Thank you all so much for the reviews and I am sorry for the cliffhanger. I had to stop it somewhere. I am giving this one to you all a few days early as a bonus.
Everyone heard a loud explosion and ran out of the buildings. Christian and Jason see Ana and Gail fly through the air. He isn't fast enough to save her from hitting the pavement and another explosion goes off.
"Noooooo….nooooo….Anaaaaa. Anaaaaaa….answer me love….Annie Roseeeee…."
He falls to the ground crying and screaming for her.
Jason runs up to him and drags him away from the flying debris of glass and metal.
He runs back with some of the guys to move Ana and Gail. He knows he shouldn't but they have to be moved away from the fire and debris that is falling over them.
Chris crawls over to Ana and holds her.
"Oh my god Annie Rose wake up baby please wake up. I need you, you can't leave me not now, we have our whole life together. We have a wedding and a family to start. Oh god Annie Rose I need you baby please wake up and let me see those beautiful eyes."
He cries holding her tight.
"Chris the paramedics are here you have to let them work on her."
He breaks down more crying and shaking. He is going into shock. Jason sees this and calls another paramedic over to Chris.
"Chris you have to let her go, they need to check her over."
They get him away from Ana and check him out and sure enough he is about to go into shock.
Jason runs over to Gail and checks on her. She is unconscious too and the paramedics are working on her.
"Someone go and bring me Floyd Atkins now."
Jason is yelling.
"Don't let that son of a bitch leave this yard."
Jason looks up and sees him looking at them laughing.
"Sawyer catch him before he leaves. He is standing in the door laughing. Run his ass down."
The fire department has arrived and they are putting out the fire. The cops are here and if you look you will see every cop for miles here. Someone called SWAT for the bombing. The yard is so full of cars the family is having a hard time coming in.
Someone called their parents and they all just pulled up and jumped out of the car. They see the destruction of Annie's helicopter and see her on the ground with the paramedics working on her. Gail is on the ground with paramedics working on her. Chris is on the ground with a paramedic talking to him.
"Oh my god no, no, not my baby. Annieeeee…oh Ray what is going on?"
Ray is as stunned by what he sees as everyone else is. He can't speak for a few minutes.
"Carla I don't know why but it looks like an explosion."
Grace runs over to Chris and holds him.
"Chris honey, talk to me. Tell us what happened. Come on Chris, talk to me."
"I am sorry ma'am but he is in shock. I heard from his CPO that he saw her fly through the air and land on the ground. He will need to be taken to the hospital as well."
"Oh my god, who would do something like this and why?"
"Ma'am I don't know but I am sure they will find out who did this. I am sorry but I need to get him on a gurney and on to the hospital. Ana is his fiancée right?"
"Yes…yes she is. I would ask how you know her but everyone knows her and Chris."
"Yes ma'am we do, we have all taken flights with both of them at one time or another."
"Alright Mrs. Grey, they have him loaded in the ambulance. Would you like to ride with him?"
"Yes please."
'Carrick I am going with Chris to the hospital."
He nods his head and waves to her,
They are working on Ana and Gail.
"Oh my lord Gail, Gail can you hear me?"
"She screams Ana." and is unconscious again.
"Sir, sir she has a possible broken arm and hand from the way it looks and her leg is definitely broken."
They stabilized her and put her in an ambulance and took off.
Jason wants to go but he can't leave Ana.
Carla and Ray are standing there holding each other crying praying that their little Annie will be alright.
All of a sudden they hear,
"Code Blue, code blue, get me the damn paddles we have to save her."
They grab the paddles and rip her shirt open and start to work on her.
"Clear. Again nothing. Clear dammit, Clear. Dammit."
He grabs a tube and inserts the tube down her throat for her breathing.
The other paramedic is working on her with chest compressions.
"I have a faint heartbeat, Ron let's get her on the backboard and in the air. Thank god the medic was able to land here."
"Mr. Steele, we are flying her to the hospital. We have a heartbeat. We will see you there sir."
"We will be right there."
Carla passes out in Ray's arms.
Ana hasn't come to yet. They are working on her as fast as they can.
