Athena´s POV.
They all watched as Maddie lead Buck down the stairs, Athena couldn't help the mix of emotions running through her, on one side, she was thrilled to see Buck being back, but on the other side, she was heartbroken for him.
She sighed and looked over at her husband, who looked completely lost for words, staring at the floor.
"We need to come up with a plan." Hen said.
Chim nodded and went over to sit at the dining table, Hen followed and sat in front of him.
Bobby looked up from the floor at her, she smiled and gestured for them to join the other two at the table, Athena took the seat next to Hen and Bobby took the seat at end of the table with Chim and Hen on either side of him.
Athena looked back at the railing where Eddie was standing, leaning against it, out of everyone Eddie had been the one to react the worst to the news of Buck leaving, and Athena was worried about the man, she had seen firsthand just how destructive he could be. She hoped to never see that carnage again.
"Okay, so Buck is back." Chim said after a few minutes filled with silence.
Hen snorted "You don't say." She deadpanned "I thought it was a ghost who walked through those bay doors."
"If he was a ghost, he sure changed a lot in death." Chim said back.
Athena rolled her eyes at them, but kept her eyes on Eddie, she could practically hear the wheels turning in his head, he was looking up at the ceiling as if he was silently praying, and Athena wouldn't blame him one bit if that was what he was doing.
If she was honest with herself, she could do with some praying herself.
Eddie must have noticed her staring as he turned his head and looked at her, she gave him a small smile which he returned reluctantly, she then gestured for him to join them, he shook his head at that and just walked up to the table with his arms crossed.
"I know that it´s been nine years since we last saw him and that a lot of good, bad and ugly has happened since he left, but Maddie was right when she said this family hasn't been the same…." Hen started.
"He is the missing piece." Chim finished sheepishly.
They all turned around at the sound of someone snorting, "sorry to interrupt you little pity party over here." Charlotte said as she took a seat next to Chim with a smug smile and put a bag on the table.
Athena raised an eyebrow at the woman, she knew that Charlotte still carried a lot of resentment towards A-shift over what had happened with Buck, Athena knew the woman had tried multiple times to put in for a transfer but had been convinced every time to stay at the 118.
Charlotte had been a better friend to Buck then they, who called themselves his family had and had done everything in her power to protect him and get the justice he deserved from the people that harmed him, and that had included everyone on A-shift, which had been why Athena had always had an enormous amount of respect for her.
"Uh, Charlotte?" Bobby asked with a frown.
"Captain, I need to get this off my chest, and then I will let you return to your little…"
"Don't." Athena warned, having guessed that whatever it was she was about to say wouldn't have done any good.
Charlotte sighed "Okay then. Moving on. First of all, i want to say that if you break his heart one more time, I will personally make your lives a living hell." She said and raised her eyebrow at every single person around the table.
Athena smiled at the protectiveness, and she knew the woman had every intention of making it a reality if they were to screw up again.
"Secondly, I know that your first instinct is to give him space and let him come to you, because that´s what you would have done before. But that is honest to god, not what he needs right now. he needs for you all to come together and for you to take a bite of the sour apple and actually talk to him and show that you are serious."
Athena sucked in a breath, because Charlotte was right, her first instinct was to wrap the boy in bubble wrap and give him some peace and quiet, and looking around the room it was evident that she wasn't the only one thinking it. Everyone but Eddie nodded their heads to what Charlotte had said.
"But what if we just end up crowding him and putting too much on him too soon?" Bobby asked.
"Then he will tell you. He is a grown ass man, and he is not the same punk ass kid as he was nine years ago." Charlotte snapped "I'm sorry for snapping, but seriously, he needs you now more than ever, he doesn't need for you to go back to behaving like you all did nine years ago, that made him leave in the first place."
Athena nodded her head "You're right. And we will do everything we can to make all of this right, starting right now." she said.
Charlotte nodded "Good. Now the last thing." She said and stood up, she pointed at the bag "Buck left this here, I looked inside to see if it was anything he would miss until one of you idiots pulled your big people pants on and visited him, but it looks like its for you two" she finished by pointing at Bobby and then Athena.
Charlotte then left them and went downstairs. Athena reached over and looked inside the bag, the first thing she saw was a drawing, it was just doodles that didn't really look like anything, but something caught her attention, so she took it out of the bag and put it on the table to see the drawing properly.
At one corner there were something written in a kid´s handwriting.
