Hello guys, O6 here. Welcome back to "IF ELENA OF AVALOR WAS MODERN!" This is the second episode. Starting now I will be adding a part of a story at the end of every other episode (though this may fluctuate), but I will not tell anything or answer any questions about the story, because it will be revealed when I finish the au. When that time comes, I will post the entire story on here, and questions will be answered. But until then, this is what I've got. Anyways, if you have suggestions on how anything looks or how I can make it better, please let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Side notes:
Aridas- A brand made in Avalor for sportswear and shoes, similar to Adidas but with two stripes only.
Hola Cola- A soda from Avalor that tates the same aa Coca-Cola, but has a lighter color.

Elena and castle staff were walking toward the grand council meeting room. They were asking her a few things.
Armando: Princess, you'be got a lot to do today.
Staff: Your majesty, pink or purple?
Elena: Love the purple. Is everyone ready for the meeting Armando?
Armando: What meeting?
Staff1: Roses or Tunics?
Elena: Both. The grand council meeting we have every morning.
Armando: Oh that's every morning?
Elena: Starting today.
Armando: I should probably add that to my schedule, huh? (Starts to repeatedly tap his tablet) Oh, I need you to sign this very important proclamation for the royal visit tomorrow!
Elena: Okay! (Goes to grab the pen to sign but hears clanging and wiring) Oh.
Armando: What's that racket?
Elena: My little sister.
Elena goes inside her sister's room. She sees a big grey rubber box with a door in the front, a tiny conveyer belt on the floor leading through the door, multiple sets of wiring, and a big enclosed battery to the side.
Elena: Uh, how's it going Isabel?
Isabel: I just finished.
Armando: Finished what?
Isabel: My latest invention, the presto changer! It puts your clothes on for you. Think of how much time everyone would save!
Armando: Oh...I'll never have mismatched socks again! (Flexes his green sock and yellow sock)
Elena: Isabel is entering it in the invention fair today. Inventors from all over the kingdom are presenting their latest creations.
Isabel: I put some clothes in here that are Aridas brand. I hope I get sponsored! And Elena's gonna be my helper.
Elena: OOH! Let's test it out.
Elena gets on the conveyer. Isabel clicks an option on a menu.
Isabel: Get ready! (Presses a big red button)
After the button is pressed, the conveyer moves and Elena quickly goes into the machine as the doors to it opens. A few seconds later, she comes out almost falling and is wearing an Aridas tracksuit and shoes. Then the machine sprays water on her face with an Aridas water bottle.
Isabel: No! The water bottle is supposed to go in your hand!
Elena: (wipes her face) Well, the point of a test run is to work out the kinks, now you know the kink.
Isabel: True, but what if something else goes wrong?
Elena: I'll be right by your side to help fix it. I promise.
Isabel: Thanks Elena. (Hugs)
The grand council members are waiting in the meeting room for Elena to come and start. Suddenly Elena comes running in.
Elena: Morning everyone! Sorry I'm a little late. I was with Isabel...
Esteban (banging the gavel): The grand council meeting is called to order.
Francisco: Esteban, the crown princess is supposed to do that.
Esteban: Oh, of course (hands him the gavel) what was I thinking?
Elena: (receives the gavel): The grand council will now come to order.
Elena bangs the gavel twice and loud, to which Esteban covers his ears. Also looking quite annoyed with this.
Elena: Thank you. So, big week, as everyone knows, King Toshi is visiting us from the kingdom of Satu. How are the preparations coming?
Luisa: The royal chef will be serving an Avaloran feast. Since this is a special occasion, I'm making the tamales myself!
Francisco: And I have prepared a special song. (gets his guitar and starts strumming)
Esteban: No, no, no, no, no, this is King Toshi's first visit to Avalor, and we must show him we understand his ways. We must prepare Satu food, we must play Satu music.
Elena: But, if this is his first time in Avalor, wouldn't he be interested in how we do things here?
Esteban: I have been to the kingdom of Satu many times, and I know it better than anyone. What will impress King Toshi most is doing things the Satu way.
Luisa: But what about my tamales?
Naomi: Oh, they won't go to waste. You should really sell some, or add them to restaurants. They're the bomb!
Francisco: If Esteban is right, we cannot afford to offend King Toshi.
