Gon and Killua finally get to learn Ryu, with Raphael being their personal punching bag.
"Let's start off simple, boys… Ken." As the boys showed off their skills, Bisky directed Raphael to remain still. As much as she wanted to test the teen's capabilities, this was a training exercise aimed at Gon and Killua mainly. If they were going to move on to the next step, she'd need them to be at a sufficient level. She observed their strength.
She was happy with their current levels. It far surpassed their skill when they first started training, "Good. Using your current state as an example, picture your attack power and defence at fifty per cent, respectively. If you were to fight each other while using Ken, neither of you would be able to deal much damage to each other."
Her smile grew, "What would you do in this situation?"
Gon stuck up his hand before Killua or Raphael could say anything "Use Ko!"
Without missing a beat, Bisky smacked the boy across the head, "You idiot! Are you trying to get yourself killed again? If they aim for anywhere other than your Ko, it'll be an instant death!"
Gon massaged the new bruise. He thought Ko would be the best way to combat Ken. What was that saying again? The best defence is a good offence…
"You would use Gyo then…" Killua interjected. Although he was a little unsure if that would be considered the best method. Ken mixed with Gyo could be considered taxing on their aura reserves. But after all those number-guessing games with Bisky, he supposes it'll be much easier to use carelessly.
"Yes!" Bisky beamed brightly. At least one of them had their thinking cap on "Correct!"
As Killua grew smug at her response, Gon's expression deflated.
Bisky moved into a stance that would best show what she was trying to present. Her aura shifted, moving at an even pace "From your current fifty-fifty state, try to imagine at the very moment of your next attack…" The older woman manipulated her aura, refocusing most of her aura into a single fist. With this, the rest of the aura surrounding her body decreased in size "You shift your fist to seventy POW. The rest of your body will decrease to thirty POW. For this, you'll need to use Gyo to alter your POW. Of course, this will depend entirely on your situation. A more professional Nen practitioner will be able to adjust the levels on the fly. Sometimes it would be best to focus your aura on three points, rather than just two. Say if you were planning on hitting someone as they were about to attack you."
She showed an example, shifting the focus to empower her body, she weakened a select few random areas. She was demonstrating the opposite on purpose.
"Oh, that's like my fight with the Dullahan!"
"Exactly!" Bisky smiled widely, "This is Ryu!" Refocusing her aura, she shifted to empower her fist.
She stared at the two boys "This is where Raphael will be able to help you."
"Training dummy…?" He didn't even need to see her nod. He knew deep down this was probably for the best… at least for Gon and Killua, not so much for him. He doesn't know how having to block Gon and Killua as they're practising Ren is supposed to help him.
But Bisky has a strange way of training people… that's for certain.
"But first, we need to practice. I don't want to have any accidents during training. We start off simple. Right hand seventy POW, the rest of your body to thirty POW. You don't have to be precise; I just want you to try to do it to the best of your ability."
"Osu!
She made call after call, the boys following her commands to the best of their ability.
"~"
The boys panted, breathing heavily after their strenuous workout. It was hard trying to shift their aura constantly to match her request one after another.
Bisky's smile grew. They did a pretty decent job on their first attempt. They were well within a margin of error, at least for their first try "You'll do this for thirty minutes, three times a day. This will be added to your current training menu. Also…"
Killua was mortified. She was planning on adding more to their endless list of requests. How much was she planning on giving them to do?
"We'll begin sparring now." Bisky gestured to Raphael to come forward, "If you want to learn how to improve not only how to better manage your connection with your Mirage, this is going to help you with En. It'll push your skills with Gyo and Ryu to the limit. Boys, we're going to start with a low bar. Like I said, Raphael will be your personal punching bag."
"Wonderful…"
"Hush, this is to help you. I promise. Using Gyo, I want you to limit how much aura you're outputting with each blow. Raphael is going to estimate that amount and block using his own matching aura level. I want you both to start slow because I'm expecting him to block both of you at the same time."