To Grandpa Bobby and Grandma Athena! I love you!
She gasped at the words and covered her mouth with her hand, tears were starting to form in her eyes as she looked over at Bobby, he frowned at her expression and got up from his chair and stood behind her to look at the drawing. When he read the words, he looked down at her with a devastated smile to his lips. She smiled back and placed the drawing back in bag.
Chim took the bag and placed it on his lap "I´ll give it to Maddie later, so she can get it to Buck or give it to whoever Buck brought it for."
he took a deep breath and looked around at everyone and settled on Eddie.
"I know that this brings up a lot of mixed emotions for everyone, myself included. but from the look on Buck´s face today, he needs us. And to be honest we owe him to at least try." Bobby said.
"We all have to make an effort to earn his forgiveness." Hen said with a sad smile.
"earn his forgiveness?" Eddie asked with a wild look to his eyes, Athena had only seen it once before, when the man had showed up at her and Bobby´s doorstep after he had told Christopher of Buck leaving.
Eddie had broken down in Bobby´s arm and told them that Christopher had screamed at him and told his father how much he hated him for making Buck leave just like he had his mom. Eddie had been inconsolable that night.
"Eddie…" Bobby started.
"No! You might need to earn his forgiveness, but for me? For Christopher? He needs to earn ours too." Eddie said with a mixture of anger and sadness in his voice.
Athena put her hand on Bobby´s arm to stop him from saying anything further and got up from her chair and went over to grab his hand and pulled him away from the others to have a moment alone with him, she stood in front of Eddie, when she made eye contact with him, she took a deep breath.
"You´re right, he needs to work for your forgiveness, just as you need to work for his. No one is blaming you for being angry or upset with him, as you have every right to feel those things. But Eddie, you both heard and saw him, he needs all of us. Now, I'm not telling you to forgive him, but I am telling you to at least have a conversation with him. If not you him, then for you and for Christopher." She said in a soothing voice.
Eddie nodded and laughed bitterly "You want to know the most screwed up thing about all of this?" he asked.
She raised her eyebrow and nodded her head.
"Even after everything that´s happened, even after so many years, I… i…"
"You still love him." She finished for him with a small smile.
"I don't want to love him." He stated in a defeated tone that tore right through her "but I do, and I don't know what to do with that."
She smiled at him, she understood it perfectly, Buck had been much more to Eddie then just a best friend, Buck had been Eddie´s confidante, his co-parent and though Eddie had waited almost two years before he had told anyone, Eddie had been in love with Buck but had been too afraid to tell him before it was too late.
"Talk to him, maybe then you´ll find out what to do."
"I will. I just… thank you Athena, I know that you´re probably worried about me, considering, but I promise you I am okay, I have an appointment with Frank later and i´ll talk with him about everything." Eddie said and gave her a tight smile before he made his way down the stairs.
Athena sighed and got back to her husband to get them both home.
Walking into the house after the day they´d had, the last thing Athena wanted to do was cook or do any home chores, with one look on her husband´s face, and she knew he felt the same way. She sighed and placed her purse on the coffee table and turned to look at Bobby with a tired smile.
"How about we order in tonight? Today was, well it was a lot. And I honestly don't feel like cooking or cleaning." She said.
"I take it Buck actually gathered up the courage and went to the firehouse then?" Michael said as he and David came out of the kitchen area and greeted them by the dining table.
It was then, that Athena realized the delicious smells coming from the kitchen and turned a little to share a quick glance with her husband before turning to the two men. "Did you cook for us?" she asked.
"How did..." Bobby cleared his throat "How did you know about Buck being back?" Bobby asked before any of them had a chance to respond to Athena´s question. David glanced at Michael and took a deep breath.
"I met with him and his wife yesterday after they brought her in." David looked at Michael and gestured for him to continue and with a deep breath, he did.
"I´ve been in contact with Buck over the years. He told me that we could tell you if you ever asked, but it never felt right, so I never brought it up. I´m sorry."
Athena nodded, she could understand that, and she was grateful for it, because at least that meant at least Buck would have had Michael by his side when she or Bobby hadn´t been.
And wasn't that a kick to the teeth, she had known from occasional comments from Maddie that Buck had ben thriving in San Diego, but to find out that not only was he thriving as a firefighter, but he had also gotten married and apparently had more than then two kids. She wasn't going to lie, it hurt like hell to know that she hadn´t, they hadn't been there for it. The anger and resentment she´d always had about the entire situation flared a little, she glanced a look at her husband, and the anger disappeared as fast as it had arrived.