Esteban: And I am sure Elena wants her first royal visit as crown princess to go well.
Elena: I do. Alright, let's put it to a vote! All in favor of doing everything the Satu way raise your hands.
Everyone raises their hands, besides Luisa, who crosses her arms and scoffs, looking away.
Elena: Great! Now, since you're the expert Esteban, you can teach us the Satu ways.
Esteban: Oh, you don't have to worry about that. I will handle everything.
Elena: But if the point is to do things their way, we should all know them.
Esteban: Em, (stutters) yes, but I am incredibly busy.
CPT Higgins: Uh, actually you're free all afternoon Chancellor.
Esteban: (clenched teeth) Thank you Higgins..
Elena: Perfect!
Everyone gets up to prepare for learning the Satu way and goes toward the door while Esteban stays sitting, rolling his eyes. Elena realizes she's forgot to officially end the meeting and she goes to bang the gavel hard, to Esteban's annoyance.
Elena: Meeting adjourned.
The grand council goes to the dining hall where they are met with a rack of traditional Satu clothing.
Esteban: These are the gowns that have been worn in Satu since their beginning. Though not used very much today, they are still a tradition that some follow.
Elena: Ooh, pretty! I'll take that one! (points to a pink floral gown)
Esteban: Now we will learn to eat with chopsticks, like they do in Satu.
Everyone is given a plate of peas and wooden chopsticks. Then they try hard to grab peas with them.
Esteban: Do not worry if you cannot do it right away, it took me years to perf-
Naomi: Hey, I think I got it.
Esteban: Ugh..
Elena grabs a pea with the chopsticks, but it quickly launches into the air, landing into Captain Higgins's mouth. Isabel enters the dining hall.
Isabel: Elena?
Esteban: Keep practicing, you still have a few hours before King Toshi arrives.
Elena: Wha- he's coming today!?
Isabel: Today? But what about the invention fair?
Elena: Oh! Isabel, um, don't worry I-I'm still going with you.
Francisco: Elena, I know you want to help your sister. But it is your royal duty to host King Toshi.
To this Isabel walks back to her room looking sad.
Elena: Wait, Isabel! I thought King Toshi was coming tomorrow.
Esteban: Oh, he left a day early. I thought I told you.
Luisa: You did not tell any of us, you-
Elena: Abuela, chill. He's not here yet, so I'll just go down to the invention fair, help Isa set up and be back before he arrives.
Francisco: I don't know, Elena. Do you have enough time?
Esteban: Oh, she has plenty of time. King Toshi's not expected until this afternoon.
Elena: Great, I'll be back before you know it.
Naomi: I'm gonna head to my house to tell my parents I'm meeting a king later!
Everyone leaves the dining hall to do their thing, while Esteban speaks with Higgins.
Esteban: This is turning out better than I hoped, Higgins!
Higgins: What is, Chancellor?
Esteban: I wanted Elena to be unprepared for King Toshi's visit, so I could show off my expertise. But now, she might not even be here at all.
Higgins: So that's why you didn't tell them King Toshi was coming today.
Esteban: You catch on quickly, Higgins.
Higgins: Thank you.
Esteban: Once King Toshi sees how well I know his ways, he will trust me to make the trade agreement, and it will be clear to everyone who is the real power on the throne.
Higgins: Uhh, Princess Elena?
Esteban harshly grabs Higgins by the cheek.
Esteban: Me! And I have a special surprise for King Toshi that will close the deal.
Higgins (in Esteban's grasp on his face): Ooh, what is it? Tell me, tell me, tell me!
Esteban: You will see soon enough, Higgins
He lets go of his face and walks away chuckling. Meanwhile, Isabel sits on the conveyer of her invention, sulking. Then Elena and Gabe enter.
Elena: Alright! Let's pack up and get going.
Isabel: But I thought you didn't have time to help me.
Elena: Isa, I always have time for you. Now let's get going, we must use our sister time in the best ways we can, while we still can.
Elena and Isabel leave the room, with Gabe carrying the invention in a cart. Armando keeps trying to get Elena to sign something, but she can't. Then they get in the limo (with a bigger cart connected to the back), and Armando throws the scroll to Elena and she signs it, then throws it back. During the ride, Gabe sits while Rico dances to music in his headphones and drives. A few minutes later, they arrive at the convention/community center where the invention fair is being held. The parking lot at that place has many cars and people, and they just park at the front of the entrance. Gabe, Elena and Isabel get off.