Raphael's eyes widened "Wait, at the same time? I don't have that much aura!"
"Would you please let me finish explaining everything BEFORE you start complaining?" Although the teen pouts, he relents "Good. I want both of you to limit your maximum to sixty per cent… at least at the start. As you get more comfortable with each other, I will ease up on that rule."
Bisky pointed at the two younger boys "This is a rule specific to you two. While I expect Raphael to gauge your Gyo, I expect you to do the same for each other. If Killua's strength is higher. Gon, I expect yours to be lower. If both of you are consistently aiming high, I WILL knock you out. This isn't a competition to see who can beat Raphael. It's a training exercise on control…"
"When all three of you have gotten better at reading each other, then and only then will I remove the restriction. But even then, I expect you to have a total maximum of ninety per cent limit between the two of you. This is to stop Raphael from being put in a position where he'll be unable to block you two at the same time. Do I make myself clear?"
"Osu!"
"Good, let's start small as a first attempt." Bisky Gestured to Gon, "You go first. Killua, once he's about to attack, you can go next. We'll keep this constant cycle up until all three of you have better control over Gyo."
Gon controlled his POW, aiming for something much lower, around forty per cent.
Raphael brought up his hand in preparation for Gon's right hand.
Right as Raphael blocked, Killua aimed for much higher, around fifty-five per cent.
Raphael brought up his leg in preparation to block Killua's kick.
"You need to watch your friend, Gon. Killua, Gon, keep going, you're doing good for a first attempt. Maintain this level of trust. Oh, and make sure you continue to gauge your friend's level."
The three continued to bounce off one another, trying to match their strength. Once Raphael blocked one, he moved on to the other, gauging their strength before trying to match theirs.
Honestly, he thought he'd have an easier time. He felt, considering their competitiveness, the two would bounce at a mid-range level range of aura so that he'd only have to shift his level of POW by a small margin. That wasn't the case.
While Gon aimed for much lower numbers most of the time, Killua stayed in the fifties range.
He dreads to think what it would be like once Bisky eases up on the restriction. He knows she will eventually set a maximum of ninety per cent, but if Killua keeps going in the higher range, he dreads to think what it would be like if Gon decides to aim for the same area and he's suddenly forced to drop his POW by a huge margin.
He probably guesses this is all a part of Bisky's plan… and if it gets out of hand, she'll step in to stop it. Hopefully…
"~"
Bisky eyed the teens by inspecting their ability. Raphael seemed to be doing well on his own, blocking each boy without an issue. He seems to be skilled enough with Gyo. His Ryu was also on par with a budding Pro Hunter. He's by no means a master, but if one day she found out he was, she wouldn't be too surprised.
Another thing to consider was whether this sort of training would help him with his issues with En, or would this be considered a detriment? If it does turn out to be the latter, she'll investigate by trying to find something else the boy could do to help with his training.
But at least this will help him train in one department, which should in theory help with his issues with the control. If he can manage to block one boy after another by training himself to manipulate his aura to block Gon and Killua in rapid succession… He should be able to stop himself from pulling away from his En field every time he tries to attack or defend.
If not, at least it'll push him by a fraction towards his end goal. Eventually, he should be able to get the hang of things.
Her eyes moved to the two younger boys. Namely, accessing how Raphael works with one of them at least. For Raphael and Killua. Even though Killua was attacking ruthlessly, they were very compatible. The margin of error between them was within a one per cent acceptable rate.
If she lets the two of them go at it, they may walk away with a few bruises but they'll push each other to absurd levels.
As for Gon and Raphael, even though Gon has a simplistic nature, Raphael is struggling to identify his POW for some weird reason. He's still within a five per cent gap, which is good, but that's still not as good as he is with Killua.
Maybe closer towards the end once they've gotten used to each other, she'll switch it up so they can attack whoever.
It'll give Raphael some practice with attacking, rather than being forced to always be on the defence. At the same time, it can give all three boys time to get used to each other's strengths and weaknesses, rather than relying on one person to be their only form of training.
