Chapter 1- Real World, here we come
Fellow poor critters. Bruised up. Flickies, all these innocent creatures. The same ones he had to save years back on his very first adventure. They are all dead.
You can pretty much thank one evil, mad, world dominating scientist for it. Doctor Eggman.
Doctor Eggman was originally born Ivo Robotnik or as people would call him, "Mr. Tinker" as he would try to fix broken machines. The man who admired his grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik, since he was a child. One who wanted to follow Grandpa Gerald's footsteps, to use his research for good. However, as fate had it, Maria, Eggman's cousin, was killed aboard the ark. His grandfather was executed. All done by G.U.N, heartless monsters who did not care for innocent human lives. He went mad, and rather than dedicating his research to help humanity, he became corrupt. It wasn't long before he became the insane, psychopathic madman he is today. Always wanting to kill Sonic, a teenage blue hedgehog with emerald green eyes, for always stopping him. He would dedicate his life getting rid of the poor hedgehog, who was only doing the same thing Gerald was doing. To help humanity.
Eggman, at this point, knows that what he is doing is evil. He just does not care.
Eggman doesn't care about all the innocent animal lives he just outright killed in front of Sonic.
Green Hill Zone now resembles a barren wasteland.
Master Chief sneaks around, looking at the fallen sights of the deceased innocent critters. Cortana, the voice inside Master Chief's head, gasps. "What monster could ever do this?" she says. A transmission comes through to his radio. It's from the Arbiter. What did you encounter in this strange world?
"The locals have all been killed. It's too late to rescue any of them now." Cortana replies. Understood, Arbiter Vadam spoke. Meet us at the Pelican, the mission is over.
"No. We got a job to do." Master Chief interrupts. "What? We can't…there's nothing else here for us to do." Cortana argues. "Let's check out what else is going on." He takes his MA5C assault rifle out of his back to search.
Just do what you can, then return to the landing zone. Arbiter says before the radio cuts off.
The Master Chief runs off and eventually stops to see the action unfolding between what appears to be a sentient blue hedgehog and a mad, bald scientist on a hovership.
Sonic looks at Eggman. Downright furious at what the doctor has done.
"Eggman. I never thought I would see this day where you would go this far." said Sonic
Eggman chuckles.
"My plan is finally complete. I will rule the world like I have always dreamed of, and nothing can stand in my way!" he said
Sonic growls. He is beyond angry. He is furious!
He begins to turn into darkness.
"You MONSTER!" yelled Sonic, as his body begins getting darker. His usual blue color becomes a much darker blue, nearly black. Dark purple aura is pulsating throughout his whole body.
"Do you not care?! The fact that you KILLED innocent little, defenseless creatures, with zero remorse may I add, is utterly disgusting! I may have always been utterly pissed with every single thing you have done and tried to pull, but I saw moments. Moments where I thought you had standards. It was fun beating the crap out of you. But now, you have officially crossed the line. I thought you were better than this, Ivo. I really did!" Sonic yelled out as he snapped, now in his dark form
Doctor Eggman is taken back by what Sonic just referred to him as.
Ivo…
He had not been called by that name in years. His first name. He did not expect his blue, spiky arch-nemesis to be actually calling him by his real name.
But he didn't like what Sonic said. Not at all.
"Have you lost your mind! They didn't deserve this fate! Especially not to the likes of you and your pathetic kind! Your grandfather must be really proud of you, huh? He is rolling in his grave I'd bet! Oh wait. You just don't care! You'd rather everyone of us suffer just because you want to build your precious Eggman empire to rule over the world! None of this fooling around will be happening. Not any more." said Sonic
Sonic decides to do his spindash, flies up towards Eggman and attacks him. Sonic uses his bare hands to send Eggman flying. He kicks and growls.
Sonic the Hedgehog has had enough. He is ripping off Eggman's glasses, revealing his true eyes to be all black and red. Looking disturbingly robotic. Then he is stabbing his enemy in the chest, with a spin dash attack, leaving it all battered.
Eggman screams as he goes even more insane from Dark Sonic torturing him.
"Arggghhhh! I hate that Hedgehog!" Eggman screamed.
