Chapter 0
Death isn't something that people want to experience but sadly a young man had experienced that firsthand via a runaway truck driver swerving onto the sidewalk and turning him into paste. This young man now finds himself floating in a black void of space while a mysterious blue tinted videogame screen appeared in front of his face.
[Greetings player. You have been randomly selected for reincarnation into another world with the power of a Gamer. The world you're going to has been chosen at random and you are now being taken to the character creation.
This game system was created by the MGG aka the Multiversal Gamers Guild and is in the format of classic table-top RPGs mixed in with various sources such as Pathfinder, DnD, Final Fantasy d20, elder scrolls and so on.]
"Oh, I always wanted to play games like dungeons and dragons, but I've never had anyone to play with, so this should be a fun experience." The young man said since he was familiar with the idea of reincarnation due to the overabundance of anime and fanfics on the internet before he saw a massively long list of classes available to him.
"Damn dude. This is a hell of a long list of classes and some of them are prestige or legendary classes that look extremely OP." The young man said before he focused on selecting a class, he felt comfortable with.

"My class allows me to use my charisma as my main spell focus, but I could use my Intelligence and Wisdom later on with some magical feats to boost my spell damage, power and resources." The newly identified Reily said to himself while looking at the three-dimensional image of himself next to his status screen.
Average height with fair skin and short but wavy brown hair with blue eyes and an average build that showed he didn't exercise much. He is dressed in a white tank top and black shorts which slightly reminded him of the character creation from Fallout 3 and New Vegas oddly enough.
[You are granted two additional free feats that you can view when you spawn in the world. Remain vigilant and prepared because the world you're going to is a dangerous one.
You are going to be spawned into the Mortal Kombat universe in a few seconds. Best of luck with the prologue.]
"What?" Reily asked in total shock at what he saw because the world of Mortal Kombat is quite literally a world of gore and bloodshed…The chicks were hot but that alone didn't make the preselected choice any less dangerous.
If he knew where he was going, he would have selected the warrior or monk or ninja classes.

"Ow, my head." Reily said with a groan as he woke up in what he recognized as his bedroom. The room was modest, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary until Reily stood up and saw the silverish white crystal embedded within the center of a gold looking medallion.
The gem radiated power when Reily inherited it, and that power had unlocked his dormant magical power or at least that is what happened originally before 'Reily' inherited this body.
"Great. Now I need to figure out a way to survive and get stronger in this world without ever having to turn undead or get erased from reality or something." Reily said to himself before he got up and cleaned himself up in his private bathroom before getting dressed in a simple long sleeved brown shirt with blue jeans and black sneakers with his keys, wallet, phone and enchanted medallion in his pockets.
Reily decided to go for a walk around the small American city he was living in as he thought about his next course of action. He is the last living member of his family with a small amount of money that he uses to live comfortably but eventually he would have to find work since it wasn't too much money. He could join a gym or apply for a martial arts class, but the issue was that Reily didn't know how much time he had before the tournament would begin. There was no question that he would get involved since Raiden himself would most likely recruit him.
Still, Reily at least wanted to be somewhat able to defend himself. It's why he chose his class to begin with since a Red Mage is both a magical class and a warrior class. Meaning that he is more than capable of fighting off danger.
"Wait…Why is it snowing?" Reily asked when the sun suddenly darkened due to the newly formed clouds that quickly started releasing a lot of snow and a cold wind before a quest appeared before Reily's eyes.

