High up In the sky, a white pigeon wearing a blue pilot hat with white goggles, a red scarf around its neck and has a satchel around its neck and at the side of its waist was seen flying through the air being chased by four fighter aircrafts trying to shoot it down. what was special that the pilots in each aircrafts were actually the M-Team except their outfits were WW2 themed.
Sky Falcon:(through the communicator) Uhhh... Why are we doing this again?
Ladybug: We were assigned by the general to try to catch the Yankee Doodle Pigeon for the crucial information it has that we can use to our advantage against the enemy.
Sky Falcon: I get that part, but why are we the ones doing it?
Gray Wolf:(through the communicator) Maybe because it's so slippery that the last people assigned for this task attempted to catch it many times without success.
Cat Noir:(through the communicator) It's definitely serious if the general asked us for help in this. besides, he might get us paid.
Ladybug: Which isn't the point.
Sky Falcon: We might as well take the pigeon too. I have a cousin who likes them for barbeque.
Gray Wolf: Yup. Deep fried real nice.
Cat Noir: Now you guys are making me hungry.
Ladybug: Guys, stay focused. the sooner we catch it, the sooner we have our lunch break.
The M-Team made sounds of agreement as they continued their chase.
Scene: Jaiye Manor.
Sometime around the early hours of morning, just as the sun begins to rise, Toby could be seen in the workshop rearranging spare parts and putting the tools back in their places after a long night working on a project of his so as to prepare for school.
Connor trotted to him with a wrench in his jaws as he proceeded to drop it in his owner's hand while the said owner placed the tool in the drawer. They both walked to the door leading inside the house.
Toby had just closed the door and upon turning, he jumped in fright on seeing his mother and sister both fully dressed, arms crossed and were spotting unimpressed looks.
"Uhhhh….." He leaned on the door, trying to play it cool, "Good morning. Did you all sleep well?"
"Well enough to know you haven't," Camilla responded dryly
"I see you've been busy in the workshop, again," said Edna.
"Maybe," Toby said, sheepishly.
"Come on, TJ, you should get dressed."
Scene: Miss Bustier's classroom.
Mr Damocles addressed the class with an important announcement.
"You only have one day to work on your fashion piece, and it must be your own design," said Mr Damocles to the entire class. "In ten hours, your fittest presentation will be judged by none other than the great fashion designer Gabriel Agreste, the father of our very own student Adrien Agreste. In fact, Adrien will model the winning design in his next photo shoot." Upon hearing this, Marinette was giddy with excitement. "And now, to announce this year's theme: derby hats."
"Derby hats?" Marinette blinked.
Chloé looked at her and gave her a thumbs-down gesture.
Scene: Collège Françoise Dupont.
After class, Marinette was rather frantic as she was going over her sketchbook in the hall with Alya and Camilla.
"Derby hat, derby hat, derby hat, derby hat…!" she said frustratingly, going through all the designs. "I don't have any derby hat designs. I've got top hats, caps, even two-horned hats! Need a beret? I'm your girl. A sombrero? No problem-o. But a derby?! You know what? It won't even matter, 'cause I'll probably make a total fool of myself at the event, most likely trip over my stupid derby and collapse on Mr Agreste; give him a full-blown concussion, and then he will hate me! I'll never be a world-renowned fashion designer. MY LIFE IS OVER!"
"All this over a derby hat?" said Alya, taking her sketchpad. "Let's see your sketchpad, girl. There must be something in here."
"Forget it; I'm a disaster zone," said Marinette as she sat down on the bench next to them. "I'll probably mess everything up in the end."
"Geez, and I thought Chloe's the drama queen," said Camilla, earning a glare from Marinette.
It was then that Adrien approached them with Toby at his side.
"Wow, Alya…" he said, looking at Marinette's sketchbook, causing her to panic and do a full flip behind the bench. "…those are some awesome designs. I didn't know you had such mad skills."
"Uh, thanks, Adrien, but I can't take the credit," said Alya and then gestured over to Marinette. "These sick designs belong to Marinette." Marinette just gave a weak smile and waved, feeling utterly embarrassed. "Off the chain, right?"
"I mean you clearly know this."
"You're super talented, Marinette. You seriously have a good chance of winning," said Adrien.
"Yeah what he said." Toby chips in helpfully
"Well, um, yeah! I… like—um, designs that—um…" Marinette stuttered as both Alya and Camilla secretly tried to interpret them by giving her the thumbs up. "…go… upwards?" Alya quickly shook her head and crossed her arms while Camilla's hands found her forehead. "Um, while stopping… I mean, uh—uh, um, thanks?"
"Sure, and uh—good luck," said Adrien as Alya buried her hands on her head, and Toby cracked a smile while trying not to laugh. "Maybe I'll be wearing your derby at my father's next photo shoot."
He then waved her goodbye and left with Toby following him while mouthing sarcastically, "Nice one."
"Marinette, Marinette, Marinette. Your mind has never been the same," Camilla shook her head.
If you can recall from the previous chapter, with the whole mushy romance that night. Yeah, let's just say that neither of them were walking it off anytime soon.
"Girl, you gotta get a grip next time," said Alya. "But did you hear? Adrien thinks you're good enough to win!"
