Angry9guy: Hey everyone! This is a whole new universe! Well, not new. I'm doing a collab with StarlitDuck. This is set in her Super Koopalings Universe, but I'm here to help her out. Oh, and Gothy is here too. He created… Well, he created 2 new ocs who may just be Mario's biggest challenge. You wanna know who they are? Just read, dang it. Oh this will mainly focus on Bowser and the Koopalings.
GothmogOnslat: Actually, four. Their mugshots are on my Deviantart page if you wanna look. Meantime, welcome and enjoy the show!
AN StarlitDuck: Hey everyone. Now, you might be wondering; what's with the surprise new story? Well, dear viewers, recently, I was contacted by Angry9guy, and he said that he wanted to do a collab. I said sure, that sounds like it could be fun. And so, this story was born. I will give credit where it's due: the idea is entirely Angry9guy's, and I think it's a REALLY good idea. And the OCs that belong to GothmogOnslat are good too. I am really happy that I got an opportunity to work with them. :)
Now, for this first chapter in particular, Angry9guy and Goth wrote it, and I decided to expand on it to make the chapter more detailed. I also split the first chapter into separate chapters. I hope you guys enjoy this, especially Angry9guy in particular.
Anyway, on with the show!
The screen was dark, in a house on Earth.
It shows a young boy twirling gadgets.
Then, a girl was kicking up and another boy had electric sparks as they leaped out of the house and cheered.
"Woo-hoo!" they yell. They start bouncing on houses but one of them trips into the others and falls into a green pipe.
Super Koopalings: Power Raid! Electric sparks float around the title logo.
Chapter 1 Bone Mage and Boo Dude
Ludwig giggled, his face heating up as he looked down at his phone. He and his girlfriend Aria Shellcreep were talking to each other via text message, with the content of the messages hot enough to make one think Valentine's Day came early. This wasn't just a one-off, five-minute activity that didn't define the day, oh no. This chain of texts had been updated at least once every five minutes for the past four hours. The best part was that these messages, filled with the words of love and attraction, didn't show any sign of stopping any time soon. Ludwig's giggling grew more intense as he typed another message to Aria, loving her more and more as he pressed the send button.
"Oh man!" Ludwig, smiling, let out a breath and leaned back on the common room couch. "This…" he chuckled some more and placed his hand to his heart. "I am one lucky koopa." He paused, thinking about his and Aria's relationship. It was too good to be true. It really was. It had been too good to be true when it started, and it was still too good to be true now. Aria… oh, what could one possibly say about her? There were countless words in the English language that had positive definitions, but none of them were developed enough to fully capture Ludwig's feelings about his girlfriend. He could call her amazing, wonderful, magnificent… and even still, all those incredibly descriptive words would be gross understatements.
Ludwig let out another sigh. He closed his eyes as he waited for the chime on his phone. He had asked Aria in the last message if she wanted to go out for dinner. He would let her choose the restaurant, and now he just had to wait until she revealed her place of preference. The phone chimed, and he was just about to look at the message when…
"Hey, Ludwig!"
Ludwig smiled when he heard the melodic, high-pitched voice he had grown to love so much. "Hey Lems!" Ludwig set the phone to the side for a second (just a second). "What's up?"
Lemmy, who Ludwig just noticed had come into the room riding on his circus ball, bounced on the ball and landed on his hands. "I'm just having fun."
Ludwig snorted. "That is so typically you that I'm surprised I didn't guess that."
Lemmy laughed. "Yeah!" He did another flip, landing on his feet. "As for what you're doing… well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on." Ludwig raised an eyebrow as Lemmy explained. "You're pink in the face, you're smiling nonstop, you aren't showing any signs of stress…" Lemmy's eyes glittered. "You're talking to Aria, aren't you?"
Ludwig blushed for the millionth time in the past half hour alone. "Yeah, I am." He picked his phone back up, figuring now would be a good time to respond to Aria's most recent text. "We're just discussing what life's like, what we want to do on dates…"
"Figuring out what would be the most effective way to share a kiss…" Lemmy giggled
Ludwig gave him a look. "No. We aren't talking about that."