Gabe: I'll grab a cart for the...th-th-the thing.
Elena: Thanks, Gabe.
Isabel: Elena, this is for you (takes out a small box revealing a small necklace). I made you a necklace out of spare parts.
Elena: (puts the necklace on) Aw, I love it!
Elena hugs Isabel and she hugs back.
Isabel: Thanks for always being here for me.
As they keep hugging, Elena looks up and sees a car with King Toshi in it pass by. After the hug finishes, she goes to take a closer look, and realizes that King Toshi is already there.
Gabe: I found a cart!
Elena: Cart! Great! Let's get this thing inside and set up.
Elena quickly brings the invention inside as Isabel tries to tell her that they don't need to rush. Elena accidentally passes their booth, goes back towards it, goes inside, then stops. The invention slips off the cart and hits the ground with a loud bang, as a few pieces fall out. Elena gasps.
Isabel: My invention!
Elena: I'm sorry, Isa. I-is it?
Isabel: It's okay, I can fix it. (Opens her tool bag and searches) I just need my drill. I must have left it back at the palace.
Elena: The palace? No problem, I'll get it.
Gabe: No need, I'll grab it and be back before you know it.
Elena: Oh, no no no, it'll be way easier for me to find it, I know exactly where it is, it's blue right?
Isabel: Red.
Elena: With a plastic handle?
Isabel: Rubber.
Elena: ON IT!
Elena runs out of the building and gets back in the limo to be driven to the palace before King Toshi gets there. Unfortunately he is closer than she is.
Elena: Oh, we're not gonna make it!
Suddenly Skylar appears.
Skylar: Race you to the palace princesa!
Elena: Skylar! Yes! Um, I have a better idea. How about you give me a lift and we race that car!
Skylar: You got it, but there's no time to stop. On the count of three, jump. One-
Elena jumps onto Skylar before he finishes.
Skylar: I said on three.
Elena: I don't have time for two or three, let's go!
Skylar: Hold on!
They speed away toward the palace, getting there faster than King Toshi's car. The car arrives at the palace as Luisa, Francisco and Armando (holding many documents) walk to the entrance.
Armando: King Toshi...KING TOSHI IS HERE! (Throws all his documents in the air)
Luisa: Already?
Francisco: Where is Elena?
Esteban: Not to worry, I will greet King Toshi on her behalf.
Elena and Skylar arrive at the balcony of Isabel's room and she gets off, and hurried inside. She started going through her main toolbox that had many tools inside.
Elena: Hammer...screwdriver...no idea what this is...(gasp) drill!
After finding the drill, Elena grabs her Satu outfit, and heads to the palace entrance. Two men in suits walk to the palace entrance
Esteban: Ahh, King-
Elena rushes in and pushes Esteban out of the way.
Elena: Toshi! (Shakes hand) On behalf of my kingdom, welcome to Avalor.
Toshi: We are honored to be here, Princess Elena. This is Shoji, my royal advisor. Please accept this gift on behalf of my kingdom: a fan, made from the finest silk in Satu.
Elena: It's beautiful. Thank you. This is my grandmother Luisa, and my grandfather Francisco, and you already know my cousin Esteban.
Esteban: Chancellor Esteban. Oh, and is that something for King Toshi, Elena?
Elena: This? (Nervous laugh) Yes (another nervous laugh) It's a drill, made from the finest rubber, plastic, and steel from Avalor.
Toshi: Ahh, I haven't seen these for a while. But what I've never seen was the very nice architecture of this palace.
Elena: Oh! Would you like a tour, my grandparents can lead you on one. They know all about its history...(takes the drill back) let me hang on to this for you. So you don't have to carry it around.
Francisco: You are the crown princess, Elena. You should lead the tour.
Elena: Oh, y-yes of course. Right this way...
Elena walks into the palace with everyone following, as she genuinely looks nervous about getting back to Isabel. Meanwhile, Isabel is trying to fix her invention, she looks into the wiring, then moves up to look at the mechanical part with a wrench.
