Hi guys, Wolf here!
And yes, I'm here with a new chapter of An Cursed Miracle, I'm sorry for the delay in posting a new chapter, but this one was delayed for two reasons: First was Hakari and Kirara's techniques, honestly they are difficult to describe, second was life that got very busy, I think I'll only be able to maybe return to posting this fic on a maybe weekly basis next month, but I can't guarantee anything, anything I always post on Sunday.
I hope you like the chapter, I wish you all a GOOD READ!
"Let's start again, shall we, Daisuke?" Kinji asked, smiling at Daisuke who was wiping his nose with the sleeve of his shirt, wiping the blood from his face, while next to him Veemon was staring at Wizardmon and Hoshi. "Why did you decide to lie to everyone on national television?"
Daisuke frowned at the question and gave Veemon a quick glance.
"Daisuke, aren't you going to answer me?" Kinji asked in confusion before shaking his head. "Okay then, looks like I'll have to ask those lovely ladies with you..."
The moment those words left Kinji's mouth, his eyes widened as he spat out blood. Daisuke stood in front of him, his fist shoved into the older man's stomach, an empty expression on his face as he looked at Kinji who began to smile before making a gesture with his hands.
His right hand was palm down with his index finger and thumb together while his left hand was palm up.
"Domain expansion: Idle Death Gamble." Declares Kinji, causing Veemon to roll his eyes at the two before him
"Flashing breeze!" A voice exclaims before a gust of wind hits Veemon, throwing him into the wall, before he falls to the ground and looks up at Wizardmon with his staff pointed at him. "Your fight is with me."
"Yes, I'll remember that." Rosna Veemon as his fists explode in cursed energy, however, he soon feels someone slap the top of his head making him turn around to see Hoshi behind him waving.
After that, a rubbish bin was thrown at Veemon, as well as some potted plants.
"Oh shit!" Exclaims Veemon before starting to punch the objects that were approaching him quickly before a bolt of lightning struck him causing the digimon to cry out in pain, at the same time as a concrete slab hit him, knocking him away from the door.
"Just for the record, Wiz and I are partners, if you face him, you'll face me too." Hoshi assured, smiling as Wizardmon approached her. "Wiz, do your magic!"
"Fireball." Wizardmon chanted, causing a sphere of cursed energy to form in front of him before catching fire and being sent at Veemon, who widened his eyes and raised his arms to protect himself from the attack.
Suddenly, Daisuke was thrown into the railing, grunting with a scratch on his cheek that began to heal as Kinji smiled excitedly in front of him, a lively tune echoing around him as he approached the boy.
As soon as he got close, Kinji grabbed Daisuke and punched him in the face, causing the boy to spit out a large amount of blood, but he didn't fall over. Daisuke suddenly moved and landed another blow on Kinji, causing the man to step back a few paces.
Seeing this, Daisuke approached Kinji with a kick to the side of the head and then began throwing several punches at his opponent's torso, who only smiled with each blow. Suddenly Kinji brought his arms up and slammed his palms into the sides of Daisuke's head before driving a knee between the boy's legs.
"Now we're really talking!" Kinji exclaimed before punching Daisuke, knocking him to the ground next to Veemon.
"Daisuke, what are we going to do?" Veemon asks worriedly, looking at Wizardmon and Hoshi.
Daisuke grunted as he stood up, glaring at Kinji before looking down the corridor with a frown before looking to the left where the building's balcony was, which led down to the first floor. He then turned his attention to his opponent.
"Let's increase the space. Akari, big curtain!"
(Inside the Motomiyas' apartment.)
"Thanks, we'll be waiting for you." Akari declares, turning off her cell phone with a scowl before looking at Jun and Ayano, who were hiding under the counter, hugging each other in fright, their eyes wide at the sounds of fighting coming from outside.
"Akari, who is this Kinji Hakari? Why is he here and what does he want with my son?" A frightened Ayano asks, making Akari swallow.
"He's a former student of the Tokyo Jujutsu school, he was suspended and created a sorcerer fighting club, which is illegal and earned him immediate expulsion from the Jujutsu community. But... he's a special grade, like your son, the two of them fought Sukuna and his servant Uraume in battle. I honestly don't know why he's here, but I have faith that Daisuke can fix this and if he can't... Yuta would surely defeat Hakari." Akari declares
"...Akari, big curtain!"
