Chapter 11 Time Jump 4 weeks

"Annie Rose my darlin you need to wake up my love. We have so many plans to make. Please love open your beautiful eyes and look me. Annie Rose open your eyes, move your hand? He takes her hand but she doesn't move hers.

"Christian is that Christian? Why can't I open my eyes? Where am I? What is all that racket? Why can't I move my fingers? I feel his hand and I hear him talking. Why can't I answer him? What the hell is wrong with me?"

"Chris come on, you need to go home and shower and change. You wouldn't want Annie to see you like this."

"Ray, she has been in a coma for four weeks. Why want she wake up? I need her too much. I love her so much. She has to wake up."

He says kissing her forehead and crying.

"Oh my Boo is crying. Why what happened to me? Why did he say I was in a coma? I can hear them talking."

"Ray, I can't leave her. I'll take a shower here and have someone bring me some clothes. Please Ray, I can't leave not now."

"Alright son, I will take care of your clothes. Just promise me you will eat. Annie would have our hides if she were to see you like this. You have to eat and keep up your strength. She is going to need you more than ever when she wakes up."

"I know I know but it's hard looking at her laying in that bed. Why didn't he target me instead of her? She has never hurt anyone. She is the sweetest person and would help anyone no matter who they were. Oh god this is so hard. Annie Rose dammit please wake up?"

He falls in his chair and lays his head on her lap and cries.

She tries to move her hand so she can let him know she is alright but she can't.

"What is wrong with me? Am I paralyzed? Is that it? No, I must be dreaming. This can't be happening. We have so many plans for our wedding. I need to wake up. I can't do anything and my baby is crying. Please god help me wake up."

The opens and someone walks into her room.

"Chris sweetheart here I have some food for you son. You need to eat. Annie would not like to see you like this. She will be upset because you are not eating. She will be mad at us for letting you do this to yourself."

"Why won't she wake up mom? It's been four weeks since she hasn't moved or opened her eyes. Nothing and the doctor said her brain was alright. The swelling has gone down. Why, why won't she wake up?"

He puts his head back down on her stomach and cries holding her hand tight.

Ray looks at Grace and he has tears running down his face. She takes a kleenex and gives it to him. She has tears in her eyes.

"Y'all excuse me..I'll be right back."

"Chris where are you going?"

"I need some air."

"Chris let me go with you son?"

"I'm fine Ray, I just need a little time. Call me if something happens."

"What are you planning on doing? I know that look Chris and you need to sit back down. There is nothing you can do? He is in jail and he is not going anywhere."

"No, I need to go and find that bastard that caused all this. He is one that needs to be in jail right alongside that sorry excuse son of his."

"No son, you need to calm down and take some deep breaths before you have another panic attack."

"Mom, they need to pay for what they did to her."

"Yes Chris I know but you trying to go and find his father will not help Annie. Let the law handle this son you need to be here for your Annie Rose. She will need you when she wakes up."

"Mom, she has been in a coma for four weeks now. I need her to wake up."

He just slumps down the wall and sits on the floor with his head in his hands.

"Why, why, god why her why not me? He should have gotten me, not her."

"No Chris he shouldn't have got her but he did and we still don't know if he did anything to your helicopter. The teams are there. S.W.A.T. is still there the FBI is involved. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating all the helicopters Chris. Yours could have been tampered with and so could some of the others. We don't know yet if it was just Annie's. They haven't completed their investigation. Please come on son and sit down."

He gets up and walks over and sits back down and holds hand.

"What are they talking about a bomb for? Why would someone blow up my helicopter? What did Chris say he should have gotten him not me? Something is not right here. Why am I in a coma dammit? Wake up Annie Rose? This is a dream. I'll wake up and be in Chris's arms in the morning."

"How is Gail doing? I haven't seen her in a few days. I know she is glad to be out of the hospital. I hate that she had to stay because she got so upset about Annie Rose that she had a panic attack."

"Yes I know but Gail is doing alright now. I talked to yesterday. She is coming to see Annie this evening."

"You both know those bombs blowing up could have killed both of them. I am so glad they didn't. I couldn't go on if something happened to my girl. I love her so much."