The three girls immediately cheered, unaware that Chloé and Sabrina were eavesdropping.
Sabrina looked at Chloé. "Did you hear how impressed Adrien was with Marinette's desi—"
"Of course, I heard!" Chloé snapped. "Her? Win the contest? As if. When Adrien sees my design, he'll convince his father to award me the winner. Hm!"
"I'm sure he will, Chloé," Sabrina agreed. "You're a born champion. Your design will blow everyone else's out of the water!"
"Yeah, it will. As soon as I can get my hands on the sketchpad!"
Alya had just handed Marinette back her sketchbook and then pulled out her phone, showing there were only nine hours left until the show.
"Only have nine hours until showtime," she said.
"Yikes! I'm off to my secret garden of inspiration. I'll see you later," said Marinette, promptly running into a wall. "AH! I'm okay. I'm okay, I'm okay."
The two girls watched, chuckling as Marinette ran past the exit and promptly did a U-turn.
Scene: Hawk Moth's lair.
Hawk Moth opened his window to search for his new victim.
"The time has come for us to find our next victim, my wicked little akumas," he said. "And to prey upon the M-Team. Their Miraculouses must be mine!"
Scene: Collège Françoise Dupont.
Camilla had just joined her twin brother as they were about leaving the school.
"Hey guys."
The twins turned to see Rose and Juleka approaching them, the latter was holding a derby hat.
"Hey," both said with a smile.
"Juleka and I are trying to modify this derby hat so we were both thinking if we can use your workshop to work on it better," Rose explained while Juleka mumbled in agreement.
"Good idea," Toby said after a moment of consideration.
"Yeah, you can tag along with us because we're also going there," Camilla said.
"Great!"
Scene: Trocadéro.
Marinette was trying to design a new derby hat, but she wasn't getting any inspiration. She continued to scribble on her sketchpad only to the pages out.
"Geez, it's hard to be creative under pressure," Marinette moaned.
"Marinette, you save the world under pressure," Tikki pointed out. "I think designing a hat should be a piece of cake!"
"Hm, a cake derby hat. Stylish and tasty," Marinette pondered, causing them both to chuckle.
Marinette kept on drawing new designs only to get them out again; she still lacked that inspiration she needed. She then looked up and saw a man walking but making his way to a bench. Once he sat down, he took out a brown paper bag and blew on a bird call. Almost instantly, a cluster of pigeons approached him, one of them flying past Marinette, nearly hitting her.
"Well, happy day, happy day!" said the man as he began feeding the pigeons. "Splendid is the afternoon day. Ah, Edgar, you fancy one. Fantastic, dazzling performance."
Officer Roger then began to approach him. "Scram, you winged rats!" he yelled, causing the pigeons to fly off and then turned his attention to the man. "How many times do you need to be told, Mr Ramier? No! FEEDING! The pigeons! It's strictly forbidden. If everyone feeds them, they'll leave their waste everywhere!"
"But, who's going to feed my poor pigeons?" Mr Ramier asked.
"All the park keepers know about you, Mr Ramier. You're banned from every park in Paris. Leave now, or I'll call the authorities," said Roger and then suddenly remembered that he was a police officer. "Oh, wait. I'm the authorities. GET OUT!"
Marinette then watched as Mr Ramier walked away, looking immensely depressed.
"Sheesh, I almost feel sorry for that man," said Marinette.
"What a unique character!" said Tikki. "He was like, a human bird. All he needed was a feather jacket to complete the look."
"A feather jacket, hmm. Nice thinking, Tikki," said Marinette and then started to draw again, now finding her inspiration.
Scene: Seine.
Mr Ramier sat down on the bench sadly, and Hawk Moth could sense his negative emotions.
"Poor Mr Ramier, the feeling of injustice, such easy prey for my akuma," he said as he began to corrupt a butterfly into an akuma. "Fly away, my little akuma, and evilize him!"
The akuma flew out of his lair and towards Mr Ramier, infecting his bird call.
"Mr Pigeon, I'm Hawk Moth. Neither this police officer nor any other of the park keepers should stop you from taking care of your friends. What would Paris be without pigeons? What would pigeons be without you?"
Mr Ramier chuckled and then began to transform into Mr Pigeon, who was now more muscular, and his bird call was still wrapped around his neck. He was now wearing a full-body skin-tight jumpsuit with black forearms, waist and thighs, dark gray belly, light gray chest, shoulder and biceps, and pale, light grayish amaranth shins and head.
When his transformation was complete, he began flapping his arms while pigeon noises before running off.
At the same time, Chloé was secretly watching Marinette as she drew on her sketchpad. She signalled Sabrina, who snuck behind Marinette, to take a picture of the design from her sketchpad.
Marinette had just finished her sketch. "Yes!"
She held up her pad, looking at her finished design, which Sabrina snapped a photo of.
"Now that's a derby!" said Tikki, marveling at the design.
"Thanks, Tikki," Marinette smiled.
Sabrina then returned to Chloé with the photo on her phone. "We're so awesome."
"We?" she said coldly, snatching the phone.
"Oh right, sorry!" said Sabrina, looking a little hurt. "You're so awesome, Chloé. When are we—uh, you, going to make the hat?"
