"So that Legion bastard—I shot him right there. That was my first kill, and I haven't looked back since. These people threaten the founding ideals of the NCR," the Lieutenant said gruffly.

"Your ignorant ideals don't matter, Lieutenant," Theodore retorted, his voice edged with frustration. "Every day, we struggle to survive with only the Securitrons and the security agency to protect us. This isn't about ideals; it's about survival—keeping the Legion from destroying everything here and erasing House's achievements."

As they argued, Charles and the other EONV members stood on the wall, their eyes fixed on the door, listening intently for any sounds from outside and the conversation inside. Nearby, the other NCR members and IONV agent Hugo were also listening, ready to chime in if necessary. Finally, Hugo chimed in, his voice cutting through the tension saying

"Alright, enough with the debating," the Lieutenant said, cutting through the tension. "Charles, are we ready to go now?"

Charles checked his watch. "It's 7:30. We could wait a bit longer, but it's probably best to head out early. We need to account for walking distance. How long would the walk be, Hugo?"

"About 15 minutes," Hugo replied, glancing at the others. "But the boss would prefer if we arrived early."

"Alright, well, I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Everyone else good?"

The room was filled with nods of agreement, but the Captain chimed in with a grin. "That five-finger fillet game sure got me ready as I'll ever be, so yeah, let's do this."

"That alcohol sure did keep me from falling asleep while we waited, so yeah, I need some action. Let's go," said Joseph.

With that, the group got moving, Karl trailing behind with his cigarette which he had smoked since his stay at the house.
They tried not to draw attention to themselves, evident in their changed clothing—especially the NCR soldiers, who had swapped their uniforms for regular attire and weapons which were nowhere to be seen, the only weapons they had were small arms that were concealed under their clothing.

However, they would still have been conspicuous in their uniforms since there was hardly anyone on the streets at night.

They continued walking the streets without attracting much attention, and once they reached the Iron Gang's base of operations, Charles noticed the gate entrance was heavily guarded with guards on top of the walls. He assumed the guards on top of the walls were guarding more heavily due to the securitrons in the front of the gate.
As they reached the entrance of the base, two guards clad in scrap iron armor stepped forward, eyeing the group warily. One of the guards addressed Hugo, his voice gruff. "Who you got with you there, Hugo?"

"Just some people that've got to meet with the boss," Hugo replied smoothly. "So, we good to go in?"

The guard glanced over the group one more time, then nodded. "Yeah, sure. But they better not cause any trouble, especially that muttie."
Once they got in the base the base it was rather dirty with the halls and different areas fortified with barricades but with Jack leading the way they knew where to go.
Some people give them stares but Charles assumed they didn't recognize him with his change in clothing.
The group followed Hugo until they reached a room where the boss, Dan, was waiting. Dan sat in a chair that looked like it came from one of those old pre-war offices and had 2 guards beside him.

Unlike the typical iron armor worn by the Iron Gang members, Dan wasn't dressed in the usual gear. Charles figured it must be because officers didn't wear that armor—after all, Jack wasn't wearing it either.

Instead, Dan wore a duster jacket over a shirt, with a mask covering the left side of his face.
Seeing them, Dan smirked and said, "Well, look what the cat dragged in. You brought yourself a little party here Hugo, and someone who looks an awful lot like Charles House."

Dan cocked his pistol, casually flipping the magazine out, then back in. Holding the gun firmly, he continued, his voice dripping with sarcasm and threat. "That ain't him, right? Because if it is, you know what happens."

Hugo, unphased, replied, "Yeah, I know. I dragged in a whole party, and yeah, this ghoul might look like Charles House, but it ain't him. They're here with info on the Security Agency and NCR movements."

Dan's demeanor hardened as he leaned forward, aggression rising. "Well fine, then. Spit it out."

Charles stepped forward, unfazed by the tension in the room. "Alright then, freak," he muttered.

In an instant, the atmosphere shifted. Charles' group, moving in sync, drew their guns and unleashed a barrage of gunfire.

Once that happened, only the blood of the guards and Dan remained, their bodies lifeless and too slow to respond.

Subsequently, the door opened, and before anyone could react, the guards standing at the front outside of the room entered the room with laser rifles pointed at them. The group quickly pointed their guns back at the guards. Hugo then said, in an emboldened voice, "The boss tried to kill me, so I killed him—simple as that. He would have done it to you sooner or later if you did something he didn't like."

Then one of the guards said, in a threatening tone,

"Yeah, he would have probably done the same thing to us, sure. But now I know who you've got there with you, Hugo—Charles House, huh? You aren't much better than Dan, are you? It would be better for me to just kill you now, so give me a reason not to, and don't keep me waiting. I bet the others probably heard the gunshots."
"Well, yes, this is Charles House, and I know you've got every reason to kill us. But we'll be on our merry way, and I promise you New Vegas won't cause you any more problems with Dan dead. If you do take us or kill us, I can't guarantee your survival with the Securitrons out there."

The other guard then responded, "Fine, fuck you. We'll escort you out, but never intervene in our affairs again, or we'll destroy that little town of Benver next door."

Charles nodded in agreement, and they were escorted out. As they walked, another Iron Gang member approached them, someone Charles recognized as one of the fighters from Benver. The gang member then said, "That's Charles House—kill this fucker."

One of the guards escorting the group replied, "We can't, or he'll send more Securitrons here. Plus, Dan is dead."

The Iron Gang member scowled. "Then why are you escorting Hugo out of here? He's been loyal. Or are you planning a coup?" He pulled out his laser rifle and pointed it at the guards, who immediately aimed their weapons back. The guard said, "Hugo killed Dan, and he said the boss tried to kill him but thats shaky because maybe Dan almost killed him because he's got Charles House with him but no matter his reasons, he deserves punishment but exile for its too dangerous to fuck with new Vegas, even if it causes division in the gang."

"Bullshit, I think you're honestly just a coward who doesn't have the balls to kill Charles House and I bet you Hugo didn't bring him here, he probably just infiltrated with his little gang who I see are Karl Smith and Joseph Martin, don't recognize the others but I think your making Hugo a scapegoat" said the fighter from Benver.

Hugo stepped forward and said, "He's right. I killed Dan and brought Charles House and his friends here and I'm proud of it and won't justify myself to you bastards."

"Well, you heard him. Now scram," said the guard escorting the group.

With the guard from Benver leaving, they continued their humiliating walk, with stares piercing them from all around.

Once they were out of the gates, a Securitron asked, "Well, what are the results?"

"Tell the Colonel, Dan is dead," replied Charles.
