Here we are. Gonna have Julie make a return. I know there's a stigma with her but I will fix her. I always had a soft spot for her and I want to make her better than before. It will be great and tasteful . Now I hope you all enjoy!!
Chapter 6: Newcomers
Julie was sitting outside the coffee shop, waiting for Ben to show up. She was very nervous about the meeting, wondering what she would say, what she would do. Her nerves were on edge.
At that moment, her phone dinged. She looked at the notification and it was from Ben.
The message read "Pulling in now."
She noticed Ben's car parking and from the car, came Ben. And boy….she was shocked.
Ben wore a black t-shirt, tucked in his pants with a belt. He wore stylish boots, complemented by black and red aviators on his face.
He walked over and sat down.
"Ben? Is that you?" Julie asked.
Ben nodded. "It is…a lot has happened since our last meeting..." He got the attention of a waiter and ordered an espresso with a hint of cinnamon.
The waiter nodded and went to put the order in.
Julie decided to start the conversation. "Ben…I'm so sorry for how I was towards you during our relationship...I was selfish, rude, and ignorant of your feelings…I should have realized that I wasn't the center of attention and been more understanding…and to make things worse…I basically cheated on you…now you have every right to be angry to me and I'm sure you hate me but-"
Ben cut her off. "Julie…I've never hated you…it wasn't just your fault for what happened…I was arrogant, my ego was very high and I was too worried about my fame…I was the one who should have paid more attention to you and been a better boyfriend...and I understand why you got with someone else. It makes me happy to know you found someone who loves you…"
She sighed. "Well he didn't really…I walked in on him in bed with another woman…I broke a couple of his trophies and left…took the first flight to Bellwood. I had a lot of time to think on that flight. I'm giving up the entire tennis career and I'm going to become a tennis teacher here." She smiled. "I already have my savings to do it."
"Julie, that's amazing!! You're one of the best in the world, if not the best. A lot of people would give an arm and leg to be one of your students." He smiled.
The Japanese girl nodded. "There…was something else as well. I want…to give us another chance…"
That hit Ben hard. Never in a million years did he expect Julie to come back. Then again, he was basically in a relationship with a former enemy, one of his friends, another ex, and a princess who was obsessed with him.
He rubbed his chin. "Well…it's a possibility but…it's also complicated."
Julie raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by complicated?"
He pulled his phone and pulled up a picture, handing it to Julie.
It was a picture of Ben and his lovers that he took. They were at the carnival:
Julie looked up. "You have four girlfriends?"
Ben nodded. "I do…so…if you want to even have a chance…you have to talk to them."
She thought about it. Looma potentially still hated her guts, Attea was probably still evil, she didn't know Helen very well, but remembered Ester.
Was it worth it?
She then looked at Ben. "Then let me talk to them about it…"
He nodded. He knew it would probably be a bloody mess so he was prepared.
*Cut to the house*
Ben was sitting on the couch with Ester and Helen cuddled up to his sides, Attea on his lap and he was in Looma's lap.
Julie was across on the smaller couch, fidgeting with her fingers.
The girls were glaring at her, with judging looks.
"So…you want back in Benny's life?" Attea said as she had her arms around Ben.
Julie nodded. "I…do. I want to give us another chance…"
Ester replied. "Well…it worked with me and Ben, and it's worked out."
Looma stroked her chin. "And the same goes for me and Attea."
Helen looked up. "But does Ben feel the same?"
They all turned their attention to the hero.
Ben was still processing this all. What cosmic force bestowed this upon him? Was this a blessing? A curse? Perhaps both.
"Ben?" Looma asked.
Ben snapped out of it. "Huh? Oh yes…I do believe it can work. I mean, as you all pointed out: most of you got a second chance and my heart is big enough to love you all. If you all agree, we can open this love nest further for Julie. But she has to follow the rules."
This made Julie smile.
The girls nodded and looked at Julie.
Attea said. "Welcome aboard."
Julie smiled. "Thank you. I won't let you down."
"Just remember." Looma said. "If you hurt our man, I'll crush your skull like an egg. I haven't forgotten that." She growled as she held Ben protectively.
Julie gulped. She had a lot to prove.
*Meanwhile*
Rook and Shar were on the station, doing some exercises and protocol review.
Max was arranging a consulate for many alien races, a peace conference if you will, and he asked Rook and Shar to be in charge of the security.
Shar looked over at her brother.
She had to talk to Rook about something…
She took a deep breath. "Blanko…there is something I wish to discuss with you."
