Wandering into Mysterious Fog of Vengeance
"Yes, yes, and another yes! You've done very well to duplicate my Jojo's jacket since his old one was damaged along the road." Kimi nodded of approval.
The Stardust Crusaders have made a stop to a little town after dealing with the Stand User of the Wheel of Fortune, and that town has a clothing fabric store that has just what Jotaro needs to get himself a new jacket and the woman who runs the place has done a great job in doing that.
"Thank you, I have to say in all of years, I've never received such a strange request for clothing, but the pleasure was mine." The fabric store woman smiled.
"Well, it was certainly worth it for the price." Kimi handed the woman the money.
"You can also keep the change. By the way, can I also put in a request something for myself?" Kimi asked, but then Jotaro grabs her by the hair pulling her away.
"In case you've gotten, we're in a hurry. So, we gotta move now." Jotaro walked away while dragging Kimi along.
"Okay, I'll just call you from Japan!" Kimi called out while the woman just waves at her.
"So, the area we're in now is, huh, Pac… Paki-stain." Anna tried to pronounce the word right.
"Pakistan, you were close. And yes, you could say this place has quite a history." Tomo said.
"Are you going to give me history lessons?" Anna asked exclaiming.
"We might as well since you're going to stuck with us for a while and probably missing some school days too." Nate stated.
And so, the group starts driving toward the next town for a temporary stop in hopes of finding some information about DIO's whereabouts.
Narrator: Pakistan is a young country, established in 1947 following its separation from India. But when Japan was still a hunter-gatherer culture, Pakistan was the seat of a highly developed civilization. Here in Pakistan, the people carry on the 5,000-year history of the Indian subcontinent.
"And that is the short explanation of Pakistan." Tomo finished explaining this to Ann.
The group is also driving in two cars since they are traveling in a big group, Polnareff is driving the one in front while Makiko is driving the second one behind the boys.
"I gotta say, Jotaro. I'm impressed you got a Japanese school uniform made here in Pakistan. The fit is perfect too." Joseph complimented on Jotaro's newly replaced jacket.
"It's a 100% wool." Jotaro said.
"Oh man, that's a long drop from here. Maybe longer than the last cliff." Anna looked down.
"Careful not to look down too much." Nate advised.
Makiko looks around, feeling a bit concerned about this fog that they're coming in though she can't help but feel like something is really off here.
"Hey Polnareff, do you copy? We're coming into a fog and it's starting to get thick now." Makiko contacted the other car with the walkie-talkie.
"Weird, Kakyoin was just telling me about that." Polnareff responded.
"These aren't exactly the safest conditions. It's one hell of a drop off the right side, and there's no guardrail anywhere." Polnareff pointed out.
"Just keep your guard up, I don't wanna find out that we're gonna run into trouble later." Makiko said.
"Hmm, the fog looks even thicker up ahead." Joseph noticed the thick fog in front of them.
"I believe we should make a quick stop in that town below, we don't wanna end up getting lose and ambushed by a pack of bandits that would deal our money and our clothes leaving us in nothing but our birthday suits." Hotizon stated.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure nothing like that would ever happen. I hope…" Nate gulped nervously.
"Horizon's worried imaginations aside, we should quickly find a place to stay for the night." Tori agreed with his girlfriend.
"Sure, it's not even 3:00 yet, but I guess we can't be too careful with how this fog is." Joseph decided to go with the kids' idea.
"Do you think they have nice hotels?" Polnareff wondered.
"Nice hotel, huh?" Kakyoin asked.
"That's right, and it'd better have a decent bathroom." Polnareff hoped.
"Aw, is Mister French man still mad about the pig toilet when we first arrived in India?" Tori asked teasing.
"Shut up! You would freak out too if you saw it for yourself, not to mention the weird kinds of toilets they have in the middle east!" Polnareff grossed out from memories of previous stops.
"Actually, Japan may have some toilets that are similar to the design as well." Tomo mentioned.
"Oh great, you're all weird." Polnareff commented groaning.
Along the way, Jotaro spotted something on the left side of the road, probably a sign. However, he got closer look to see that it wasn't a sign of any kind, but a dead dog being stabbed through by a pole and left there.
"(What the fuck? Was that… a dead dog?)" Jotaro thought gasped.
"Hey, are you alright, Jotaro?" Joseph asked, noticing his grandson is looking a little tense.
"Oh, it's nothing." Jotaro brushed off, hoping that the dead dog isn't a sign of something troubling ahead.
The two cars arrive in the town going through a road seeing the buildings up close are looking fancy.