"~"
The three had already been going at it for an hour now. She didn't stop them at the thirty-minute mark, since they were so heavily invested in training.
It was good because it gave her a good amount of time to assess their flaws.
If they keep this up daily, at least for about a month, they'll be able to fight at full speed while using Ryu… Her eyes glimmered at the prospect. Without Raphael's help, she could've seen it within two months. They have that kind of respect for each other, an understanding of how they move and act.
But given that Raphael has a better understanding of Ryu than them, maybe she can push the three of them to learn faster than she would've anticipated, "Change of plans. When one starts moving the other can. Provided you give Raphael ample time to react to your attack, I'll allow it."
"Osu!"
Once they're done with this, it'll be time for the final stage.
"~"
It had been a few weeks since the three had begun training, the trio already being pushed towards attacking each other rather than one of them. She made the right move. The margin of error had reduced between Gon and Raphael.
But what's even better, by shifting to a three-way training regime, they've vastly grown in such a short time frame. She had estimated that it would take at least a month.
It's only been two weeks and the time between each strike went from a solid ten-second gap to a split-second decision. Their eyes darted between each other, watching the adjustment happen in real-time while adjusting their own to match their current defender.
They were even ignoring the restriction, always attacking between sixty to ninety of their POW. This forced them to adjust and control so they could shift from defence to offence without one of the boys having to wait too long for their turn.
What was even better, was the shift between attacker and defender didn't matter. It wasn't like a game of tag where whoever had to defend last, was it… or in their case, attacking next. One of them could be forced to block twice in a row, or they could've attacked twice in a row.
They gave each other a nice balance of defence and offence where nobody was forced to defend themselves for large chunks of their training.
Raphael felt himself sandwich between the two for a split second, both Killua and Gon accidentally targeting him at the last second. Both had a high range, not something he could've easily blocked on his own.
The two realised their mistake, unable to change their trajectory.
He moved closer to Killua, blocking his attack first. Sure, blocking Gon first would've been the better option, but Killua could've changed his impact at the last second. If he blocks Killua first, he'll have ample time to adjust and block Gon.
There was a rapid attack in succession, Raphael letting out a loud groan as he shook the hand he used to block Gon.
"Ah, are you okay Raphael?"
"Yeah…" The teen continued to shake his affected hand, "It felt like when my dad would smack my hand with a wooden spoon whenever I tried to sneak into the kitchen for a quick snack before dinner. An instant, zero warning, WHACK. Always across the hand too."
The two boys chuckled, Gon nodding along "Mito would do that too. It was always the wooden spoon…"
Killua felt like he couldn't relate. Except for that one-time Mito did it to him. He's experienced much worse than a wooden spoon. But surprisingly, it still hurts.
"Alright, alright boys." Bisky waved off their small fits of laughter "Let's stop for a real break."
"Osu!"
The three found themselves smiling, idly chatting away as Bisky's silence gave them time to talk.
Bisky held up a finger while they were distracted, shifting the aura along her fingertip to create a single digit "It appears-"
"Number seven!"
"Drop and give me a thousand Gon and Killua. Raphael was quicker." The two groaned, the older woman smiling "Now that's out of the way. You're ready for the final stage."
The three boys looked at each other in confusion, "Collecting all one hundred cards?"
"Nope. You will begin training in the individual categories."
That was by far the weirdest part of their training. What did Bisky mean by their individual categories? "Do I have to train in my specific category?"
"I'm pretty sure what I have planned for that, you'll ace it with ease. But effectively, yes. You'll be training in most of the categories. Enhancement, Transmutation, Emission, Conjuration and finally Manipulation. We'll be skipping Specialization for obvious reasons." Bisky raised her finger once again.
"Three!"
"Nice, a draw." Bisky split her fingers to point at Gon and Killua, "You're free to train solely in your own category. But first, I'll need a list." She turned to Gon first, "What category do you belong to?"
"Enhancer!"
She glanced over to the other, "And you?"
"Transmuter."
