Riverdale High's students and faculty were getting busy as the Homecoming dance was coming up. Not to mention that it was also the reunion weekend. The pressure to make the night go on without a hitch was on and Dot could feel it. Even her mom was freaking out as this was going to be the night she'd see a lot of her friends again. Slowly but surely Octavia's nervousness was getting to Dot who was just as nervous as this was her first official date with Jughead.

A few days before the dance Dot, Kippi, and Veronica were looking for dresses. Betty wanted to be there too but had to bow out in the last second since the decorating duties were about to bury her alive.

"What about this one?" Ronnie asked, holding up a black sparkly dress.

Dot let her head fall to the side, giving it a good look-over. She finally shook her head. "Too many sparkles."

Veronica scrunched her nose looking at it, then disappeared into the dressing room with it once more.

Kippi walked out of another dressing room, twirling around for Dot to judge her choice. It was a long purple tulle dress with floral appliques. Dot put her hands over her heart with a loud gasp. "My goodness, you look like a princess."

Kippi, normally much less in typically girly things, giggled as her cheeks reddened. "Thanks, Dottie," she said. She looked at Dot once more. "You haven't even tried anything on yet. Come on, look around a bit!"

Dot sighed, she had no idea where to start. The past few years she wasn't too interested in dances and dates. She never wore pretty dresses or did much glam. "Fine. I'll take a look around. Give me a few minutes. That one is yours though. Seriously, you look stunning!"

She disappeared into the dressing room with a few choices, presenting each of them to her friends. Finally, she walked out with the last one. A royal blue A-line spaghetti strap tulle dress with floral appliques similar to those on Kippi's dess . Her friends' eyes widened with joy. She shot them a questioning look.

"That isit," Veronica declared in awe.

"You're gonna be the Homecoming Queen forsure," Kippi added.

Dot raised a finger at her. "I don't want that. Let's make that clear. Leave the title to Cheryl and Polly," she reminded them. The girls rolled their eyes. Dot looked at her phone. "Oh, my God, it's getting late. I promised Betty I'd help with the decorations. She's gonna besomad."

"We better get going now," Kippi said.

The girls changed out of their clothes, paid for their dresses, and hurried out of the store. Dance season really was driving them all insane.

Dot ushed into the auditorium with a box of decorations. "Betty, I am so sorry! We got held up at the store, but I am here now and ready to help."

Betty looked at her a little defeated but still smiling. "It's okay, I've got a lot of great helpers already but thank God you're here. Did you guys get your dresses?"

"Yes. We all made it work pretty successfully. What about you?"

The blonde sighed. "No. I don't even know I'm going to take to the dance yet," she replied. "I've been so busy with the dance and the Blue and Gold. I'm drowning in work."

Dot felt bad for her. Mr. Weatherbee would not give her the time of day about this. "Tell you what, after school, we're going dress shopping for you and maybe I can even get you a date. Don't worry he's nice and good-looking. Also, he's dateless and would give anything to go to the dance with someone as beautiful as you."

Betty seemed to think for a second. She looked like she wasn't sure. Blind dates aren't for everyone at all. Dot smirked as she took out her phone and looked up the most recent video on her YouTube channel. "This is my cousin, Teddy," she said, handing the phone to Betty.

The blonde watched the video, smiling. "Okay, fine. If he's down, I'm down," Betty agreed, handing the phone to her.

"Woo-hoo! That's great, I'll let him know later. And now, let's get some of that decoration off your shoulders," she said, setting the box down on a nearby table.

Jughead came in a little later with more decoration. "Hey, my lady."

"My lad," she greeted, grinning widely at him. "Hey, so my mom was wondering if you and your dad would want to come over for dinner before the dance? If not, that's okay too. No rush about our parent's meeting."

Jug seemed a little unsure but finally said. "No, that's okay. I'm down and I'm sure my dad's down. And they've technically met already. They were friends, remember?" he asked a little amused at the thought.

"Yeah, that's pretty weird, right? Like, we were destined to meet somehow."

"No doubt about it in my mind," he said, kissing her on the cheek.

