Chapter 154 Crackdown

Disclaimer: I don't own anything this is just a story for fun.

Things began to change around the Amitrax System as Pariah Dark took charge. The first was the increase demands of various resources from the system's planets too be used on the construction of the Disasteroid. There was also demands for the Tartarus prison and for other prisons on other planets to hand over large amounts of their prisoners for a special work and rehabilitation program, which in reality the prisoners were just being used for slave labor for the Disasteroid. It would long grueling work to complete the project.

The Learnatorium was also finished being built and it was going to be used as a place to teach and reeducate youths and delinquents about the rules of the Empire and turn them all into loyalists to the Empire. Pariah Dark made plans to visit to use his powers on youths with connections to powerful families. After all the one who controlled the youth controlled the future.

Pariah Dark and Vlad also started setting up curfews and increasing military patrols on Casper and a few other planets. There was also more spying on the local citizens and if any person was suspected of being a Rebel or someone supporting the Rebels in anyway, they were arrested and thrown in jail, if they were really unlucky they were either sent to work in a weapons factory or on the Disasteroid. The drastic laws proved to be somewhat affective and a few low level Rebels were captured.

This of course made things very hard for the Rebels, who now had to be more careful about what they did. Sam had to be extra careful about how to move her forces, collect information, and keep her involvement with the Rebels secret.

Governor Lancer wasn't too thrilled about the changes and he began to feel more like just a figurehead and office worker then a given or anyone with real power. Jazz was also not fond of the changes and saw it as terrible PR and she was definitely not a fan of the Empire using her files and notes to arrest anyone who dared questioned or complained about the Empire. Worse still Jazz had barely seen Wraith since the changes were put into place and the few times she did she could tell that Wraith was tired and unhappy about the way things were. Jazz had tried to get Wraith to open up to her and tell her what was wrong and maybe try to get her to turn against Vlad and the Empire, but Wraith wouldn't open and just deflect any of Jazz's attempts to get her to talk about what was bothering her. The older girl was sadden by this because, she saw Wraith as a sister and she didn't like seeing her miserable. Jazz brought her concerns to her mother and Danny who were also concerned about the young clone, but didn't quite know how to help her or get out of Vlad's grasp.

Things only seemed to get worse as the Empire cracked down on companies that had ties to Big Dady and various other individuals that helped the Rebels in the past making it more difficult for the Rebels to get information about the Empire.

The regular citizens could hardly do anything these days without the Empire keeping an eye on them. They couldn't even have public gatherings now. Performers like Chip Skylark and Ember McLain tried to have a peaceful protest and concert about the unfair rules of the Empire, but dozens of squads of Stormtroopers showed up and arrested the celebrities and a good amount of the concert goers.

It was utter madness and the Rebels realized that had to make a stand somewhere and make a move if they wanted to ever loosen Pariah Dark and the Empire's grip on the Amitrax System. Clockwork went into deep meditation and began to peer into the future to come up with a plan as Danny and the others waited and tried to come up with plans of their own.

To be continued.
