Chapter4:Beneath the surface

Its been some days since the young league fight with the amazo now they are training under black canary, when she is not available ben trained them which is brutal.

Now black canary was training them in combat they are doing well and giving a better fight to her to which she was surprised.

"wow! I didn't expect you to fight this well" said black canary.

"Ben trained us when you are not available besides he is more brutal than you while fighting him its like fighting a villan who is determined to kill said kid flash.

"Really!" asked canary then she pulled a video in the training room which has a video of ben training them she watched the video and it is brutal.

"its really brutal but is it necessary to select such brutal method" asked canary.

"Of course, criminals won't be lenient and you are still treating them as children so I took the privilege to do it" said ben.

Even after seeing the team work and how they handled amazo the league didn't trusted them and still putting them in shadows so ben decided to take the situation into his hands.

"I think batman forgot his deal remind him as long as he stayed on the deal I will be here and again remind him not to betray the trust I gave him" said ben knowing what batman was doing.

"don't you think you are asking more" asked canary.

"I am asking what we agreed and reminding him about trust." Said ben.

"trust will take some time so you should wait" said canary.

"So batman trust you all and you all know his things" asked ben.

"no! batman is like that from the beginning" said canary.

"see I am not expecting him to trust me, what I am telling is don't betray the trust I gave and he is a hypocrite and I don't trust him either" said ben.

"what do you mean by that" asked canary.

Ben paused for a moment and didn't said anything canary waited ben to talk.

"nothing remind him about the agreement" said batman.

Time skip

Its been few months ben joined the young league and participated in many missions with them.

Mount Justice

Now kid flash, robin, aqualad, artemis, m'gaan, superboy are in mount justice, ben is not present with them.

Suddenly a distress signal was sent to mount justice robin went to check it in a video call batman was present.

"ben has gone rogue he attacked the watch tower and attacked the league" said batman with pain in his voice.

Then batman was knocked by ben.

"if you care about your life don't come here else you will regret" said ben with a cold voice, then the communication went off.

"this is unexpected" said kidflash.

"we need to save them" said robin.

"how? if the league cant stop ben how can we stop him" asked kid flash.

"robin is right we cant delay" said aquald.

"don't be a cry baby and move" said artemis.

Then the team teleported to the watch tower to stop ben.

Watch tower

The young league consisting of robin, kidflash, m'gaan, artemis, superboy and aqualad teleported to watch tower when they arrived the tower is a mess.

"Wow ben really caused a mess" said aqualad.

"We need to stop him and free the league" said robin.

"we need to stay together" said artemis.

"hey it will take ages we need to go individual" said kidflash.

"personally I think your plans always caused us troubles kidflash" said m'gaan.

"hey I don't cause any problems" defended kidflash.

"really who caused the whole team the trouble while a certain someone is flirting with m'gaan" asked artemis.

Kid dropped his head down.

"I agree with kidflash" said superboy.

Kidflash face lighted by hearing it.

"really" asked robin.

After a argument they decided to go individual.

Training room

Kid flash entered the training room, he felt somebody is watching him, he turned back to see but no one was there when he turned his face ben as xlr8 was standing infront of him kid flash startled because of that.

"it seems you don't care for you life" said xlr8 in raspy voice.

"why are you doing this ben?" asked kidflash.

"no reason I am just having fun" said ben and quicly gave blows to kidflash so he didn't have time to counter attack or dodge xlr8 knocked him unconscious.

Control room

We see robin was searching in control room he heard a sound of person walking.

"ben come out and face me" cried robin.

Then suddenly ben dropped from ceiling and caught robin off guard.

"didn't bat taught you to look in all directions" taunted ben.

"shutup" robin gritted in pain.

"what are you saying I cant hear you" mocked ben.

Then with swift kick with his leg he knocked robin unconscious.

Med bay

In med bay aqualad was searching for ben.

Ben stood infront of aqualad.

"surrender your self ben" said aqualad in stern voice.

Then ben transformed into water hazard.

"Lets see how can you stand infront of a person who has same powers as you" said water hazard.

Then aqualad using his water bearers send water toward water hazard which water hazard easily absorbed and send them with more force at aqualad which he had difficulty to stop finally the water hit aqualad hard.

"lets see how you will stand without water" said aqualad and started absorbing all moisture in the room and absorbed water form aqualad.

Aqualad felt water leaving his body which made him fear the worst after a few seconds ben stopped absorbing and knocked aqualad unconscious.

Hanger

Superboy was searching for ben then suddenly he was punched in face by chromastone in face.

Superboy in rage went to attack ben, but ben using his superior agility and reflxes dodged all of them and puched superboy in face and ribs, ben gave a brutal beating to superboy and finally he sent a energy blast at superboy knocking him unconscious.

Observation deck

M'gaan and artemis met each other at the observation deck.

"did you find him" asked artemis.

"No".

"what about others" asked artemis.

"no I didn't heard any thing do you think ben attacked them" asked m'gaan.

"don't know we have been here for hours and still we didn't find the league" said artemis.

"we should stayed as team" said m'gaan.

"well atleast someone is clever" said a voice.

Then they turned to see who is speaking they saw ben as swampfire walking toward them.

"ben why are you doing this?" asked m'gaan.

"nothing personal" said swampfire.

Then artemis using her bow fired arrows at ben which passed from ben, then swampfire using his chlorokenisis made vines sprouted from ground and trapped artemis.