Hearing her name called by Daisuke, she immediately opened her eyes wide, if he wanted something like this, here... he wanted to fight seriously, only not only that, he could potentially cross the line into serious.
"Shit." Murmurs Akari sweating before running up to the balcony and raising one of her hands in a simple hand seal before taking a deep breath.
"Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify what is impure." Akari intones seriously.
(Back to the battle.)
Kinji whistled as he saw the barrier appearing around the building they were in and then looked at Daisuke who seemed annoyed with him.
"Wow, Daisuke, you're really excited, aren't you? That's the fever I wanted to see in you before, now, come on, show me what you've got!" Kinji exclaimed, spreading his arms wide before receiving a kick in the stomach that made his eyes widen.
He had forgotten that despite Daisuke's physiognomy, he was very strong and always held his punches, but now he seemed to have tired of holding back his strength. Daisuke then bent down and grabbed Kinji's waist, while Kinji took a few steps back in surprise.
However, Kinji was soon kicking and kneeing Daisuke in the chest and punching him in the back.
"Huh?" Suddenly, Kinji realized that Daisuke had grabbed his leg and lifted him up, throwing him over the balcony into the corridor. "Son of a bitch."
However, Kinji was soon surprised by Daisuke who jumped on him, grabbing him and punching him in the face. Despite the pain he felt, Kinji smiled excitedly, finally Daisuke was showing him how passionate and excited he was.
Soon Kinji was able to kick him away as the two continued to fall. Seeing how they were getting closer to the ground, Kinji moved, concentrating most of the cursed energy around his body to soften his fall, something Daisuke also seemed to do.
The two soon landed on the ground, creating several cracks around them as they stared at each other.
"Not bad, then, how about you answer me? Why did you lie on national television?" Kinji asked, smiling, which made Daisuke narrow his eyes.
"Better people know about digimons than curses, a half-truth was the best plan we came up with so as not to panic about more curses being created..." Daisuke declares, making Kinji laugh.
"Well, it looks like you've learned how to answer... Now, how about telling me who those kids were that showed up? New classmates?" Hearing this question, Daisuke's eyes went wide before he returned to normal.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"...Holy shit..." Rosna Kinji almost laughed at the same time as she glared at Daisuke. "You're still lying like shit!"
With that Kinji ran up to Daisuke who stood in a combat stance, blocking the blow. The two stared at each other for a few seconds before starting to attack each other again with renewed vigor.
Hoshi ran towards the door of the Motomiyas' apartment, but she was soon forced to jump out of the way of Veemon, who appeared in front of her with a fist covered in flaming blue energy. Luckily for her, Wizardmon ended up summoning her back to his side, the two of them once again at the start of the corridor as she faced Veemon.
"This guy's not going to give up that easily, maybe you should cool him down." Hoshi commented, smiling nervously at Wizardmon who narrowed his eyes at Veemon.
"Believe me, I wanted to do that, but he's different... his cursed energy is raw and potent. I think his case is different from mine, Hoshi." Wizardmon declares, readying his staff. "But I'll try to find an opening for you."
"I'm counting on you, Wiz!" Hoshi exclaims, smiling at Wizardmon.
"Ice rain!" Wizardmon proclaimed, before a blast of ice shards flew towards Veemon, who frowned at them.
"He can shape his cursed energy to make different moves." Veemon thought with a frown, seeing the attack approaching and how Hoshi seemed to be moving away, which made him narrow his four eyes. "I have to stay on the defensive now, it's a battle of endurance here, if they get past me..."
Cursed Veemon swallowed, but then narrowed his eyes before closing them, bringing his hands together in front of his body.
"Kai." Whispers Veemon before moving his hands, causing all the shards to break.
Seeing this, Wizardmon and Hoshi jumped to the side as large cuts and cracks appeared where they had previously been. Veemon took a deep breath before opening his eyes with a cold, serious look as he faced his opponents.
"...I will not allow you to pass me."
(Scene break.)
Taichi couldn't help but think that he was in some kind of trouble, normally when he and Hikari returned home it wasn't always in uncomfortable silence. Of course, there were reasons for this too, with everything that had happened, the return of the digimon, secret organizations and Daisuke showing up, it was hard to think of any form of light conversation during the journey home.
