's not alone.

Kirby got a Dedede Hat from Toon Link by stealing at his home!

Toon Link picked up Kirby by both arms and hugged him as he raced off back to Kirby's room.

...

Upon their arrival, they reached a familiar spot where Kirbu deposited all his hats. During their hiking, Kirby insisted to drop him off halfway and walk his way together. Making a quick pit stop at a certain spot and pulled out a Wario's Hat hidden underneath the carpet.

Amazingly, Kirby remembers every action, friends, and his adventures well.

Toon Link decided to stay outside of Kirby's room as he crawled back to his Planet Popstar. Leaning on the wall, he rolled up his right sleeve and how remarkable his recover was without the aid of Master and Crazy magical hands can do.

He thought of everyone who compete in the tourney. As long as they have each other, with numbers comes in great power, he believed it's possible to find Master and Crazy Hands easily. It was all thanks to the help of Ike, Dr. Mario, Pit, and the goddess of light Palutena.

"You're correct, Toon Link. As more of us work together in this dire quest, we will bring the root to the surface." A voice appared in his head, sounded really familiar.

He expresses a huge shocking surprise face. Looking around at his surroundings hastily, almost like a panic.

"Calm down, young hero." It continued. "Have you ever wonder how I communicate with Bayonetta with telepathically?"

Toon Link look up to the ceiling or his forehead (which is impossible) to hear this strange mind-reading relay messages.

"My, it's me, the goddess of light, Palutena. Pit is here with us, too." Palutena describes herself. "Not only I heal your wounds, I did leave you... well, let's just say, a parting gift."

Toon Link relaxed a bit. His first thought ws a threat, but it was a familiar friend, and he decided to hear the goddess out. Not only she was the only one can, another voice has joined.

"Hi, Toon Link!" A peppy and high in spirit voice added. "It's me, Pit! The one who protects humanity and a guard of Lady Palutena!"

Toon Link lifted his hand and waved at the ceiling awkwardly.

"There's no need for another introduction, Pit. You two are practically neighbors."

"Oh, right." Telepathathic Pit said and resumed. "Like I said, pal, call me if you need me!"

The young Hylian expesses his last voyage before they depart. Is that what he was referring to? He raised one of his eyebrow.

"Anyway, the hero chosen by the gods, your look shows copious questions as of why do we appear in your head?" Palutena elabrates the cel-shaded hero. "In mutual agreement, you and Kirby have a similar goal is to find the missing game masters, am I correct?"

Toon Link nodded in a no language matter.

"I thought of giving Kirby one, but his little adventures of collecting hats for amusement seem to be helping us track down by interacting visitors from another universe and evidence where it was last seen." Palutena said.

"Maybe if you and Kirby could talk around the mansion, see who was also into our objective?" Pit suggested.

"That way, we can get a good lead to their disappearance and what the others are up to." The goddess of light authorizes her theory.

"Yeah! Lady Palutena developed an excellent idea! Like, we can look in the air for five minutes, and I go on foot whatever I land. While the other go talk around the town—er, mansion—er, opponents from another universe!" Pit said clumsily.

"Is that simple enough?" Palutena finished off after Pit.

Without hesitation, Toon Link nodded in the clear, mental note to himself.

"While I watch this adorable little pink creature Kirby getting some hats. Man, he gets away with a lot of free time." Pit whined.

Toon Link concurred by nodding after Pit had complained. It was fairly obvious how Kirby can get away with anything, even troubles.

He heard giggles from the goddess of light. "Well, anyway, Pit, let's leave them be. Just a reminder: I'm always looking over you."

Within seconds, it was a complete silence.

Toon Link muscle relaxed, wondering if they are looking out for him. Then again... does he feel safe changing clothes...? The self-consciousness begins to kick in.

Kirby returned back to the hallway, but he wasn't alone. A red Kirby with his parka or written in the books for Smash tournament, Ice Climbers outfit saw the Hero of Winds and smiled.

The Red Kirby hugged Toon Link in surprise, expressing his gratitude for this really warm outfit, and it's really fluffy! Kirby applaud both of them, cheering the everlasting friendship. Toon Link crouched to his level and returned the favor. It truly makes him feel warm and fuzzy to his heart and soul to help others.

The Red Kirby let go of his embrace and rushed back into the small tunnel to Kirby's room as the main Kirby closed the door, waving at his friend.

"Baaaaaaiii!"

Once the pink warrior closed his wooden door, he glanced to his fellow comrade, and it looked like he had seen a ghost. He tilted his body, curiously scrutinizing his friend. A small murmurs escapes his tiny dot mouth.

Toon Link blinked, watching the Red Kirby make his way back home and had forgotten his buddy was looking at him for a while. He shook his head, and a soft smile grew on his face.

The Hero of Winds reached for Kirby stubs, patted for assuage, and rise to his feet. He pulled out his inventory was a folded paper. He revealed the paper by pinching the corners and presented it to Kirby.

It was Lucina.

And he thought it's a great way to snag a mask.

Kirby has never agreed with someone with the same goal when his screech became high-pitched of excitement. He nodded at Kirby and folded the paper back into his magical pocket.

The two scurried through the hallway, on a search for the lady, who masked herself as Marf.

A/N- Might as well add a bit of characters who are involved in this search. After Lucina, that's when the adventure starts. Too bad after Lucina, there won't be any more character hats to take from Smash 4. (I know I missed Luigi, Daisy, and more, but Kirby already got one like Mario and Peach.)

Also, do bear in mind that typing on mobile causes it to have a lot of errors in typing. Freaking updates ruin the autocorrect and saved words, too. I really hate when I edit a few, there's an underscore on some words.