Bobby looked as close to a breakdown as she had ever seen.
"How bad is she? Can you tell us?" Bobby asked quietly.
Athena and Bobby looked at David and Michael expectantly, both men shifted uncomfortably, before David took a deep breath.
"I´m not her doctor, as I removed myself from her case because of my friendship with Buck, but I have seen her chart." He started fiddling with his hands a bit and closed his eyes for a few seconds before looking back up at them.
"As their friend, I can say that their new treatment seem to work, and that she seems to be in good spirits." David said.
"And as a doctor?" Athena asked.
"As a doctor I cant say much due to patient confidentiality as you already know, but I can say this, it´s not looking good. I can also say that Buck should start preparing himself."
Athena reached out and grasped Bobby´s hand in hers when she noticed how pale he had gotten, she wasn't surprised in the slightest at the tight grip Bobby had on her hand.
"Buck said that as well, that he... he..." Bobby croaked.
"He needs us" she cut in and lead Bobby to the dining table and gestured for them all to sit down.
It had been a while since she had seen Bobby that shaken up, but it had fit the pattern with how every time Buck had come up over the years, this was his reaction.
"His wife wants to meet us all." She said.
She didn't mention all the dark thoughts that had been spinning around in her mind since Buck had explained why he was there. The thoughts were still there though that his wife wanted to meet them before it was too late, before she died.
"I´m going to go in and get changed before we eat." She said and changed the subject before she accidentally said what she was thinking about.
Bobby stayed where he was, he and David started talking about the food he and Michael had made them, and she went to go change. When she came out of her and Bobby´s bathroom in more comfortable clothes, she found Michael standing by her vanity table, staring at a photo of May, Buck and Harry that had been taken during one of their family dinners a couple of weeks before the truck bombing.
"Michael?" she asked and got his attention.
"I´m sorry I didn't tell you sooner. That I was in contact with him." he said, and picked up the photo, he was looking down at it with a smile "in the beginning it was because I honestly didn't think any good would come of it, especially not with the way you and Bobby were fighting over everything that happened. It was a year or so later when Buck told me that I could tell you and Bobby about him if you asked. But it just never felt like the right time. And then I just…" he trailed off.
Athena smiled and put her hand on his shoulder "Michael, it´s okay. You did what you thought was right for him. And I am so grateful that he our son had you." she said.
He looked up at her with shock written all over his face, clearly he hadn´t expected her to say what she did. She squeezed his shoulder and shrugged "That boy is not just mine or Bobby´s, he is yours too Michael." She said.
He nodded his head and smiled "Yeah, he is." he breathed out.
"You know, Buck called me over a month ago to tell me that they were planning on transferring her to Cedar Sinai, and I've never heard him sound so defeated, not even after the truck bombing or the tsunami or after he left. He sounded as if he had given up." Michael said with a said look in his eyes.
Athena inhaled sharply, sure Buck had sounded defeated and sad, but the man she had known wasn't someone who gave up easily, especially not when it came to the people he loved. Which meant if he truly had given up, it must have been a long time coming.
She narrowed her eyes at him "Do you know when she was diagnosed?" she asked.
Michael nodded "Yeah." he breathed out "She was diagnosed about six months ago, it started with kidney failure that later spread to her heart and lungs, when that happened everything got worse relatively was as far as I know." He paused.
He glanced at the open door, she followed his line of sight and could make out Bobby and David, who was setting the table and dishing out food for them all, meanwhile David was talking a mile a minute about some new crime show he had been watching lately, probably to distract the other man.
Michael leaned towards her "Do you think it's a last request, Lizzie wanting to meet you all?" he asked in a whisper.
"Sadly, yes. I don't know whether it´s because she wants to yell at us or make Buck face his demons or if it..."
"She´s not like that. I don't know her reasons for wanting to meet you, but from what I know of her, I honestly think its about her…" he paused, and they locked eyes, and somehow Athena knew what he was going to say even before he had said the words. "I think it´s her way of making sure he isn't alone when it happens."
They both breathed out heavily and stood in silence for a few minutes before Michael cleared his throat "How are you holding up with all of this?" he asked.