Sonic then uses his fists, crushing all of Eggman's little robots. Causing them to be broken into bits and pieces. Not even Orbot and Cubot are safe as Sonic takes each of them, and rips them apart with his bare hands, breaking them all up.
Sonic is growing way more aggressive in his dark super form. He's had enough.
"My robots…they are all destroyed." said Eggman, horrified at what Sonic did
"Thanks for wasting 15 years of my life, jerk. Good riddance." said Sonic
Right beside Sonic is his sidekick, Tails. Miles "Tails" Prower, Sonic's best friend who he has come to see the blue hedgehog as his brother, is horrified at what Eggman had done. He doesn't blame Sonic one bit for going berserk.
Tails, deciding Sonic needs some more help, joins in the action. His fur turns from yellow orange to all dark black. Purple, dark, aura is now pulsating throughout his entire body. His eyes are glowing red.
"Eggman, let's settle the score." said Tails, with a smirk on his face.
"Tails?" Sonic looks at the two tailed fox, in shock,
"Sonic, I need my moment. I have been completely reduced to being a useless coward for a while now. I need to actually help you." said Tails,
Sonic nods, in agreement.
Suddenly, both Dark Sonic and Dark Tails fly up. Dark Sonic carried Eggman's body while they were flying up. Dark Tails grabs Eggman's mustache, and begins to twirl him around, eventually causing Eggman to crash into his ship.
He screams.
"Nooooooooooooo"
The ship explodes. Doctor Eggman vanishes in a blinding white light.
Sonic and Tails turn back to normal, no longer in their dark forms.
Amy Rose and Knuckles the Echidna have been standing there the whole time. Cream the Rabbit is with them, there she is holding her pet chao Cheese.
Sonic looks at four of his friends (even including Cheese) and his girlfriend. Emotionless and cold.
"I can't take this anymore. Never again will I ever fight Eggman. He should be gone for good this time. I am going to quit. I have to retire. That way, I can always be with Amy Rose. Tails. Everyone. There will be no threat or harm to us." said Sonic, "I quit!"
Cream sheds a few tears
"Mister Sonic…you don't have to do this for us."
"Chao, chao." said Cheese
Sonic goes to hug Cream.
"Don't worry. I will be there. More than ever." said Sonic,
"Sonic, this is crazy! You can't quit! You are basically the protector of all of us." said Knuckles
"Exactly. Sonic has never been one to give up!" said Amy
Sonic looks at them
"I'm sorry, but things must come to an end. I can't be doing this forever. Plus I am basically sick to death of having to beat Eggman all the time. It's not fun anymore and it keeps getting worse." said Sonic,
Amy sees that Sonic wants to retire to no longer put up with Eggman so he can be with her and all of his friends.
"Okay. I'll respect your decision. However, There is one thing I must ask. What if Eggman decides to come back though and try to hurt us? Would you still be resorting to quitting then? I am literally just saying. Doctor Eggman is very dangerous. You were the hero I fell in love with, and you always will be! That's why I have to wonder what consequences will happen if Eggman returns and you have already quit!" said Amy
Sonic thinks about it for a moment. He looks over to Tails. Tails agrees with Amy. Knuckles as well. Then, Cream.
Sonic changes his mind.
"I will never give up! It doesn't matter what happens, cause I'll be ready for it." said Sonic
"Does that means you're not quitting?" asked Knuckles
Sonic nods.
Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream and Cheese are relieved.
Suddenly, a huge mirror opens wide and appears right in front of them.
Sonic is curious.
Tails literally goes to follow Sonic to the mirror because he is curious as well.
Sonic walks up to the mirror and touches it. A portal appears.
Sonic is shocked, as well as the five others that are with him. Somehow, they all knew, that this portal is controlled & manipulated by Eggman.
Sonic uses chaos control to destroy the portal. Unfortunately, that doesn't work.
He gets sucked inside the portal. It causes Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Cheese and all the other Sonic characters to be sucked inside the portal as well. A portal to another world.
*Arrival to the United States. New York City. The streets of Manhattan^
Sonic's POV
I woke up in a strange location. I see nobody that I know. Nothing is familiar here.
Apparently, it's daylight or at least the barely since I see the sun setting.
I get up on my feet.
"Ugh my head.."