However, he couldn't think of a single reason why Sora should be coming home with them.
He glanced at Sora discreetly as she walked alongside Hikari. For some reason, Sora had decided to come home with them, something that Hikari seemed to agree with, so Taichi ended up agreeing, after all it wasn't strange for her to stay at their house in the past, but it had been a long time since that had happened.
Not since they grew up and Sora started dating Yamato.
Sometimes Taichi wondered if he was doing the right thing when he decided to give up on trying something with Sora so that Yamato would move on, often he wondered if it was worth it, but whenever he saw how happy Sora looked, Taichi could understand that he had done the right thing. She was happy and that was what mattered.
But it wasn't just about Sora, was it? Taichi knew that the whole group had been drifting apart over the years, ever since the portal between the worlds had closed they had been drifting apart, each living their own lives and growing up, after all, that's what life was all about, wasn't it? Growing up. This also meant dealing with the consequences of their actions... like what Daisuke was doing.
It was unbelievable how Daisuke appeared on national television and basically became one of Japan's main defenses against digimon. It left a bitter taste in Taichi's mouth, the thought of it frightening the former leader of the digi-chosen, but the price Daisuke was paying was even worse in his mind.
The dripping blood, the wounds, Daisuke's mental instability, all of this made Taichi wonder whether his decision not to get involved was the best alternative or not.
"Hey Taichi, any news on when your new match date will be?" Sora suddenly asked, surprising Taichi and making him look at Sora, who seemed to be staring at him, not bothered by the fact that he was lost in thought.
Taichi stared at her for a few seconds before shrugging.
"I don't know, I haven't had much time to really ask anyone about it before." Taichi declared, causing Sora to nod.
"I see, when you know tell me, okay? It's been a while since we hung out like we used to." Sora comments amiably, receiving a distracted nod from Taichi.
"I'm sure he'd love that, but I think maybe we should concentrate on the digimon problem." Hikari interrupted their conversation, causing Sora and Taichi to stare at her, noticing how nervous and even rushed she looked to get home.
This was another problem that Taichi had to take care of, apparently.
Ever since Daisuke returned, Hikari seemed to be obsessed with it, although she hid it well, Tailmon was still her partner and often spoke to Taichi when she was very worried about Hikari and unfortunately this was one of the cases. Tailmon reported that Hikari had spent much of the night researching Daisuke and had even sent messages to former classmates to try to find out where he had been all this time.
It wasn't surprising to Taichi that Hikari would be worried about him, it was something he expected considering how close they were and how they had split up, even Taichi felt a bitter taste when he thought about it. But he imagined that it might be worse for her, after all Daisuke and Hikari were very close before they entered the digital world and seeing him like this, so broken was difficult.
"Don't worry, Hikari, we'll fix it." Sora assured him, but this didn't seem to cheer Hikari up, who continued to frown, but nodded in response.
Seeing this, Taichi couldn't help but sigh at how it was affecting his little sister.
"...She's not taking it well, is she?" Sora asked softly to Taichi, as soon as Hikari had moved a little away from them, which made Taichi nod.
"Yes, Daisuke has always been a sensitive topic with her since he moved away. I think what he's doing and the way he is now are weighing heavily on her mind." Taichi explains, looking at Hikari's back worriedly.
"And on yours too." Sora declared, causing Taichi to fall silent, but that was all the answer she needed.
"I don't know what happened between you before the airport, but I can see that it's affecting you, Taichi... I'm worried about you." Sora admits, looking at her friend who doesn't answer her.
"He showed me the reality and seriousness of the situation, but..." At this point Taichi interrupted himself, remembering how Veemon had absorbed the data from the three Kuwagomon. "I don't think he's right in the way he's acting."
"Yes." Sora nods before realizing something and looking at Taichi curiously. "Speaking of which, have you tried going to his house to see if he still lives there and if you could talk to him?"
With that question, Sora made both Taichi and Hikari stop in their tracks before looking at her with wide eyes, shocked by her suggestion. Noticing their expressions, Sora couldn't help but sigh tiredly as she rubbed her face.
"You didn't even think of that, did you?"
The silence that followed was all the answer she needed.
(Some time later at the Motomiyas' house.)