"Why not? Kisses are nice! I don't think you'd want to kiss out on that!"
Ludwig snickered as Lemmy delved into a laughing fit. "That's good, Lems. Not your best, but definitely good." He looked back down at his phone, and his face lit up when he read the text message. "Ooh, the Palace of Spice!" He immediately started texting back. "Yeah, that's a good choice…"
Lemmy was all laughter. That wasn't too out of the ordinary for him, but Ludwig noted how his laughter was much stronger than it was normally. "Oh, Ludwig." He bounced up and down on his ball. "You really found the perfect girl. You need to ask her to marry you before some bozo finds out how great she is and tries to steal her from you."
Now, when Ludwig blushed, he did it for a completely different reason. "I… uh… I…" He cleared his throat. "I'm saving a marriage proposal for the right time." He paused. "That's something the two of us need to be ready for, you know?"
"Yeah. That makes sense."
Ludwig nodded. He was just about to get right back to answering Aria and retrieving more information about the restaurant outing when he heard the pounding of feet against the floor. He lifted his head, and the second he did, Roy and Wendy burst through the door. Roy jumped up on the couch, mere inches away from Ludwig, and held his hand high above his head. Upon looking at it, Ludwig could see that Roy had a charm bracelet from their sister.
"Roy, give it back!" Wendy exclaimed. "I need to wear it!"
Roy chuckled. "You don't need to wear it! You're beautiful just the way you are!"
Wendy huffed. "Well… I want to be more beautiful!" She jumped up on the couch and tried to grab the charm bracelet, but Roy was determined to keep it out of her reach. "Please, Roy! It goes perfectly with the outfit I want to wear!"
Ludwig rose into the air so that he was level with Roy's face. "Roy, give it back."
"What? You're taking Wendy's side? Come on, Ludwig; she doesn't need it! She's beautiful both inside and out, and all the bling and makeup she puts on completely overshadows her natural beauty!"
Ludwig snorted. "You mean how you being a jerk right now completely overshadows your natural kindness?" He telekinetically got the bracelet out of Roy's grasp and placed it around Wendy's wrist. "Wear it with pride, Wendy."
"Thanks, Ludwig!" Wendy looked down at the bracelet, twirling it this way and that without taking it off. "Seriously, this has got to be the most beautiful bracelet I've ever worn! DEFINITELY worth ten thousand coins!"
The eyes of all the boys grew wide. Ten thousand coins? TEN THOUSAND COINS? Holy heck; who in their right mind would spend ten thousand coins on a bracelet? Right as Ludwig was just about to talk to Roy, telling him he now had a better understanding of his perspective when, suddenly, Kamek came bursting through the door. This would've been weird enough, as Kamek very rarely came into the common room, but he also had a smile on his face. The only times Kamek smiled were when something was up, so Ludwig felt suspicious looking at him.
"Kamek? What are you doing here?"
"Oh, nothing." Kamek giggled. "I just came to give you all an interesting bit of news."
The four present Koopalings exchanged looks before Bowser also came into the room. He looked just as pleased and ecstatic as Kamek, if not more so. Ludwig couldn't remember the last time he had seen Bowser look this jovial, and it only made his suspicions rise higher.
"Hey, Bowser," Wendy said. "Is everything alright?"
"Everything's fine, baby." Bowser chuckled. "I just wanted to let you guys know that we've recruited some new allies into the Koopa Troop."
"New allies?" The four Koopalings asked in unison.
"Yep!" Bowser turned and gestured toward someone. "Well, what are you waiting for? Come on in!"
Bowser and Kamek cleared the way to let another person come into the common room. Ludwig did a double-take when he saw him. He was a dry bones, and that fact alone really threw Ludwig for a loop. He almost NEVER saw dry bones nowadays. When he was younger, they popped up all over the place, but as an adult, they were rarer than platinum. So, the person's species alone was enough to shock him.
