"When are we going to Aubt Maddie and Ubcle Tom's house for Thanksgiving." Maria heard Mei ask.
It was late November and Thanksgiving and their first Thanksgiving on Earth and in Green Hills which made Gerald, Maria and Mei excited but Shadow was less enthused as he was already grateful for things like having Maria back, being a father to an awesome cub and that he didn't have to deal with GUN so didn't need some holiday to remind him. He was also hangry because Maria said they couldn't have snack's because of the big Thanksgiving dinner they'd be eating and didn't want them to ruin their appetites but Shadow's blood sugars were getting low meaning he was cranky which Gerald noticed slipping his lil ultimate life form a Snickers bar getting rid of the evidence so Maria wouldn't see and he'd be in a better mood.
"Okay Mei it's time to go, come on guys." Maria said as they were leaving the house walking the few blocks to Tom and Maddie's house entering seeing things were in full swing until Shadow had carved the turkey using a chainsaw wearing safety goggles as turkey went everywhere with cranberry sauce on the walls astounding everybody.
"Shadow you got turkey everywhere. We have to order in after Maddie and us got everything ready and why would you use a chainsaw to carve the turkey." Sonic yelled as Mei covered her ears making Maria sigh as she knew it'd just been a mistake hearing Tom telling Sonic to go cool down seeing him go for a run to blow off steam as they were ordering takeout but Shadow was helping clean up which was relieving Tom and Maddie knowing it was an accident seeing Maria agreeing knowing not to let Shadow carve the turkey and hoped Sonic was in a better mood as he'd maybe been hangry despite eating double cereal this morning.
"So, he was hangry that explains that outburst, not just the turkey thinng." Gerald said making Maddie nod.
They knew Knuckles and Wade were out of town at Wade's mom, Wendy's house for Thanksgiving so that eased things a bit seeing Mei playing with one of Uncle Sonic's rings thinking about Tokyo throwing it seeing a portal there making her in awe going through making Tails stunned getting their attention. "Sonic has to get her. I can't set foot in Tokyo for reasons we know." Shadow said freaking out seeing Sonic back with Mei astounding them seeing Mei grin.
"It's okay we're not mad because you didn't know the rings do that besides your dad's banned from Japan." Sonic told her.
"Alright Sonic that's enough. She knows about that which wasn't my finest parenting moment but nobody's perefext like Knuckles putting a hole in this house so it's fine." Shadow told him making Gerald excited but Maria was taking Shadow aside knowing he was hangry giving him a Snickers cookie which impressed Tom knowing Thanksgiving hadn't went perfect but it was still good despite the turkey being destroyed and Mei had teleported herself to Tokyo using a ring hoping GUN hadn't noticed but Mei was just a lil cub so meant no harm.
"That was a fun first Thanksgiving, with Shadow causing Turkeyggedon and Mei teleporting herself to Japan I can't wait o see what Christmas is like." Gerald said. "Christmas, ewww." Shadow said in a disgusted tone amusing Gerald at this knowing that Maria and Mei were looking forward tomChristmas. "I know you're not into a Christmas. My boy but Maria and Mei are, so you have to tolerate it." Gerald told him since Mei and Maria had went to bed but he and Gerald were still up and Shadow was drinking black coffee and eating Snickers cookies and to settle his nerves after Mei had teleported herself to Japan knowing when somebody used the rings, GUN foubd out feeling Gerald put his hand on his shoulder to relax him.
"It'll be okay Shadow, they wouldn't notice a cub like Mei using one." he reassured him.
