Recap...
"Thanks Ace, you just helped me greatly! It's almost dinner anyway, and I have to stop by the medical room real quick. See you later?" Sakura rushes out, waving the teen off and leaving her room with him standing there, clueless.
But this was perfect.
If she could get the crew to lose trust in Teach, the easier it will be to reveal his traitorous actions. All she would need to do, is act suspicious in his body. Nobody would know it was a henge. As long as she kept Ace out of the loop.
It was the perfect plan. And it would make her one step closer to getting rid of him.
Her plan was simple. Draw mild attention to Teach, using a henge to act as him. If people saw him doing suspicious things, then when the big reveal happens - whenever that might be - will be all the more believable. And Sakura won't have to get her hands bloody.
But first she spent most of her free time following the guy. She had gotten better at sensing his little flame of chakra, watching his rotations around the ship. Being apart of the second division, meant he spent most of his time in the navigation corridors.
He'd eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the main hall with everyone else. And was one of the few who was never given watch duty. If three weeks of observing was anything to go by.
Whenever was wasn't watching Teach, she was busy helping out in the medical bay or practicing her henge of the man. So far, nobody seemed to notice her little plan.
Even Ace, who occasionally stopped by to talk with her. Oblivious to it all. And she hoped to keep it that way.
Sakura grinned at the nurse, as she pulled the syringe from her patients arm, handing the contaminated need to her. The nurse scurried off, not before handing a bandage and cotten swab to her.
"If you have any nausea, feel free to stop by for an anti-nausea pill. But that should be the only side effect." Sakura instructed, placing the cotton swab over the bleeding prick in the guys arm, and wrapping the bandage around it to secure it in place.
"Thanks again, Doc'." Her crewmate says, befit swinging his legs over and standing.
Sakura nods her head, turning around just as the man goes to leave. Reaching for her cleaning kit. As she begins to sterilize the seat and other equipment the door behind her opens. She keeps an ear out, as the footsteps grow closer.
"Sakura." A voice says, one she recognizes as Ace.
Spinning around, she lifts her brow at the teen. "Yes? Are you injured?" She worries, eyeing his body for any possible injuries.
The teen laughs, and shakes his head no. Without realizing it, her shoulders untense.
"No, nothing of the sorts. But Oyaji just gave me my first assignment out of the ship." Ace admits.
"Oh that's wonderful news." Sakura begins, grinning. Taking a step forward to pat the teens shoulder. "When will you be leaving?"
Ace looks down at her. "Tomorrow. It should last a week, at most he said." Sakura nods her head at his words. "Well, you better eat well and stay out of harms way, yeah?" She teases. Ace's face flushed red from what she assumes to be embarrassment.
"Yeah, uh." The teen begins, unsure.
Sakura tilts her head. "Is that all you wanted to tell me?" She asks curiously. Eyeing the teen. Ace stands there awkwardly for a few moments, before nodding. "Yes." He says rather quickly, and before Sakura can get a word in, turns and flees the medical bay.
A few giggles sound in the room, and Sakura turns towards the nurses whom seemed to have seen everything. They scatter the moment she raises a playful brow in their direction, hands resting on her hips.
But with Ace leaving, meant she could put her plan in action. Especially seeing as he grew closer with the second division- sharing their love for navigation. Sakura didn't want to cause any division. Not yet, at least.
Closing her eyes and collecting herself, Sakura turns back to continue sterilizing the equipment. The clock ticking behind her.
"It's weird." Thatch mumbles from beside her.
Sakura shares a side-glance with Marco, as the two of them stare up at the chef.
It had been a day since Ace had set sail to one of Whitebeards islands. Tasked with something, Sakura hadn't bothered to gather the details. It was an easy job, Marco had explained. That she had caught. So she wasn't worried.
"What's weird." Marco sighed, staring at Thatch for what felt like an eternity.
"I mean- the kid tries to assassinate Oyaji for months. Now he's apart of us, and we're sending him on a week long task." Thatch begins. Sakura has to stifle a laugh.
"It's just kind of.. empty on the ship now." The chef pouts. Sakura hears Marco sigh for the seventh, tenth, time now? She had lost count.
"You miss Ace? Is that what you're whining about?" Marco asks, exasperated. Sakura notes a little vain popping from the side of his forehead.