"We are losing her again, make sure that tube is still in place. Dammit, let's get loaded. We have to work fast. Be careful she has a broken arm and both legs are broken. We have to make sure she is stabilized first."
As they leave Jason sees the paramedic jump on Ana's chest as they put her in the helicopter.
"Ryan follow them. There is no room on the chopper for you. Stay with them when they bring her, Chris and Gail in. Do not leave them. I am sending Cory and Adrian to be with you all. Make sure that you tell them you all are CPOs for them."
"Yes sir."
"Mr. Steele, is Mrs. Steele going to be ok?"
"Yes son she just passed out. Do you have any smelling salts?"
"Yes sir, be right back."
He walks back to Ray and breaks the stick and puts it up to Carla's nose. She stirs and looks around.
"Is she my Annie?"
"No love she is alive, they are loading her up now. We will go with Ryan now. Come on, we have to hurry. They airlifted Annie."
"Jason, you should have gone with Gail."
"I couldn't leave Ana besides I have to talk to someone. We think we know you did this but not why."
"Where is the bastard Jason?"
"You all go on to the hospital. I will take care of him. Tell Gail if she wakes up before I get there I love her."
"Alright we will."
They all leave and Jason is on a mission.
He walks over to where Sawyer has the guy pinned to the ground and not letting him up.
Jason bends down and looks at him.
"Sawyer pull his ass up."
"Now Floyd Atkins I want some answers. Why were you looking at Ms. Steele, like you wanted to kill her?"
"I have nothing to say to you."
"Well I think you do and you better start talking because I know for a fact it was you that did this. You were standing here in the door laughing as the helicopter blew up. What do you have against Ms. Steele?"
"I have nothing to say to you Mr. CPO."
Jason and Luke look at each other and then him again.
"Yeah big man I know you and him and the blonde are their CPOs. I knew it years ago and I told that little bitch I could find anything on the web and lookie lookie I did."
"What the hell did she do to you?"
"She and Christian thought they were better than all of us. They didn't like any of us. Oh she will figure it out if she doesn't have amnesia after flying through the air and landing on her head. Well then big Chris will have to unravel the puzzle."
"Take this piece of shit away before I do something I will regret, Wayne."
"Floyd Atkins you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Anastasia Steele and Gail Jones. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say and will be used against. You have the right to have an attorney. If you cannot afford one one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? With these rights in mind do you wish to speak to me?
"I will only say that they knew me but they don't know me now."
They all look at each other and wonder if he is crazy.
"Just a riddle for you CPOs to figure out."
"Nope, nothing to say to you either. Just that he will figure it out..pointing at Jason or her Christian will when he thinks back."
"Get him out of here."
"Jason, do you have any idea what he was talking about?"
"I might but I need to talk to Christian, Anastasia's fiancée. This might have something to do with when they were younger. But I need clarification first. I have to get to the hospital. If you need me you will find me there."
"Alright, yes go I know Gail is there too."
"Oh my lord Luke what the hell is going on?"
"I have to agree with Jason this has to do with when they were younger but not sure yet what it might be."
"Ok I'll let you go and secure this place. Good thing the helicopters are away from this side of the yard."
"Yes you are so right. They have two that will probably be sold by Monday."
"I will talk to you later Luke. We are going to grill this guy until he breaks. Tell the Steeles and the Greys they are in our prayers."
"I will do that Wayne."
Before Wayne can walk away someone walks over to them in uniform.
The bomb expert walks over to Luke and Captain Wayne Murphy.
"Hey guys my name is Jeff Barnes and I am with SWAT. I am a bomb expert and I not only found the two bombs that went off there was another one under the bottom of the chopper. My guess is if the ones he set first didn't go off he would make sure the one under the chopper did blow."
"Oh my god he did mean to kill Annie."
"We have him for attempted murder on two counts. Luke calm down."
"I am sorry my name is Luke Sawyer and I am a CPO for the Greys and Steeles."
"Mr. Sawyer I assume you will be shutting this place down? We need to do a complete investigation on everything. No helicopters going out until we clear everything."