"Okay," she said, clapping her hands together. "Now on to helping Betty, so we can go dress shopping later," she added. "Oh, and I gotta call my cousin."

Dot and Betty were in the Blue and Gold office to discuss the article for the Homecoming Dance. "So, you're gonna take some pictures of the people at the dance and Archie and Veronica's performance, and then Jug, Kippi, and I will write the article," Betty explained.

Dot nodded. "Got it."

"Okay, also thank you for inviting Jug and his dad to dinner at your house," Betty said.

Dot cocked an eyebrow. "Huh?" she asked.

The blonde sighed. "My mom is on this 'everyone is a suspect' trip and was about to invite the two to dinner to interrogate FP."

"What? She flat-out said that to you?" Dot asked.

"Of course not. But I'm not dumb, why else would my mom invite the two? I'm going to the dance with Teddy, not Jug," Betty replied.

"So did she invite Teddy now that she knows Jug's not available?" Dot asked.

Betty laughed. "What do you think? She couldn't exactly invite Jug to dinner and then not invite my real date when he wasn't free. You should have seen her face, it was hilarious."

A knock at the door stopped their conversation. "Teddy! My favorite Cousin!" Dot exclaimed as she rushed to hug him.

He laughed as she almost jumped on him. "Your only cousin."

"What about Phoebe? You know? Your sister? And I have a bunch of cousins in Foxlake," she told him as she set her back on the ground.

"Oh yeah. That mysterious sister of mine," he said wistfully, his jokey tone ever-present. Dot couldn't blame him though. His sister had been at college for three years and barely visited the family. She walked back over to the table and sat down.

"Hey, Betts," Teddy greeted as he hugged the girl.

"Hey, sit down. Stay a little," she offered.

"Oh no, it's okay. I just wanted to say that I'm really excited about the dinner and thanks for inviting me and my mom," he said.

"Of course. I'm looking forward to meeting your mom. And of course, dancing with you all night," Betty told him, smiling. He smiled back and Dot almost didn't want to say anything to interrupt this cute moment.

Teddy waved a quick goodbye to the girls and left them to themselves once more. "You two are so cute. I hope this works out," Dot beamed at Betty.

Betty laughed a little. "Me too. I could use a distraction from all of you lovebirds around me," she joked. "I'm still worried about what my mom will do with the FP situation though. She won't give up that easily."

Dot sighed. "I'm sure your mom won't get very far with that," she assured her. "So for now, just concentrate on the dance and Teddy. And I'm sure everything will go smoothly."

"Don't jinx it," Betty warned.

"Come on, what terrible thing is supposed to happen? You did an awesome decorating job and have amazing live music from Archie and Veronica." Dot reassured her.

"Oh, I almost forgot. I wanted to ask you if you'd sing a song too maybe?" Betty asked.

"Uh, sure. If you want that, I'm up for it." Dot replied.

Betty beamed with joy. "Great! Then everything for the dance is settled and I can finally relax."

"This week has been hard on you, huh?" Dot asked.

"Try the last few months. But, it's looking up now and the only thing I'm looking forward to is the dance," Betty replied.

"That's my girl," Dot told her, snapping her fingers at her.

"Did you put the plates on the table?" Octavia asked Dot as she rushed around the house to get ready for the night.

"That was the first thing I did, Mom!" she yelled.

"And the food?" Octavia asked, putting on her last earring as she rushed into the dining room.

"Is on the table too! Everything is ready to go, you look amazing and we're all gonna have a good time," Dot assured her as she lightly grabbed her hands to calm her down.

"Oh, honey. You look so beautiful too," Octavia beamed.

"Thanks. And thank you for doing my hair and makeup," she said, looking at herself in the mirror. Her mom did a pretty up-do for her with blue hair ornaments at the top. She matched the color of her dress with royal blue and silver eyeshadow.

The doorbell rang and both women answered it. "Hey!" Dot greeted as Jug hugged her. "Hello, Mr. Jones," she said as she shook his hand.

"Dorothy," he greeted back.

"Hey, Ms. C," Jug greeted.

"Hey, Juggie," she greeted, pulling him in for a hug. It was obvious that they had a more developed bond than Dot did with FP. But she was working on that.