"And ruin these nails?" Chloé scoffed. "Of course not. Daddy'll pay someone to do it."
She then walked off, and Sabrina followed.
Scene: Jaiye Manor.
The four of them made their way to the entrance of the workshop while chatting.
"So, I wonder which derby hat you're gonna make," said Rose.
"Actually, TJ and I aren't making derby hats," clarified Camilla.
"Instead, we have a personal project," said Toby as he slid the door upwards, revealing a spacious and brightly lit interior. The workshop itself serves as a garage but has other uses like this one. Most of the room has a space enough to accommodate one vehicle with additional spaces for other machines present and currently, there was an object occupying that space being obscured by a tarp. On the left side were chairs, work tables, workbenches with drawers and other machines and monitors. All in all, it was a conducive environment, something both girls took in.
"Welcome to my lab," said Toby with his arms spread out.
"Also a garage," Camilla added, "But fun fact: It's also his happy place."
"You have a happy place?" asked Rose, excited, "I also have a happy place."
"Right, We'll see that the next time we all meet like this," promised Toby as he and his sister made their way to the closet to put on some safety gear, "Back to the topic at hand, In this facility are the things you need for your assignment."
"Any question that either of you have in mind, feel free to ask," said Camilla as she put on a pair of safety gloves.
It was Juleka who raised her hand as she spoke up, "If you're not making a derby hat, then what are you making?"
"You'll see soon," replied Toby with a secretive smile as he fixed a pair of goggles over his eyes.
Connor walked to them wearing a pair of goggles and a vest with tools holstered. He sat in an upright position with his tail wagging, letting out a bark.
"And let's not forget our lab assistant," said Camilla.
"We only have eight hours so we're gonna make it count."
And with that, Toby started it off by removing the tarp, exposing mostly bike parts as they all got to work on their projects.
Scene: Bakery.
Marinette returned to her room and began working on her derby hat. Tikki attempted to help by giving her a snack every now and then, only to trip, but Marinette gladly accepted the snacks.
It was about 13:20 when she finally finished the hat; she just needed to add the final touches. Unfortunately, Marinette realized that those final touches were missing and began looking under her desk.
"What are you looking for?" Tikki asked.
"A feather!" Marinette panicked. "I forgot to pick up a pigeon feather for the hat! It has to have a feather!"
Marinette then quickly ran back to the Trocadéro, which still had pigeons. The moment she approached them, they immediately scattered, dropping a number of feathers.
"Yes!" said Marinette, grabbing a feather.
She began to run down the stairs to get back home but accidentally bumped into Officer Roger.
"Uh, sorry, mister officer, sir," Marinette apologized and quickly left.
Roger merely shook his head and continued to walk away, but then suddenly, a swarm of pigeons descended upon him. He cried out as they carried him away.
Scene: Streets of Paris.
Marinette was now on the bus trying to get home, but it wasn't moving even though the lights were green.
"Come on! Can't we go any faster?" Marinette asked impatiently.
"Sorry folks, we have a situation here," said the bus driver gesturing to the cars held by a cluster of pigeons. "You'll need to get off the bus now."
Marinette decided to do just that until she was startled by a massive cloister of pigeons. "Ah! Uh, this is weird."
Despite the number of pigeons, she got off the bus; as she made her way down the street, she saw even more pigeons. She then turned to a nearby screen that was showing the news.
"Pigeons have taken over Paris," Nadja reported. "This is just one of the many alarming situations giving authorities cause for major concern." She then touched her earpiece, indicating that she had just been given some additional information. "Yes, I've just been told that someone named 'Mr Pigeon' is making an announcement."
Scene: Jaiye Manor.
Mr Pigeon then appeared on the screen. "Oh, dreary day, poor Parisians." He then began making pigeon noises. "Sorry to ruffle your feathers, but Paris now belongs to the pigeons! Flap flap!"
He then made even more pigeon noises.
The Jaiye twins, Rose and Jukeka were watching the news through a monitor. The latter two were on a table having almost finished their derby hat which had a sort of Steampunk design.
The twins cast a glance at each other before Camilla turned to the girls while taking off her gloves, "Hey, I just got a text from our mom, she wants TJ and I to run on an errand."
Toby then put down a steaming blowtorch, "If we don't make it back in the next 30 minutes, leave without us. We'll catch up."
"No problem. Thanks for helping us," said Rose.
"Anytime," replied Toby before quickly adding, "And nice hat."
"Thanks," said both girls.
And with that, the twins walked through the door connecting the workshop to the main house.
The twins walked in sync along the hallway as their respective kwamis flew out of their jackets.
"So, what do you guys think?" asked Toby.
"One thing for certain is that you played it cool when talking to the girls and they-" Breeze said before he was cut off by Camilla.
"We didn't mean that, Breeze. We're talking about the akuma attack."
"Let's see. Flying nutcase trying to bring about pigeon uprising," stated Luupa, "As far as I'm concerned, their feathers make nice pillows."
"Paris needs us. It's Transformin' Time," said Toby as they both bump fists.
"Breeze! Take Flight!"
"Luupa! It's Full Moon!"
Toby and Camilla both transform into Sky Falcon and Gray Wolf respectively.