Rook was looking at his datapad as he replied. "Of course, sister. What is on your mind?"
Shar rubbed her arm. "How do you….talk to a person you want to be with romantically?"
Rook looked up from his datapad and at his sister. "You have a romantic attraction to someone?"
She nodded.
Rook rubbed his chin then said. "Well, from what I have learned, you take the person of interest out on what humans call a date. And when the moment is right, declare your feelings for the other. It is what I did with Rayona."
Shar nodded. She had a lot of research to do. To plan a date, take Ben out, and tell him what she was feeling.
Max entered the room. "Rook, get Ben here now."
Rook turned. "What fo-"
He was cut off as Max was standing there with Retsu.
Retsu said. "I am here to see Ben Tennyson."
Rook made the call.
*Elsewhere*
Vilgax was preparing for the resurrection of the dead celestial he called The Harvester.
He knew this creature had the power to erase not only Tennyson's world, but any other planet that stood in the way of his rule.
The tyrant observed as his troops moved equipment into the corpse of the dead god.
His plan was simple. He would link his own mind with that of the celestial, transforming it into a vessel of destruction. It would be an extension of Vilgax, one that would prove useful for him.
One of his advisors walked up. "Restoration is at 67 percent, my lord. By my calculations, we will be ready by the end of the Earth year."
Vilgax growled and said. "That is not good enough. Work twice as hard, no breaks. I want this vessel active in half that time!"
"But, my lord-"
"Do it!! Or I will remove your head and find someone who can do the job properly." Vilgax glared.
The advisor nodded and went away to do what was asked of him.
This was too important.
*Earth*
Ben arrived at the base with his girls by teleporter. He was just getting Julie settled in when he was called in.
Julie looked around curiously as Ship was basically on her shoulder like a scarf.
The other girls kept a close eye on this girl. Looma especially. She remembered how the girl broke Ben's heart after she basically cheated on Ben.
Attea had that judgemental look at Julie.
Ester honestly couldn't care less. She trusted Ben's judgment about Julie, plus she seemed nice.
Helen just wanted Ben to be happy and knew he wouldn't do this out of selfishness. He was a caring individual.
Ben was nervous about what Max had to tell him. Was it bad news? Was there an invasion? His nerves were shot.
The girls saw he was nervous and Looma touched his shoulder. "Everything will be okay, beloved."
Ben smiled and touched her hand. "Thank you…"
The group stopped outside the main room where Max was waiting.
"You have a visitor, Ben. And he doesn't seem to be leaving anytime soon. Best you don't keep him waiting." Max told him.
Ben gulped and entered the room.
Retsu sat at a table, sipping a cup of tea.
He gestured to a chair. "Please. Sit. We have much to discuss."
Ben nodded and sat down. "Who are you? Why did you want to meet with me?"
Retsu sat down the cup and began to speak. "My name is Retsu Kaioh. I am a martial arts master from China. Due to my immortality, I've trained with hundreds of fighters, alien and human alike, learning various skills and techniques."
Ben listened and nodded. "That still doesn't explain what you want with me."
"Mr. Tennyson, I have heard of your recent outburst in Undertown. What happened to you." Retsu said.
Ben scoffed. "It was a simple adrenaline rush and I got carried away-"
Retsu interrupted him. "What that was is not an adrenaline rush. It's a power that has not shown itself in eons. Yours is very rage induced. Without proper training or etiquette, you will lose yourself mentally and physically."
Ben could not believe what he was hearing. "Could it be...connected to magic?"
Retsu nodded. "It is very possible, considering your background and encounters with such things." He sipped his tea.
The master finally said. "I want to train you. At least how to properly channel this energy through martial arts and kung fu." He smiled.
Ben said. "Wait, you want to train ME? Aren't you worried I'll disappoint you or waste your time?"
Retsu replied. "I've been watching you. What you have gone through...has humbled you. You are ready." He continued." I can get Levin and Blanko to assist."
Ben chuckled. "Kevin would take any opportunity to drop kick me. I accept."
The two shook hands.
Over the next few weeks, Ben was on a strict training regiment. He woke up early every morning before work. He lifted weights, starting at 160. He eventually got up to 320.
He trained in the training room with Rook and Shar. Ben had forgotten how much he hated Revonnah Kai. Eventually he learned how to counter the attacks and even took them down. He had some moments with Shar as they were on top of each other, their eyes locked. Their faces were as red as tomatoes.
They broke it up before things got too steamy.
When he wasn't training with Rook, he was doing it somewhere else.