"That won't be a problem we are closed on the weekend unless they have a sale."
"That is good to hear because we will be crawling all over this place for the next few days. I need some of your guys here to help us, Mr. Sawyer. I know they won't like us being here without their security."
"Yes sir I will have some guys here and I will check in frequently. Jason Taylor is over all of us but with Gail being hurt he is at the hospital with her and watching over Ana and Chris."
"Alright well I need to get back to my guys. Give them my best. I will be in touch."
"Yes sir, thank you."
"Ryan what's the word? How are they?"
"Ana is still unconscious but she is breathing on her own now. It was touch and go before they got her stable enough to take off the helicopter. She is in ICU and Critical."
"My lord, that sweet girl."
"Gail has woken up again but all she did was scream for Ana again. Now she is just sitting there in bed crying silently. Chris is a basket case. He is still in shock over seeing Ana and Gail flying through the air. They had to sedate him and he was screaming for Ana."
"Damn how the hell did this guy get past all the background checks? He sounds like he knew them when they were younger. I am thinking of possibly college. He said Ana rejected him so many times in front of her friends I guess he wanted to get her back. But damn wanting her dead he is a messed up man."
"Yeah that's what Jason said he thinks it's about college from the way the guy was talking. Yeah man he is one sick bastard."
"How's the family doing?"
"Ray and Carrick are holding it together, the ladies not so much."
"Did the guys show up to help you?"
"Yes they got here not long after they landed on the roof with Ana. I'll keep in touch with you. Got to go Elliot just came storming in and wants answers."
"Ok take care of it. Before I forget, tell Jason to call me tonight."
"Will do."
Damn what a mess. How the hell did this happen? How did that guy get by all of our checks on him?
Now Elliot
"Where is Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele and Gail Jones at? What damn floor are they on? I need to know now."
"Excuse me sir but who are you and what relation are you to them?"
Elliot looks at her like she is crazy.
"I am Elliot Grey, Christian Grey is my brother, Anastasia Steele is my soon to be sister in law and Gail Jones is a friend and Ms. Steele's CPO. Now where the hell are they at. They were brought in from a bombing."
"Elliot calm down and I will take you to the waiting room where the family is. Come on, let's go. I am sorry ma'am but he is worried about his family."
"Come on Ryan let's go. I will apologize later."
They walk down the hall to the elevator and get on. Neither saying anything. Just before the doors open.
"What the hell happened Ryan? All I know is that a bomb explosion went off and Ana and Gail got hurt and Chris is in shock."
Before he could answer the doors opened.
Jason was standing there with his phone to his ear.
"Jason, how is Gail? Man I am so sorry this happened to her and Ana."
"Gail is awake but they think she is in shock. She hasn't spoken since she screamed Ana's name. She is going to be black and blue and sore as hell and she has a broken arm and hand from trying to protect her head and a broken leg. Thank god the way she landed her hands saved her from falling on her head."
"How is Ana?"
"Not good El, not good at all. She is in a coma and they had to revive her at the company with paddles and when they put her on the helicopter one of the paramedics jumped on her chest to bring her back. It was touch and go and she is in ICU and Critical. They have run tests on her and her brain. She landed on her head and has a broken arm and two broken legs. Everyone is waiting on the results of the tests."
"Chris is in shock from watching her fly through the air and fall on the pavement. He wasn't fast enough to save her from the fall. Then another bomb went off and debris was flying everywhere."
"Oh my god they all have to be alright. Oh lord Chris won't make it if he loses his Annie Rose we all know that."
"Don't talk like that, she is going to be fine, you hear me just fine."
Chris yells at him. No one saw him come out of his room.
"Yes Chris she is going to be fine."
"Where is the family?"
"Come on with us."
They see Chris walking in the room with Elliot and Ryan.
"Chris what are you doing out of bed son? How are you feeling? We were so worried about you you went into shock and they had to sedate you. You were screaming Annie's name over and over."
"I am alright, I really am ok. Where is my girl? Please tell me is alright?"
"Chris she is in a coma in the ICU and in Critical Condition. She is breathing on her own now but it was touch and go."
