"So Eri are you thinking of going to U.A or pursuing a career in music" one of her friends asked
"Not sure really" she replied
In the nine years that had passed since she had been saved by Izuku, Mirio, and the others. There have been a lot of things that have happened to her over that time. She wanted to be like Izuku and Mirio who saved her even when she rejected them. She wanted to help those who helped her more directly rather than just giving them support from the sidelines even if that support helped them massively. Being able to stand alongside them rather than just watching them from afar was something she always thought about at various times. To relive that moment when she helped Izuku finally defeat Overhaul after learning that her Quirk could be used to help people if she just learned to look at it from a different light.
"Probably ended up visiting at least one of their satellites from time to time," another friend said
U.A was still the main school however in the war various satellites were developed for a number of reasons and purposes. To ensure the lessons learned before, during, and after the Final War were not forgotten. The standards that U.A adopted were spread out across the country and places that accepted them were now considered U.A satellites as a result. The reason Eri would probably be going to one is that her Quirk was something she was still in the process of learning to master herself. Even nine years later after she first learned what it truly was, she still had to learn how to use it more effectively.
This would lead to another route that she might end up taking as all the time she spent with Eraserhead learning to just use her quirk when she could not even properly use it back then. Even have to resort to literally breaking her horn like that one time.
Her friends noticed she was touching her horn which she did only when she was thinking about that time.
"Say Eri did it hurt when you did that" a friend asked
"Would not lie and say no but it was the price I was willing to pay back then. Deku and the other always put themselves through so much more than what I did" Eri replies.
Thus rather than being a Pro Hero like them she could instead strive to become someone who would be the help they needed in controlling a Quirk that while it did not need to cause them as much trouble as her Rewind did. The act of just being there and supporting them every step of the way to them being able to properly use their Quirk. That would be what she could do as she could do for others what they did for her.
"Eri has a lovely singing voice as she could probably become a successful musical artist" another friend stated
This was the path that did not involve being a Pro Hero or having something related to do with Quirks directly. The path that she was introduced to first during the very first U.A School Festival that she went to. The things she recalled most were the candy apples and the music performance that she said that day. It felt like even though she had been saved she was saved now. It was as she watched that performance that it all really truly sunk in and she realized that she was truly and completely free no longer bound by what happened in the past. She could not forget the past but she could not let it consume her present nor her future either. Thus she started taking lessons from Jiro after the Final War. Wanting to perform and feel how things were to be on stage directly rather than just watching someone in the crowd do it.
However, as Eri and her friend continued talking about the possible futures that they started to pursue once they eventually made it into high school. That is when there is a sudden bright light that flashes and in an instant, everything goes dark for Eri and her friends. They were unaware that this flash of light had just happened without warning from their point of view. This was the light that petrified 80% of the people on the planet that possessed a Quirk meaning that Eri and her friends were now just statues. Statues that were caught discuss futures that have now been cut off to them as they just stood there motionless and unable to do anything but just remain still. The only movement on their bodies was the wind hussling their clothing which was unaffected as this light only petrified people with Quirk directly.