Scene: Rooftops
Sky Falcon touched down on a rooftop of a building rooftop along with Gray Wolf and began their search for Mr Pigeon. They were later joined by Ladybug.
"I take it you've seen the news," said Gray Wolf.
"Yup and it's weird."
They then noticed pigeons flying in the formation of an airplane through the sky.
"Now, this is weirder than weird," she said.
"Birds of a feather flock together," said a voice, and they turned to see Cat Noir laying down on the roof. He then promptly sneezed and slid down the roof towards them. He then promptly picked himself up, sniffing his nose. "I'm allergic to feathers. Achoo!"
"Really," said Sky Falcon, "You've been beside me the whole time and not once have you sneezed."
"That's because your feathers aren't organic," Cat Noir pointed out
"That's helpful," Ladybug commented while facepalming, adding in her mind with an internal groan, '...and also a problem.'
"Tell me about it," Cat Noir groaned and almost sneezed but managed to stop himself, "These birds are only part of the problem. The park keepers in Paris are vanishing without a trace."
"Gee. I wonder why," quipped Gray Wolf, folding her arms.
"We have to track down Mr Pigeon ASAP," said Ladybug.
"Where are we gonna find him?" Cat Noir asked.
"I can't specifically pinpoint where, but I might be able to track him in the skies," suggested Sky Falcon.
"Hmm, I don't know where we can find him, but I do know where he can find us," Ladybug smiled.
Scene: Place des Vosges.
Cat Noir was wearing a park ranger cap pretending to be a park ranger while Sky Falcon was wearing a police cap along with aviator sunglasses and a fake horseshoe moustache pretending to be a police officer. Ladybug and Gray Wolf were nearby, hiding behind trees.
Cat Noir seemed particularly bored as he began whistling the 'La Marseillaise' and then started to dance.
"Act natural, or he'll never show up!" Ladybug hissed.
"What do you mean? I am acting natural," said Cat Noir.
Sky Falcon brought out a banana and pointed it at Cat Noir in the manner one would with a gun.
"Freeze! Funky Police Department! Hands up in the air!" ordered Sky Falcon with a faux baritone voice, causing Cat Noir to raise his hands.
"Oh no! Please don't shoot!" said Cat Noir, playing along, "What crime have I committed?"
"Your main offense was dancing on patrol without music, Your penalty is to p-" The false police officer was cut off by Gray Wolf through the earpiece.
"You funky idiots better not do what I think you're trying to do," she growled.
Unbeknownst to them, a pigeon was watching then immediately flew back towards Mr Pigeon and cooed in his ear.
"The M-Team?" Mr Pigeon smiled. "Job well done, buddy-boy. Pigeons will reign supreme! Power to the pigeons!"
He then began making pigeon noises and jumped off the statue, where he was immediately caught by the pigeons forming a platform. Then they began carrying him over towards the park.
Back at the park, the M-Team were still waiting.
"Where is he?" said Ladybug, looking concerned. "He should've been here by now."
Cat Noir then suddenly sneezed, and when he looked up, he saw a massive bunch of pigeons taking in the formation of a ball. Then they began sweeping down towards Cat Noir and Sky Falcon.
Ladybug popped her head out from behind the tree. "What the—"
The pigeon started to carry the two boys away, and both Ladybug and Gray Wolf immediately began to chase after them. They followed them from the rooftops until she saw the pigeons dropping Cat Noir and Sky Falcon on the Le Grand Paris hotel roof.
"Fan-f-ing-tastic," cussed Sky Falcon under his breath.
Cat Noir immediately sneezed, and then both he and Sky looked around to see that they were surrounded by pigeons. Their teammates soon arrived and joined them on the roof.
"Where's that bird-brain, Mr Pigeon?" Cat Noir asked.
"He's gotta be here somewhere…" said Ladybug.
Mr pigeon was standing on a swarm of pigeons directly behind.
"If you want to give Paris back to the pigeons for good, you must first rid the city of those four pests," Hawk Moth ordered.
Mr Pigeon then blew on his bird call, and the pigeons started to circle around the M-Team.
"Call me crazy, but I feel like birdseed all of a sudden," said Ladybug as the pigeons began to form a shield to keep them in.
"Got any bright ideas, bug?" Cat Noir asked them.
"You guys are predators, don't you eat these things for breakfast?" Ladybug snapped. Then suddenly, the pigeons brought down a gigantic case over them, imprisoning them. "Look!"
They then heard Mr Pigeon making bird noises and saw him floating directly above them. "Turpy day. I'm so ruthless," he chuckled.
"Excellent. Now take their Miraculous!" Hawk Moth commanded.
Mr Pigeon floated down towards them continuing to make bird noises. "Your Miraculous. Give them to me or face the wrath of my feathered friends." He blew on his bird call, and immediately some of the pigeons began banging on the case while others turned their backs and aimed their behinds directly at them.
"Damn!" exclaimed Sky Falcon.
"Dada-dee, on the count of three, my beloved pigeons will commence fire. You can still say you're sorry skins by handing me your Miraculous. One, two…"
"Cat Noir, the bars!" Ladybug yelled.
"Cataclysm!" Cat Noir yelled, using his power.
He then quickly used Cataclysm on the bars and the entire cage fell. Mr Pigeon cowered back toward the edge of the rooftop while the four of them advanced on him spinning their weapons around.