"Yes we know son and we pray each day that they didn't. She is alive Chris she is resting and Dr. Blackmon said she will wake up when she is ready. She is healing and she needs to rest."

"I know but I want her to wake up. I need my Annie Rose."

"Come on son let's go for a walk then come back and you shower and eat. You never know when she is going to wake up and you surely do not want her to see you looking like this."

Chris gets up and kisses her lips gently.

"I'll be right back my sweet girl. I love you."

"Mom."

"Yes Chris I will call you. Now go with Ray for a little while."

They walk out the door and Chris turns and looks back at his love.

"What are they talking about? The bombs could have killed me and Gail? Why would someone want to hurt us? But it sounded like they wanted to hurt me. Wake up dammit and remember what happened to you. You're lying in this hospital bed in a coma. The man you love and are going to marry is going crazy because you won't wake up.

Hey, it's not my fault. I am trying to wake up from this dream but I can't. I know it's not a dream but what all happened to me. I can't feel anything and there is no pain. Oh god am I paralyzed? Please god no, please no. I have to walk. I have to walk down the aisle to my future husband. My love, the man of my life. Oh lord, did you see his face? How sad he looked and he was crying and I couldn't raise my hand to comfort him.

You will don't you worry, you will be able to comfort him and get out of this bed. Right now you have to heal and get better.

They walk by the waiting room and see everyone in there.

"Come walk with us Elliot?"

Elliot gets up and walks over to them.

"Where are we going bro?"

"Just out for a walk Elliot. I need some fresh air."

Elliot throws his arm around Chris's shoulder.

"Lead the way bro I am here for you."

They all get on the elevator and ride it down to the second floor where there is a visiting area and no news crews. They have been relentlessly trying to get inside and talk to Chris and the families. There are some paparazzi hanging around. They got word that one of the Singing Sensations children was involved in a helicopter bombing. There is no word on word on who it was. No one is talking. Now they are outside trying to get pictures of anyone in the family.

"Chris we are going to sit here for a little while and talk"

"Why didn't we go down to the first floor?"

Ray and Elliot look at each other.

"Alright what's going on outside?"

He gets up and walks over to the windows.

"Oh my god who are all those people and why are they here?"

"Chris, there are news crews and paparazzi out there and a bunch of nosy people wanting to know who is in here and how they are."

"Why are the paparazzi here?"

"Well when the helicopter blew up it was on the news but Jason made them all sign NDAs so they wouldn't say who it was. So no one knew it was Ana and Gail."

"What about his mother she knows who it was?"

"That was taken care of with another NDA Chris. Jason and the guys are on the ball with this. They are not leaving anything to chance. They feel so bad about what happened. Jason was going to turn in his resignation but dad and Ray talked him out of it."

"Oh my lord, why would he do that? He is to blame for this just like Gail thought she was to blame for it. I need to talk to him."

"They will be here this evening but it is already taken care of. He is not going anywhere besides Gail threatened him if he did. Gail is resting at home and Jason is with her."

"Is there any word on his father Fletcher? They have had plenty of time to find the bastard."

"They have been to his house numerous times but he hasn't been home. The cops are staying close by if he shows up there or at work."

"Where does he work?"

"A manufacturing company there in Georgia."

They don't think he remembers hearing the boy's mother saying that her ex made bombs for the Military and Chris doesn't need to know that right now.

"They will catch him, Chris. They have his son in jail. Sooner or later he will get in touch with him. Or his son will make a call to him. They have the phones at the jail fixed so they can hear any incoming or outgoing phone calls. They record the phone calls. So if either makes a call the cops will know."

"Who has he called?"

"No one that we know of. He isn't asking for a lawyer either. He just sits there. Wayne said he was creepy looking."

"Oh hell no this bastard is not getting off acting like he is insane or crazy. I will kill him myself."

"He is not going to get out of jail. You need to calm down."

Luke walks in with some clothes and bag for him\.

"How did you know we were down here? Thank you Luke."

"Ray texted me and told me you all were down here and you are welcome."

"Oh ok I was wondering. What is happening outside?"

"Just a bunch of news crews and paparazzi. Our guys and the cops are keeping them all back from the hospital. No one knows it Annie in here."