"Are you shitting me?" Reily asked in total shock before he barely ducked out of the way of a hardened ball of ice that nearly took his head off as it collided with a nearby telephone pole and took a massive chunk out of it as well as leaving a heavy amount of frost on the pole before it fell and hit the ground.
The person who sent the attack his way was none other than the cryomancer himself, Sub-Zero. Or at least the Bi-Han version. Although, Reily did admit that in real life, the 90's movie version of the ninja attire was awesome.
"Freeze where you stand." Bi-Han said before sending another ice blast that Reily moved away from before he started running for his life along with a few dozen more innocent civilians who were sadly collateral damage since Bi-Han unleased a large blast of ice magic that froze a few people solid before Reily ducked behind a corner and escaped the wind blast.
"Of all the people to target me. It had to be the worst version of Sub-Zero with daddy issues and small dick energy." Reily groaned before he cut through a few alleys to get some more distance while the snow and cold air around him didn't seem to alleviate at all.
In fact, the cold was starting to slow Reily down before he stopped running and turned around when he accidently ran into a dead end. Sub-Zero was behind him of course and didn't even bother to try and fight when Reily's back was turned. Instead, he arrogantly waited for Reily to look at him and Reily had no doubt that he was smiling behind his mask.
"Fool." Bi-Han said with a glare.
"If I'm going to die…I'll go down fighting." Reily said before he called upon his magic that felt like second nature to him and he fired an Elemental Bolt at the blue ninja. The bolt was no larger than a baseball and was a shimmering rainbow color oddly enough, but Bi-Han effortlessly backhanded the attack away before he prepared his own ice attack.
But luckily it seemed that Reily had killed enough time and got some help since the blue ninja was taken off guard a large bolt of lightning that struck him and sent him flying.
"Enough!" A loud booming voice ordered before a bolt of lighting struck the ground in front of Reily and standing in front of him after the lighting had ceased was none other than the lighting god Raiden clad in his white and blue robes with a rice farming hat on his head and electricity coursing through his body as it crackled in the air.
Bi-Han quickly got up and walked in back to his previous position as he stood across from Raiden and Reily.
"You dare interfere in Lin Kuei business? You have no true domain over our clan and who we hunt." Bi-Han replied with clear anger as ice formed over his clenched fists.
"That is where you are mistaken Bi-Han. All beings in Earthrealm are under the protection of the Gods and an assassin interfering in the upcoming Mortal Kombat tournament warrants my interference. You will claim no more lives this day, lest you test the patience of Earthrealm's protector." Raiden replied coldly before he extended his right hand and summoned his magical staff in preparation for a battle against the cryomancer.
Bi-Han seriously considered fighting against the god of lighting before thinking twice before sending a death glare at Reily.
"Be warned vermin. In the Mortal Kombat tournament your life will be forfeit. The Lin Kuei never fails a mission, and I intend to have your skull as a trophy." Bi-Han said before a thick cloud of ice and wind obscured him from view temporarily and when the fog cleared. Bi-Han was nowhere in sight and the snow falling from the skies had vanished completely as the temperature rose to its normal conditions.
"Forgive my lateness, Reily Ortaga. I wish that I could have spoken with you before Sub-Zero had attacked." Raiden said as the lighting around his body ceased and he turned around to speak with Reily who was thankfully unharmed.
Mostly due to Bi-Han savoring the hunt so to speak, but Reily wasn't looking a gift horse in the mouth.
"It's not a problem. But who are you?" Reily asked while feigning ignorance. The previous owner of this body didn't know about the Gods or anything, so there was no point in simply saying 'hi Raiden. Let's beat Outworld' or something.
"I am lord Raiden. God of lighting and thunder, and I must speak with you about a matter that can and will determine if life in Earthrealm can remain unchanged by the hands of a ruthless tyrant." Raiden said while Reily took a deep breath before speaking.
"Considering everything that's happened and the fact that I have magic after inheriting some kind of medallion, I'd be a fool to avoid you since you seem like my best chance of getting answers. So, do you want to talk in this dirty alley or should we head back to my place. I have some lemon tea if you're interested." Reily said with a mixture of honestly and joking nature that actually put a small smirk on Raiden's face.
"Forgive me, but the place we must speak isn't here. We must speak at the Wu Shi Academy along with the other chosen warriors of Earthrealm." Raiden said before he summoned a bolt of enchanted lighting that teleported himself and Reily away from the city and in front of the hidden martial arts temple known as the Wu Shi Academy aka the Order of light.
The gates in front of Reily were equal parts decorative and protective as they swung open and revealed several monks along with other fighters that Reily recognized from the MK games.
Sonya Blade who was dressed in dark green military fatigues. Johnny Cage clad in an expensive looking white suit, pants and brown dress shoes with several suitcases surrounding him. And, Kenshi Takahashi, dressed in a red trench coat with a flower like pattern on the shoulders with dark clothing underneath along with boots and a katana attached to his hip.
"That was fast. Being a God must save you a lot of money on Uber trips." Johnny joked with his usual smug smirk causing Sonya to roll her eyes in annoyance before Raiden spoke.
"Now that you have all been assembled, I will tell each of you about why you have been gathered and just how grave the situation is for all of Earthrealm." Raiden said before speaking about the upcoming MK tournament and how this is Earthrealm's last chance to win or else it will be destroyed and assimilated into Outworld and its ruler.
Shao Khan.
"Will, Jax be at this tournament?" Sonya asked sharply while the lightning God was unbothered.
"I have no doubt that is where Jax Briggs is being held. Shang Tsung wouldn't kill him outright without an audience." Raiden said grimly while Sonya looked pissed and clenched her fists.
"So, we stop an evil sorcerer and save the world. Sounds like the start of a cinematic universe to me." Johnny joked again while Sonya gave him a dark glare.
"Do you think this is some kind of game?" Sonya practically shouted at the actor.
"Sonya. I understand your anger but attacking each other will only worsen our chances of winning Mortal Kombat." Raiden said wisely while Sonya took a deep breath to regain her composure before looking back towards Raiden.
"Each of you will remain here and train with the Shaolin in order for you to be fully prepared for the dangers that await you. The fate of Earthrealm lies in your hands." Raiden said with his arms crossed while Reily saw another screen appear before his eyes.

Reily had no clue what to make of the familiar that he was given, but he also didn't ask any questions before focusing and dismissing the screen before he saw two familiar monks walking up towards them.
These monks are Liu Kang and Kung Lao, and they were also going to compete in the tournament along with the newly arrived participants and would help the group train and prepare for Kombat.

A/N: Okay I pinky promise that this is my last new story but DnD, Pathfinder and Final Fantasy d20 has been stuck in my head lately along with my love for mortal kombat and I couldn't help but make this.
