Raven slowly opened her eyelids, to only see the people who kidnapped Apple, and apparently her as well. Gaining full consciousness, she swifts her head to look at her surroundings while noting the cuffs around her hands and rope wrapped closely to herself, recognizing it was the Chemythstry classroom they were in. She was more alarmed to find herself next to Apple, tied to chairs as well. Wanting to free the both of them of their bindings, she tries to use her magic but then notices that she can't.
"What did you do with my magic?!" Raven asked demandingly, struggling through the ropes tied to her while looking at black cuffs glowing in her purple magic. "Who are you?! What do you want with us?!"
"Relax, we're not your enemy. We used Magic cuffs so that you won't hex us into I dunno frogs." said the girl, gently trying to calm the witch. "We'll talk once Apple wakes up."
Raven wanted to ask how she knows Apple's name. But then again, Apple is the daughter of Queen Snow White, fairest of them all. So of course everyone knows her. But the girl keeping them captive reminded her of someone. She tries squinting and…
… She looks like Apple. Way too much like Apple.
Pulling Raven out of her thoughts, Apple groans as she gains her consciousness, causing Raven to look at her and be happy that the blonde was okay. "Apple! Thank godmother you're alright!" she exclaimed.
"What happened?" Apple asked, confused as she looked at her roommate.
"Well, these people kidnapped you and then me as well and we're both trapped while I'm binded by these Magic cuffs."
Apple looked at her captors, only to blink making sure her eyes didn't deceive her as she looked at faces she only dreamed of seeing for years.
"Gale?! Axel?!"
Raven looked at her, confused. "Hang on, you know them?!"
"Heh,heh," the boy, Axel, nervously waves. "Hey... Sis."
Raven's eyes went up like dinner plates, as her anger toward her kidnappers was all gone due to shock. Her brain was short-circuiting with one word popping to her brain which was 'What?'
Taking a better look, Raven realized that the two in front of her had many similarities to the fair princess. Blonde hair, blue eyes and that was a tad bit darker than Apple's, even the fair skin. The brother looked to show these similarities, but the sister looked to be a carbon copy of Apple if you ignore the short hair with pink in it along with the tattoos.
"Where have you two been?!" Apple asked, who was the angry one this time. "Do you have any idea how worried I was when you two left? You gave mother a heart attack and left me all alone in my room!"
"We didn't think it could get that bad," said a very nervous Gale.
"It was on my 6th birthday!"
"Okay yeah that was pretty cruel of us to do that. But it was for a good reason." Gale responded. She wishes she could just bury herself in all the guilt and also for Apple to stop yelling.
"What reason would give you two the idea to leave your sister on her birthday with nothing left but herself in her room waiting for you two?!"
"Okay, I'm still in the dark here?" Raven asked, she didn't know what was happening other than that her crush's older siblings were here and apparently left Apple alone on her birthday (which she was angry at). But she still felt confused and so was Apple.
Gale looked at her, "Oh! Right! We still need to introduce ourselves. I'm Abigale White! But you can call me 'Gale' for short!" She said all bubbly, reminding the witch of Apple's cute behavior.
Axel then bowed to the two, "And I'm Axel White. The youngest of the twins. And what seems to be your name?" He politely asks Raven.
"Raven Queen. And before you ask questions, yes, I'm the daughter of the Evil Queen. And, no, I'm not like my mother." Raven answered.
"Okay then!" Gale says, clapping her hands together, "Now that that's out of the way, we can tell you why we are here."
The two of them, who are still tied up, were readying themselves for what the two were about to say.
"We came here in order to save everyone from an evil mastermind who has been mind controlling people to support destiny and to take over all of Ever After and other universes and to do that we need to find the actual Storybook of Legends that's been hidden and not to mention a bunch of allies."
Moments happened. Seconds, then turned to minutes.
Apple's right eye twitch. Raven could only look at them dumbfounded.
"Uh... Why are you two just staring at us like that?" Axel asked.
Raven coughs, "You two do realize that the storybook of legends is gone because I got rid of it along with the curse in Wonderland, right? Or have you two not been in Ever After for so long to not realize?"
Apple could only burst out in rage. "Are you telling me that you two were gone for nothing?!"
"Okay, first off, it wasn't for nothing if a bunch of innocent people wouldn't suffer. And second, the book of legends isn't completely gone." Gale explained.