"Good I hope it stays that way. Did the guys have the hospital staff sign NDAs?"

"Yes we sure did and told them if they said anything it would be bad for them."

"Ok well now I am ready to go back to my girl. Are you all coming?"

"Yes Chris we are."

Fletcher Williamson is Eddie Williamson's father. A little history on him and why he hates the Steeles and the Greys.

Fletcher grew up in a very successful and wealthy family. His father and grandfather own a large furniture manufacturing company. After his grandfather passed away the company went to his father because he was an only child.

As Fletcher got older he didn't want to do his chores. They had a housekeeper and a cook to do all that for them and him. His parents told him he had to learn how to take care of himself. He was lazy. He did finish school but barely.

He knew Ray and Carrick from school but they never really interacted with each other. He thought they were too good to be friends with him. He knew he was better and richer than they were. Oh he thought wrong on both.

By the skin of his teeth he somehow got into Yale but he balked, fussed and cussed that he didn't want to go to college. His parents made him go. He quit after two years. His parents were disappointed in him.

His father told him if he didn't get a job he was going to enlist in the Marines they would straighten him out. He told his father he was not going and there was nothing he could do to make him go.

He told him he would lose his trust fund from them and his grandparents trust funds. Oh hell he couldn't afford to lose them. He needed them to get out of the house and on his own away from the nagging.

Two weeks later he was on his way to the Marines for boot camp. It was a grueling thirteen weeks training but he did it somehow. He was tougher now and he was proud of himself and happy that his father made him join. It helped him with his anger issues.

He was transferred from Paris Island, South Carolina to SOI East Camp Geiger in North Carolina. Then he was transferred to Okinawa, Japan to serve his first four years. He had to sign a contract for eight years. The first four were on the base as active duty the last four were on inactive duty unless war broke out he would be called to war.

It was three years later that they all heard that Bob Hope's USO Tour was going to grace them with their presents. He found out that they would be there in three weeks. He heard that the lovely Singing Sensations Carla/Grace would be among the singers on this tour. He knew about them in school but never got a chance to meet them. Then he heard they made it big with their music career and he wanted to meet them.

He heard some of the guys talking about the ladies and then he heard Ray and Carrick talking about them. They lived in Tennessee same as the ladies did and he did as well. He didn't like Ray and Carrick in school and he doesn't like them now. They out rank him and he wants to get transferred from this base.

He decides to make friends with them and asks them to join him and some friends for dinner and then go to a club. He then will get them drunk and they will be in trouble. He will have some guys he knows pick a fight with them and barkeep will call the Military Police to come and get them. They will be in the brig and away from the USO Tour.

His plans backfire when they couldn't join him. He gets pissed and goes with his buddies. All his buddies talk about is Ray and Carrick getting a promotion and he doesn't like it even though they have been in a few years longer than himself. He ends up getting drunk and leaves in his car. He drives and drives not caring where he is going. He just wants to get away for a while. He has the whole weekend on leave.

He is driving but not paying attention to how fast he is going. He rounds a curve and hits a tree. If not for his seat belt he would have been thrown out of the car. He sits there stunned then checks himself he feels blood on his face where he hit the steering wheel. He gets out of his car and starts walking.

He walks and walks and finally finds a run down house. He knocks but no one answers. He breaks in and passes out. He wakes up and looks around for food and something to drink. He only finds a few crackers and a few bottles of Jack Daniel. He eats the crakers and drinks one bottle and passes out again. He wakes up and drinks the other bottle. He stays there for a few weeks. He finds food in the freezer and fridge. But hell he can't cook. He finds something he can put in the oven to heat up.

The family comes home and finds him passed out on their couch.

The man calls the Military Police and they come and get him. He was sent to the brig for being AWOL for nearly three weeks. Then he was sentenced to one year and then dishonorably discharged.

He was supposed to go home but he couldn't face his father. So he got a job out of town.

He hated Ray and Carrick; they were the reason he missed the USO Tour and the ladies. They always were the reasons he got in trouble. He wanted to blame them but it was his fault not theirs.

He heard that Ray and Carrick had married Carla and Grace and now he was so mad and hated them so much he could spit nails. He wanted to kill them both. Why do they have to ruin everything for me?