*Chris's Apartment, Harlem Manhattan, New York City, alternate Earth*
Chris's POV
Hi. My name is Chris Thorndyke. I live alone in an apartment, with my eccentric grandfather, who is too busy doing scientific research most of the time, our cat, and my little sister, Anna. My parents have to work so much in order for us to get enough money to move elsewhere because we are poor. Grandpa Chuck had gotten just enough money to put a roof over our heads (food and water) and send me to school.
My older brother, Johnny, moved to Virginia a few years ago to be with his wife. He wanted to get away from this dump.
I don't blame him.
Me and Anna are running around in the house, chasing each other. We are playing tag.
"Hehe got ya!" I said, tagging Anna.
Anna and I run around like wild animals. Anna runs in front of me. She sticks her tounge at me.
"Na na na na. You can't catch me." said Anna,
Anna is 10 years old. She has light, dirty blonde hair, with pigtails. She wears an orange dress with a bright blue ribbon. She has chocolate brown eyes. She wears crocs on her feet
Everyone compliments about how adorable my little sister is every time I had to pick her up from school. I can see why. She is sweet, kind, innocent and caring.
But sometimes, she can be a real pain.
Her best friend is our cat named Cheese. He's a black tabby cat with yellow eyes.
I still love Anna regardless just like I love Grandpa, Johnny and Cheese. They are my family, a good family…
I smile as I continue to play with Anna.
*Back on the streets of Manhattan*
Sonic's POV
I sniff.
This place smells disgusting! Why just why did I have to end up in such a disgusting dump? I would rather be kicking Eggman's heinie than to have to end up in such a filthy place.
All these people are walking around in such a big city. They are staring at me like I am weird or something. I guess they don't have blue hedgehogs in whatever this place is.
"What's this thing?"
"I think this is Sonic the Hedgehog"
"But how? He is just a fictional character. He doesn't even exist!"
"Maybe we are all hallucinating or something!"
I am pretty sure I can hear the things that these people are saying about me.
So many people, almost everyone in this place is looking at me. I swear, I saw a news reporter with a camera in my face.
A police car comes towards me. A cop gets out of the car. He has a big, black mustache. He has darker, black skin. He doesn't look like someone I am familiar with.
Another police car comes and this time, another cop comes out. He looks much younger than the other cop. He has orange hair. His blue eyes look down at me. He wears two black and red gloves. He has a smirk on his face.
The older cop looks at me, all weirdly.
Shoot! One of the people must have alerted the police or something.
"Hey, what are you doing here little fella?" asked the older cop, like he's not expecting me to speak
"I don't know how I ended up here." I said
The two cops are shocked that I can speak.
"Wait a second. You look kind of familiar. Who are you, exactly?" asked the younger cop.
"I'm Sonic- Sonic the Hedgehog." I said
The younger cop steps forward and introduces himself.
"I'm Sam!" he said,
"I'm Rick. You look lost." the older cop said
"Yeah. What's the point?" asked Sonic
"You look very unique, like you are that character from the video game series my son plays. How about you come with us?" asked Rick
"Yeah! I can even take you for a ride in my super cool, fast police vehicle." said Sam
"Sure. Whatever gets me out of here faster." I said
Sam smiles and takes my hand. He hauls me inside the police car.
"Sam. I warn you, I can outrun you. I'm the fastest thing alive." I said, with a smirk.
"Sure, sure you are." said Sam, not believing me one bit.
Sam starts the police car. Suddenly, it goes so fast.
Rick's car follows us.
"Woah! This is way too fast for me! I'm out of here!" I said, pulling the windows down and I escape out of Sam's car.
I ran ahead of Sam and Rick. I stick my tounge out at Sam and I run even faster.
"Holy crap! Sonic wasn't kidding. He is really super-fast up close like he is in the games! I must be going crazy or something because this is not possible" said Sam,
(No POV)
Sam tries to speed up ahead of Sonic. Sonic had gone farther up. Rick follows Sam, who is aware that Sonic is faster than them both.
"He's too fast. We can't get him!" said Rick
"I know! He's even faster than I am." said Sam, "I want him as my pet,"
"Remember, Sam. Sonic will only stay at the station at night. Tomorrow, he will be brought to a government facility somewhere farther in this country where he will be tested on." said Rick
Sam is shocked.