"Wow, the buildings here look a little better than the other ones we've seen." Nate commented.
"Hey, this is a nice little town, don't you think? There must be at least a few thousand people living here. Eh?" Joseph believed.
"From the view we sat above, I don't doubt the numbers though it must've been tough for them to have built their own in the middle of nowhere like this." Tori looked around, then the two cars stop because the first one did.
"Let's ask about a hotel at that restaurant over there." Kakyoin pointed at a restaurant with a sign that literally says "Restaurant".
"But there's a weird quiet about this place." Polnareff said as he looks around at the town and the people.
"Oh good, I thought it was just me thinking about that." Anna sighed in relief. She has been feeling weird about this town since they got here.
"No matter where we've gone, every other place has been rowdy and congested." Polnareff pointed out.
"It's probably because of the fog." Joseph guessed.
"I don't know, I feel like something is very wrong with this town." Tomo concerned as she looks up seeing the sky not being seen because of the fog.
"Can we get something to eat already, I want to distract myself from all this weirdness." Anna wanted to get away from this weird air around them.
"Sure thing. Listen up, everybody! In Pakistan and the rest of the Islamic world, this is how you greet people. Tomo, why don't you go greet the man since you have knowledge of the custom." Joseph said.
"Oh, okay." Tomo nodded and clearing her throat as she walks up to the man who seems to be the owner of the restaurant.
"As-Salaam Alaikum." Tomo greeted the man in a polity.
But the restaurant owner doesn't respond to the greeting which confuses Tomo until she sees the close sign.
"Oh, it looks like you're closed. Well then, is there any hotels in this own that we could stay for night?" Tomo asked.
The man just stays silent with that strange dead-like look in his eyes, but Tomo can tell that there is definitely something off going on here.
"I do not know. Good day to you." The restaurant owner turned around.
"Hold on, you really don't know?" Tomo asked.
But Tomo gasp upon seeing something very strange about that man, there are two cockroaches crawling up on the back of the man's neck.
"Hey Kakyoin, is it normal to have cockroaches on your neck like it's no big deal?" Tori asked.
"Why would you ask me that?" Kakyoin asked, weirded out from that question.
"Because that guy who was so rude to Tomo had cockroaches on his neck." Tori answered, showing that Tomo wasn't the only one who saw that.
"Hold up, you saw those bugs too?" Joseph was surprised.
"Yeah, that didn't sit right with me." Makiko raised an eyebrow.
"Ew, now I just lost my hunger." Anna complained.
"Okay, okay, let's all just calm down and see if we can ask that guy over there." Polnareff went over to a man sitting on a pole.
"Excuse me. Sorry, but we're looking for a hotel around here, preferably a hotel with a nice clean bathroom. Do you know any that—" Polnareff gasped when he realizes something is wrong with this man.
Upon close look t the eyes, they appear to be lifeless with the expression like something really bad just happen to him.
"Hey you, what's wrong?" Polnareff asked, grabbing the man by the shoulder.
But that only leads to more freaky stuff like two lizards just came out of the man's mouth like they were just living inside the man.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" The group gasped in pure shock.
"Please don't tell that's what I think it is?" Anna asked, shaking in fear.
"He's dead!" Polnareff blurted out.
"I told you not to tell me?!" Anna yelled.
"But just look at that look of fear on his face." Polnareff pointed at the dead man's expression.
"How could this have happened? A man lying dead in the middle of the road, and what exactly could be the cause of his death?" Nate shocked.
"I'm guessing this guy had a heart failure, and it's much worse than that." Tori gulped in fear.
"Tori is right, that man is also holding a gun in his right hand and there appears to be smoke coming out of it." Horizon pointed the gun in the dead man's hand.
"Fuck! A gun! Just like she said!" Polnareff gasped.
"You just notices." Kakyoin deadpanned, a little annoyed that Polnareff didn't see the gun sooner.
"The smoke must mean that he just fired it. Maybe two to five minutes ago. Either way, he must've died right before we arrived in town." Joseph estimated on the smoke and the time.
"Do you think… he shot himself?" Polnareff asked worry about this man have just committed suicide.
"No, doubt it. His body doesn't seem to have any visible wounds, and there's no blood anywhere." Kakyoin pointed out.
"There's also the fact that there's blood on the gun either. If he did shoot himself, then there would have at least some little stains of blood on it." Makiko added.
"But there must've been a cause to this man's death, otherwise this just isn't natural." Nate said.
"You just took the words right out of my mouth." Polnareff agreed with Nate here.
"Just look at him! His face is all twisted, like he was screaming in utter terror!" Polnareff looked at the horror expression.
