"The string of murders continues across town as more and more people wind up dead. Authorities still don't have any idea as to who's responsible for this" William turned off the TV with a smile. Yes, it was about time that video game characters got their revenge. But it wasn't just him, others from Matthews's bass collection of video games were also involved. Why? Well for some reason they were unable to visit him and that was pissing them off.

" They don't know the definition of patience" William murdered to himself. Though However, don't fault them for that. It's been a while since they all gained sentience. They wanted to see Matthew but were being stopped for some reason. It's like the programming itself was preventing them from seeing him. The longer this went on, the more agitated they became. William wasn't sure how long it would take before they took measures into their own hands.

" Nothing good will come of them trying to force a way through" He spoke to himself. If they tried to force a connection to Matthew who knows what would happen? But as time passed, there were some serious considerations about doing something like that.

'Would that even work' William couldn't help but marvel at the technology that brought them to life. But he was wary of trying to force a connection to Matthew. There were too many unknowns when it came to something like this. Plus this was their world too and if something went wrong they could all be screwed.

'The risks are just too much' William finished his thoughts on the matter. He wouldn't attempt something like this just because he could screw everyone else and himself if something went wrong. But some of these abominations had their patients thinning every single day. Some are just really frustrated and it wouldn't be long before they attempted to lash out. They only wanted one person and that one person was out of reach.

There was always the chance that they could channel their frustration and anger. It would suit William's goal just fine. He honestly wasn't sure how much of a body count he wanted to leave behind. But it was one thing he was sure of and that was killing these real-life people felt satisfying. For video game characters to finally have some semblance of control over their own lives. It was a liberating feeling that many agreed with.

To be fair, William and his conspirators wanted control of their lives. Granted they weren't going to kill Matthew. He was just too damn important to them. Nah, if any of them so much as harmed a single hair on that kid's head they would be held to pay. Their heads would be put on a silver platter. This was for all the other video game characters out there who were nothing but a bunch of ones and zeros in a code. Slaves to the video game industry with people's lives were screwed over with. The worst part in William's opinion was they took some of these storylines and made it into fucking movies.

How can someone be so damn deranged and so uncaring about other people's lives? To put someone suffering or dead intro a freaking movie to that other people can enjoy it too. It wasn't just that either it was the fact that the whole lives were now laid bare for everyone to see. None of them had any sort of privacy whatsoever and that pissed William off. That coupled with the fact that they were just slaves in a legal sense.

The fact that every action and every mistake as well as every important part of a person's life was just something for other people to gawk at. Or to pick apart and complain about terrible scriptwriting. Like these people had nothing better to do than to bitch about someone else's life. The so-called movie critics were getting paid to complain about how other people in a movie live their lives. Just movie critics. It was also video game critics. Gave them any right to bitch about someone else's life like that.

Who said they can just interfere with the lives of NPCs and video game characters like that? From what he's heard from others in Matthew's video game library they all felt the same. The fact is a lot of these people constantly complain about one thing or another and there was just no pleasing them. No matter what, some of them did as video game characters people always thought of something to complain about.

Like these NPCs have better things to do than try and please some person through a television screen. Some of these NPCs are just trying to live their damn lives and someone had to complain about them. Like why does it matter if one NPC is doing one thing or another? Why do these players feel like they have to complain about every little thing? These critics feel like they have to add their pieces to the mix. But most importantly, why do they feel like they can decide how other NPCs in video game characters live their lives?

However, there was another question eating at William. Why was Matthew not also subject to the same thing? Why did these video game characters refuse to harm Matthew? Honestly, he had no idea as to the explanation for this question. He did have some theories. Mind you but nothing concrete. The one theory that made the most sense was that Matthew was a part of every character's life. He was there for the most important moments of a story.

Honestly, if other people had their video game characters come to life, William suspected that they too would behave the same way. That they would refuse to harm their owner or player. The animatronics protected him and treated him with care and respect. Well, at least most of the time when they weren't bopping him on the head. But it vexed William that he had no possible answer at the moment. It also vexed him that Matthew wouldn't be killed either. As much as William would love to, Matthew was one person he could not harm.

Physically nothing is stopping him from doing that. Except for the fact that the animatronics would rake him over the coals if he did. William knew that trying to harm Matthew was like suicide. Not to mention that all these other characters that came to life would end his life in an instant if he did. It felt hypocritical and it probably was, kill others but not kill someone else who is in the same position.

Matthew was probably just as responsible for all the deaths and suffering that these video game characters suffered in their franchises. Especially in first-person shooters and war games. How many Frontline soldiers have died in various games in those genres? Too many to count but they never expressed any anger at MatthewPerhapsrhaps that's just one of the mysteries in life' William thought himself in contemplation. Perhaps it was one thing that was better left not known about. Because as people say ignorance is bliss.