"You can't do that!" yelled Sam, in protest
"And why not?! We will get fired if we don't do that! Now everyone in this city knows about Sonic being here. Even the mayor! The whole world will soon know about him!" yelled out Rick,
Sam is angry and fed up. He knows Sonic did nothing to deserve being experimented on or taken hostage by the entire federal government.
Meanwhile, Sonic the Hedgehog ends up in a location where the two cops can't even see him. Sonic stops running to take a break. He ended up in Rockefeller Plaza.
*Rockefeller Plaza*
Sonic's POV
"Woah. What is this place?" I thought
My head is spinning. I take a deep breath.
I walk around a bit. I see a logo. A logo that says "Nintendo". I look and see it's a store.
"Nintendo New York huh? Cool!" I said.
I ran inside the door.
I walk around the store. It's filled with video game stuff.
I see something that catches my eye
It's a game, with me on the cover of it. Not just that but the title. Sonic Forces. It says it's for the Nintendo Switch. I touch the cover.
I immediately get flashbacks. Flashbacks of having to face off against Eggman and that…horrible creature known as Infinite. I am all confused
"Sonic Forces? Does that mean…" I thought, "Am I not supposed to exist in this world?"
(No POV)
Sonic is shocked to see that in this other world, he is just a video game character. That his adventures have been games.
He ran out of the store.
The police cars finally keep up and see him but Sonic runs faster from them, much to Sam and Rick's disappointment.
However, some guy driving a taxi in the city somehow manages to see Sonic and proceeds to go towards him, despite knowing full well that an animal could very well get hit.
The guy in the backseat that the taxi driver is driving yells.
"Stop! Don't you care that a poor defenseless animal is on the street?! You could kill it if you go farther enough!"
The taxi driver responds, in his Brooklyn accent.
"I don't care if that silly furry animal gets hurt. All I am here to do is drop you off. I need the money. Ungrateful jerk." he said.
The taxi driver drives ahead.
Sonic looks at his surroundings. He screams as the taxi is about to hit him.
The taxi hits Sonic but instead of killing him, Sonic is bounced and sent flying into the sky.
The taxi driver stops. He and the guy who he is taking to his destination both are shocked at what just happened.
"Man, that hedgehog is powerful, but he looks very familiar." the taxi driver said.
He keeps driving ahead.
*Chris's Apartment, Harlem*
Chris's POV
We are finished with dinner. I figured that I can take Anna on a walk, since it's so beautiful outside today. Anna really wants to watch the sunset so she is on board with that idea.
"Hey, Grandpa! Is it alright if me and Anna take a walk around the neighborhood?" I asked,
"Pleaseee, Grandpa?" asked Anna, pleading,
"Sure, kids. You can. Just don't go to far." said Grandpa Chuck
"Yay!" me and Anna both said.
I take Anna by the hand.
We run downstairs and exited the apartment.
On the Streets of Harlem
Chris's POV
Me and Anna are both breathing in the fresh air. It's 5:30, so the sun is just starting to set at that time.
We walk onto some, crunchy, fall leaves that are starting to come down from the trees.
Anna is happily jumping on the leaves and crunching them. It's a nice, crisp fall day.
Then, we saw something.
Me and my sister look up. Something is falling down from the sky. It's almost like a shooting star. However, what we see does not look like a shooting star to me.
"Holy crap!" I said "Something blue is headed straight towards us."
"It's a plane!" said Anna
"No, it's a bird." I said
"Woahhhhhhhhhh!" the blue thing screamed out.
Suddenly, what appears to be a blue hedgehog with sneakers comes crashing on the streets inside a leaf pile that someone raked.
Me and Anna run towards the spiky fellow.
We rummage through the leaves to see a pretty bruised up, blue anthropomorphic hedgehog. It does not look real at all, he looks like something from a cartoon.
I don't know if we can tell Grandpa about this. He might think Anna has a wonderful imagination, and that I am hallucinating to the point where he will send me to the looney bin.
"Holy CRAP!" I exclaimed,
The blue hedgehog groans. Bruises and cuts all over him.
"We have to take him to the vet!" exclaimed Anna
"No...we can't do that. We will have to figure out another way." I said