"Chris come here son."
"Momma Carla, I tried to get to her before she fell. I just wasn't fast enough. I tried, I really tried, I just couldn't get to her quick enough."
He falls down on the floor crying and Carla falls down with him.
"Shh sweet boy we know, we know. She will be ok when she is going to wake up. They have run some tests on her to check everything out. She does have a broken arm where she tried to protect her head when she fell."
He knows they are not telling him something.
"Ok what are you keeping from me. This is my love, my life please tell me Carla."
"Chris, they are running more tests on her brain. They think there might be some swelling."
"Oh my god no, no, nooooo.. please no."
"Shh Chris, shhh.."
Carla rocks him back and forth.
"Here comes the doctor Chris."
"Mr. Grey I see you are up."
"Yes, Dr. Blackmon and I feel fine. What is going on with my fiancée Annie Rose, my fiancée please tell me she is alright?"
"I assume you are talking about Anastasia?"
"Yes I am, I call her Annie Rose. How is she?"
"She is in a coma in ICU Chris and we have run some tests on her brain to see if there is any swelling. I am waiting for the test to come back very soon. It was touch and go I was told as they got her prepared to lifeflight her here. I will say she is breathing on her own now. She had some fluid on her lungs from the impact of landing on her front so we inserted a chest tube to drain it. I will be taking that out in the next few days. I am leaving it in just case it happens again. I cannot give any of you a time when she will come out of the coma. It could be a day, a week I don't know but I will say it is a good thing because she would be in some pain from the fall. She has two broken legs and a broken arm."
"Thank you Dr. Blackmon."
"Yes Ray and I wish I could give you better news."
"Dr. Blackmon, can I go and see her please?"
"Yes Chris but only for a few minutes and someone needs to be with you. The reason being I don't want you to be alone when you see her because you might pass out even though you say you are fine. She is hooked up to wires and there are machines going off every few seconds. They are reading her brain waves and her heart rate. Her face is swollen from the fall."
"Thank you Dr. Blackmon."
"I need you back in your room after you see her. I have to check you over and discharge you young man."
"Yes sir, I will be back in a little while. Carla, come with me?"
She walks over to Chris and he puts his arm around her and they walk out.
"Ray you all can go up to the ICU floor waiting area and you can visit Ana two at a time but only for a few minutes please."
"Thank you Drake for taking care of our family."
"It's my job Ray and I will do everything I can for Ana. Now go on up to the ICU all of you and find a seat and sit down and wait your turn to see Ana. You all look like you are about to pass out. I would tell you all to go home but I know that will go in one ear and out the other."
"Yes doc you got that right."
"I will see you all when I have the test results."
Chris and Carla get on the elevator and take it up to the ICU floor. The doors open and they walk out still holding on to each other.
"Excuse me Nurse Addison, we are looking for Anastasia Steele's room. I am her fiancée Christian Grey and this is her mother Carla Steele. Dr. Blackmon said we could see her for a few minutes."
"Of course Mr. Grey and Mrs. Steele, if you will follow me I will take you to her room. Her room number is 501 right beside the nurses station."
"How is she doing? Is she in any pain?"
"She is still in a coma and no she is not in any pain. We are taking very good care of Anastasia."
"She is right in there. Be careful of the wires and machines."
They walk in and see her. She looks so little in that big bed.
"Oh my goodness my baby Annie I love you so much baby girl."
Carla cries and Chris has to help her find a seat before she falls.
"Carla, sit down here."
Chris walks over to her bed and leans down and kisses her forehead so gently cause she is black and blue from her forehead down to her dimple chin.
"Oh my love Annie Rose I love you so much. I need you to wake up baby love. We have plans to make a wedding to prepare for. My darlin I can't lose you Ana I can't. I need you, my life has no meaning without you in it."
He barely gets the last words out before he starts crying and falls on the floor beside her bed holding her hand.
"Oh why couldn't have been me? I am stronger than she is. I could handle the fall and pain better than she can. Why didn't you get me instead of her you bastard?"