Sora, Taichi and Hikari couldn't help but stop when they noticed the large dark dome that seemed to cover the apartment building where the Motomiyas lived, a dome that reminded them a lot of the one they had seen conjured up at the airport.
"What's that?" Taichi asked, surprised and worried.
"I don't know, but it can't be good." Sora comments, before the three of them hear something behind them, causing them to turn around.
"Taichi!"
"Sora!"
"Hikari!"
Agumon, Biyomon and Tailmon came running up to the three of them before stopping next to their respective partners before looking at the barrier.
"Hikari... that barrier makes me nervous." Tailmon warned with an annoyed hiss, making Hikari glare at her.
"What's going on here anyway?" Biyomon asks, looking at Sora.
"We don't know, we came here after Daisuke and Veemon, but we only found this covering the building. But the last time we saw it was when they were fighting a digimon and... Hikari, wait a minute!" Calls Sora as he notices Hikari running towards the barrier after hearing the possibility of a fight, which makes Taichi grunt before running after her.
"Hikari! Agumon, with me!" With that, Agumon and Tailmon run after Taichi.
Sora stands still for a few seconds, watching as the two brothers and their digimon partners enter the barrier, the redhead exchanges a glance with Biyomon and then faces the barrier.
"Biyomon, come on." Sora says, starting to run.
"Yes!" With that, Biyomon follows behind Sora.
Once the two had entered the barrier, they stopped next to the Yagami brothers as they stared in horror at the scene in front of them.
The floor and walls were covered in blood and cracks as Daisuke and a man unknown to them seemed to be beating up their old friend who was trying his best to defend himself and counterattack. However, what amazed them most was the amount of blood and wounds that covered Daisuke, as well as the fact that he didn't seem to be healing as he fought.
The man soon punched Daisuke in the jaw, knocking the smaller boy off the ground, before being grabbed by his opponent who punched him again in the side of the head, throwing the boy a few meters away from the three digi-chosen.
Daisuke grunted in pain, before getting up, seemingly ignoring his injuries until his eyes met those of the digi-choosers who seemed frozen, staring at him, something the other man also realized when he noticed them.
"Ah, look at that, what a coincidence, the subject of our conversation came up to us, lucky me." Joked the man, laughing briefly, without noticing how Daisuke seemed to tense up at his words, or how the other chosen children stared at him. "Well... let's go again then, nice to meet you, I'm Kinji Hakari and..."
"Tailmon!" Hikari exclaims, making Tailmon nod, before running towards Kinji before jumping up raising his fist.
"Neko punch!" Tailmon announced before punching Kinji in the face, who took a step back in surprise, but soon his fist was covered in a green aura and he punched Tailmon, throwing the digimon to Daisuke's side.
"No, Tailmon!" Worried, Hikari ran to her partner and Daisuke's side.
"Shit, Biyomon, let's go!" Sora declares, raising his digivice, but Taichi stops him.
"No Sora, we can't fight here, we could hurt people!" Taichi warned, but Kinji heard him, making the sorcerer smile.
"Wow, lucky me then!" Kinji declared before advancing towards them, holding out his hand to Sora who closed her eyes realizing that she wouldn't be able to dodge it.
Biyomon screamed in fright as she advanced to intercept Kinji in the middle of the path, but to their surprise, Taichi managed to grab the girl and pull her away from the impact. However, Kinji passed them too quickly causing them to fall and soon Agumon and Biyomon were in front of them staring at their opponent.
"Ouch... Taichi, you saved me..." Sora murmured in surprise as she realized she was being hugged by Taichi, who winced in pain, which made Sora worry.
"We have to get out of here, we won't be able to fight Daisuke in this condition and..." Taichi begins, but his eyes widen as he realizes something.
"Huh?" Kinji's eyes widened as a fist struck his face, while black lightning seemed to flow around the blow.
"Kokusen." Daisuke declared in an emotionless tone before a thunderous boom echoed, throwing Kinji through the air.
This time, smoke seemed to billow from Daisuke who straightened up with his arms seeming to change shape into a more monstrous appearance, the look on his face seemingly fixed on Kinji as the man stood up with smoke pouring from his face.