"Well, well. Looks like the pigeon's really a chicken," said Cat Noir as Mr Pigeon made bird noises.
"Me? I'm not flying away. I'm just killing three birds with one stone," said Mr Pigeon and blew on his bird call.
He then leaned back, making bird noises and fell off the edge of the roof. The M-Team quickly rushed towards the edge and discovered that he had been caught by a bunch of pigeons, who now lifted him back up. They then took the formation of a sledge, and then heading towards them were pigeons taking the formation of a Christmas present.
"Merry Christmas!" Mr Pigeon yelled.
"Christmas was a few months ago!" Gray Wolf yelled.
The pigeons were diving toward the three of them, and realizing that they were in danger, they dashed towards the closest door. Gray Wolf stopped and turned towards the flock, taking a deep breath.
"Alpha's Howl!" she unleashes a sonic howl attack, sending all the pigeons flying backwards in the opposite direction.
"Well that's one way to scare off a bunch of birds," said Cat Noir as Gray Wolf entered and closed the door.
"I'm not done with you yet!" Mr Pigeon vowed.
He then began making bird noises as the pigeons took away in the formation of an aeroplane.
The M-Team began running downstairs. They then heard Gray Wolf and Cat Noir's rings beeping telling them that they only had four minutes left before they transformed back.
"I've gotta get out of here before my secret identity's revealed!" Cat Noir panicked.
"Yeah, you wouldn't want to let the cat out of the bag," Ladybug smirked teasingly.
"Haha, very funny," said Cat Noir sarcastically.
"I'm also coming with you," said Gray Wolf.
They made it all the way down to the first floor to exit the building. Sadly there was a huge crowd of people blocking the entrance.
Mayor Bourgeois saw them and looked utterly relieved. "M-Team! I'm in great danger—of losing big bucks if my guests leave Paris! You are going to get rid of those pigeons, aren't you?"
Cat Noir was now getting a little nervous as his ring beeped again.
"Of course we are, but before we do, I have an urgent need," Cat Noir fidgeted
"So do I," said Gray Wolf as soon as her ring beeped.
"An urgent need?" Mayor Bourgeois frowned. "I see, head to the royal suite." He then gestured towards the elevator, and the two rushed towards it, but Gray Wolf stopped midway
"Excuse me. I need to do one more thing," said the lupine heroine before walking to Sky Falcon and abruptly tearing off the fake mustache from his face, earning a pained yelp from the bird of prey, "You're welcome."
She then rushed to join Cat Noir.
"There's paper in there, but perhaps you would prefer… a litter tray?" added the Mayor
"Uh…?" Cat Noir frowned and soon realized that he misinterpreted his need.
"No, that's unnecessary," said Gray Wolf with slight disgust.
"Yeah, no need for litter. But, um, could I have some Camembert?" requested Cat Noir.
"And also Ice cream, medium size and any flavor?" added Gray Wolf.
The elevator door closed, and Mayor Bourgeois looked back at Ladybug and Sky Falcon, confused, and they both merely shrugged.
"Don't ask," Sky Falcon simply said.
Scene: Royal suite.
Butler Jean led Cat Noir and Gray Wolf to the Royal suite and opened the door for them to enter.
"'Scuse me, sorry," the feline said, quickly slamming the door behind him. "Emergency!"
Then he heard a knock on the door, and he opened it again.
"Here is your ice cream, madam and How do you like your Camembert?" Jean asked, handing a medium sized bucket on a silver tray to Gray Wolf.
"Runny!" he said, slamming the door again. A split second later, there was another knock, and he quickly opened it, and standing there was Jean holding a plate, surprising Gray Wolf.
"Unpasteurised Camembert, matured for two years," he said, handing the silver plate to Cat Noir.
"Thanks!"
Cat Noir then slammed the door again just as they both transformed to their civilian selves. Plagg and Luupa shot out of their rings and landed on the bed.
"Oh, the exhaustion!" he moaned. "My poor aching body, I can't move a muscle!"
"Tell me about it," Luupa agreed, but then noticed the ice cream Camilla was holding, "Is that what I think it is?"
"Yup, better not get brain freeze."
"My hero!" squealed an excited Luupa who dived in to devour the ice cream.
Adrien on the other hand removed the cloth from the plate to reveal the Camembert to Plagg.
"Ah, my gooeyness," Plagg squealed and devoured the cheese.
"Eat up, buddy," Adrian smiled. "Ladybug needs help."
Scene: Elevator.
Both Ladybug and Sky Falcon enter the elevator. The latter was holding two sandwiches in both hands and was currently eating one. Ladybug seemed lost in thoughts.
"A penny for your thoughts."
A completely different voice snapped the spotted heroine back to reality as she turned to Sky Falcon who was staring at her, having used his normal voice and accent.
"It's that obvious?" asked Ladybug with a sigh.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Ladybug had no choice but to give in with hesitation, "I almost finished my project and what it needed was a pigeon feather but minutes ago, I just found out he's allergic to feathers, and I don't know what to do."
Sky Falcon hummed in response, swallowing a bite, "Will synthetic feathers suffice?"
"Yeah, but I don't know where I can get one, unless maybe you have."
