How bittersweet mortality shall be
If I allow your retribution stake
To pierce my heart and let my soul go free
Toward fresh bodies that have yet to wake.
In other lives, we won't be bound by chains
You've conjured in the spirit of revenge —
You'll have a family to soothe your pains
While I'll be spared from funerals of friends.
Imagine all the harmony of homes
With spouses sharing literary zeal:
We'll fill our minds with teachings of old tomes,
Our bellies with a hearty Kurtan meal.
Reincarnation is the remedy
For brooks of blood dividing you and me.
