Red.
The strawberries were bright red, not the brilliant copper or flame shade he had grown to love, but it still reminded him of her. He pushed his plate away, letting out a sigh. His parents stared on at him, worried looks creeping across their faces.
Brown.
The ice cream was brown, a paler shade than His hair color, but she was quickly reminded of him. A guilty look passed across her face, and she dug in. Her parents exchanged a look, her father responding with a simple shrug.
Blue.
Like the color of her cherished cat t-shirt, it painted the morning sky. He stood at the bus stop, staring longingly up into the expanse.
Black.
Like the stupid watch He had worn for the past few summers, the asphalt in front of her taunted her; reminding her of who she was, and who He could never be to her.
White.
Like her Gi, He longed to see her laying the smack-down on some unsuspecting classmates. The white entrance exam paper reminded him of who She was, and how important this was to him. He picked up a pen, and began with his name.
White.
Like that stupid "lucky shirt" of his, or his favorite Yankee's cap. The entrance exam paper, which taunt Him, taunted her. She stared at the name, the name of a prestigious University, one that He could never even hope to attend. Tears fell from her eyes, as she scrawled her name sloppily on the dotted line.
Green.
Like her eyes. The large expanse of greenery outside of the sprawling campus surprised Ben. He was all set for a tour today, praying that She would be there as well. He crossed his fingers, and made his way to the faculty offices.
Green.
Like the color of the books she now carried from the faculty office. Tears formed in her eyes, as she realized how much she had failed Him.
Rosy.
Like the colors that surrounded them as they bumped into each other, eyes wide.
Green.
The books clattered to the ground, forgotten as she was lost in HIS eyes.
Green.
The color that so mirrored his own eyes, shone brightly in HER'S.
Red.
As they were lost in an embrace, their lips meeting.
Red.
Her cheeks, as they separated. "Great to see you again, Doofus." She smiled at him.
Red.
His face, as he grinned back at her. "Same deal, Dweeb."
Bright.
Like the future they would face together, Ben and Gwen together again.
