"Mei-Mei come on honey, I know you're attached to your crib but you're ready for a big cub bed." Maria said to Mei.
It was a few days later and Maria and Shadow had bought Mei a toddler-bed so were trying to get their lil cub to detract from it so they could put it in storage in case Maria gave Mei a brother or sister however Shadow was very impressed by Mei's strong will making Maria sighing.
"Shadow don't encourage her, but she's like you in that regard. Mei honey it'll be okay as you'll love your new bed as much as your crib as long as you give it a chance my puggle." Maria said to her seeing Mei thinking about this letting go of the crib relieving Maria and Shadow at this seeing it was lunchtime so Mei's nap was coming up so Mei could take her new bed for a test-sleep seeing Mei following them to the kitchen making Shadow proud of her.
"That'smy lil hedgeprincess and why you have your big-cub bed. Soon you'll be going to school." Shadow told her.
"Really, I can go to school with human-cubs." Mei asked him. "Uh-huh, as you'll be amazing there, plus I made pumpkin soup one of our favourites." Shadow told her seeing Mei eating up and wearing an napkin scarf as she was learning table manners which was good but after eating, she was going to the bathroom to pee then going to her room lying on her bed with her winged stuffie of him making Shadow smirking telling her a story which was relaxing her into sleep kissing her furry head leaving her be joining Maria into the kitchen saying Mei was having her first nap, in her new bed making her happy kissing him making him blush
"Let's get the crib in storage, while she's sleeping so she doesn't get upset." Shadow told her seeing her agreeing.
After getting the crib up into the attic, they were making themselves coffee along with a snack for Mei when she woke up, from her nap and were proud of Mei for accepting her new bed so could tell Sonic that it was a success despite Mei not liking it at first seeing Maria agreeing. They were checking on Mei just in case seeing she was still sleeping leaving her be to finish her nap but after a while, Mei began to stur flying into the kitchen impressing Shadow that she was getting good with flying making her grin revealing her first loose fang making Shadow's eyes widening in surprise making Mei wonder what was wrong. "Nothing's wrong with you, this is a good thing as your first loose fang is a big deal for me and mommy plus when you lose it and put it under your pillow, a special visitor will come and bring you something." Shadow told her.
"Cool, daddy did Aunt Maddie tell you this." Mei said drinking milk seeingvShadow nodding.
"Shadow, we got word from the preschool, she's in." Maria said to him making Shadow excited getting Mei to open her mouth showing Maria her loose fang making her excited about this asking her, if she knew would happen after she lost it. "Yep daddy told me." Mei told her.. Plus Mei was curious about why her mom was so excited about what she told her dad making Shadow smirk explaining it wasabout school making her anxious which he saw.
"It's okay Mei-Mei as you'll do okay at school." he told her.
"All hail Mei, superhero and of the universe, hehehe." Mei said playing with action figures acting out stories she came up with help from her awesome daddy making Shadow chuckle entering Mei's room as it was early evening, and time to start her bedtime routine including her bath seeing her stop playing noticing her dad there making Shadow relieved, she was getting used to routine as Maria and Shadow did this many times with her. "Yes honey, it's time to get ready for bed, which is something you need to learn for school." Shadow told her ruffling her quilled head fur making her curious aboyt what he meant but tidying her toys away.
"Okay daddy, I'm coming." Mei told him following him to the bathroom relieving him she was listening to him making him happy guessing she understood it was bedtime not playtime along with it being time to settle down but after that, and after putting on her pyjamas, having a bedtime snack she was ready for bed so Shadow was telling her a story while tucking her in kissing her goodnight turning on the nightlight before leaving her room. He joined Maria in their room telling her that Mei was asleep relieving her, as she knew Mei was sometimes a good sleeper.