A year later he met the love of his life. They got married and they moved to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee that's where Fletcher was from. He finally broke down and went and talked to his father. He already knew about his dishonorable discharge.

To say his father was happy to see him was not the case. He said that he was very disappointed in him and didn't know what to think. He told him he knew he was married and he needed a job. So he put him to work at the furniture factory making chairs. He did that for a few years.

He told his wife what happened to him in the Marines a few years after they got married. Yes of course he blamed it all on Ray and Carrick.

His father heard them arguing one day and told him it was no one's fault but his own for messing his career up.

In between the time his father had his heart attack and them losing the company to none other than Ray and Carrick. Fletcher never knew who his father sold his business to. He didn't think Fletcher needed to know. Fletcher's wife gave birth to a baby boy. They named him Edward Eddie for short.

Well a few years later they found out that Ray and Carrick had opened a manufacturing plant that made household goods. They had been in business since they served their time in the made light fixtures on one side of their plant and one of a kind furniture in the other. They had orders for different tables, chairs you name it they made it. Their company took off making over a million dollars the second year and now they are billionaires.

Fletcher's fathers company was still hanging in there but competing with them it was rough.

A year later Fletcher's father had a heart attack and had to have a quadruple bypass surgery. So his dad entrusted the plant to him to keep it going.

Well after all was said and done. Fletcher decided to raise the prices of the furniture they made for other companies. Some companies stayed, others said no.

Fletcher didn't really care much; he still had three major furniture companies in his pocket. So being greedy he raised the prices again.

Business became slow with not many orders coming in for the plant. He was too scared to talk to his father. His father was in bad health and didn't need to know about this. He talked with his plant manager and asked what he should do? He told him to lower the prices or he was going to lose every contract they had. Which was down to two now.

He looked at the plant manager like he was crazy. No way man this is going to pick up you just wait and see. I guess we have to lay off some workers until business picks back up, he tells him.

I think we need to talk to your father about this situation Fletcher. Not take it upon ourselves to make this big of a decision.

Well fast forward he didn't talk to his father and things got worse. He ended up laying off over five hundred people. His dad got word finally and he fired his son. He talked to his manager to see if the business could be saved and he told him there was no way. They were in debt up to their eyeballs. Fletcher had been spending money left and right.

Fletcher lost both his trust funds and he was forced to take any jobs he could find. His wife worked as a secretary for a law firm.

His wife's family was well off and he talked her into giving him the money to start another furniture plant making high end pieces for the ultra rich as he called them.

Well at first it took off well but into his second year he was making good money and he decided to use some of it to invest in some off the wall real estate company buying land he had never seen. Well needless to say he lost his ass and ten million dollars for being stupid. Buying land from them three times unseen. His buddy was the real estate agent and he knew he wouldn't lie to him.

Well hell if you can't trust your best friend who can you trust right? Well the idiot decided to trust him and lost his ass big time. He thought buying seventy thousand acres for ten million dollars wasn't a bad idea especially when his friend his best friend showed him pictures of all the trees on the land that he could use for his furniture plant.

Well he was screwed out of his land and his money and never saw his best friend again. He lost his company because he couldn't pay them and his business started failing because he got greedy again. The Steeles and Greys beat him again. They offered to buy him out but he refused their offer of fifty million dollars.

He told his wife the economy wasn't good but she knew he was lying about something. She would find out because it was her money that he used to open the plant with.

The reason that Ray and Carrick could make a go of their plant was because they used the trees from their land and they owned a lumber mill and yard. They made their money work for them and they saved a lot of their Military pay. Between both of them they had over ten thousand acres given to them by their fathers years ago.

Now back to Eddie Williamson. He had heard his parents arguing more and more. He never wanted them to fight. He accidentally heard them one night as they were fighting about two men that ruined his dad and grandfather's business years ago.

His mother told his father that it was no one's fault but his own for raising the prices and lowering the grade of furniture that was being made. That it was his fault not Mr. Steele and Mr. It's Grey's fault that they lost their business. It was his father's fault because he wasn't a businessman. He took money from the company and blew on no good investments.