Isabel: If If I move a bolt over here, and another one over there, the piece should snap back into place-no it's stuck. Ugh, I really need that twist hook (throws the wrench)
Gabe: Back in the old days, when the drawbridge got stuck, they had a trick to get it moving again.
Gabe goes over to the back of the invention and punches the middle. This causes him to start screaming and grip his hand in pain.
Isabel: HEY, you-
The machine starts to run.
Isabel: Wow, that actually may have worked. Okay, let's try testing it out. Do you mind?
Gabe: Not at all.
Gabe gets on the conveyer of the machine, Isabel presses a few buttons, and soon Gabe is forcefully pulled into the machine. A few moments later he comes out wearing a Aridas crop top and pants that were way to small for him, socks, and shoes on his hands. Then water is sprayed in his face with a bottle.
Gabe: Uhh, was it supposed to do that?
Isabel: No, there must be something else that's still broken. What is taking Elena so long? She should be back by now.
Back in the palace, Elena is doing the tour as quickly as she can.
Elena: And here's the parlor, the music room, drawing room, sitting room, which is the perfect place to sit, and take a nap! You must be exhausted from your journey.
Toshi: Thank you, but I'm not tired at all.
Esteban: Nah, Elena, (tut-tuts) there are no siestas in Satu. (Wraps arm around Toshi) I have planned a full afternoon of festivities. A lavish Satu feast, followed by a concert of Satu music, last but not least a special surprise I know you will love. So, Ellet is begun shall we?
Elena stands at the bottom of the stairs silently, while Esteban waits.
Esteban: Coming Elena?
Elena: Right behind you, cousin.
Elena starts walking until she sees Naomi running towards the entrance to the palace, and she smiles.
Naomi: Hey, Armando. Sorry I'm late.
Elena grabs Naomi and pulls her away fast before Armando can greet her.
Armando: (looks up from his documents) Oh hi, Nao- Naomi?
Elena brings Naomi into one of the storage closets and locks the door.
Elena: I need your help.
Naomi: What is it?
After a few minutes, Elena and Naomi came out wearing each other's outfits.
Naomi: There is no way this will work.
Elena: Of course it will. All you have to do is sit at the table and pretend to be me. I'll give this drill to Isabel and be right back.
Naomi: Are you sure no one will recognize me?
Elena: Not with the hood over your hair and this fan covering your face.
Naomi: But I can't see anything.
Elena: Perfect! That means they won't be able to see you.
Naomi: You better hurry.
The family and the King are waiting for Elena to come so they can eat. They all continuously sit silent.
Francisco: Is Elena coming?
The door opens and Naomi disguised as Elena comes in and sits down, almost falling to the ground since her face is covered with the fan.
Esteban: Oh, Elena.
Francisco: Oh good, you're here. We can begin.
Luisa: Where is Naomi.
Esteban: We can not wait any longer.
Esteban snaps his fingers and castle staff bring in Satu food.
Esteban: A Satu feast, with all your favorite dishes. Princess Elena, why don't you show King Toshi your chopstick skills.
Naomi eats her food with the chopsticks perfectly. Esteban is confused.
Toshi: Impressive.
Esteban: Uh, but this morning...
Francisco: Oh, my granddaughter is a fast learner.
Luisa: Hmm...
Elena arrives at the community center with Skylar and runs inside to where Isabel is.
Elena: I'm here!
Isabel: What took you so long, and why did you change.
Elena: Uhh, wardrobe malfunction? I got your drill!
Isabel: I already fixed that part, but the cigs are out of alignment. I have to move around 50 different bolts to get them back.
The machine heats up and a gear falls out.
Isabel: Make that 51.
Elena: Is there anything I can do to help?
Isabel: I wish there was, but I have to do it myself.
Elena: Great! I mean, okay, if that's what you want. I'll just be right back.
Isabel: Where are you going now?
Elena: Uh, to get a drink! Want one?
Isabel: No.
Gabe: I'll take an Hola Cola.
Elena: One Hola Cola coming up!
Elena yet again descends back to the palace. Gabe and Isabel look at each other, and he just shrugs. Meanwhile, the royals sit as they watch dancers perform to traditional Satu music. As Naomi covers her face, a bug flies around it and she ends up whacking her nose with the fan. Suddenly someone whispers to her from afar.