"Boy, that's what I call a punch, isn't it Daisuke?" Kinji comments with a smile, but he soon notices Daisuke's gaze, but especially the digivice in his hands.
Daisuke slowly brings the digivice close to his face and presses a button.
"Armor evolution." Commands Daisuke with a neutral look at Kinji, which made him feel a chill in his stomach.
(With Veemon.)
Veemon shouted before dodging another of Wizardmon's ice spears and other objects that Hoshi was throwing at him as they tried to break into the apartment. Despite his enhanced strength he was still only one and not as experienced in using his cursed energy as Daisuke and his new opponents, he needed an advantage and fast.
"Good work Wiz, keep going, we're tiring him out!" Exclaimed Hoshi, smiling at Wizardmon who nodded before pointing his staff at Veemon.
"Shit..." Veemon thought, worried and exhausted.
He looked like he was about to fall over when suddenly his eyes went wide, and it was as if a red glow appeared in his eyes, catching the attention of Wizardmon who slowly opened his eyes.
"Ice Barrier." Exclaimed Wizardmon as he stood in front of Hoshi and summoned a wall of ice in front of them.
At that moment, Veemon was covered in uncontrolled flames that burned the nearby plants and melted the surrounding concrete, the ice wall itself summoned by Wizardmon seemed to be having the same problem, melting as the heat from the flames increased.
"Wiz, what's going on?" Hoshi asked worriedly as she sweated, the heat seemed too much for her while Wizardmon's eyes widened.
"He's evolving..."
"Cursed Veemon armor digivolves to..." Exclaimed Veemon as his figure in the flames seemed to grow larger before the fire disappeared to reveal a new creature.
The creature looked like a tall, muscular humanoid dragon, with blue skin with orange markings around its body, in the same style as Sukuna's, with a white belly and jaw, a kind of red armor with orange flames that consisted of a breastplate with shoulder pads, gauntlets, pants, boots and a helmet. The armor seemed to have several red spikes on the shoulders and joints, and the very appearance of the armor served to demonstrate the dragon's muscles.
The gauntlets completely covered the forearm with three blades covering the top of the armor revealing hands with only three fingers and sharp claws; the boots also had a more draconic appearance revealing three blades instead of claws. The creature also had a blue tail with the tip covered in armor that shot out a small flame from it.
Meanwhile the helmet covered the entire top of its head with a furious expression on its face revealing four eyes that glowed maliciously with a large horn that appeared to be a sawn bone, the digimon's mouth was open revealing a large row of sharp teeth with a few horns sticking out of its jaw.
"Cursed Flamedramon!" Announces the new version of Flamedramon with a roar, revealing its thick, bestial voice before looking at the wall of ice.
Suddenly Flamedramon's entire left gauntlet was covered in fire before he raised his fist.
"Kamino Rockets." Announces Flamedramon before punching the air in front of him.
On the other side of the ice wall, Wizardmon's eyes widened before he grabbed Hoshi and pulled her to the ground as a fireball passed through the ice wall leaving a hole in it, which made both of them eyes widen.
"...Okay, a strategic retreat seems like a good idea now..." Hoshi commented with wide eyes as Wizardmon nodded.
"Right, let's go!" Exclaimed Wizardmon when suddenly, Flamedramon passed through the ice wall walking along it as the ice melted behind him.
The digimon growled at his opponents as a flaming aura surrounded him.
"Jump!" Hoshi exclaimed before leaping off the building, grabbing his partner who began to spin his staff and point it at the ground.
"Flashing breeze!" With that, a gust of wind comes out of Wizardmon's staff, slowing down the fall of the two who land safely on the ground.
After that, they both raise their heads to try and find Flamedramon, but they are surprised by a loud bang behind Wizardmon, making them both turn around to see Flamedramon standing there, growling while having a crater underneath him.
"Ice..." Wizardmon begins, but Flamedramon grabs his head, making Hoshi finally realize how big the digimon was, almost twice Kinji's size.
The dragon didn't seem to mind and threw Wizardmon at Hoshi, hurling them both into a wall that shattered on impact, with both of them falling to the ground knocked out, causing Wizardmon to revert to Impmon form.
Flamedramon growled and looked in Daisuke's direction.
"Kokusen." Daisuke declared, punching Kinji again, who looked more injured than before and even a little tired as he received Daisuke's blows.