"Hey, what do you know we're Nen neighbours. I'm an Emitter."
Bisky gave a nod, "This will make it easy. In the case of an Enhancer…" She pointed a single finger to Gon, "You'd want to focus on your Enhancer skills while training the nearby categories, Transmuter and Emitter in a balanced fashion. By doing this it'll help you master your own category faster. For Raphael, it'll be Emission, Manipulation and Enhancer. For Killua-"
"Nine!"
"Another draw." Bisky dropped her hand. She'll eventually catch them off guard "For Killua it's going to be Transmutation, Enhancer and Conjuration." That was her basic variation, but she wanted to go further than that. They shouldn't limit their training to their opposite categories. Especially someone like Raphael, who does use Transmutation with his abilities. They should be training in the categories furthest from them as well. But Gon was in a nice position, whereas Killua and Raphael weren't. Specialization isn't something that could be practised.
Gon's opposite was Specialization, which will always be at zero per cent. But for Raphael, his opposite was Conjuration, whereas Killua's was Manipulation. For them, their lowest proficiency was forty per cent not including Specialization, whereas Gon was sixty.
So how she'll need to train them would be different, "But we're not going to stop with your side categories. You will be training the ones furthest from you as well. In Gon's case, Manipulation and Conjuration. Killua is Emission and Manipulation. Raphael's will be Transmutation and Conjuration. Now how we'll do this is by compatibility. Gon, yours will be much different to Killua and Raphael because you have much better compatibility than they do. Your opposite is Specialization, whereas theirs is Manipulation for Killua and Conjuration for Raphael."
She directed her hand to Gon, "You will do Enhancement, Emission, Transmutation. You'll repeat those three, then do Manipulation and Conjuration. For Killua…" She directed her hand to the boy in question, "He has his main Transmutation, he'll do his two side categories. He'll repeat those three, then include Emission. He'll repeat the four, then include Manipulation."
Moving her hand, she directed her attention to Raphael, "You'll have a similar method. Except for you, it'll be the three, then Transmutation; the four, then Conjuration. You'll repeat the cycle of training. Three, four then five, or in Gon's case, his is three then five. I will show you what we'll be doing for each category. First, we'll start off with one everyone will be doing…"
Leaning down, Bisky picked up a couple of small rocks. She stood once more when she had a small pile in her hands "Enhancer training."
Using her aura, she reshaped a large rock into a small table, dropping the rocks beside the makeshift table. Taking a seat, she grabbed two rocks, placing one on the table "This is level one training, smashing rocks. The objective is simple. You crush them like this."
Showing an example, she crushed the rock on the table, the one in her palm remaining intact "Smash a hundred rocks in a row without breaking yours. To master this level, you need to learn to smash at least a thousand with a single stone in a day. Let's begin."
The three sat down at their respective table, performing the task one after another.
Raphael thought it was relatively easy, it was just a matter of applying Shu to the rock. The problem was once they got into the swing of things. Keeping that momentum was difficult as it was quite draining on their aura reserves.
Gon's crumbled right as he was about to start swinging "Oops, it crumbled…"
Bisky shook her head, "If the stone in your hand breaks, it's over."
"Damn!" Gon whined. Even though he was supposed to be more proficient in Enhancement, he was the first one to go out.
Killua smashed his rock, both crumbling away at the same time. Killua blinked owlishly from the action. The realisation of what had transpired, just hit him "Ah…" He brought his hands to his hair, scrunching it in frustration "Damn it, I failed!"
Bisky frowned. Killua did better than Gon, "What are you complaining about-" She heard the unmistakable sound of two rocks crumbling "You're out too, Raphael."
"Shit…"
"You three did great on your first try."
"Okay!" Killua jumped up "Let's do Transmutation training next."
"There's no need to rush. We'll be limiting it to one category per day. This is so you'll never be pushing your body past the limits and your training can always start at square one. Once I've introduced each category to you, you will follow the regime I gave to you." She raised her finger once more.
"Six!"