"I'm not whining!" Thatch exclaims loudly, drawing a few curious glances. Sakura leans her head back and laughs, reaching around to pat the man on the back.
"It's okay, we all miss the teen." She says reassuringly, sharing a teasing look at Marco from over the chef's shoulder. Thatch throws his hands up, muttering something and glaring at the two of them.
"It's not nice to gang up on me like this." He murmurs, crossing his arms over his chest. Pouting in a way that reminded her of Naruto, whenever her and Sai would make fun of the blond.
"It's okay buddy." Marco says. Before they can make fun of Thatch anymore, the chef huffs loudly before stomping off, towards a very confused looking Vista.
It's quiet for a bit as the larger man of the three leave, before Sakura turns her head to look up at the first mate. Marco tilts his head down.
"He is right though. It's rather quiet without him causing a ruckus." Sakura murmurs and Marco shares a nod of his head.
"Indeed. I gotta go check on Oyaji, make sure he's taken his medicine. See you later?" Marco says. Sakura gives him a thumbs up, and the first commander heads away towards the captains quarters.
Sakura stands near the railing of the ship, chin up as she stares into the sky.
Part one was complete. Getting Ace off the ship. Which meant she could walk around the deck at night without the chance of encountering the firecracker. Who enjoyed strolling out in the dead of night.
Now after perfecting her henge of Teach. She just needed to actually get out there now. Preferably when one of the commanders was on night duty.
Staring at the sky, she sighs. Releasing a breath of air. Patience. She needed patience.
"A celestial dragon dead?" A man says, slowly choosing his words.
A few heads nod in reply.
"You said you have witnesses?" The man continues, his voice hardening. This was proving to be a large headache, as the rookie marines shuffle about in their spot.
"Well.. not exactly. But a few civilians stepped forward, said they saw someone unusual." One of the marines squeaked out.
The man pinched the bridge of his nose, for once wishing Garp would do his job and no hand it off to him all the damn time. But yelling at these boys would do him no good.
Eventually he relents. "Alright, I want to speak with them. Any chance to find who killed the celestial woll make my job easier." The marines nod their heads, and a few scurry out of the room.
"Sengoku- sir!" The last one says, bowing ridiculously.
Sengoku rolls his eyes. And before he can tell the nervous marine to stand, the doors reopen and a few civilians enter- followed by the marines who had just left to retrieve them.
"Speak freely, there will be no repercussions as long as you do not withhold information." Sengoku says in a robotic voice, his eyes narrowed in seriousness.
A man bows his head, and he shares a look with his partner nervously.
"A woman arrived on our island." He begins, and Sengoku sits up a bit straighter.
"Benjamin let her stay in his home, she was carryin' this boy with her. A slave." The man continues, a few marines scuffle around nervously at the mention of such.
Revolutionary perhaps? It wasn't uncommon. But they tended to avoid killing celestial's. Too much of a hassle.
"Pink hair, bright green eyes." The other woman adds, speaking up finally. The man nods to confirm.
"Go on." Sengoku says, not before motioning for his assistant to write this down. The more information they knew, the less backlash they'd have.
"She left the house without the boy, headed into the forest where they found the dragon's body." The woman finishes. "She was all bloody." Is what was whispered afterwards.
Sengoku raised an eyebrow.
The man clears his throat. "Blood was all in her fist. Looked like she got shot too, we couldn't tell.. She went into another part of the forest and never came back." He shutters.
Sengoku nods slowly. "That's all?" He prods.
The woman beside the man shuffles. "Uh.." The room grows silent as eyes turn towards her.
"The woman's back, there was a tattoo. The Whitebeard's Flag." Sengoku'sbody tenses momentarily, before nodding, sending a look to the marines standing behind the two civilians.
With a quick thanks and a heavy sigh, the marines lead the two civilians out of his office.
Sengoku turns to his assistant. "I want information on a pink haired pirate apart of the Whitebeard's Crew. Name, where she came from, and then we'll start or add to an assisting bounty. Change it from Dead or Alive, to only Alive." He commands.
He watches his assistant nod, before leaving his office. Placing his head into his hands, Sengoku ponders over getting Garp involved. And if the old marine would even wish to be. Knowing their past with his son and all.
"Damn pirates."
