Chapter 4 Baby love

Everyone heard the baby crying. "Sounds like the new baby is here," Adam said.

"Yes," Teela said.

In the room the doctor held up the baby. "It's a girl!" the doctor said holding her where her parents could see her. The baby girl was crying loudly and then was placed on Dree Elle's chest.

Dree Elle held her little daughter close to her every so gently. Then baby was crying still. "It's okay sweetie we are so glad you have arrived," Dree Elle said.

"Look at her and we have the name all picked out for if it was a girl," Orko said.

"Yes Kymaya our little Kymaya," Dree Elle said.

The doctor checked over Kymaya and Dree Elle. Then the nurses cleaned Kymaya up and put a diaper on her and wrapped her in a blanket. The blanket hid her little face. Orko and Dree Elle were both so happy.

Then the doctor left the room. He saw the people of the palace waiting. "Mother and baby are just fine," the doctor said. "the delivery went smoothly," he said. "no complications," he said. "The baby is perfectly healthy," he said.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" Teela asked.

"It is a beautiful baby girl," the doctor said.

"How wonderful," Marlena said.

"Can we see the baby?" Adam asked.

"I have to check with the new parents," the doctor said. Then he went in and came up to Orko and Dree Elle. "They want to meet the baby," he said.

"Let them in," Dree Elle said.

"Yes they should all see our daughter," Orko said.

Then the doctor went to get them. They all came in and saw the little baby girl in Dree Elle's arms. The baby girl's face was already hidden. Only her little ears and eyes were showing.

"Awe!" everyone said.

"Look at her," Marlena said. "Isn't she precious," she said.

"She is so small," Cringer said.

"Yes a baby Trollan weighs no more than 2 pounds when born," the doctor said.

"My that is tiny," Randor said.

"Well I am glad I made the cradle the right size, I am glad you told me how small it had to be Orko," Man at arms said.

"What is her name?" Adam asked.

"Kymaya," Orko answered.

"That is a pretty name," Teela said.

Kymaya was looking at all of them. Then she yawned and closed her eyes. "Looks to me like she is getting sleepy," Marlena said.

"I am pretty tired myself," Dree Elle said. She was looking very tired.

"I think it's time we let Dree Elle and Kymaya rest," Randor said.

Then they all left the room. Orko and Dree Elle were happy their baby was now here. Orko and Dree Elle began to enjoy time with their new baby.

Orko and Dree Elle stayed more in their room and living area for the next few days. They wanted sometime to bond with their baby. They were so happy she was here. Kymaya was very well loved by her parents. Orko and Dree Elle were learning what it was like caring for their new tiny daughter.

Kymaya cried a lot at night. She barely slept two hours at a time. Orko and Dree Elle would wake up to her cries. "Come here sweetie," Dree Elle said taking her out of the cradle. She was fussing and crying.

"I will make a bottle," Orko said. Orko went into the kitchen and prepared his daughter's bottle.

"Orko what are you doing up this time of night? You sure made some noise," Man at arms said.

"Just making a bottle for Kymaya," Orko said. "Dree Elle is holding her at the moment and I making a bottle for her, it has been three hours since she was fed last and she likes to be fed every three hours," he said.

"I see," Man at arms said. "Babies are a lot of work," he said.

"Yes they are," Orko said. He finished making the bottle and warmed it up gently with his magic. Then tested it, on his wrist. "There we go just right," he said. "now I better get this to Kymaya," he said.

"Okay good night," Man at arms said.

"Night," Orko said. Then he brought the bottle to his room and handed it to Dree Elle who gave it to hungry Kymaya. Kymaya began to suckle on the bottle. She was very hungry. Soon after being fed she was burped. Then put back in the cradle and rocked to sleep. Then things were all settled.

Orko was seen a couple of days after that. He was looking very tired. His hat was crooked and his scarf was a drooping in one area and his eyes had bags.

"Hey there Orko," Adam said.

"Hi Adam," Orko said yawning.

"You okay Orko?" Adam asked. "You look all messy your hat is crooked and part of your scarf is sticking out and drooping to the ground," he said.

"Oh they are?" Orko said. "I guess I didn't check myself to see if I was dressed right," he said.

"You okay?" Adam asked again.

"I think so, but I haven't really slept since Kymaya was born." Orko said. "Also Dree Elle really hasn't slept either," he said.

"Sounds like you two could use break," Adam said. "Sounds like you two need help," he said.

Then Montork arrived. "I am here to see my great niece so where is she?" Montork asked.

"She is in the nursery," Orko said.

"Orko my boy you look ragged," Montork said.

"He's tired as is Dree Elle, both of them haven't gotten much sleep since the baby was born," Adam said.

"Well allow me to lend a helping hand then," Montork said. "I can to help out for a while," he said. "I figures you could use a helping hand," he said. "Now let's me see that little cutie," he said.

Orko brought Montork to see baby Kymaya. "Oh look at my little great niece she is precious," Montork said.

"Her name is Kymaya," Orko said.

"Hello Kymaya I am your great uncle Montork," Montork said cooing at her.

"It is nice to see you Montork," Dree Elle said.

"You two get some rest, I will take care of her for a while," Montork said. "You two look like you haven't slept in months," he said. "So both of you freshen up and get some sleep I will take care of her for a while," he said. "I am even staying a while to give a helping hand," he said.

"Thank you," Orko said.

"Thank you very much," Dree Elle said. "We appreciate your help Montork," she said.

"Happy to help," Montork said.

To be continued.