"With which part of it?" she asked with a bitter laugh "The part where I found out that the man I still see as my son, the man I would have legally adopted if he had allowed it, got married, or the part where his wife is dying and wants to meet us all before it happens, or how about the part where he has children of his own, and I could have grandchildren by now if my husband hadn't screwed up and been an idiot, instead of just talking to the boy?"
Michael sighed and pulled her into a hug "If it makes you feel any better, I know for a fact that he would let you adopt him tomorrow if you ask." He said with a chuckle.
She took a deep breath and wondered for a moment if she should ask Michael about Buck´s life, or even ask the burning question that had played around in her head, how many grandchildren could she have had?
Athena understood why Buck had taken the out Maddie had offered him, it had been clear from the moment he had broken down in her arms that he had been hanging on by a thread. She imagined that him coming to the firehouse after everything that had happened, and after so many years, and after what he had been going through lately, that it had been like being on a rollercoaster of emotions and at the end, he had simply reached his limits.
And that was a clear indication of how much he had grown since the last time she had seen him. The fact that he had acknowledged that he was at the end of his rope, and stopped to listen to what he had needed instead of just ignoring it and pushing his way through it as he would have done in the past. It was truly remarkable, and just another reminder of everything she had missed over the years.
"And how´s Bobby taking it?" Michael asked as they stepped away from each other.
She exhaled loudly at that. He gave her a knowing look "that bad?" he asked.
"Yeah, he isn't handling it well. You and I both know that Bobby loves that boy more than he would like to admit, even now. Which also had something to do with why he screwed up in the first place." She said.
Michael nodded as a response, as Bobby´s best friend, he had seen first hand of how he had handled Buck leaving, and he had heard firsthand about all of the man´s regrets about the whole thing, he had even helped her save Bobby from relapsing a few times over the years because of it.
"Everything just came rushing back to him the moment Buck broke down and said his wife was dying."
Michael was silent for a moment, taking in her words "Wow. He actually used those words?" he asked after a few moments of silence.
Athena nodded her head, Michael´s face paled at that before he shook himself out of it and his expression changed into determination and they locked eyes once again. "Then we better be there for our son." He stated.
They nodded at each other in agreement and made their way back into the living area and found May, who had just walked in through the front door.
"Hey mom, hey dad." She greeted with a smile that didn't reach her eyes as she walked down the steps that lead down to the living area and headed over to the dining table and hugged David, and then did the same with Bobby before sitting down with them.
Out of everyone in the Grant / Nash household, May had definitely been the one to take Buck leaving the hardest, especially when she had found out the details that had made him leave in the first place. The hurt and anger had been so strong that she had blown up several times over it, which had ended up with her screaming at Bobby every time. It had taken a long time before the girl had been ready to even be civil towards her stepfather, and it took even longer for them to talk it out and get the relationship they had now.
But every now and then it seemed like there were still a trace of that anger, or maybe it never really went away, only lessened. However, Athena was grateful that at least now they had a lot more good days then bad.
"Hey baby, we weren't expecting you today, didn't you have a shift at dispatch?" Athena asked as her and Michael joined them at the table.
"Uh yeah, first thing first. Harry has gone over to hang with Denny and Christopher, they talked about going to the movies, I think" May said and was about to continue when Bobby interrupted her.
"We should tell Harry about…"
"He already knows." May stated, clearly guessing what it was Bobby was about to say. "He was told before Buck came to the firehouse to talk to you. Christopher and Denny knows too." May added and affectively got the attention of everyone at the table, the food suddenly forgotten at the revelation.
Athena smiled fondly at the thought of Buck and Christopher. That was certainly a reunion she wanted to be in the room for, even if she was a little worried about the boy´s reaction to the man´s return. She frowned when May´s use of words and how she had phrased them registered. She raised her eyes to stare at her daughter.
"You already know, don't you baby? About Buck being back in Los Angeles, about everything?" She asked with a small smile.
May looked back at her and without beating around the bush or trying to come up with a lie or excuses, she nodded her head "Yes. Buck said that I could tell you, but honestly? I didn't want to. I wanted him to tell you himself when he was ready. And I didn't want to add another thing that could get between you and Bobby." She said and looked between Athena and Bobby.
Athena sighed, she couldn't argue with her daughter´s logic, because she might have made the same decision if the roles had been reversed. There was a part of her that wished she had known though, maybe then she could have done something sooner to end the silence between them all and gotten their family to reunite sooner. Then she would have met her daughter in law before she had been on her death bed.