Then m'gaan using her telekinesis lifted some objects and throwed at swampfire, but he easily blasted them with fire swampfire ran toward m'gaan he punched her which made her to wince in pain then swampfire decided to end it and released gas from his palm which made m'gaan unconscious.

Meanwhile artemis with difficultly using a knife freed her self from vines then she went to m'gaan who is unconscious to wake up her.

"are you okay?" asked artemis.

"yeah I am fine" said m'gaan.

"Where is ben?" asked m'gaan.

"don't know by the time I freed my self he is not here" said artemis.

"lets find others unless we work as a team we cant stop him" said m'gaan.

Then they both went together to find others last they went to hanger and find superboy unconscious.

M'gaan went quickly to wake him up he gradually woke up and asked them what happened.

"ben happened and humiliated us" said kid flash.

"isn't it your plan to go individually" said artemis.

"stop we are not here to fight among ourselves lets concentrate on current matter" said aqualad.

"we need to work as team to defeat him" said robin.

Then they heard foot steps coming toward them.

When they turned to see ben is coming toward them.

Superboy rushed first at ben ben quickly transformed to humongasaur and punched superboy.

M'gaan using her telekenisis lifted superboy and told him telepathically.

"I will create momentum, you hit him with full strength" said m'gaan.

"oaky".

then m'gaan created momentum by spinning him, meanwhile kidflash using him speed gave jabs to ben which in return hurted him.

"your puny attacks don't hurt me" said humongasuar.

Robin throwed some explosive batrangs at him which caused tingling to humangasaur.

Artemis fired a arrow when it hit humongasuar he was covered in foam when he tried to escape from the foam a strong hit was given to him by courtesy of superboy, which made humongasaur little dazed, but he quickly recovered and increased him size to free him self and intimidate the team he punched superboy which made him to hit on the walls of the hangar robin tried to throw birdrangs which failed due to increase in size in last attempt he throwed a knockout gas humongasaur caught and throwed at robin, robin caught off guard was knocked unconscious by his own knockout gas.

Kidflash using his speed tried to create a vortex but due to humongasaur size it failed, m'gaan tried to made ben unconscious but omnitrix protected him and knocked m'gaan unconscious.

Superboy in rage hit ben using his fullstrength ben able to dodge them and punched superboy.

"Your anger will be your downfall superboy".

Atremis shot an arrow with explosive but it didn't do any damage then humongasuar caught kidflash who was running around him and throwed him artemis which made both unconscious.

Now aqualad and superboy were left aqualad using his water bearers attacked humongasuar, but humongasur caught aqualad in one hand and superboy in other headbutted their heads which made aqualad unconscious and last superboy was remaining although superboy was weak and his body was sour by hits from humongasuar he was determined to fight with ben. Using his last strength he hit humongasuar but before his hand touched humongasuar face he was knocked down by punch from humongasaur.

After some time the first to wake up was robin freed from effects of knockout gas,

When he first wokeup he met ben sitting in a chair infront of him robin lunged to attack him.

"stand down robin" a voice declared.

When robin turned to see who it was it was batman along with justice league entering the medical ward.

Then remaining members of the young league woke up then saw ben sitting in chair and tried to attack him.

"what happened batman" asked robin.

"you all did well in training" said superman.

"what! batman said ben attacked you the watch tower and when we arrived here we couldn't find you and ben attacked us" said robin.

"of course its all a part of the plan" said ben.

"what plan?" asked kid flash.

"ben proposed us a plan which helps you in training we considered it but ben made us to play along it" said flash.

"did it mean he really attacked you all?" asked m'gaan.

"no" said superman.

"it's a good plan so we agreed" said batman.

"you did well" said wonder woman.

"so you watched us all" asked robin.

"of course" said flash.

Then the young league turned to ben seeing him smiling at him.

"so I humiliated you all" asked ben with a smug look.

"no we managed you to stop for a few seconds" said kidflash.

"whatever" said ben.

Then batman interrupted them.

"you all need to improve ben defeated you all easily without trying so you should develop teamwork and increase your strength" said batman.

"yes if ben is not here you will be still doing covert missions" said flash.

"okay go and rest for today" said superman.

Then they all left the watch tower only ben was remaining in watch tower.

"Do you still resent him?" Ben asked, referring to Superboy.

"It's... I don't know how to digest it," Superman replied, still deep in thought.

"Or is it because he was created to destroy you?" Ben pressed.

Superman hesitated, searching for the right words.

"Don't delay. He looks up to you. Don't disappoint him; he's still waiting for your attention. Delaying only breeds resentment, and if that happens, it will create problems no one can solve. I'm speaking from experience," Ben added, remembering a certain mutated galvanic mechamorph in his universe.

Superman was taken aback by his words.

"Don't let the mistakes of Cadmus and other villains affect your relationship with him," Ben urged.

"I'll think about it," Superman said, finally.

After Ben left the Watchtower, Batman approached Superman from behind.

"If I were you, I would listen to him," Batman said.

Superman turned, surprised to hear those words from Batman.

"Really? You're agreeing with him? That's rare," Superman remarked.

"It's not Conner's fault he was born as a clone of Superman. He didn't ask for it. As Ben said, delaying this will only cause irreversible damage," Batman replied, before turning and leaving Superman to ponder his thoughts.