"I promise you love I will find the one that is responsible for this. You rest and get better and we will be back soon. We need to let Ray and everyone else see you for a few minutes. I am not leaving you my love. I will be right outside your door. I love you my Annie Rose."
"Carla do you want to talk to her?"
"Chris help me up?"
Chris helps Carla over to Annie's bed and Carla looks down at her daughter.
"My god why would someone do this to our girl Chris? Just look at her beautiful face all swollen and bruised. That will all go away but I wonder if she is in pain and no one knows it. Annie I love you my baby girl please open those beautiful eyes and look at us. Wake up Annie, Annie please…baby girl…"
Chris has to put her in a chair again. He looks up and sees Ray standing at the door.
"Come on in Ray I am just going to step out here in the hall. I am not leaving her for one minute."
Ray walks in and hugs Chris. He walks over to Carla and puts his arms around her and softly talks to her.
"Carla my love she is in a deep sleep she is feeling no pain right now. She is in good hands. They are monitoring her from their desk.
"Why Ray, why would someone do this to Annie? Please tell me why? She has never hurt anyone."
Carla is barely hanging on; she is crying and yelling now.
"Shh love shh I don't know why anyone would do this. We are going to find out though."
Chris sees Carla trying to hold it together but she can't.
"Come on momma Carla let's go sit down. You want some water? Shhh…shh.. she is sleeping, come sit down with me."
"Chris, has Jason heard anything else? He was after one of your mechanics before we left to come here and he was very upset."
"I haven't had a chance to really talk to him or any of our security since I walked out of my room a while ago. As I walking to find you all I heard him and Elliot talking and they were upsetting me. I told them Annie Rose was going to be just fine and walked off to find y'all."
"She is awake but she is just staring and crying. She screamed Ana's name and that is all she has said."
"Damn I hope she will be alright.'
"I know she will be sore and she has a broken arm, hand and leg too. She kinda saved herself from falling on her head. I know she is worried about Annie and I know she is blaming herself but she shouldn't."
"Oh my lord no she shouldn't blame herself. There was no reason for them to be on the alert for any danger. Besides, everything is always checked out before any of you take to the sky."
"Yes Ray you are right we always have the helicopters checked after every flight. I need to go see Jason and Gail. Will you be alright here with Carla or do I need to send mom in?"
"I'm ok but yes send Grace in please."
"Alright I'll be back soon with a report hopefully."
Chris walks out and walks over to the waiting room area.
"Mom Ray wants you to come into Annie Rose's room. Carla is all upset and can't stop crying."
"Oh my goodness I will go right now."
"Thank you mom."
"Elliot, will you walk with me to Gail's room? I just don't want to walk by myself."
Sure Chris come on. Do you feel alright?"
"Yeah I'm ok I just don't want to be alone right now."
"Ok bro come on. Dad, do you know what floor and room Gail is on?'
"Yes, she is on the fourth floor, room 403. I am sure you will see Ryan or another one of our guys outside the door."
"Ok we will be back shortly."
"Dad, if anything happens to Annie Rose while I am gone, call me please?"
"Of course I will now go and talk to Jason so you can hurry back."
"Thank you dad."
Chris and Elliot take the elevator down to the fourth floor and as the doors open they see Ryan standing outside Gail's room.
"Hey Ryan, how is Gail?'
"About the same she just cries and stares not saying anything."
"Ok is Jason in there with her?"
"Yes sir he hasn't left her since he got here."
"Ok well we are going to go and see her."
"How is Annie Chris?"
"Oh my lord has no one told you anything?"
"All I know is that she is in ICU and in a coma."
"Yes that is true and she has a chest tube because of the impact of the fall but she is still Critical but holding her own."
"I hate to hear that but I am happy to hear she is not on a ventilator. I know it was touch and go before they got here to the hospital."
"Yes it was and thank you."
Chris opens the door and they walk in.
Jason sees them and starts to get out of his chair.
"No Jason, stay seated. We are fine. We just wanted to come by and see how Gail was doing."
"She has been crying and she called Ana's name screaming but now nothing."
Chris walks over to her and she follows him with her eyes.
"Gail it's me Chris. How are you doing?"