"Buck mentioned kids meaning more than one, how, uh, how many?" Bobby asked quietly.
Athena turned slightly in her seat and gave her daughter her full attention.
"You should know that Buck texted me before I got here and asked me to answer any question you may have and apologize for him not answering them when he was at the firehouse." May said looking between the two, before looking at David and Michael who were both smiling and nodding their approval.
"We understand baby. Thank you." Athena answered with a proud smile, she couldn't help it, even if she had wanted to. At that exact moment, she had never been prouder of her. She held out her hand for her daughter to take, whish she did and squeezed, seemingly understanding what Athena was saying with the gesture.
"Moving on." May said with a smile "He has five kids. Three girls and two boys."
"five kids?" Athena asked in shock.
Athena had always known that Buck wanted a family, hell that boy had searched for one his entire life, so it didn't really surprise her that he would have more then one child, but hearing that he had not just two, but five of them was surprising to her. But it proved yet again just how far he had come since the last time she had seen him.
May chuckled "yeah. The oldest is Killian, he is seven, then there is Jamie who is five, and then there is the twins, Lydia and River who just turned four three months ago and finally there is Hannah who is two years old." May smiled a little as she pulled out her phone to show them all pictures of the kids.
"Everyone called them crazy for having so many kids." May chuckled "When they found out they were having the twins, they swore they were done having kids, because they were already overwhelmed as it were with just Jamie and Killian, but then lizzie got pregnant again, and her reaction was to threaten to castrate Buck because of it."
That made everyone laugh, Athena reached over the table with her other hand and grabbed Bobby´s hand who had been resting on top of the table. He squeezed her hand in gratitude before they both turned their attention back on May who was still searching her phone for the right picture.
May smiled when she had found the picture, she wanted to show them and turned her phone around so everyone could see it.
Athena´s breath caught. The photo was of Buck, looking happier than she could ever remember seeing him, he had shorter hair then he did now and was clean shaven, he almost looked like the Buck from before he had left. He was sitting on a couch with what appeared to be stringing lights hanging behind him. Hanging on his back was a little boy who might as well be his twin, right down to the sandy blonde hair and the birthmark above the blue eyes. Sitting on Buck´s right lap was another little boy who were smiling up at him, he had strawberry blonde hair and what looked like a birthmark above the one blue eye you could see from the angle. On his other lap, was a younger girl who appeared to be laughing hysterically, she had short strawberry blonde hair, but no birthmark like her two older siblings. An almost identical little girl was hanging on to Buck by his neck, climbing half on top of her twin, with her face buried in his chest.
"I took this the last time I went and visited him, Hannah had just turned one, the day after her birthday the twins felt a little overlooked, so Buck and I made their living room into a pillow fort and watched movies all day, while Lizzie visited her sister with Hannah." May explained with a fond smile.
She turned back to the phone "The one hanging on Buck´s back is Killian, and the one on his right lap is Jamie, the girl who is hiding and clinging on to Buck is River and then there is Lydia who is the one laughing like a maniac."
Athena nodded her head, she glanced briefly at bobby, only to see that he was just as shaken up as she was.
"Do you have any..." Bobby started, he had to clear his throat several times before he was able to continue "Do you have any pictures of his wife?" he asked.
May sent him a small smile as she nodded her head and hurried to find a picture to show, after a few seconds of her going through her phone, she turned the phone in their direction and showed them the picture.
In the picture, Buck was standing in front of the camera, he was wearing a blue dress shirt with a few of the top buttons undone and his sleeves was rolled up to his elbows, his hair was tousled, and he had what looked like cake all over him, but the thing that caught Athena´s attention the most, was the loving smile he had on his face as he looked down at the woman in his arms.
Athena´s first thought, was that Lizzie was gorgeous, long strawberry blonde hair that had been styled into a french braid that was hanging over her right shoulder, her green eyes were sparkling as she gazed back up at Buck, she was wearing a pastel blue dress, but the specific details to the dress were difficult to see due to Buck´s arms that was around her. Her left arm was entangled with Bucks, with her left hand on top of his, clearly showing off an engagement ring, with her right hand she was holding what looked like a sonogram picture.
"When was this taken?" Athena asked as she grabbed the phone to inspect the picture up close.