"Kokusen." Again, Kinji seemed to fall unconscious for a few seconds before regaining consciousness when he received a knee to the stomach, causing the sorcerer to fall to his knees in surprise, but he quickly tried to counterattack.
"Kokusen." Daisuke announced, punching Kinji again, throwing the sorcerer backwards.
Kinji fell to the ground with a blood-spitting thud before starting to get up again, but is stopped by Daisuke who steps on his chest with a cold look in his eyes.
"I don't care if you attack me, or beat me up, I'm just a cog in the Jujutsu and that's part of my role as a sorcerer, but..." Daisuke began in a calm tone, applying more pressure to his foot, causing Kinji to grunt as he felt the ground crack beneath him. "Don't think I'm going to let you target my family and those who have nothing to do with our world."
After that, Daisuke began to put his hands together, raising his middle and ring fingers and placing them against each other, his other fingers lowered.
"You're immortal now... so I'll leave you a warning, I won't do anything extensive as they're close and I haven't learned how to control it properly yet." Daisuke commented before looking at Taichi, Sora and Hikari. "Stay there, no matter what."
Having said that, Daisuke turns to Kinji and faces him.
"Domain expansion." Daisuke announces, making Kinji's eyes widen as he notices Daisuke's cursed energy become visible, as if it were a malevolent presence, something monstrous with four eyes staring at him.
Sukuna.
"Malevolent shrine."
Taichi, Sora, Hikari and their digimon felt a momentary unease as everything went dark before returning to normal and the result made them widen their eyes. Kinji was cut everywhere with the ground beneath him stained with blood, he was wide-eyed in disbelief as smoke seemed to pour out of his healing body.
Daisuke simply removed his foot from Kinji before sighing and turning to face his friends before snorting with a slight smile. "I should have known you'd be there, Flamedramon."
Upon hearing this, the digi-chosen turned to face Flamedramon, but their eyes soon widened at the sight of his new form, Tailmon seemed to be the most affected by looking at the more ferocious-looking digimon.
"Fla...Flamedramon? Is that you?" Tailmon asked in surprise, getting up from the ground before approaching the digimon that was standing behind them, noticing how tall it was now.
Flamedramon knelt on the ground staring at Tailmon.
"Yes... It's good to see you again, Tailmon." He greeted Flamedramon, making Sora shudder at the tone of his voice.
"You're taller..." Agumon comments, making Flamedramon smile before his body turns into flames that disperse, revealing Cursed Veemon to them. "...You're even taller."
"What are you doing here?" Daisuke asks as his hands return to normal causing the digi-chosen to stare at him.
"Now, wait a minute, what's going on here? Who is this guy? Why was he..." Taichi asked, getting up angrily before grunting in pain and falling to his knees, causing the others to worry and approach him.
"Taichi, what happened?" Asks Sora worriedly when she notices a cut on his back, it didn't look that deep, but it looked pretty bad and was bleeding.
"Shit!" Daisuke exclaimed, running up to Taichi before putting his hand on his shoulder. "Jeez, have we always been this stubborn? I told you to stay away from this."
Just then, a whitish aura came out of Daisuke's hand and began to cover Taichi, causing a thin line of smoke to rise from his back as the wound healed. This continued for a few seconds until Daisuke removed his hand from Taichi's back and casually wiped his nose, ignoring the little bit of blood that had leaked out.
Sora, on the other hand, moved Taichi to look at his back, but was surprised to see that it was clean, without the cut, it was as if he had never been injured.
"It's healed..." Taichi murmured in surprise before Sora suddenly hugged him, causing him to open his eyes wide, but then hug her back.
Daisuke looked at them for a while before noticing Hikari staring at him with a frown on her face.
"What's wrong?" Daisuke asked with a raised eyebrow.
"We need to talk, Daisuke." Hikari declares.
(Scene breaks.)
"I'd really like to meet the three of you again in a more pleasant situation than this..." Ayano said, placing a few cups of tea in front of Taichi, Sora and Hikari, who thanked him for the drink.
After the battle everyone was now gathered in the Motomiyas' living room, with the addition of Maki who arrived soon after with Yuta, who decided to keep an eye on Kinji, Hoshi and Impmon in another room.