She looks up at Chris and starts to cry and pulls him into her arms.
"Chris, I couldn't get to her. I couldn't save her. We both flew through the air. I saw her but I couldn't reach her. Please tell me she made it?"
Jason looks at her as she talks to Chris
"That's the first words she has said since I sat down here."
"Gail, she is alive but in a coma. She is holding her own."
"She will wake up, want she?"
"Yes Dr. Blackmon said she would but it could be a day, a week he doesn't know for sure. She has brain waves and they ran some tests to see if she had any swelling but the test hasn't come back yet. She is Critical but she is hanging in there. She has a broken arm and both legs are broken."
She wipes her eyes and smiles the first smile anyone has seen since she woke up.
"That's good, that's good to hear. I was so worried about my girl. Jason, when can we leave? I need to see Ana. I have to tell her how sorry I am that I couldn't save her from the explosion."
"Honey you have been in shock for the last..he looks at his watch… for four hours. You have a broken arm, hand and a broken leg. I don't think Dr. Abrams is going to let you go home right now."
"No. no dammit I need to see Annie."
"Ok, honey I will talk to the doctor to see if he will let you go and see Annie ok?'
"Thank you."
She has let go of Chris but is still holding his hand.
"Chris how are you? You were in shock too."
"I am fine Jason, I just have to be with my girl. Dr. Blackmon said I had to go back to my room so he could evaluate me before he will discharge me."
"Now have you or the guys found out anything about who did this and why?"
"Yes we did but we still don't know all of it. It was Floyd Atkins. We don't know how he manipulated the background checks, yes checks we did two on him. He said he knows you and Ana but wouldn't give much detail about it. What was weird was that he spoke in riddles. He said you both knew him then but you don't know him now."
"What, what is he crazy? How in the hell do we not know him now if we knew him before?"
"I don't know but that's what he said before he was carried away to jail for attempted murder two counts."
"Ok my god the man is crazy and he is one that was looking at Annie Rose wasn't he? I remember his name now. He was the one in the video in the conference room. Yes it is coming back to me now. But I don't know him. I need to watch the video again Jason."
"Yes, that might help you figure out who he is."
"Gail, didn't you say he was wearing green contacts?"
"Yes I did and if you look close enough you will notice them too."
Just then Jason's phone rang.
"Hello, hey Luke, what's going on there?"
"Jason SWAT is here and I have talked to Specialist Bomb Expert Jeff Barnes and you won't believe what he found."
"Hold on, I am putting you on speaker Chris, Elliot and I are in the room with Gail. Let me grab Ryan. He is outside the door."
He gets Ryan in there.
"Ok go ahead now what did he say?"
"He told me that there were three bombs, the first one when Ana opened the door was on a timer, the second was started when the first blew and y'all this man is crazy and sick. He even had one under the helicopter. Specialist Barnes thinks if none of the other bombs had gone off they would have been blown up in the sky."
Chris had to grab on to Elliot and Elliot sat him down on a chair.
"Chris talk to me come on bro talk to me? You Annie Rose is alive, she wasn't in the helicopter. Come on Chris do I need to call Dr. Blackmon and mom?"
He taps him on the face.
"Christian Grey pull it together. Your girl is in ICU and she needs you snap out of it. She and I are alive. He didn't kill us."
Gail yells at him and he finally snaps out of it.
"Thank you Gail. Yes El I am alright now but I am going to kill this guy whoever the fuck he is. Why is he wanting to hurt Annie Rose?"
"Ok Luke what else did he say?"
"He said they were going to be here for a few days. They had to comb through everything and the place was shut down. I told him that it was alright to do what they had to do. That we were closed on the weekend. He said to bring some of our guys in because he knew that Chris and Ana wouldn't want them here unless security was around."
"Yes he was right. Have you called in any of the guys yet?"
"I have called Dennis Morrison, Tony Evans, Roger Blane, Thomas Hart, Dusty Johnson. Adam Robbins and Frank Lane. They are securing the perimeters. They are all stationed around the buildings and two at the entrance and exit."
