"So where are you from?" Nathan asked. As they headed inside the modest home.
"LA and New York. I went between both those places my whole life."
"My parents are a big deal in the business world. My dad is the face of his company. I've lived a life of money and status which has alot of fun perks." Brooke explained.
"How did you go from that to ending up here.?" Nathan asked.
"You sure ask alot of questions." Brooke replied.
"I'm curious." Nathan replied.
"Why is she staying here at all?" Lucas questioned.
"She needs help Lucas. I'm not going to turn someone in need away when there is something i can do."
"You know that." Karen replied.
"Deb can go back to Dan anytime but she stays here."
"Because she doesn't want to leave you alone."
"They feel sorry for us don't you get that!" Lucas exclaimed. Before storming out.
A bedroom door opened. And Deb engulfed Karen into a hug.
"You know none of that is true. Dan may want me back but i would never go back to him."
"You've given me and Nathan a real home. Dan was and will never be capable of that." Deb insisted.
"I'm going to go for a drive." Karen replied.
"I should let you unpack." Nathan said. As he went over to where his mom was.
"Is everything okay?" Nathan questioned.
"Lucas is in one of his moods. You know that affects the whole house. We wanted Brooke's first day to be calm and welcoming."
"His issues are with Dan but Karen gets the pushback."
"It's just hard to watch." Deb admits.
"Tell momma Karen not to worry about dinner. I was going out anyway. I'll pick up something for all of this." Nathan replied.
"Thank you son." Deb said. As she re entered her bedroom.
"Stop calling and texting me Dan. I mean it." Deb said. As she ending the call.
