"Mmmmmm, thanks for the pizza daddy. Are Grandpa and mommy okay but you didn't have to do hero stuff tonight." Shadow heard Mei asking.

It was early evening and while Gerald and Maria were out, it was just Mei and Shadow so Shadow had ordered pizza for them as he loved pizza plus Mei needed cheering up after her lousy first day of school knowing Maria would get it when she and Gerald returned from whatever they were doing plus Shadow couldn't go to Gotham while Maria and Gerald weren't here and he couldn't takecMei with him as Maria and Sonic would be mad at him.

"Mommy says you really like my feelings pillow, as she said you were hugging it, after I went to take my nap." Mei told him.

"Yeah but impressed you drew me as my hero self." Shadow told her drinking soda belching making Mei giggle.

"Shadow Robotnik, we are trying to teach Mei manners, and you do that." Maria said making him surprised and Gerald laugh.

After that, Mei was having her bath, but was thinking about preschool wondering if she had to go back tomorrow, hearing she didn't meaning she got to have fun with her parents and grandfather seeing her dad come into her room, so was telling her a story about a super-cub which she loved as he kissed her, turning on her nightlight before leaving her room joining Maria in their room hearing Maria ask him, if Mei was sleeping seeing him nod.

"Yes she's asleep, after I told her a story, plus I put on her nightlight." Shadow told her relieving her as he was getting into bed beside her.

"That's good, plus Mei's not going to preschool so we get to spend more time with her." Maria told him making him smirk as he loved spending time with Mei falling asleep making Maria smirk knowing he was excited about this falling asleep only the next morning, she heard giggling getting up stunned seeing Mei doing loop de loops using her wings amusing Gerald but surprising Shadow entering guessing Gerald had given her sugar as itvwas like Sonic after drinking soda making him take deep-breaths.

"You gave her coffee beans, what the heck were you thinking, Gerald." Shadow yelled.

"Well you eat them and, I guess I should be quiet now." Gerald said making Shadow nod activating his wings especially after Mei flew outside making him and Maria concerned knowing Green Hills was in for a surprise going after her hearing hyperactive laughter and chaos energy blasts astounding him, that her powers were emerging besides her wings only they could talk about it later, once Mei was home and calm seeing Sonic there relieving hin that it wasn't Shadow. "Gerald gave Mei coffee beans and she's hyper. Help me but don't hurt her. She doesn't know what she's doing with her powers." Shadow said putting on his hero gear

"I get it, as Mei's just a cub, well your cub. She'll be okay." Sonic told him.

Mei's eyes lit up seeing her dad in his hero gear calming down just as the police showed up making her hide behind him as Tom and Wade got out of the squad car making Sonic surprised that Mei was giving herself up to save her dad which Shadow was impressed by as they were going home relieving Maria that Mei was calm ready for an nap saying Gerald was busy in his garage lab.

"Mei's powers emerged, which are as strong as mine, and the town might've seen what she could do. It makes me proud, but worried in case you know who found out and want her, or to experiment on her." Shadow told her while having coffee. Maria knew GUN getting their hands on Mei was Shadow's worst fear hugging hin reassuring him that wouldn't happen seeing him hugging a certain pillow which they'd put on Shadow's spit on the couch but he was checking on Mei seeing she was sleeping deeply, after the coffee and her powers emerging had wiped her out leaving her be.

"Daddy, I think my other powers emerged earlier, I was shooting blasts out of my hands like you and it was so cool." Shadow heard Mei say.

"Yes they did, and were happy about that only we have to teach you, to use them properly so you don't hurt anybody." Shadow replied .

It was afternoon and Mei had just woke up from her nap, so she was having a snack of milk and cookies which were better for her than the coffee beans Gerald had given her, knowibg her tummy still hurt because of the coffee beans as she'd thrown up after waking up which had bothered Shadow so would tell Gerald no coffee beans for Mei.