Silence... you might as well hear a cricket being heard in the distance.
"What?" the two teens asked at once.
"Well, not exactly, how do we put this into words?" Axel intervened, "you can copy the book?"
They were still quiet.
"I think we need a better explanation." pointed out Gale with her half lid eyes.
"Alright, you may not believe it but there is a whole other place, a vault, where the book is being copied and printed again in secret in order to keep destiny going on." Axel tried explaining.
Yeah, that sounded ridiculous. Apple raised a brow as she looked at a bewildered Raven and then back at her older siblings thinking that they needed mental health.
Gale can sense their criticism, she would be offended but she honestly was used to this.
"Well, do you think that time you mentioned wasn't the first time that someone tried destroying the book? We're not the only ones against it. Not to mention some others before us who might think getting a bunch of kids with shitty destinies is a tad cruel."
"How do you know this?" Raven asked. She couldn't even believe what these two were saying. It sounded suspicious that these two would figure this out when Apple was 6 given how old they would have been and how other people don't know about this.
If anything, this information might make the twins look insane.
"We found this strange book about it in mom's room." said Axel while he picked up the book in his bag. "When we looked inside, we realized it was her diary that dated back to when we were 5. And the context in it was… um…."
"Something that ruined our childhood." Gale retorted, darkly that unnerved the two tied teens.
"Why would mother even..." Apple couldn't process the words, it was too much. "But how come it took you 10 years to find it? It sure seemed like it didn't take that long even with the book hidden."
"Well… We weren't the only ones who knew this and-"
"With mind controlled followers on our tail, success at retaliation was slim. So we needed some allies. And we were 8, what would a bunch of inexperienced 8 year olds do?" Gale interrupted, saying as if it was the most normal thing ever.
Yeah, what could they say to that? Even the thought of all of it seemed unbelievable. Though, the proof was in the book that Raven and Apple were taking a look at right now. Raven Cringed at the messy words and crazy scribbles and she would think that someone from an asylum wrote this.
Apple could tell that all of the writing seemed like someone was going mad. She didn't think her mother would even write… whatever this is. But another look at it and she could recognize her mother's handwriting.
Axel sighed in frustration. He was used to this but it didn't help make it any less tiring. "The day we left, we didn't really want to leave. But mom..."
He hated to tell this to his little sister but he had to. "She was under their control. I don't think she would remember what happened after that, but the person, or thing, controlling her let us go as long as we don't make all contact with Ever After so that you or mom wouldn't get hurt."
Apple felt herself crying. She was torn through all of this. Was all those times where her mother slapped her in the face whenever she did something to upset her really wasn't her? And what about her father? Did he know? Sure he was someone that was cold and distant but did he know before his passing? What other secrets have her family been hiding? All of it is just too much.
Raven felt her heart break as she saw the blonde shedding tears. She knew how it felt to be torn through family matters. The thought of Apple going through it made her want to cheer her up. Which is what she is doing.
"Apple, it will be alright. We can try and break whatever control is on her along with the others who are under their influence." the witch tried calming her down, then looked at the twins. "We'll help you two. I'm still skeptical about all this but I'll help."
The twins smiled at Raven's answer and Apple calmed down to nod. This wouldn't go wrong!
Raven was about to sit up, but then looked at the ropes. "But first can you untie us? Along with the cuffs?"
Maddie: Wow, that really had a lot of stuff mixed in.
Brooke: I have to agree with her on this.
Lucky: Same
C'mon, I thought of this story a year ago. When trying to figure out the plot holes and other stuff, it gets hard to rewrite it all.
Kitty: No kidding. I'm reading her old writing journal of the original story and I can already sense a lot of cringe and plot holes coming from it.
Brooke: Me too.
Hey! Where did you get that!? Give it back!
Kitty: Nope! Ain't gonna happen. And wow, you're making a bunch of teenagers do all of that? This is overkill.
Maddie: Give that back Kitty. It's not nice to look into other's secrets!
Kitty: Never stopped me. But I'll make an exception on one condition.
What is it?
Kitty: (Pleading) Get me out of cleaning duty. I know I messed up when I made a deal with triangle. I already apologized and helped Corgo clean every inch of the ballroom.
Fine.
Brooke: We have a ballroom?
It's new. I'll show you later.
