What had started like a routine inspection had yielded some interesting results. After months of absence, the Toad Empire was showing its warty face once more with a terrifying new weapon to boot!
"What's going on Jenny?" asked Bucky to his first mate and pilot as they got closer to the asteroid belt.
"The asteroid belt was hiding something, all right!" she mentions as they near their target. "There must be two toad battalions stationed here!" she continued saying in awe.
Suddenly the alarms started to sound, "Incoming from all sides! We're trapped!" she cried out in worry.
"They couldn't have been waiting for us…" Bucky wondered as the ships got closer, something wasn't adding up here.
From inside the Toad Mothership, the largest class ship in the Toad Navy, the Toad Air Marshal watched as his greatest enemy approached. The Air Marshal, the supreme commander of the Toad Empire's military and space forces, an unusually short toad obsessed with earning as many medals as possible was seething with rage at Captain O'Hare's newest involvement against his forces.
"Miserable mammals! Is there no place in the aniverse that that heinous hare won't find us?" he argued aloud before sitting down on his chair.
"Scramble all fighters! Eliminate those frigates! Don't let those mammals get close to the gate!" he commanded his forces with a load bellow.
Back on the Indignation Willy is struggling to keep the ship in one piece.
"How're we doing Willy?" asked Bucky through the coms, "Shields are holding Bucky, but the generators can't take much more!" was Willy's response, as the generators began to smoke.
"Then that leaves us only one real option here!" Bucky exclaimed as he contacted his fellow frigate. "Mimi! Head for the wormhole! We're going to Lylat!".
Back with the toads, the Air Marshall berates his crew, "What are you tads doing?! Take them out NOW!".
"We're trying, Air Marshall! Their shields are tough!" answers a panicking toad.
"I don't care what it takes! STOP THEM!" was all the Marshal commanded.
Meanwhile on the deck of the Indignation, Bucky and the crew are butting their new plan to fruition.
"The Mimi's through Bucky!" Jenny informed her captain. "Good…only have one shot at this…" he said as he lined up the ship's blasters.
"Bucky, what are you doing?" asked an apprehensive Jenny.
"Well, we don't want them following us right through, do we? Bucky said with a smile, hiding the concern on his face.
"Here we go!" he says as he shot the gate as they go through, causing violent turbulence and a multicolor explosion on there wake.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" was the last sound they made on this dimension.
Back on the toad Command ship, a frightening figure approaches the Toad Air Marshall.
"Air Marshall, report." Said the mysterious figure, now revealed to be Toadborg, KOMPLEX's cyborg second in command, once a mere storm toad of the Empire's army, now a ruthless commander.
He is ambitious, passionate, intelligent, arrogant, and ruthless. Like most Toads, he is utterly convinced that Toads are inherently the superior race compared to the rest of life in the galaxy.
However, ever since he received his new body from Komplex, Toadborg believes that he is no longer a Toad, but something even better: an invincible Toadborg.
"Those blasted mammals found us out again! AGAIN! And they disabled the subspace generators on their way through the gate! It'll be four days before we finish repairs." He reported, not trying to conseil the wrath on his voice.
"Well fine! Let them try and marshal forces in lylat! Without O'Hare, we're free to roll over Genus and every other mammal…"
"No." said Toadborg.
"But… they'll be virtually defenseless…" Air Marshall began to say.
"And risk O'Hare coming to their rescue with an entire fleet behind him? You know as well as I do that, he'll find a way." Toadborg wisely said, looking down at his smaller companion.
"We must continue the invasion as planned." He finishes as he walks to the central console.
"While his arrival in Lylat is an unplanned setback, it has given us an unexpected advantage. Not only did O'Hare test the gate for us on a vessel-sized scale, but the star charts our sensors collected while the wormhole was open provided us with our first mission in Lylat." Toadborg informed him as he plugged his wires into the computer and projected the image of a planet.
"To conquer Planet Venom!"