Elena: Psst. Naomi!
Elena motions Naomi to come to her, and she excuses herself. They go to the same closet to change to their original outfits.
Elena: So, what'd I miss?
Naomi: Me, almost getting caught! Do you know how hard it is to use chopsticks with a fan covering your face.
Suddenly the door opens to reveal Elena's grandmother.
Luisa: But you made it looks so easy, Naomi.
Elena: Abuela!
Luisa: You went back to the Invention Fair, didn't you?
Elena: Yes, I'm sorry.
Luisa: Mija, this is your first royal visit.
Elena: I know, I know, but Isa's having trouble with her invention.
Luisa: She is?
Elena: I need to be there for her.
Luisa: Alright, go. I'll cover for you. But no more of this silly swapping. Just hurry back before your cousin's big surprise.
Elena: I will. (Kisses her grandma) Thank you.
Elena hurries off, and Luisa and Naomi look at each other, then Naomi shrugs.
——
Later, musicians perform traditional Satu music as everyone watches. Luisa comes back with Naomi.
Luisa: Elena will be right back, but looks who's here! Naomi.
Naomi: Hey, your majesty.
Elena arrives at the invention fair with Skylar, who looks very tired.
Elena: Be right back.
Skylar: Take your time!
Elena goes inside to see Isabel using her presto changer and see Gabe come out of the machine with shorts in his head as more mechanical parts burst out.
Isabel: No! It should be working!!
Elena: It's okay, I'm sure we can fix it.
Gabe: What just happened?
Isabel: Where have you been?
Gabe: And where's my soda?
Elena just guiltily looks away. Isabel notices Elena wearing her Satu shoes and realizes.
Isabel: Hey, you weren't wearing those slippers before. You went back to the palace, that's where you've been going!
Elena: Yes, a king is visiting, Isa. I want to be here with you but I have to be there for King Toshi. And our kingdom.
Isabel: You said you would always make time for me.
Elena: I know, I know, but today-
Isabel: You have more important things to do.
Elena: No, I-
Isabel: It's okay. I can fix the machine myself.
Elena: Isabel-
Isabel: Just go, Elena.
Elena: I'm sorry, Isa.
Elena goes back to the palace to see Esteban's "surprise." She takes a seat between Toshi and Armando.
Armando: Oh hey! You're just in time for Esteban's big surprise.
Esteban: King Toshi, to show our honor and respect, I have learned to perform the most cherished, and difficult Satu dance. The dance, of the fluttering fans.
Esteban and other dancers start to perform moves with fans.
Francisco: Esteban is dancing?
Naomi: Woah, I definitely didn't see that coming.
Esteban continues to dance, but the extra long ribbon on his hat goes into his face, and he starts to blow it away. As he does this however, he bumps into another dancer, and keeps repeating, "Aye." Then he just stops, and a fan flutters almost in his face. They keep dancing in circles as Esteban keeps trying to blow away the ribbon. Then he starts to tremble, and lose balance. He steps in one of the musician's drums and it gets stuck in his feet. King Toshi cringes. Two women are fluttering their fans when Esteban pushes them.
Esteban: Sorry, y perdon.
One of the women run into the divided and it tips over. It falls right onto her, but her body goes through it and the divider rips. Everyone watching is shocked.
Francisco: Ugh, just tell me when it's over.
Luisa: I can't, I'm not looking either.
Francisco: We can make him stop.
Toshi: No, no, I promised the chancellor he could show me his surprise. And in Satu it is very important to keep your promises. No matter how painful they are to watch.
Upon hearing that, Elena reflects on what she promised for Isabel.
Elena: You're right, King Toshi. Promises are important in Avalor too. I think we'd make great trade allies and I'm really sorry to do this, but I made a promise to help my sister at the invention fair, and I must put my family first. I hope you understand.
Elena walks out of the ballroom to get back to the invention fair, soon followed by King Toshi and Shoji standing up and whispering to each other, then speaking.
Shoji: Thank you for hosting us, but we must go.
They leave as everyone stares in shock. Esteban pushes himself in from of everyone.
Esteban: Ay, no. This is a diplomatic catastrophe. Elena is clearly not ready for the responsibility that comes with the crown.
Esteban tries go bring Toshi back but trips with the drum still in his foot. At the invention fair, Isabel is packing all of her stuff.