"Octavia, it's been years. Nice to see you again," FP said, hugging his old friend.

"It really has. I'm happy to see you too," she laughed. "Well, come on you guys. Let's sit down," she added. The two parents walked ahead.

"You look beautiful," Jug whispered to Dot as they trotted after them.

"Thanks. And you look extremely handsome in that suit," Dot whispered back, grinning at her boyfriend.

The two sat down on their chairs and the usual chatter began. Both women were more than relieved when the dinner was over. It had gone down without a hitch and Octavia and FP seemed to rekindle their old friendship a little.

"Ah, wait you two. I want to take a picture," Octavia said as they were getting ready to leave.

Dot sighed. "Mom, it's not Prom. You don't have to."

"It's okay. I'll take a picture. If you want of course," Jug interrupted.

"Fine," she sighed. She didn't understand the big deal about the picture but understood her mom wanted to create memories. So she and Jug positioned themselves and Octavia quickly took the picture.

"Alright, thank you. Off you go! See ya in a bit, baby," Octavia said, giving Dot a kiss on the cheek.

FP had given the two teens a ride to the dance while Octavia rolled up behind them. "Be good to her tonight, Jug," FP said as the two got out of the car.

"He always is, Mr. Jones," Dot said smiling.

"Dot, would you mind giving us just a minute?" Jug asked.

Dot saw Betty, Teddy, and Kippi on the stairs. "Yeah, I'll be fine," she assured him, turning away to walk to her friends.

"Hey, you guys. You look amazing," Dot greeted them, giving them a look-over.

Betty smiled as she pulled her in for a hug. "So do you guys."

"Thank you," Dot said. "Where's Aunt Tina?" she asked Teddy.

"Oh, she went inside with your mom already. They have a trip down memory lane that they need to attend," he chuckled.

Dot laughed. "I'm glad they're having fun. And where's Reggie?" Dot asked Kippi. It was clear to Dot that she was upset about something.

"Oh, he already went inside with Moose. I had to take a little break. He already had plenty of drinks. I couldn't even introduce him to my gran because of it," Kippi replied with an eye roll. Her dress was equally matched with a light purple eyeshadow and a bridal hairstyle.

Dot shook her head. Reggie was missing out. "I'm so sorry, babe. You deserve better than that."

Kippi nodded, a little disappointed that the night wasn't going as planned.

"How was the dinner?" Dot asked Betty.

"A little awkward. I invited my dad to get back at my mom a little," Betty explained.

"After she threw that brick through that window, I'm not surprised," Dot said.

"Hey guys, ready to go in?" Jug asked as he rushed up the stairs.

"Yeah, let's go," Betty said, linking arms with Teddy as the two walked ahead.

Dot looked at Jug. "You okay?" she asked.

"Yeah, I am actually. I have to talk to you about something after the dance," he said.

"Sure," Dot smiled.

"Wow, Betty you outdid yourself with this one," Dot complimented as they all walked in.

But her friend seemed too focused on something else to listen. "Uh, guys would you get us some punch, please?" Betty asked the boys.

"Yeah, sure. Be right back." Jug said.

"Thanks," she said distractedly.

"What's wrong, Betty?" Dot asked when the guys were out of hearing range.

"Have you seen Archie and Veronica?" the blonde asked as she looked around.

"No, maybe they had a dinner too?" Dot asked.

Betty shook her head. "Mr. and Mrs. Andrews and Mrs. Lodge are already here."

"You think they teamed up with your mom?" Dot asked.

Betty sighed. "Maybe."

The boys walked back to them. "Okay, just, don't freak out. I'm sure they'll be here soon. They have to be anyway. They still have to sing their song, right?" Dot asked.

"I guess," Betty said as the boys arrived back. They were laughing about something.

"What's so funny?" Dot asked as she took the punch that Jug was offering her.

"This guy is hilarious. How have you not introduced us sooner?" Jug asked as he pointed at Teddy.

"Well, we've been pretty busy with life. I'm glad you get along, though," Dot said.

"Oh, Dottie I think you're up next. And I have to announce you," Betty chimed in.

"Oh, my God! Yes! Holy shit, I forgot!" Dot yelled.