"Astounding. You gotta wonder who or what he shot at with that gun. What exactly happened?" Joseph wondered if this man was fighting somebody earlier.
"Hold on, shouldn't something like this alerted the people right now?" Anna noticed the people of this town aren't reacting to this at all.
"Oh dear, it would seem the people don't give a shit about the poor man who is no longer among this world." Kimi commented but felt hatred at how these people aren't doing anything about the corpse.
Kakyoin looks around, wondering why anyone isn't doing anything to help. And then he spotted a woman nearby with a baby in arms.
"Ma'am, wait! Someone has died here! Please call the police!" Kakyoin called out.
The woman the boy and turned around, only to reveal that her face has some disgusting and boils that gross out Kakyoin like he had just seen a ghost.
"Pardon me, young man. My boils seem to be festering today." The boiled face woman said.
"My apologies, you had a question. What was it that you needed?" The boiled face woman asked. Kakyoin quickly regain his sentence.
"I asked if you could please call the police, ma'am." Kakyoin repeated what he said about the dead man.
"The police? What would I do that for?" The boiled face woman asked, looking genuinely puzzled.
This didn't sit right with Kakyoin. How could this woman not know anything about the dead man on the street.
"Look! That man's dead." Kakyoin pointed at the corpse.
But once again, the woman looks puzzle still while scratching one of the boils.
"Someone is dead, you say? How terribly unfortunate. I'm not sure if there is anything I can do about that." The boiled face woman said.
"I already asked you to call the police twice." Kakyoin yelled, feeling frustrated at this woman.
"Of course, call the police. I think you did say that. Well, good day, sir." The boiled face woman turned around and walked away while mentioning that her boils are infected and feeling so terribly itchy.
Kakyoin while covering his mouth as he almost felt like he was about to throw up, then look around in this town.
"What is with the people in this town? There's a man lying dead in the street, and nobody seems even the slightest big concerned." Kakyoin saw every person he could see despite the fog as they are completely unaware or unfazed by the dead man.
"Didn't they hear the gunshot?" Kakyoin asked.
"Kakyoin!" Nate called out as she runs up to him.
"I just spoken to a few people of the town, and they never noticed a thing, not even caring about removing the corpse from the street." Nate informed.
"You gotta be kidding me. These people are more oblivious than most jaded New Yorker or Tokyotie." Kakyoin puzzled.
Jotaro then noticed another weird thing coming close by, a dog.
"(That dog.)" Jotaro thought recalled seeing that dog before on the road, but he was sure that it was dead from the looks of it.
"Is it me, or is this fog getting thicker?" Anna asked.
"It's not you, this damn fog is getting harder to see through." Makiko said.
"It's almost like the fog is swallowing the town whole." Kakyoin commented.
"I'm telling you guys; this fog feels extreme bad like my instincts are saying that I should get out of this town right now." Makiko clutched his fist and getting her guards up.
"This is getting freaky." Kimi commented.
"Hey, call me crazy, but doesn't that part there look like a skull?" Polnareff asked as he looks up at the sky.
Looking up, the Stardust Crusaders can indeed see the skull part which creeps Kimi out the most begging that it isn't a ghost while clenching onto Jotaro.
But what they don't know is that the skull part is actually the face of a Stand, the Stand that represents the Justice card from the Tarot deck. The very Stand that belongs to Enyba which our heroes have no idea about nor fully know the danger that they stumble upon.
Justice, when materialized, it appears as a skeletal phantom wearing a large crown decorated with jeweled arches and a spike on top, with the clouds of fog swirling around its head and hands like a robe. The skull of Justice also lacks some teeth. It also has two right hands, much like its user, Enya, and her son.
"Hey guys, can we leave now? I don't wanna be near that corpse anymore." Anna begged.
"Yes, let just find ourselves a stupid hotel or better yet, let's drive out of this town!" Kimi suggested, looking a bit scared.
"Hold on, we can't just leave yet. We need to figure out what happened here." Joseph pointed down at the corpse.
"So, do you think this could be the work of an enemy Stand User?" Jotaro asked.
"Eh, probably not. There's no motive. Why would someone who's after us kill a man who has nothing to do with us before we even got here? There's no reason for a Stand User to kill him." Joseph pointed out.
"I wouldn't be too sure of that. I heard about this one Stand User who kills a lot of people for money, mostly involved plane crashes. There was another Stand User who murders people for fun, but I took care of that guy." Makiko mentioned.
"In any case, the way this guy died is unnatural. Let's examine the body before the police come." Jotaro suggested, much to Kimi and Anna's protest.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