The elevator doors opened as they stepped into the currently vacant dining room.
"Let me see," said Sky Falcon as he set the things he was holding on the table. He unfurled one of his wings, going over each feather before folding it back. He then searched himself for a while before finally pulling out a feather from his boot and presenting it to Ladybug, "Not really a pigeon feather, but it's the same size. Will this do?"
"Yes, Thank you," Ladybug said before hugging him.
She took the feather from him while he picked up his sandwiches. They made their way to a large glass window.
"Great, we can get a much better view from up here," said Ladybug, and they then watched as some were flying around while others were flying away, "Any idea of where they're going?"
"I have no idea, but that is where we should be following."
"But is there any way to get there without being attacked?"
"You three will go, I'll be the distraction," said Sky Falcon, finishing one sandwich before stepping back, "After all, It takes a bird to fight a bird.
"Sky, be careful out there."
"Hey, you know me," he said with a smile.
Sky Falcon then ran and dived through an open window, deploying his wings a second after as he flew up, flipping to land on the roof with his wings still active.
"HEY, MOSQUITOES!" he yelled, using his trademark voice and accent and gaining the attention of all the pigeons present, "I know all the flying around has made you hungry so I got one free sandwich!"
He took a sniff at the sandwich just to entice them and then held it up, "So let's play a simple game! I fly, you guys try to catch me and take this from me, okay? Time starts Now!"
Immediately he flapped his wings forward, propelling him backwards to gain distance long enough for him to fly away and not a second later, the whole flock of pigeons took off in pursuit after him.
Meanwhile, Ladybug had watched everything in the dining hall when she heard the elevator ding. She turned, only to find Cat Noir and Gray Wolf inside.
"Ready when you are, LB"
Gray Wolf then looked around and noticed someone was missing, "Where did Dick Dastardly go?"
"He's keeping his feathered friends occupied for a while," informed Ladybug, knowing who she was talking about, "It's an opportunity we're not gonna waste. M-Team, Let's do this!"
Scene: The Grand Palais.
The three of them soon made their way to the Grand Palais. They landed next to the entrance and looked through the front doors. From there, they could see that all the park rangers and Officer Roger were all trapped in a big cage.
"So that's where Mr Pigeon's keeping the park keepers he abducted," said Ladybug.
"The Grand Palais," Cat Noir nodded, and he started to sneeze again, but thankfully Ladybug placed her finger under his nose to stop him. "My pigeon radar is on high alert."
"Either your radar is on the brink, or Mr Pigeon's left the park keepers unattended," said Ladybug.
"Or he's waiting for us, preparing for an ambush," deduced Gray Wolf.
"Let's set the cat among the pigeons," said Cat Noir.
"Hold up, kitty, it's too easy," said Ladybug, pulling him back. She then looked to the glass roof and smiled. "I've got a plan."
Both Cat Noir and Gray Wolf followed Ladybug just as a pigeon entered the building. Looking down from the scaffolding was Mr Pigeon.
"Perfect timing, hootie ho!" he said as the pigeon landed on his arm. "We're ready to greet them, aren't we? They're going to fall right into my trap. It won't be long before you get your Miraculous, friend."
"I can't wait, my dear Pigeon," Hawk Moth smiled.
Unbeknownst to Mr Pigeon, the M-Team made their way to the roof.
"If we can destroy that bird call, we'll be able to capture the akuma," Ladybug explained as they made their way to the skylight that was directly over Mr Pigeon, who was unaware of their presence. "Okay, Cat Noir, open the window. Gray Wolf, you grab him and yank him up onto the roof, then I'll snag his birdcall away from him."
"Let's go. the early bird gets the worm!" Cat Noir smiled.
Gray Wolf took out her bow before pulling out an arrow and nocking it as the tip extended into a claw.
Cat opens the skylight on the roof, but a draft of feathers hits him, and he sneezes. Gray had just released her arrow, and the sudden sneeze caused her to misfire. The arrow shot right past Mr Pigeon, which embedded itself into the wall,
"So much for the element of surprise," said Ladybug.
They quickly jumped inside, landing next to Mr Pigeon, who jumped back and let the pigeons carry him. They quickly jumped down on the ground and began chasing after him until he used his bird call, and the pigeons formed two spheres where his hands were.
"Deedly-dee dee, come closer; I have a bone to peck with you," he said.
"I'd be honored," said Cat Noir.
Mr Pigeon then struck the feline, sending him crashing towards the cage. He then tries to attack Ladybug, only to be blocked By Gray Wolf's bow in staff mode. She spins her weapon before they both engage in combat.
"Get us out of here, Ladybug!" said Roger.
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug yelled, and soon dropping into her hands were a pair of red marshaling wands with black spots. "What am I supposed to do with this?"
"Don't they use them in airports?" asked Cat Noir.
"Airports…" She immediately began looking around, and her eyes fell upon Gray Wolf and her yo-yo. She soon realized what the wands were for.
She then opened her yo-yo to make a call.
Scene: Paris.
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!"
To say that he was enjoying himself would be an understatement as we see Sky Falcon zipping through the city in a silver blur being chased by a fleet of pigeon-made bomber aircrafts - the kind you see in WW2 - and other fighter aircrafts accompanied by other pigeons. How they're able to keep up with his speed, no one knows.