Betty walked up on the stage and directed the attention towards her. "Good evening, Riverdale High and thank you so much for coming," she said. The crowd started cheering. "Now, we have two great live performances coming up. So please, welcome our first performer of the evening, my best friend and Riverdale High's very own, Dorothy Cahill!

The crowd began cheering again. Dot and Betty had been suggesting eighties dance hits for Dot to sing back and forth. Finally, Betty suggestedI Wanna Dance With Somebodyby Whitney Houston and Dot fell for the idea immediately.

She sang her heart out on that stage and for the first time in forever felt free. The crowd loved it and her mom, aunt, Jug, Betty, and Teddy were smiling at her the whole time. Dot loved it and didn't want to give it up for the world. When it was over the crowd cheered and Dot radiated happiness. "Thank you! Have a great time!"

She ran back to her friends and almost tackled Jug when she reached them. "That was amazing!" he said as he hugged her back.

"Yeah, seriously. I'm so glad I finally got to hear you sing again," Teddy added.

Kippi just hugged her. She was still alone, when Dot looked around she saw Reggie wildly dancing a little behind the group. Kippi was not kidding when she said he was drunk. "Christ on a crock, will you check on him before he makes a complete fool of himself?"

The blonde turned around confused, then turned back sighing as she rolled her eyes and rushed off to be with Reggie.

"Dot, hey!" Kevin greeted, walking towards the group with Joaquin next to him. "That was an amazing performance. Archie and Veronica are going to have a hard time beating that," he said, smiling at her.

"If they ever arrive here." Betty chimed in. Dot gave the girl a little push with her hip. Minutes later, Betty spotted Archie and Veronica arriving and immediately excused herself.

"Dottie!" the brunette suddenly heard behind her. It was her aunt Tina whom she hadn't seen in years.

"Oh, my God!" Dot yelled back as her aunt engulfed her in a hug.

"You did so good, honey," Octavia said.

"Thanks, Mom," Dot said. "Oh, Aunt Tina, this is my boyfriend, Jughead. Jughead, this is my aunt, Tina."

Jug shook the woman's hand. "So handsome. Good choice, sweety," Tina whispered, winking at her.

Dot laughed. She had missed her family more than she thought.

In the distance, Betty seemed to be arguing with Archie and Veronica and at that point, Teddy noticed something was wrong. "Am I going to be able to spend the rest of the night with her without her running off?" he whispered to Dot.

"There have been some problems. It's Blue and Gold business but don't worry. She'll be back in a minute," Dot replied in a hushed tone.

"Good. Because I really like her," Teddy said, smiling as he looked at her in the distance. Dot smirked to herself. This was all she wanted and she was sure Betty liked him too. Although, right then things seemed to get crazy and she wasn't sure if the two were going to get to know each other.

Octavia and Tina went back to the other parents. Betty soon came back to the group and grabbed Teddy's hand, smiling as the mayor went up on the stage. But as soon as he looked away, she began frowning. "Friends, students, and alumni. I hope you brought your dancing shoes. Please join me in welcoming to the stage Riverdale High's very own Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge!"

The crowd cheered and the two started singing. All the while they were acting happy, like suspiciously so. Something was going on between the two. But even if that were the case, Dot couldn't be happier for them. Even though there was this nagging feeling in the back of her head that they might have teamed up with Alice to prove FP was guilty. Dot glanced over to Betty and Teddy now and then and couldn't help but see that Betty was still frowning as she watched her friends on stage.

When the two were done, Betty immediately ran toward the two. Teddy looked around helplessly as everyone else began dancing to the slow song. Dot saw Kippi in the background who was also standing alone. Dot imagined Reggie was throwing up on the toilet or just ditched her. She felt bad for the two so she nudged Teddy to dance with Kippi until Betty returned. The boy nodded and walked off to dance with the lonely-looking girl. Dot and Jug started slow dancing and looked off at Teddy and Kippi. Kippi seemed more than relieved she wasn't left to dance alone.

"I feel so bad for Teddy," Dot told Jug.

"Me too. I was sure the two were clicking. What is up with Betty today anyways?" Jug asked Dot.

