Chapter 14: On the Lamb:

Aiko's POV:

So, now it's not going to be easy for me to fly around. I was with my cousin, Hiromu. "Wait, you saw what happened," I asked.

"Yeah, I saw Kōkō no Tenshi chasing that wasp woman through my telescope," says Hiromu, "but I have no proof!"

He's also not the best judge of character. I still don't trust his fiancée, Mutsuki, but I haven't found a good time to tell him there's something suspicious about her. "Keep trying," I said.

...

I was watching the news and Yutsune was bragging about how she tried to stop me from taking the kid! "That liar," I said, "did anyone even ask how she caught up to me?"

"How did you catch up to her," asks a cop.

"I wish people would stop asking me that," says Yutsune.

"Oh, I guess they do," I said.

"I keep telling you people, I was already in the building!"

That part would make sense, because that was the roof of her apartment building!

"I still say Yutsune's a stalker, but I do trust Kōkō no Tenshi even less," says Haranibu.

Great.

Hiromu's POV:

"Did you notice she keeps talking about it," I asked.

"I know, it's kind of annoying," says Alan.

"I think she might be that wasp woman," I said.

"Hiromi, I think you're just making assumptions," says Rulan.

Admittedly... it does sound like that, but I'm sure of it! I'm a great judge of character. Anyway, I wonder what my fiancée, Mutsuki's doing.

Kōkō no Tenshi's POV:

I was flying, hoping to find a way to clear my name, but then the police came. "Right, didn't think that through," I said. I then flew and police helicopters were chasing me.

...

I was flying away. I still have that wound from the sting. I then stopped and saw Mutsuki with another man. "And Hiromu's the guy I have to trust," I asked, "if he makes things worse, I'm going to commit a real crime and he's going to be my target!" I then remembered the police and kept flying.

...

I managed to land and Hiromu's right there. "You're Kōkō no Tenshi!"

"Yes... Citizen," I said.

"A-are you really innocent," asks Hiromu, "I mean, I'm a great judge of character..." I rolled my eyes. "... but I have to be sure..."

"Yes," I said, "I'm innocent!" I was feeling pain.

"Are you okay?"

"That wasp stung me," I said.

"That could be the proof... wait... that wound could be anything..."

"Yutsune's the wasp," I said.

"I knew it," says Hiromu, "she bragged too much!"

That sounds like making assumptions. I hope he doesn't become a private eye. "The police are coming," I said.

"Don't worry, I just need to get Yutsune to confess," says Hiromu, "hey, there's my fiancée..."

"That's your fiancée," I asked, "wow, I saw her with another man!"

"What," asks Hiromu.

"When I was trying to fly from the police, I saw her," I said.

"OOOOkkkkaaaayyyy... I'm hurt and also realizing I may not be a great judge of character... I want to be clear..."

"Yes, I'm telling the truth," I said, "now, can we go!"

...

We talked to Haranibu. "I still don't forgive Yutsune, "but why should I trust you?"

"I am innocent," I said.

"So, what's the deal with Yutsune," asks Hiromu.

"She's obsessed with me," says Haranibu, "she even threatened my daughter just for being born from my cheating ex-wife!"

"That could work," says Hiromu, "there's no way someone who wants to kill a child herself would want to save her!"

"I just figured she had a change of heart when she saw her in danger," says Haranibu.

"That is possible," says Hiromu, "but I don't think that's the case with her! Let's go!"

...

Yutsune was on the news again. "I just can't believe that butterfly woman would take a kid like that," says Yutsune.

"Hold it," says Hiromu, "did you threaten to take her yourself?"

"What? No! I was just mad at Haranibu! I didn't mean it!"

I was disguised and still feeling my wound.

"So, you're mad that despite divorcing his wife, he still rejected you," asks Hiromu.

"I-I-Wait, how do you know..."

"I bet you were pretty mad," says Hiromu.

"Who even are you," asks Yutsune.

"Mad enough to..."

"Will you shut up? He should've been with me! Fate even decreed it by turning me into a wasp... oh!"

I then took off my disguise. "Now you all hear," I said.

"Uh... we didn't prove she did it, they just heard she was a wasp," says Hiromu, "you revealed yourself too early!"

"Oops," I said.

Yutsune laughs. "Now no one will know that I took the kid and tried to get rid of her while you interfered and got stung by me... oh!"

"I guess it worked out anyway," says Hiromu.

...

Yutsune was locked up. "I feel bad for thinking it was Kōkō no Tenshi," says Rulan.

"I'm sure she understand," I said, "I mean, you had no way of knowing!"

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask," says Alan, "what happened to you?"

He noticed my wound. "Uh..."

"Well, I broke up with Mutsuki," says Hiromu, "I can't believe I was able to prove Kōkō no Tenshi, but I couldn't tell someone was cheating on me! Oh well." We then all laughed.
