Remember when the world was not restrained
To four walls painted blue and meals in trays
Supplied by butlers with expressions pained
From learning your rare talents to erase.
In memories, the skies are infinite,
And brothers sit around the banquet spread.
Their limbs are warm instead of cotton-fit;
Their voices real and not inside your head.
Your wishes once flowed lavish, but the well
Has since dried with no willing ears to heed.
Now years have passed within this lonely cell,
Some company unstuffed is all you need.

Until the needle drops and shackles end,
Your pale reflection is your only friend.
