Scene from Justified season 4 episode 13 (Ghosts):

"If you need to talk to someone" Raylan says to Tim "You got Rachel/I got Rachel" Tim and Raylan said in unison and Givens left.

Tim finished his paperwork for the day and started to pick his things. Rachel looked up at him and studied him for a minute

"Tim?"

"Hm?" he stopped by her desk

"All good?"

"Sure" Gutterson grinned "why wouldn't it?" Rachel just shrugged and came back to finishing her report.

Tim really meant what he said. He was fine. He drove home, grabbed a beer from the fridge and turned the radio on – his favorite rock station. He's fine, why wouldn't he be. Mark was dead. One of his best friends from military, the only one who lived in the area, was dead. Tim got the guy who killed Mark so he was OK. Right? He took a second beer and went to the bathroom. Hot shower always helps when he's stressed. Tim started the water and stepped in when it got warm enough. He stood there under the stream and just breathed, at first calmly but after a while it got quicker and harder. He felt his heart beating faster and anger raising. He wasn't sure what he was angry at but he couldn't control it. He tried but after few minutes of failed attempts and when he felt tears welling up in his eyes he just had to find a release – he punched a wall once, twice… he lost count. When he felt the pain he screamed and stepped back, his back finding a wall and he slid down. He sat on the shower floor until the water turned cold and he felt a little chilly. He got out, dried himself and put on some loose T-shirt and shorts, found some frozen peas for his hand. He sat on his kitchen floor with a bottle of whisky and tried not to think about his friend's body.

*Tim help me* he heard in the darkness, he looked around trying to locate who called him *Tim* he didn't see anything but he knew the voice *Mark?* he tried walking in one direction – he realized he is at the drug dealer's house but he was alone in the dark *Tim, buddy, help me* Mark's voice sounded like he was right beside him *Mark, where are you?* Nothing. He turned around and noticed his friend body on the floor, he stepped closer to it. *Tim help please* he made another step – Mark eyes snapped opened – they were dead like the last time he saw them, Tim couldn't move he just stared *please Tim* he made a step closer and Mark's body jumped and made a move to grab him…

Tim woke up with a start, still on the kitchen floor with empty bottle of whisky in his left hand and his right throbbing mercilessly.

"Shit" he let out under his breath.

Luckily he knew a former military medic he could call who would help without asking to many questions. He worked in Albert B. Chandler Hospital and promised to take care of Tim's hand under the radar – as long as he didn't need heavy duty pain medication it wasn't an issue. It turned out he had a hairline fracture in two of the carpals in his right hand *fucking awesome* Gutterson thought.

"It could be worse" Max Warren – the doctor apparently noticed his expression.

"Thanks Doc" Tim said quietly and started to gather his things.

"Wanna talk about it?" Max motioned to Tim's hand, now covered by a blue-gray brace. Gutterson only gave him a look that basically said screw you and left. Warren only shook his head.

Next day he did all he could to avoid talking to Rachel and Art, and anybody else really. He took all possible subpoena deliveries and besides that he stayed to himself typing reports – excruciatingly slow. Brooks tried to get him to tell her what happened to his hand but Tim just grunted that it's none of her business and fell silent again. Mullen saw the interaction and made a disapproving face. He really had to come up with a way to fix that, whatever that was – Tim in that state can be either dangerous to others or to himself – or both. That seemed like something Art was sort of expecting but hoped would never happen. He poured himself a glass of his Pappy Van Winkle and it seemed to give him an idea.