The room seemed colder than usual even with the heater on, and all the people inside; Jun and Akari were sitting on two chairs near the balcony, Taichi, Sora and Hikari were on the sofa with Daisuke sitting in an armchair next to them, Maki was standing against the wall looking at everyone with the digimons sitting at the table eating.
Ayano nodded before sitting down in a free armchair, noticing how Hikari seemed to glance quickly at Daisuke.
"Thank you for that, Mrs. Motomiya." Hikari thanked, causing Ayano to nod.
"Hikari, you, your brother and Sora have been coming here almost all your life, you can call me Aunt Ayano." The woman assured them, making them smile and thank her.
"...You should have listened to my advice and stayed out of this." Daisuke declared, frowning at them.
"How could we be like that after what we saw? Daisuke, we are also chosen children, it is also our responsibility to protect the human world and the digimon." Sora declared, looking at Daisuke who frowned at her.
"But it's not just the digimon that's at stake, not even just the human world!" Retorted the jujutsu sorcerer. "If you had listened to me, you might have known what the real problem was."
With that, Daisuke got up angrily and walked around the room until he stopped in front of the balcony looking out over the city, frowning before sighing and turning to everyone.
"If it was something involving just the digimon, I'd let you deal with it without any problems, if it was the human world as well I wouldn't bother with an alliance, but it's not like that." Daisuke declared, looking at the three on the sofa, while the digimons stopped eating and started listening to the conversation. "The digimon that are coming are uncontrolled, corrupted by some evil energy, causing serious damage to our world and so we are brought into this fight. The barrier we use restores the damage after we remove it, but by using it, we retain the digimon's data in the barrier that joins the cursed energy, turning them into cursed digimons."
"What Daisuke means is that your problem became ours when the digimons caused a problem in the balance of Jujutsu society, it's our jurisdiction now." Maki declared from her place on the wall, while Daisuke nodded as Veemon approached theirs.
"Besides, it's also true to say that we're having more and more digimons and the energy that has corrupted them interacting with the cursed energy, which makes the problem even worse and you're not equipped to deal with it." Veemon declares, causing Taichi to grumble angrily.
"Jeez, what the hell is cursed energy?" Taichi asks, causing Maki and Daisuke to exchange a look.
"Taichi, it's better that you don't know, for your own safety." Daisuke declares, making Taichi and Sora freeze. "Look what happened today, you were almost killed today, Sora and you Taichi received an injury that without proper treatment could have killed you, that's the kind of threat we're dealing with, you don't want to know anymore."
Upon hearing this, both Taichi and Sora were silent as they considered Daisuke's words.
"No."
After a few seconds without anyone saying anything, Hikari suddenly denied his words before getting up from the sofa and looking directly at Daisuke.
"Daisuke, we're not going to sit back and let you handle this alone with Veemon, or whoever. We're chosen children too, we've been fighting digimons since we were kids! We're not fragile, I understand that you want to protect us, thank you for that, but this is also our responsibility." Hikari declares, walking up to Daisuke, who looks at her seriously.
"I'm going to regret this..." Daisuke comments with a sigh before turning to face Hikari. "Tomorrow at 09:00, we'll pick you up, wear black clothes."
"Wait a minute, you're not thinking of..." Akari starts in surprise, but Daisuke just looks at her with a frown.
"Akari, trust me."
"What?" asks Hikari in confusion. "Why only me?"
"Because they don't seem to want to get into it anymore." Daisuke replies, pointing at Taichi and Sora before focusing on Hikari. "Then I'll show you what exactly I'm trying to avoid and if you're really as smart as I remember, you'll stay out of it."
"...Fine, I'll go with you, but you can get ready to explain everything to me, I'm not giving up that easily." Hikari assures him.
And that's all, folks!
So did you like the fight? From the form of Cursed Flamedramon, to make his new design I was inspired by Geogreymon, Wargreymon X, Shinegreymon and of course Sukuna himself. As you may have noticed, Veemon's adult forms are stronger, which is really the reason why Veemon hasn't been evolving as much in this fic, his power has increased as a whole not only in his newbie form, but also in all his other forms thanks to the cursed energy inside him.
Don't forget to comment, favorite and follow, so I know you're enjoying it and I feel more encouraged to continue with the fic.
Thanks for your attention, see you next time!