"It's a draw…"
Killua whined, "Come on, we've been drawing non-stop for the last three."
"This proves you're growing accustomed to using Gyo on instinct."
Even though it was good news, Killua didn't like that answer. They liked the thrill of the challenge, the expectation of beating each other even if it's only by a split second "But if there's no winner, it's no fun…"
"Yeah!" Gon piped up, "Bisky, surely one of us was off by a second. Who was the slowest?"
"You were equal."
"How about rock paper scissors? The loser does a thousand push-ups."
"There's three of us… Unless one loses to both in the same round, it's kind of difficult."
"Hmm…" Gon pondered it for a moment, "The loser is the one with the least wins. So, the worst of two?"
"You're on!" Killua prepared his fist, the two chanting one after another. Raphael and Bisky awkwardly watched the two go at it, drawing multiple times in a row.
Eventually, Gon was the winner. He managed to knock Killua's scissors out with a rock "I win!"
"NO! Raphael, I'll beat you!"
Bisky giggled when Killua lost in the first round, Killua dropping to the floor out of shame and frustration "Damn it…"
They were such carefree kids, putting themselves in embarrassing situations just to prove they were the strongest. She supposes that is better. A little bit of Gon and Killua has rubbed off on Raphael, he was no longer trying to compare himself or acting like he's the better of the three. He sees his flaws and is willing to acknowledge them. Still, it was funny a childish game is what sealed the boy's unfortunate fate. "Did you know… the theory that rock-paper-scissors began in martial arts?"
Bisky held out her palm, "Paper represents a palm attack that wrecks the opponent's organs." She closed her fingers, presenting claws that were closed into not quite a fist "Scissors represent a finger jab, targeting vital points." Closing her hand entirely, "With rock represented by a punch, a way to deal external damage." She pulled back her hand to smile at the three, "Long ago, when martial arts were mistaken as purely destructive and banned as an evil art, martial artists trained by playing this game. And that's how rock-paper-scissors came to be."
"Wow…" Killua stood up, "You must be really old to know that."
One second Killua was standing behind her, the next he was gone. There were only two things that gave away what happened. Bisky's clenched fist, a single eye twitching out of anger, and the sound of Killua screaming into the distance.
Both Gon and Raphael's eyes glimmered for different reasons. For Raphael, it's a part of something he wants to do in life. To collect information. He loves to hear about history and to learn about things out of curiosity. He wouldn't mind spending the rest of his life searching for hidden history; learning about things that humanity has yet to discover… or rediscover if it's been buried.
Gon's reaction was more of an idea popping up from the example being given by Bisky. It's what he wants to do when it comes to training his Hatsu "That's it!"
The three were confused. They had no idea what Gon was thinking about. All they knew was something Bisky said made him excited. Not even the act of looking at his fist gave away what he was thinking.
"Evil Fist."
Bisky stared blankly at Gon for a few seconds. What was he planning to do with his so-called Evil Fist "What are you thinking of, Gon?"
"Bisky, can you tell me if this is a good idea? But first I'm going to need a really big rock." Gon made a wide gesture with his hands, demonstrating how big he needed the rock to be.
Raphael looked to Killua, the boy nursing his abnormally large bruise. There's a reason none of them should joke about Bisky's age… Killua just refuses to learn that lesson.
He mouths the words 'Do you know?' to the boy, hoping he knows what Gon is going on about. The boy merely shakes his head in response. None of them knew what Gon was planning to show, much less had an idea about what Evil Fist was about.
"~"
Gon stood before the rock, his aura flowing calmly around his body. From every explanation he's gotten about Nen, it's mainly about mentally recreating one's ability with vows and limitations.
What he wants to do is recreate the game of rock-paper-scissors, as an attack.
He focused on his understanding of the game, chanting the mantra "First comes Rock!" Aura flowed from his body to his fist, the same way as he would do it through Ko.
But unlike Ko, his aura remained the same, only amassing around his fist, the 'rock', "Paper…" Aura around his fist glowed a bright yellow. It continued to condense as more aura was funnelled into his fist.