Kevin trained with Ben in the gym, boxing. Kevin was mostly messing around, but ended up with a missing tooth after Ben gave him a devastating uppercut. He underestimated the hero's newfound strength. So that effectively ended that routine.
Looma also volunteered to help Ben. She was excited to see him fight in human form, and hopefully he would not disappoint.
She was dressed in a tank top with shorts. She had her helmet removed.
Ben was in awe of her. She had white bobcut hair. He had never really paid attention to her hair as she did her best to hide it. The hero didn't notice that she charged at him, but he got out of the way.
He moved with speed and ferocity. She threw a punch, but Ben was able to dodge it. He aimed for her legs and swept one out from under her.
Looma giggled as she said. "You're doing great, beloved!! This is amazing!!"
Ben raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
Looma smirked and took out his leg, dropping him on top of her. She said. "Definitely. All that fighting has made me feel….hot~" She nibbled his ear, causing him to moan softly.
He replied as he blushed. "Let's wait till we get home. I'd hate to make a mess~"
The princess pouted. "But that's the most fun."
Ben chuckled. "I know, but we have to be patient." He kissed her cheek, making her smile.
And when he wasn't with any of them, he was with Retsu. The master taught him many new techniques and moves, ones most of his friends didn't even know about.
Ben was even taught how to meditate properly. This helped calm his nerves and taught him to control his emotions.
By the end of the day, Retsu discussed with Ben about his progress.
"You are doing well, Ben. Since we started, you have excelled. You've become stronger and more patient. I believe you're ready for the most powerful and difficult technique. All of which we will get into tomorrow." Retsu told him.
Ben nodded. "Thank you, sensei…I will be here early to train."
Retsu nodded and Ben was dismissed.
The hero had to walk home as his car was currently in the mechanic shop. Fistrick had caused great damage to the vehicle during a fight. Ben was pissed, but it is what it is. To make matters worse, it was pouring outside.
He sighed as he walked, but was interrupted as he heard a disturbance in an alleyway. He entered the alley, his blaster aimed and ready to fire.
There was a clatter at some trash cans.
He took a deep breath and made his way over. When he moved the cans, he saw something that made him freeze…something he never expected to see again…
*Ben's Home*
Sandra had decided to visit the girls to go through some items. She also brought over some old photo albums to show them.
The girls aw'ed as they saw baby pictures of Ben. There was pictures of him in a baby pool, one where he was in a little lamb costume.
That one hit Sandra's attention. "Oh, and he used to sing a song about being a lamb when he wore that. I have a video of it."
Attea chuckled. "You HAVE to show us that."
As Sandra was about to pull her phone out, Ben came in soaking wet from the rain. He was holding something in his jacket.
Julie got up. "Ben? Are you ok?"
He looked. "I need a towel…."
Ester got him a warm towel." Here you go, Benny."
Ben shook his head. "Not for me…for her."
The girls were confused until Ben opened the jacket, revealing a little girl.
She looked like Ben, except for a few differences.
She had blue blemishes on her face that looked like birth marks. Her eyes were almost like a Necrofriggin. And her hair was white.
She looked around, holding on tightly to her father.
"It's of Big Chill's offsprings…" Julie said.
The other girls looked at her as Julie explained what happened. About how Ben's transformation gave birth to 13 offspring and went into space.
The girls nodded as they listened.
Sandra approached the little girl.
The girl hid in her fathers chest. "No…don't let them take me away, daddy…" She teared up.
Ben held her close. "It's okay, sweetie. They won't hurt you. These are people very close to me and that woman in the green shirt is your grandmother." He smiled.
She looked up at Sandra with those big green eyes. Ben's mother couldn't help but melt.
Ben kissed his daughters forehead. "Let's get you cleaned up and some proper clothes, sweetie…" He took her upstairs.
Sandra and Ben's lovers watched as Ben took great care of the little girl. He bathed her, got her a large t-shirt to wear until he could get her some good clothes, he brushed her hair.
She already looked better.
Ben sat her down to get her something to eat, Ester and Julie helping. They then heard metal bending.
Everyone turned and saw the little girl eating a fork.
Ben chuckled. "Well that's dinner covered for her." He smiled.
The little girl gave grabby arms to Ben and he picked her up, carrying her to the couch.
As she was cuddling with her dad, she asked. "Daddy…what's my name?"
Ben looked up at his lovers.
They all suggested names like Crystal, Lumi, Sylvia, Madison, Maxine, things like that.
Ben looked at the little girl and smiled. "Evilyn Ruby Tennyson…."