He heard his father say that those bastards ruined his career in the Marines too. His mom said that was a lie too. Because he left the base with the intention of ruining Steele and Grey. But it backfired on him and he got pissed and left the bar, drove drunk, hit a tree and stayed away from base for almost a month. She said he couldn't blame that on them. They had nothing to do with it. He said it wouldn't have happened if they had just come along with him and his buddies.

She told him it wasn't their fault. If he wanted to place blame blame it on their Sargent he is one that kept them on base. They went back and forth until she got tired of listening to him bitch about the Steeles and the Greys.

So Eddie figured from that moment on that they were the reason he had no big trust fund from his father's side of the family. Because they ruined his father or it sounded like they did but his mother told him he was at fault no one else. Why would she do that? She is supposed to stand with her husband.

Fast forward as Eddie got older he never forgot what his father said about the Steeles and Greys. From that moment on he hated anyone named Steele or Grey and there were a few in his school. A pretty little thing Anastasia Steele but she heard the boys call her Ana and the Greys call her Annie all except for Christian funckin Grey he called her Annie rose.

Eddie liked her but she didn't give him the time of day. She only had eyes for Christian. What did he have that Eddie didn't have besides loads of money. No, that didn't matter; her family was rich too.

She wouldn't even look at him. Well that should have told him she didn't like him, especially the way he looked at her. She could feel his evil eyes on her. Made her skin crawl.

Fast forward again. Eddie's parents got a divorce just before he graduated high school. He lived with his mom but spent the summers with his dad in Atlanta. His dad filled his head about how Ray Steele and Carrick Grey ruined his life in the Marines and

his father's company then his own company. He said it was time to pay them all back.

He taught Eddie all about making bombs and how to make sure they didn't blow up on him or before it was time to set them in place and take care of the problems.

The stupid kid never did question his father about why he wanted him to do it instead of him. Wonder why?

So Eddie set out to do just what his father drilled into his head. To destroy the Steeles and the Greys by any means necessary.

You all already know about college. This vendetta went on while in college but he didn't dare do anything yet. He was waiting on the go ahead from his dad. This has been festering for years. What made it worse was Ana Steele not liking him and him having to face her and Christian fuckin Grey everyday.

He and his father worked close together on his holidays spent with him.

Things came to a head when he had Eddie change his name and everything in his database. Eddie was a whiz on computers; he could do anything and find anything. So he wrote himself a brand new life. He got a job at G & S Tours, Training and Sales. He worked that first six months learning everything he needed to know, especially the routine and schedule that Ana and Chris kept. He had to keep an eye on them like his father asked him to do.

He was just waiting for his father to give him the go ahead. He was already well known there at work so they always let him go in like they did everyone else. He knew Ana and Chris's helicopters were up for a service and he got Ana's while some other guy got Grey's. He wanted them both. He set the bombs they were small no one would notice them not even her CPO.

Now back to the present time

"Chris there you are we just got word that they picked up Fletcher Williamson trying to go into Mexico. They are extraditing and bringing him to Tennessee to be interrogated and to find out what possessed him to fill his son's head with so much bullshit. Then to run and let his son take the blame for it all."

"Wow about damn time it's been four weeks. Something better get some answers because the little prick in jail isn't talking is he. All this came from his mother and the things on his computer and pictures in his room. That is enough for it to be premeditated ain't it?"

"Yes Chris it is."

"Chris, we will get all the details."

"Ok I am going to see my girl. Is there any change?"

"None yet,"

He hangs and shakes his head walking over to Annie Rose's room.

He opens the door like he always does praying that she will open her eyes like she does when she feels him near her. No she doesn't and he has to hide his tears by turning around and closing the door.

"Hey mom and momma Carla, any change anything at all? Please tell me, yes?"

"Chris we wish we could tell you yes but there is no change not right now. Dr. Blackmon came in and checked on her and said she was resting and there was no swelling from the last scan they did early this morning. He said her body will know when it is time for her to wake up. She loves you sweetheart and she is not going to leave you."

"Yes I know but it's hard but I am going to be here every step of the way for her.'

"We know you will."

"Well I do have some news dad told us that they are extraditing Fletcher Williamson back from wherever he was trying to get into Mexico. He will be here soon in jail to be interrogated."