Ever since the chase began, the whole city became a battleground as people had to stay inside buildings so as not to be caught in the crosshairs of the airborne pursuit. One of the reasons was that the aircrafts tried shooting a hail of white droppings at bullet speeds with the main target evading them. The roads and buildings were unlucky.
Weirder thing was that the pigeons tried forming objects both animate and inanimate just to catch the falcon. Some formed fists, others formed missiles, and don't get me started on sharks. All of them were unsuccessful as he dodged all of them.
As Sky Falcon recovered from a barrel spin, he received a call which he answered, "Yeah, what's up?"
"Sky, I need assistance. Come to the Grand Palais museum."
"Will do, but what about the pigeons?" he asked as he tucked his wings in, taking a dive through an opening in the Eiffel tower.
"Bring them with you. We need them."
Scene: The Grand Palais.
Ladybug then turned to Gray Wolf who was joined by Cat Noir in fighting the pigeon whisperer while she kept her bug phone still connected, "Gray, I got a plan that requires you."
"That's good," said Gray Wolf as she disengaged from combat to join Ladybug.
"Everything's gonna fall into place. On my signal, you guys pull," said Ladybug as she hung up.
"What signal and pull what?"
The instruction left him confused as he didn't know what he was supposed to do, and it didn't help that she hung up on him which he found annoying, so the least he could do was to lead the pigeons to the museum.
With a groan, he furled his wings, allowing his pursuers to fly past him as he plummeted down towards the ground to gain speed and just as he was about to crash, he activated his wings and sharply pulled up at the last second as he flew at high speed. He quickly had to bank left to avoid the snapping jaws of a gigantic pigeon-made cobra on his previous right. And then the chase continued.
Ladybug then turned on the wands while Gray Wolf had to run across the hall to retrieve her arrow just as she saw Cat Noir being pushed back by the spheres of pigeons being thrown at him. Ladybug walked towards Mr. Pigeon.
"End of the line, Ladybug," said Mr. Pigeon
Through the glass dome behind her opponent, she could make out a winged figure being chased by a giant snake trying to snap at him in the distance, "Yeah, you're right."
She then readies the wands.
Sky Falcon looked to the side and saw the Grand Palais to his left. It was then he noticed something and had to zoom in through his goggles to find a pair of beacons in Ladybug's hands, assuming that was the signal she was talking about.
"Follow me!"
He banked right to gain distance with the pigeons following him and then turned to fly at full speed at the location straight ahead.
Gray Wolf had the arrow ready and was waiting for the right moment as both Ladybug and Mr. Pigeon were having a standoff.
As he was diving, the pigeon cobra was gaining on him slowly, opening its maw
"Almost there," said Sky as the dome was fast approaching.
Ladybug saw him approaching and then raised her wands in a marshaling signal.
That was the signal.
And everything happened so fast, simultaneously.
A second later, Sky Falcon broke through the roof as he saw the signal.
"Sky Dive!"
In a blur, he instantly pulled up, redirecting his momentum into the sky. The pigeon cobra anticipated it too late as it closed its entire maw on the titular villain who screamed in surprise at the same time Gray Wolf shot at Ladybug and yanked her out of the way of the pigeons as the flock crashed. During the scuffle, the bird call fell off and landed on the ground.
"Cat Noir, grab it!" Ladybug yelled.
Cat Noir who was on the other side, ran and slid underneath the pigeons as he picked it up, but then he sneezed, accidentally throwing it.
Fortunately, Gray Wolf caught it. "Got it!"
She then crushed it in her hand, and the akuma flew out of it.
"No more evildoing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize! Gotcha!" Ladybug caught the akuma and then released the purified butterflies. "Bye-bye, little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!"
She then tossed the wands into the air, releasing her magical ladybugs. They immediately fixed the bird call, and Officer Roger and the park rangers and the pigeons returned to their rightful places. Mr Pigeon then converted back to normal, and so did the city.
At the same time, Sky Falcon landed inside.
"Huh? What happened? Where am I?" said Mr Ramier confused.
The M-Team bumped fists. "Pound it!"
"Wretched pigeons, wretched Ladybug," Hawk Moth cursed as his window closed. "I'll destroy every one of you!"
Scene: Marinette's room.
Sky Falcon flew to the bakery and dropped Ladybug as the two entered her room where they both detransformed.
"Open your beak wide, Breeze," said Toby as he handed his kwami the sandwich.
"Thanks, bro."
The falcon kwami scarfed down on the food while Marinette was finishing off in making her hat with Toby lending a hand.
"We have to hurry, there's no time to lose," she said frantically.
Scene: Collège Françoise Dupont.
Everyone had gathered, ready to present their hats. Alya was waiting alongside Camilla for Marinette and tried to reach her on her phone, but there was no response.
"Where is that girl?" said Alya.
"Patience, Alya. She'll be here soon," said Camilla positively.
It was then that Natalie arrived, approaching Mr Damocles and Adrien.
"Hello, Mr Damocles; I am Mr Agreste's executive assistant Nathalie," she said.
"Hello, miss. Pardon me, but where is Mr Agreste?" Mr Damocles asked. She held up a tablet.