Sandra smiled. "Like your grandmother Ruby…"
He nodded.
Ester sat with Ben. "That's a beautiful name, baby…"
"And we can call her Evie, for short." Attea beamed.
The others smiled in agreement and sat down as well.
"I'll look through some old stuff and bring her some clothes. Maybe something of yours." Sandra suggested.
Ben nodded. "That's a great idea, mom. Thank you."
Sandra said goodbye to her son and left.
Evie looked at all the girls. "Are they my mothers?"
Ben looked at them for approval.
"Of course we are, little one." Looma said.
They all introduced themselves and Evie smiled.
*With Gwen and Kevin*
Gwen was eating pickle pizza for dinner as she had a huge craving for it while Kevin was eating pepperoni.
The sorceress moaned as she ate. "This is sooo delicious!!"
"I don't see what the whole thing is with pickle cravings. Ben had it when Big Chill had babies and now you." Kevin replied as he ate his pizza.
Gwen shrugged. "I guess it's in our blood." She bit into the pizza.
At that moment, a purple portal opened and from it….
Came Charmcaster. She looked almost the same as she did when they last saw her. Except her ears were more pointed and she looked a bit more sane.
Since their last encounter, Gwen had set her free and they made peace with each other. They became somewhat best friends, but haven't seen each other for some time.
Gwen got up and smiled. "Hope, I wasn't expecting you here." She held her belly.
"I know, Gwendolyn. I've been meaning to visit, but I got so busy." The two hugged.
Kevin got Hope a chair and the trio talked.
Gwen finally asked. "So, what's the occasion for the visit?"
Hope sighed. "Well there's something that is… happening...something that affects Leger Domain AND the universe itself."
"What do you mean?" Kevin asked.
Hope pulled something from her bag. She cast an incantation and it began to show them Vilgax's operation.
The couple listened as Hope began to explain. "Vilgax is trying to bring back a dead celestial. One who has existed long before the Dagon."
Gwen asked. "What was it called?"
"It's name was Therax. Eons ago, it roamed the galaxy looking for dying stars to consume. Eventually it was only stopped because it starved."
Kevin watched the vision. "What is Squidface doing?"
"From what I can gather, he's trying to reactivate this creature. How he intends to use it, I can't say." The sorceress explained.
Gwen replied. "We have to warn Grandpa Max. If this thing is a serious threat, we need to prepare."
Hope nodded. "And until we solve this crisis, I will be in Bellwood."
"Do you have a place to stay?" Gwen asked.
"I'll figure something out." Hope said.
"Well for tonight you can stay here. Kevin will set the guest room." Gwen smiled.
Kevin sighed and went to set it up.
Hope smiled back. "Thank you. I promise to not be a burden while I'm here."
"You're never a burden. It's always great to have my best friend over." Gwen replied.
She led Hope to the guest room.
*Back at Ben's*
Shar came home after a long day. When she went upstairs, she saw the girls at one of the bedroom doors. She peaked in and saw an adorable sight.
Ben was singing a lullaby to the little girl. She was all cuddled up asleep.
So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl…
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough…
Evie was fast asleep and Ben tucked her in, kissing her forehead and left the room. He gently closed the door.
Julie smiled. "That was so adorable."
"Who knew you were dad material, Benny~" Attea giggled.
"I'm very confused. Who is that?" Shar replied.
Ben sighed. "It's a long story." He explained it to her as they all went downstairs.
Days later, Ben had returned to the base, Evie on his shoulders. She was freaked out by the teleporter, but Shar and Helen helped keep her calm.
Ben was out for a few days to get the little one settled. New clothes, a room set-up with proper bedding, toys. The whole kit and kaboodle.
He also took her around, introducing her to his friends and family. Safe to say everyone loved her.
And boy, was she spoiled rotten by her mothers and grandparents.
Ben was so happy she was settling in and took her to the base to get her checked out.
While the medic was examining her and Helen was holding her hand, Shar asked to speak with Ben privately.
The two went to a private room and Shar began. "Ben…lately you have been good to me. You let me stay at your home, you trained with me and have done more for me than anyone besides my family…"
Ben smiled. "Well, you're one of my friends and…I want you to be taken care of."
"To pay you back, I would like to take you for dinner." She smiled.
"Wait, you mean like-"
Shar nodded. "A…date. I think it is a great way to pay you back. Tonight?"
Ben nodded. "I'll talk to the girls and…"
Shar raised her hand. "I have already talked to them about it. They are in agreement. We will go out and they will watch Evelyn." She smiled.