"It was taken at their rehearsal dinner." She said "And before you ask, yes I was at their wedding. I wasn't originally invited though. But I found dad´s invitation and called Buck. He said that he didn't want to invite me because he hated asking me not to tell you anything, and he didn't want to put me in a spot where I had to lie to you about it. Luckily both Maddie and Lizzie, as well as dad convinced Buck that it should be my choice. And I chose to go."
It was clear in the way that May was holding herself, with her shoulders tense and her eyes going between Athena and Bobby that she was preparing herself for their reaction. And Athena couldn't really blame her for that, especially not with all the fights between May and Bobby. Athena couldn't help but be proud of her daughter´s protectiveness over her older brother.
Luckily, Bobby just nodded his head, he had the same sad expression on his face, like he´d had since Buck had broken down in her arms and told them what was going on with her.
"She was pregnant?" Bobby asked in a low voice, staring with awe at the picture on the phone in Athena´s hand.
May chuckled "Yeah, she found out three weeks before the wedding, and hadn´t told anyone about it. Not even Buck. You want to hear how she told him?" she asked.
Michael laughed "You are going to love this." He said chuckling.
Athena and Bobby both smiled "Tell us" Bobby pleaded.
"Okay. So, during the rehearsal dinner, Lizzie pulled Buck aside and told him the news, the thing is though, she hadn´t fully thought where she had pulled him off to through, since she hadn´t noticed the microphone that had been placed close to the drinks tables for toasts." She paused so she could laugh at the memory.
"Buck practically screamed `you´re pregnant!?´ and of course the microphone was on, so everyone heard it." she paused to laugh once again. "which made everyone there, fall over with laughter, and when Lizzie noticed she smacked him across the head over it and then she just smiled at him, took the microphone, and looked around the room before she looked back at him and said that yes, she was in fact pregnant. I think it took Buck close to five minutes before he reacted, and when he did, he had the biggest smile on his face with tears streaming down his face."
Everyone laughed at the story, Athena could imagine it in her mind and shook her head at the mental picture of it. Buck had always been known to react in the most unexpected ways, so it didn't really surprise her that he would react that way at the news of his depending fatherhood. Buck had always wanted a family, and knowing he got exactly that, eased a lot of the pain in Athena´s chest over losing so much time with him.
"He´s at the hospital with her tonight, right?" Bobby asked.
Which might not have been the best thing to ask, seeing how both May, David and Michael had stiffened in their seats, it took a minute before May slowly nodded and frowned in clear confusion over the sudden change of subject. Athena looked over at her husband and was confused right along with May at the clear determination on Bobby´s face.
"Can you do me a favor?" Bobby asked.
"That depends on what you want me to do? Because I'm not taking you to her room, today has already been hard for Buck, I'm not adding more to it right now." May answered cautiously and shared a worried glance with David.
"No, I'm not asking you for that." Bobby said while shaking his head.
Athena frowned in confusion at him, he stood up briefly to pull out his wallet from his back pocket and sat back down. He opened his wallet and went through it, he grabbed everything he had in it, which had been close to 50 dollars and handed it to May, who took them with a confused head tilt.
"Can you please go and get them an actual dinner, so they wont have to eat the hospital food?" he asked.
Athena smiled at her husband and looked down at her daughter´s hand and counted inside her head, she realized that if she were to go to one of Buck´s favorite take out places from when he had lived here, May would need more than just 50 dollars, so she got up from her chair and went over to her purse and pulled out her wallet.
She then went back to the table and handed her another 50 dollars, that way May would at least have options to which of Buck´s favorite places she would go, and much to her surprise, Michael and David added 50 dollars each to the pile.
Athena raised an eyebrow at the two men, who both shrugged at her.
"We are all well aware of just how bad hospital food is, and it only gets worse with time." Michael said sheepishly, she laughed softly when David nodded his agreement.
May accepted the money and put them into her own wallet, she then gave them all a small smile. "Let me eat with you guys and then I´ll go." She said.
Bobby nodded "thank you May." He said.
Athena smiled softly at them both "May, baby can you talk to them and maybe arrange for when we can visit them and meet her?" she asked.
May smiled "Of course mom. I will text or call, the moment I know something."
It wasn't long after, that May left to go pick up some food and went to the hospital. The minute she had left the house, Bobby had gone through their entire kitchen and pantry to figure out what food he could make to send Buck and his wife the next couple of days. Athena didn't say or comment on anything, instead, along with Michael and David went into the kitchen to help him prepare all the food.