Nathalie then held the tablet showing Gabriel. "I'm here."
"Ah, uh, hello, Mr Agreste," said Mr Damocles, taken aback. "Welcome to our school."
"Adrien, take Nathalie around," Gable ordered.
"Ah, there's Mr Agreste! He's coming this way," said Chloé excitedly as Mr Damocles, Nathalie and Adrien approached Juleka and Rose's hat.
"As you'll see, Mr Agreste, our students have poured their hearts and souls into their projects," said Mr Damocles.
Marinette then arrived carrying a box over to Alya and Camilla, giving a sigh of relief.
"Where have you been?!" Alya asked. "You got your hat?"
"Yep, here," she said proudly, removing the lid. Alya marvelled at it, and then her expression darkened. "What?"
"But, it's the same as Chloé's," Alya pointed out.
"What?!" Marinette gasped as the judges made their way over to Chloé and Sabrina's hat, which was exactly the same as hers.
"Uh, hi Mr. Agreste," Chloé waved. "I'm Chloé Bourgeois. You know my father, André Bourgeois, the mayor?
"Ugh, that thieving little brat!" said Marinette, giving Chloé a just look.
"Do you want me to take care of it?" Alya asked Marinette.
Marinette relaxed and looked at her confidently. "I think I can handle this."
The judges soon reached Marinette's hat.
"Hm, turn the tablet back to Ms Bourgeois' hat," Gabriel ordered, and Natalie did just that, and he noticed that both hats were exactly the same. "Is this a joke?"
"No fair! Marinette copied my design! It's scandalous; how could you do that?" said Chloé and then pretended to cry.
"I apologize for the situation Mr Agreste, but I can prove that this derby hat is MY original design," said Marinette.
Nathalie then turned Gabriel to face her. "Go ahead."
"Um, everything on my derby hat is hand-made—from the embroidery to the weaving of the band, to the stitching of the brim," Marinette explained, and Chloé recoiled, realizing that she was now in trouble. "All done by myself. And last, there's a special design element that only the true designer knows about: I signed mine."
She turned the derby hat upside down, revealing her signature on the band. Chloé accidentally knocked over her derby hat stand, and everyone turned towards it, showing that it too had Marinette's signature on the band.
"Daddy!" Chloé yelled and ran away crying.
"Very exquisite creation," said Gabriel. You definitely have the laboring hands of a hat maker, miss…"
"Marinette," said Adrien, placing a hand on Marinette's shoulder.
"Congratulations on your demonstration, Miss Marinette. You're the winner."
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" said Marinette, bowing excitedly.
"Adrien will wear your derby on our next advertising campaign," said Gabriel.
Adrian then placed her hands over hers on the hat, making her both gasp and blush.
"Awesome job, Marinette," said Adrian, making her face pinker.
Adrien then put on the derby hat. Unbeknownst to anyone, Sky Falcon had perched on the roof in a crouched position and had seen everything. Marinette noticed him and gave him a thumbs up which he reciprocated.
"Marinette, what're you doing?" Alya asked, having noticed the gesture.
"It's a… um… thumbs up for good luck," said Marinette. She then turned to Adrien, "Good luck."
"Thanks," Adrian waved before walking away.
The three girls looked at one another, and they began to cheer.
Scene: Jaiye Manor.
"So I was thinking if you'd take a hike across Europe or Asia," said Camilla.
The twins entered the workshop to continue where they stopped.
"I say Europe," answered Toby, "Because it's shorter and I can be very familiar with the - whoa."
Now you're wondering what they were building, right? Well, let me give you a run down.
They were building a pair of electric dirt bikes out of scraps and of course, their old bikes. One was painted black while the other was painted white. When they left, they weren't finished. Apparently right at this point, they found them completed.
"They helped us finish it," Camilla surmised.
"I believe it's their way of saying 'Thank you'," said Luupa.
"All they needs is some recharge and they are as good as hitting the road," said Breeze as Toby was inspecting the black bike only to come across a nicely drawn unicorn head drawn with pink marker which was proven to be permanent when he tried to clean it off without success.
"Oh Rose," he mused with a mildly annoyed sigh.
"Now we don't have to take the bus," said Camilla.
"I bet I can beat their speed," boasted Breeze, "Anyways, who's hungry? I know I am."
"Breeze, you just ate a sandwich over an hour ago," reminded Toby.
"Doesn't stop me. Looks like I'm gonna have a taste of all of those cupcakes. Last one's a rotten egg," quipped the falcon kwami before dashing out.
"Oh no you don't, feather brain!" yelled Luupa before chasing after him leaving the twins alone as they watched them leave.
"Should we be worried?" asked Toby.
"Yeah, let's make sure they don't mess up the kitchen." replied his sister.
With that said, they left the workshop to go after their Kwamis.
Did you guys miss me? I know it took too long because I got a lot on my mind. And let's take a moment to acknowledge the outcome of season 5. Now because of that, I had some sort of existential crisis on whether to improvise or do a rewrite, but I'm leaning on the former. Now I have to reconsider the things I said I would do.
And also do note that no pigeons were harmed in the making of this chapter.
Anyways, I'm glad you guys enjoyed the fanfic and I hope you enjoy this chapter so far. So see you next time.
PEACE!