She sighed. "There's been some problems with Arch and Ronnie."

"Really? I haven't noticed anything," he wondered.

Dot shrugged. "Me either, actually. Not until Betty told me earlier."

Jug nodded. "Well right now. This is our moment," he said. Dot smiled at him. But the feeling that something was wrong was still there. Jug seemed to notice her frowning. "What's wrong?"

"I think we should maybe look for the three. I'm a little scared that they're clashing out in the hallway or something," Dot sreplied.

Jug nodded. "Okay, let's go."

Just as Dot had feared, she and Jug had found the three friends in the hallway. Betty was yelling at them, so they had to have done something. "Guys, what's going on?" Dot asked. "What's happening, B? Teddy is all alone in there. He had to resort to dancing with Kippi."

Betty looked at her apologetically. "I'm sorry. I'll get back to him later, I promise. It's just..." she trailed off, looking at the couple behind her. "Do you want to tell him or should I?"

The two looked ashamed and didn't seem to know what to say. Jug looked at them confused. "Tell me what?"

"We went to your dad's trailer to-" Archie started.

"To search it, Jughead," Veronica added.

Dot couldn't believe it. Betty was right all along. She would have never thought her friends could do something like that. "Why would you guys do that?" Jug asked.

"My mom put them up to it. She was convinced he was hiding something about Jason," Betty explained. She herself was ashamed too at this point.

"We were wrong. All of us. We didn't find anything," Veronica assured him.

Archie stepped up. "And Jug, we were only doing it to prove that-"

"That my dad wasn't a murderer? You went behind my back, Archie?" Jug interrupted, enraged.

"Jug..." Archie trailed off.

"How did you- When did you guys know to go to my dad's trailer?" he stuttered.

"We knew he'd be at dinner with..." Veronica trailed off.

Dot was furious at that point. The two were not just going behind Jughead's but also her back once again, even after they had decided they would not keep secrets from each other anymore. "Seriously?"

"Did you know about this?" Jug asked her.

Dot shook her head wildly. "No,of course not. I said, I trusted your dad and I meant what I said," she assured him.

"But you, you all lied to me," he said, turning back to the three.

"Not-" Dot said when she was cut off by Fred, Hermione, Octavia, Alice, Mary and Kevin rushing toward them.

"Betty. Thank God." Alice said.

"Mom, don't-" Betty hissed.

"No, you have to listen. All of you," Hermione interrupted.

"My dad just told Mayor McCoy about your dad, Jughead," Kevin said.

"What about my dad?" Jug asked.

"He was just arrested. For the murder of Jason Blossom," Fred said.

Jug looked at them, disappointment, hurt, and anger in his eyes. He ran off. Dot immediately took off after him. "Jug, wait!" she yelled. She followed him until he was out of sight and the only thing she was left with at that point was resentment towards her friends and the feeling that something was still wrong.

Dot and Octavia were back home. They were sitting on the couch, Dot's head lay in her mother's lap. "Do you think he really did it?" she asked her mom, breaking the silence.

Octavia was stroking her daughter's hair. She was shocked about the night's end as well. She sighed. "I'm not sure."

Suddenly the doorbell rang. Dot went up to get it. It was close to midnight and Dot wasn't sure who it could be. It was Betty, Veronica, and Archie. Dot sighed, shaking her head.

"Dot, please. Listen to us. We're sorry for what we did," Veronica said.

"Have you heard from Jughead?" Betty asked.

"No. I didn't find him anywhere. He's not returning my calls either," she replied. "You were right, Betts. I jinxed this night."

Betty shook her head. "You didn't do anything wrong."

"I can't believe you went behind his back like that. I thought we would tell each other anything from now on. No more secrets, no more lies," Dot said to Veronica and Archie.

"And we're so sorry. But we know that FP is innocent. Somebody planted that gun after we left," Archie said.

Dot didn't know what to make of the situation. Could she really trust her friends? Or were they just making up for the mistake they had made? Their wonderful night had been overshadowed by the betrayal of her friends and Dot was beyond angry. But if there was one thing she wanted, it was justice for FP and for Jughead to be happy. "Okay, come in," she said at last.