"Good sounds like you got it covered. I need to send Ryan home. He has been here for hours. Can you send John Richmond to stand outside Gail's door?"
"Yes sir and what about Cory and Adrian?"
"Yes, have Marty Peterson and Freddie Allen come and relieve them. Let them know that one is needed at Ana's door and one in the waiting room in the ICU where the family is."
"Yes sir will call them right now."
"Will there be enough security at our homes with a lot of the guys at the company?"
"Yes Chris there will be. There is security that you don't even know about there."
"Why don't I know?"
"Luke, make your calls. I will explain to Chris and Elliot the reason. Now if you need me for any reason, call me."
"Yes sir and I hope you feel better soon Gail. I have you both in my prayers."
"Thank you Luke."
"Alright later Luke."
They end the call.
"Chris and Elliot we have rotating security around the clock at the company and on all of your property. That is why you don't see all of them."
"Oh ok it makes sense now."
"Yeah it does."
"Alright we are going back to the fifth floor ICU Annie Rose is in room 501 right beside the nurses station. Take care of her Jason?"
"You both know I will she is my lady love ain't you Gail?"
"Yes I am now you two go. Jason, you have to find my doctor?"
"Yes ma'am I will call the nurse and let her find him."

Chris and Elliot walk out of Gail's room and they both are thinking the same thing as they get on the elevator.
"Chris I think Gail thinks she is responsible for what happened to Ana from the way she was talking it was like she thinks she failed her."
"Yes I know and I tried to tell her she wasn't. Hell, I couldn't even get to her in time. Damn bro you should have seen it. When the first explosion went off it was like Annie Rose and Gail were floating through the air in slow motion. I mean you could see every facial expression on their faces. Then the second went off and that's the one that threw me and Jason, Thank god we weren't that close or we would be in the hospital too."
"Yes thank the lord you weren't. When do you think she will wake up Chris?"
"I don't know but in a way I hope she sleeps a little longer El she is going to be in some pain when she wakes up."
"Yeah man I know. Oh damn I have to call Carol and give her an update. I left her at the office saying I would call her as soon as I found out anything. She is going to kill me. Ana is her best friend. I am going to die."
He says that as they get off the elevator he sees Carol. Oh I'm a dead man walking. He says to himself.
"Oh Elliot I am not going to kill you. I might hang you up by your toes though."
Everyone starts laughing.
"Well bro that's better than dead."
"Yeah it is besides she loves me."
"Yes El I do."
"Chris, I am so sorry about what happened to Annie. I heard all about it from the parents. She is going to pull through. She is the strongest woman I know and she is resilient. She is going to make a full recovery."
"Thank you Carol and thank you for coming to be with us."
"Where else would I be? She is my best friend. She called me this morning before you all left for work and said y'all set a date for the wedding."
"Yes we have it on April twenty first."
"Oh that will be lovely spring flowers and spring colors. YOu know I am the Maid of Honor don't you?"
"Of course I knew that. Annie Rose and I wouldn't have it any other way."
"Good, now can we go see her for a few minutes?"
"Mom, who is there with our girl?"
"Carla and Ray and they should be coming out in a few minutes. Carol, do you want to go and see her?"
"Yes and Chris said he would go with me."
"I'll just go and tell Carla you are here."
"Oh no please don't I have plenty of time. I can wait."
"Alright. Chris, you need to go back to your room. Dr. Blackmon has been looking for you."
"Alright in a little while. Oh Gail is talking. She saw me and hugged me and I think she is blaming herself about what happened to Annie Rose."
"Oh my lord she shouldn't there wasn't anything anybody could do."
"Carla, I didn't hear you come up behind me."
"I know I am sneaky like your Annie Rose. What did you call her when y'all were hiding from her with snowballs? Oh yes she is a Ninja."
"Oh my goodness you still remember us saying that?"
"Why of course I do."
"How is doing Mrs. Steele?"
"How many times have I told you over the years to call me Carla? She is still in a coma and she is breathing on her own but she is still Critical."
"Mr. Grey, just the man I am looking for. Come on young man this won't take but a few minutes. Then I will discharge you."
"I'll be right back y'all."