But that wasn't the only part of this dry bones's appearance that was shocking. He also wore a wizard hat and a cape. THAT was extremely unusual for a dry bones, since the fact that they didn't have skin made it so that stuff that touched their bones caused them a really bad bout of discomfort. It was off-putting… but also extremely interesting.
"Who is this guy?" Ludwig asked.
Suddenly, a POOF occurred, and a green boo teleported in.
"GAAH! A ghost!" Roy screamed.
The ghost, who just so happened to be playing tunes on a music player he had teleported in with, laughed. "What's up, dudes!" He rapped. "The name's Boo Dude and I'm here to say! I'll scare the Mario Bros and make them pay! All the Koopas treat me with respect! The whole wide Koopa Kingdom is what I will protect!"
Bowser chuckled as Lemmy battled his borderline inappropriate laughter. "These guys came to me recently wanting to join the Koopa Troop! They said that they have some invaluable talents that could aid me in my endeavors. After all, they are VERY different from the typical minion!"
"Very different?" Ludwig asked. Okay, he could see that as the dry bones was dressed as a wizard and the boo was green, but…
"How are they different?" asked Roy as he eyed the dry bones. "This guy's just a dry bones in cosplay!"
The dry bones glared at Roy. "My name is Bone Mage…" he said with a rattling voice. Admittedly, Ludwig wanted to laugh when he heard this. Bone Mage? Seriously, Bone Mage? That struck him as REALLY funny. He would've laughed, but Bone Mage must've realized that and pulled out a wand. He chanted a spell and lifted the oldest Koopaling into the air. Ludwig gasped, feeling as though the magic that Bone Mage used was trying to squeeze the life out of him.
Thankfully, Bone Mage put him down within no time at all. "Until I found this wand, I was just another foot soldier." For the first time since coming into the room, Bone Mage smiled. "But I when I found it, I knew. I knew I could be so much more. I could be great, amazing, powerful. And why stop there?" Three more minions appeared behind him: a golden dry bones with a purple vest, a red Bob-omb with a military cap, and a blooper with charcoal skin and magma eyes.
Lemmy's eyes grew even wider. "Wha… what… what are…"
"These are the rest of the new recruits!" Bowser exclaimed, looking supremely excited. "They offered to join the Koopa Troop alongside Bone Mage and Boo Dude." Bowser looked ready to jump up and down. "Not only that, but Bone Mage said he can enhance the current members of the Koopa Troop!"
"E…enchance?" Wendy asked.
"Indeed." Bone Mage looked at Bowser and bowed. "I am at your service, Lord Bowser. Now, about my requisitions?"
"Oh! Yes, of course." Bowser cleared his throat. "Your tower's ready, and I got you those power ups you needed. How soon can you deliver my Super Koopa Troopa?"
Bone Mage had a wicked gleam in his eyes. "Immediately."
Bowser laughed. "Good! You can combine those power-ups with the Koopa Troop soldiers, just like you said you would!'
"Combine Power ups with Koopa Troop soldiers?…. " So many questions popped up in Ludwig's mind. He wanted to ask all of them, but for some reason, his tongue only allowed him to ask: Did…Didn't you try that and fail?"
"What? Fail?!" Bowser's face turned vermillion. "No I didn't! There's no way I failed!"
"No, I think you did," said Wendy. "You tried to use a Sprixie Kingdom power-up during that mission when you kidnapped the Sprixie Princesses."
"Oh yeah! He turned into a cat!" Lemmy chuckled. "That was the cutest form that Bowser ever took in a battle against Mario!"
"And yet, even with all that power and all that cuteness, Bowser still didn't hold a candle against the Mario brothers," Ludwig said with a smirk.
"Oh, be quiet, Ludwig!" Bowser turned toward Bone Mage. "Can you get to your tower alright?"
"Of course!" Bone Mage waved his wand, causing both him and all the other minions to teleport away. Once they were gone, Bowser cleared his throat and gave everyone else another grin.
"Well! Let's get this party started, shall we?"