"Well maybe then we will be able to learn why all this is happening. There has to be more than just what his ex wife has said. I am sure this has been going on before she met him."

"Mom, you're probably right. but why would he have his son target us?" That is what I don't understand. Why didn't his father do something before now?"

"I don't know Chris but hopefully we will find out soon. It was so wrong for him to try to leave the country and put all the blame on his son."

"I have a question: would either of you object to us moving our wedding up if it is alright with my Annie Rose when she wakes up? I can't stand this not being her husband. We should be married by now. I love that woman with all my heart and soul. You never know what is going to happen day to day and this proves it right here."

"I would not be against it and I know Ray wouldn't either. We both know how much you love each other."

"Chris, your dad and I will be very happy whenever you want to marry that lovely lady."

"Thank you, thank you both moms. I love you both."

"Oh Chris we love you too."

"We are going to step out to give you some alone with your girl."

"Thank you both."

Chris gets up and walks over to her bed and leans down and kisses her lips gently like he always does followed by her nose then her eyes and forehead. He lays his forehead on hers looking at her closed eyes willing them to open. He doesn't realize he is crying until he sees tears falling on her closed eyes

"Oh baby I am so sorry. I didn't mean to cry on you."

He says as he wipes the tears with his fingertips.

He sits down beside her and holds her hand rubbing his thumb back and forth over her knuckles. She always said that soothed her when she was having a bad day.

"Annie my little Annie Rose they say you might be able to hear me. Some say they remember what they heard while in a coma when they wake up from one. I hope you can hear me, my sweet darlin girl. I love you so much Annie Rose and I miss you. I miss your touch, your sweet smile, your eyes shining back at me. I miss our long talks. I miss our flights we take together. I miss our meals together, our long walks and horseback riding. I miss sitting on our deck with you in my arms looking up at the sky looking for the brightest star but as I have always said you are my brightest star you shine brighter than the brightest star ever could. I miss holding you in our bed cuddled up to you. I miss your ice cold feet trying to find a warm spot between my legs and making me scream. I miss us being together and loving each other. I miss our late night skinny dips in our indoor pool. Damn Annie Rose I miss you so much baby please wake up. Please remember us. Remember all of our good times. I need you my love. I am here for you and always will be. I talked to our moms and asked them if they minded if we moved our wedding date up and they had no problem with it. I hope you will agree to marry me sooner when you wake up. We never know what the next day will bring and we belong together."

"Oh my lord, I wish I could hold him. I feel so bad that I can't even move a finger while he is holding my hand. I can feel him but I can't do anything. The words he is saying I wish I could say them back to him. Yes, yes Chris I will marry you anytime you want to marry me. Oh god I feel so bad for my Boo my love right now. I can't comfort him like I should be doing. This is so not fair for either of us but more so for him. Why is he telling me all this? I am alright aren't I? I heard the doctor tell Grace and mom that I was just sleeping and my body would tell me when it is time to wake up. They said I am in a coma. I remember now the helicopter blowing up and me and Gail flying through the air. I don't remember anything after that. Oh my lord, why can't I remember anything else. Please let me wake up please. They say I have been in this damn coma for four weeks."

"I heard them say that Gail was released from the hospital. She must not have been as bad as I am. Oh god why can't I wake up. I need to hold my Chris. I need him like he needs me."

"Oh my lord what is all that noise?"

Before he can say anything else the room is filled with her doctor and nurses.

"Chris, I need you to leave for a little while."

"Mom, what is going on?"

"I am not sure Chris but come on let them work on her."

"I can't leave her, she needs me mom."

"Chris I will tell you she is alright. I think she is trying to wake up. Please let us work here. Her brain activity is going crazy. Whatever you said to her has her ready either really agitated or she is trying to wake up. My guess is she is trying to wake up. But it won't be today."

He smiles at him and pushes him out the door.

"What is going on in there son?"

"They think she is trying to wake up or she is agitated with me."

He says smiling.

"I think it is a little bit of both."

He says.

"Well Chris, you do know how to push her buttons."

"Yes, yes I do and hopefully what I said will wake my sleeping beauty up."