"Well…okay then. Does seven sound good?" Ben asked.
Shar nodded. "Yes." She had a smile.
Ben smiled back. "Great!! See you then!!!"
*Later that evening*
Ben and Shar were getting ready for the date. Ben was dressed in a black button up and some chino pants, with a pair of brown loafers.
Shar had on a red dress and was applying red lipstick to match.
Ben looked at her and she was truly stunning. He was truly just in shock…
Shar looked over, giggling slightly. "I guess that means you approve."
Ben snapped out of it. "You're beautiful, Shar."
"You look very handsome as well." She smiled back.
The two finished up and made their way downstairs. Julie was currently out, visiting her parents. Ester was folding the laundry, Attea was dusting the end tables, Looma was preparing dinner for herself and the girls. Helen was washing the dishes that Looma made dirty as she cooked, giving her a glare. And sweet little Evie was coloring quietly in her coloring book using EVERY SINGLE color on the poor polar bear, kicking her little feet back and forth.
Ben said. "We'll be back later. If anything happens, you all have my number. And if Evie can't sleep, she has a favorite story she likes me to read to her . It's the Tale of…" He went through the list, but Attea grabbed it and said. "Hon, you need to relax. She's our daughter too. We got this." She smiled as she kissed his forehead. "Enjoy your dinner, but don't forget about the desserts."
Ben nodded and finished his goodbyes. Evie hugged her fathers leg. "I love you, daddy!!"
Ben smiled. "Love you too, lovebug. Be good for your mothers." He hugged her.
The two left to go to the restaurant. When they arrived, they sat down and ordered their drinks. The place served items for both humans and aliens alike.
Ben got a strawberry daiquiri and Shar got an Amber Ogia Splash.
The waiter came up. It was a Loboan male.
He asked. "Any appetizers?"
Ben nodded. "Yes, we would like the oysters and perhaps some Zygerian shrimps."
The waiter nodded. "It'll be right out." He went to put the order in.
Ben and Shar talked about their pasts and childhoods. He told her a lot of stories, about how he once saved a town from Nosedeenians, how he had to fight a robot programmed to counter his aliens and also about his family.
Shar ate a piece of shrimp and sighed. "If only I was that interesting…my childhood was very boring…until you came along, it was simple."
Ben touched her hand. "Well…now you can make some new memories…exciting ones."
Shar smiled and then said. "You know…there was another reason I asked to take you to dinner…"
The hero nodded as he listened.
"I…want to be a part of your family...to love you as they do…" She admitted.
Ben blushed. "You...love me?"
She nodded. "Ever since I saw you, I have had feelings for you, but your attitude has deflected me…only recently it came back and…if you do not want me, I understand…"
"What do you mean? Of course I do. I've had some feelings for you…and I see this as a chance to see if it works…I'd be happy to include you." He smiled.
Shar looked into his loving green eyes, with him looking back into her orange and yellow ones.
The two embraced in a passionate kiss, letting their feelings come out.
When they separated, they had nothing, but love in their eyes.
They sat down and the entrees came out. The rest of the dinner went well, the new couple sharing glances and teases.
Kevin and Gwen were also there, but kept their distance, giving the new couple some privacy. However they were also taking mental notes to tease Ben later.
Kevin asked. "We're definitely going to tease him with this, aren't we?"
"Oh you betcha." Gwen smirked, taking a bite of her lasagna.
Ben held Shar's hand as they enjoyed dessert. After that, the hero paid, got some dessert to go and left. But not before Ben left a tip.
The couple went home and when they entered the door, the girls were waiting.
Ester asked. "So?"
Ben nodded.
The Krahho smirked at Attea. "Pay up, Empress~"
Attea rolled her eyes and gave Ester a 20.
Looma clapped her hands excitedly. "A new member of the family!! This is so sweet!!"
Helen smiled. "You're gonna fit in well, Shar."
Julie said. "You're in great hands!!"
Shar smiled back. "Thank you...I promise to do well."
Ben put the desserts on the table and the girls enjoyed themselves.
Gwen's Hideout*
Hope was looking over incantations and old myths when something caught her eye. "Wait…what's this?"
It was about a hidden power that was so strong, it could rival gods. It was one only a master could wield that had perfect DNA.
"This could work..." Hope said. "I have to talk to Ben's master. It could be our one shot!!" She got up and ran out.
But she didn't read the fine print…
It could also corrupt the user…but would it corrupt Ben?
Time will tell…