"Rock!" Gon slammed his fist into the boulder, the aura he had been amassing exploding outward. Cracks formed from the centre of the impact outward, fracturing the rock until it exploded into pieces.
He took Bisky's explanation, literally. 'With rock represented by a punch, a way to deal external damage'. The rock had ruptured from the inside out.
That's what it looked like to Raphael. What was more likely the case, was the attack caused the initial impact to collapse inward before the concentration of what had condensed, exploded outward.
Killua and Raphael were impressed.
With one example, she could understand everything the boy wanted to do "I see."
Gon punched his fist into his other palm, giddy with excitement "Here comes the next one!" Gon moved into his stance, "First comes Rock! Rock… paper…" He held out his palm in anticipation "Paper!"
Everyone waited, expecting something grandiose to happen.
Gon awkwardly turned to face the others "Um…" The boy awkwardly giggled from his predicament, "Bisky, Raphael… How exactly do I make my Nen fly?"
The trio fell over in shock. It's to be expected, but given that he's seen Raphael do it a couple of times now, he should have an idea.
"You train more!" Bisky fumed from the situation.
Raphael had a different response, "There's multiple ways you can-"
As Gon's ears started to sizzle, Raphael grew a little annoyed at the situation. He hadn't even made his point and Gon was already thinking of every possible way to make his Nen fly "I haven't even said anything!"
"You started off the sentence with 'there's multiple ways'. That gave him too many ideas…" Killua retorted back at the teen who was annoyed at his best friend, "You ask him how you envision him shooting it."
"Envision…?" Gon's brain started to sizzle once more, smoke pouring out of his ears.
"Jeez, you're being dramatic." Raphael found himself breaking into a genuine smile, "Given Rock, I think you'd want to imagine the aura exploding outward. Less like a water gun, and more like… a ball bouncing off your palm."
"Thanks for that, Raphael."
"No problems. That leaves scissors, right?"
"Yup!" Gon swings his fingers around, "They'll cut through anything."
Killua hummed at the idea, "Rock is an Enhancer. Paper is Emitter and that leaves Scissors to be a Transmuter technique. Sounds well-rounded. What do you think, Bisky?"
"Sounds like a reasonable fighting technique…" She flashed the boys a smile. But she felt differently about Gon's ability. It was childish… Basic, and childish. But from most of the Enhancers, she knew that tended to be their motto. Basic, but effective.
"Oh!" Gon smiled brightly, "I even thought about the time it takes me to prepare my attack. You know how long it takes time to focus Nen into my fist? I was trying to think of a good way to spend my time. When you were talking about rock-paper-scissors, it hit me. I could use it as my power-up mantra."
"So, you yelling out what you throw is your attack, correct?"
"Yeah…"
"If you yell something else, that would make it a Manipulator technique." Raphael grins, casually joking about the possibility. He knows the boy will need more than that to create a variation of a manipulator's technique that flows well with the Rock-Paper-Scissors idea, "Although that would be taking it literary, considering the manipulation is just you saying you're going to hit them with Rock, only to launch a long range attack in their direction. Dunno what you could do for Conjuration. Oh, you could technically use Paper for Transmutations. Paper can, cut too. A slice thin enough to carve through them like in those movie scenes where someone slices through a target so fast, there's a delay before they dismembered."
"Oh, that would be super cool!" Gon flings his finger through the air, pretending he was performing the task flawlessly.
"Or, you can use paper in a more literal manner. Like a magician would use a handkerchief to hide something before throwing it up into the air to reveal nothing. You instead cover the target with a coating of aura, as though you were throwing a sheet of paper over them. From there, you would change the properties of the weight of the aura, increasing it over time until it eventually crushes them."
Raphael mentioning a magician made them think about Hisoka while they were at Heaven's arena. How the man used his handkerchief to turn his dismembered hand into cards. They never did figure out how he reattached his arm… but Hisoka tended to argue that his aura was the properties of both rubber and gum.
