It's been three months since the Union Project began. The project, of course, was a test to see if they could combine the Other Realm and the Mushroom Kingdom into one, a similar idea from when the Mushroom and human worlds combined. What was the Other Realm, exactly?

The Other Realm was a place filled with demons and magic. Technology was a new concept to them, as all of it had been hoarded by their vile King, Darethend. Fortunately, they've begun to branch into new things, such as phones and other technology ever since Peach and Rosalina had stopped Darethend. Most demons in the Mushroom Kingdom, like the Chaos Heart, had come from the Other Realm.

Olly, the Origami King, had put two of his best technological geniuses in charge of The Gate, the tear in reality created by the Chaos Heart Entity that connects the Mushroom Kingdom and Other Realm together.

Dimentio came to a stop at the barrier guard.

Fawful beamed when he saw his friend. "Dimentio!"

He and Princess Shroob ran The Gate from a tower, which Fawful took a bit to climb down from. He rushed to Dimentio, throwing his arms around him and lifting him into the air.

"Fawful missed you!"

Dimentio pat Fawful's nearly-bald head. "Me as well. C-could you please let me go? You're crushing my spine."

"What are you doing in this place of The Gate?"

He rubbed his back. "I was possibly-maybe-considering going back...home? The Other Realm is where I was born, after all."

Princess Shroob spoke from the tower. "You'll need an ID badge. We'll have to scan your memory to see if you're safe to let through or not first, however." She pointed at a seat near the closed barrier. "Sit."

"I-I don't think that's a good idea. I've been through a lot."

Fawful started pushing him from behind. "It can't be of that awfulness!"

He tried to run, but Fawful grabbed his collar and forcefully sat him down. He grabbed a small circular item and stuck it to Dimentio's forehead after removing his mask. It was cold, and Dimentio shivered. Fawful gave Princess Shroob a thumbs up, and she typed something into her laptop.

"It has none of the pain! Just sit still for a second and do a relaxing!"

"How do I tell Fawful that I haven't been able to relax since the Renascence?" Dimentio kept his mouth shut, but wondered what they were doing.

Dimentio felt light-headed for a second, then blacked out. He sat up to find himself in his own past, when his life was saved by Jumpman. He saw a younger version of himself run through a portal. He blacked out again, but caught himself before he fell on his face.

This time, Piper and Em had befriended him, and they agreed to become royalty together. They faded away, and showed Piper teaching him how to whittle. He smiled a bit, he'd nearly forgotten about that.

Next thing he knew, Piper was dead, Em was hunting him down, and he had to become a mercenary to stay out of the kingdom. Em finally found him, they fought, and then his other friend was killed.

Past Dimentio started to hide his face behind a mask, which Dimentio touched as the illusion dream version of himself made the one he used to wear. The mask got him hired as a jester, where it didn't take long for him to take over the kingdom. The people revolted him out, and he was on the run again.

Dimentio watched as he was hired by Count Bleck, who he stabbed in the back. Super Dimentio was born, then killed, and he suffered in the Underwhere, clinging to the tiniest bit of his magic that kept him alive and connected to the mortal realm. He'd had enough, found a way to escape, and decided to take out his rage on Izuku and Class 1-A. Dimentio realized that he'd grown fond of them after a bit, and remembered he promised Izuku he would call him but never got to it.

He relived the battles, trauma, and pain he'd been and put others through. He felt a certain relief when he saw his father again, but that too vanished with the illusion.

He gasped, sitting up from his slumped position. Fawful was frowning a bit, but didn't seem to be disappointed or mad. Dimentio wiped a tear from his eyes and put his mask back on.

"That's my sob story."

Princess Shroob gave Fawful a look.

"Let him in," Fawful said. "Fawful's seen his changing. He's better now."

"You saw Sandrahara, didn't you?" Dimentio asked.

"Everything," Princess Shroob said plainly. "But if Fawful trusts you, I guess I can let you through. But if you do anything there that causes trouble, your pass is getting revoked and you'll never be able to go back there again. Understand?"

Dimentio nodded. "You can trust me, it's a simple meeting with my father. He wanted to show me around, and tell me things. I think it sounds boorish, but if it'll get me some time to spend with him then...I don't really mind." He rose from the seat.

"You can go through." Princess Shroob opened the metal gate that blocked the Rift.

"Many thanks, Princess Shroob. And you too, I suppose." He flicked Fawful's glasses rim.

Fawful fixed his glasses. "Have fun!"

"I wouldn't count on it."