Gabe: Alright, two more inventors and then you're up. Hey, what are you doing?
Isabel: Packing up.
Elena: You can't quit!
Isabel: What are you doing here?
Elena: Keeping my promise.
Isabel: What about your big royal visit?
Elena: No royal duty will ever be as important as you. Now let's get this thing fixed.
Isabel: There's no way I can fix the machine in time.
Elena: Maybe you can't, but I know we can. All we need is a little sister time.
Elena hugs Isabel, and she hugs back.
Elena: So where do we start?
Isabel: Well, I need the pliers.
Elena looks into the bag nervously, clearly not knowing what the pliers were.
Isabel: The pincher thingy?
Elena: (picks up a blue handled tool) Got em.
Isabel calls out supplies she needs and Elena passes them to her. As this is done, Isabel was working in her machine, trying to figure out the problem. Then she discovers something.
Isabel: Oh, that's why the cogs keep coming loose. The chain is broken, and I don't have another one.
Elena: Okay, don't panic. We can figure this out, we just need to get creative. Hey, what about my necklace? It kinda looks like a chain.
Isabel: (takes the necklace) You're right! It's the right length, but I don't know if it's strong enough.
Elena: Well there's only one way to find out.
Gabe: Here comes the judge.
Isabel inserts the chain into the machine as the judge comes in.
Judge: Are you ready to present your invention?
Elena: She sure is! (To Isabel) Let's do this.
Isabel gets the machine ready and Elena goes into it very quickly. She stays in there for a few moments as everyone watches. Then she emerges with the same Aridas outfit as last time, and the machine gives her the water bottle rather than spray it in her face. The people watching clap. Suddenly King Toshi comes.
Toshi: Princess Elena.
Elena: King Toshi!
Esteban: Please allow me to explain, your excellency.
Toshi stops Esteban from talking anymore.
Toshi: Family is first in Satu as well. Which is why I always travel with my brother.
Elena: So, you're not upset I left?
Toshi: Not at all. I already know what Satu is like. The purpose of my trip is to experience the sights and sounds of Avalor. But what has really impressed me, is how you value your family as much as your kingdom. This is exactly what I look for in an ally.
Elena: Then you'll be our new trade partner?
Toshi: I would be honored.
Everyone is happy while Esteban stands there gloomy. And yet again the ribbon from his hat goes into his face.
Luisa: Oh, I'm so proud of you.
Toshi notices the drill in Isabel's toolbox.
Toshi: Oh, is that my twisthook?
Luisa makes a face at Elena and she nervously laughs. They all head back to the palace where Toshi and Shoji experience the Avaloran ways. First they get dressed with the presto changer and wear Aridas outfits.
Shoji: Looking good, brother. What a marvelous invention!
Isabel smiles, knowing her invention was successful and that the two brothers enjoyed. Then they go to the dining hall where they eat something Luisa made.
Francisco: Please enjoy the tamales my dear Luisa has prepared for you.
Toshi: Thank you.
Elena: You open it like a present. And then, dig in!
The two of them open their tamales and eat the whole thing in one bite, visibly enjoying it.
Toshi: Oh, my. This is delicious!
Francisco: And now I will play one of favorite Avaloran songs.
A staff member hands Francisco his guitar and he strums. Esteban tries to eat the tamale with his chopsticks but the tamale goes flying.
Toshi: Chancellor Esteban, when in Avalor, perhaps you should do it the Avaloran way.
Esteban takes the fork Toshi offered, but yet again, the ribbon went in his face. Elena and Isabel talk.
Isabel: Thank you Elena. You were really there for me today.
Elena: That's what sisters do.
Elena and Isabel embrace in a hug. Then Luisa brings out a camera and motions everyone to pose at the table for a group photo. After that, they continue eating and chatting.

And now for part 1 of an unknown story...(most of the characters will be OCs but the POV is of a character in this show that I will not reveal yet, but if you find out somehow that's okay)
I found myself face first on a path of grass and stone. Upon gettin up, I notice I'm on a village that looks nothing like my home. Then someone in a cloak comes running over to me.
Woman: Are you alright?
Me: Where am I?
Woman: You're in Crestley.
Me: Is Tepet Muul nearby?