"What do you think, Bisky?!" Gon got a little too excited about that idea. If he thinks about it for long enough, he could come up with an idea for every category.
"Slow down boys. Maybe hold off on the ideas a little… Trusting your instincts is important, but your gut plays a huge role in techniques that cover different categories." Bisky pressed a finger into the boy's chest, "If you can't see yourself pulling off the idea, neither the Manipulator nor those ideas for Paper would work. The key is it needs to feel right for you." She pulled away her finger.
Since Gon showed off his new technique, and Raphael has already displayed his abilities multiple times, that left Killua. With a cough, he drew the other's attention.
He pressed his fingers together, envisioning his ability. It crackled between his palms, tiny blue sparks going off. As he drew his fingers away his aura crackled like energy, electricity firing between fingertips as though an electric circuit was being completed.
His hair stood erect, eyes glimmering once he earned Gon's attention.
"Wow! That's amazing Killua!"
Killua stopped his technique abruptly, Gon was so willing to praise his abilities no matter what. His cheeks and ears flushed red from the compliment, "Stop being a weirdo! In- In any case…" He scratched away at his cheek, "It's all I can muster up right now. But if I were to charge myself up, it would be pretty, strong."
"That makes you like… like…" Gon thought about it for a moment, a thumb pressed to his chin. Then it hit him, "Like a battery!"
"That's the worst comparison you could make…"
"To be fair…" Raphael pointed at Killua, "He'd be more like a Tesla Coil."
"A what…?" Gon was dumbfounded. He didn't know what a Tesla Coil was.
"Oi, Gon. Just imagine a large metal rod that produces static electricity. The kind you see during a thunderstorm."
"That's really cool!"
The three continued to talk about their situation, coming up with new ideas that Gon and Killua could use to their advantage.
However, none had seen Bisky's expression. The sadness in her eyes as she looked at Killua. Considering what he could do at such a young age… he had a tragic background. She was glad that he was not only able to smile, but the three were able to talk about the situation without realising how much pain Killua would've gone through to produce that ability.
And if they do…
That means they never want to remind Killua about his painful history. They only want to look forward, creating new memories for the boy to cherish.
With a clap, she drew the boy's attention, "Alright, we should take a long break after those demonstrations. It is a little early, but we could have a party."
"A party?" Killua and Gon were both confused.
Raphael mentally recalculated the date, "Oh, drat… we missed out on Christmas. It's almost the new year!"
"Correct! Time flows at the same speed in the game as the real world."
"Oops!" Gon panicked, grasping onto Killua's shoulder "The deadline for the Hunter's exam is coming up!"
"Aww…" Gon just had to remember that tiny detail. He didn't mind if he missed out because honestly, Bisky's new train exercises felt more fun than having to go out of his way to complete the Hunter's exam by himself "and I was starting to have fun with these new training exercises."
"If memory serves me…" Bisky was quick to point at Killua, "You need to apply by the end of the year."
"We need to hurry!" Gon started shoving Killua towards Masadora, "We need to find a way to-"
"Ahem…" Raphael cleared his throat, causing the two boys to pause, "What am I to you? Your personal training dummy?"
Killua tilts his head slightly in the teen's direction, flashing the boy a grin, "Well, yeah…"
Raphael rolled his eyes at the joke, "May I remind you, I met you when you were trying to amass funds to buy Greed Island… and to introduce you to Tsezgerra, as I was playing this game. That means I've left the game…" The boy paused for dramatic effect, holding up two fingers to make his point "TWICE. I know a thing or two about leaving this game."
"Really!" Gon ran up to Raphael, grasping his friend's hands, "Please tell us the quickest way!"
"First…" Raphael pushed the boy away, "We all smell like trash. We need a bath, and THEN, and only then will I show you the quickest way to leave the game."
Gon whined at the request. The year was almost over. Killua needs to apply as soon as he can, "But Killua needs to leave as soon as possible!"
"He'll be out of this game before the day ends. How about that?"
