Hello everyone, wolf here.

Here I am with a new chapter and I'm sure some of you have noticed an increase in the relationship tags, well the reason for this is simple: Daisuke Motomiya and Yuji Itadori in the fic are the same person and therefore the relationships that one or the other has represent the same person, but don't worry the fic will be solo anyway. However, as you can imagine, Daisuke ended up having a relationship with Nobara. Perhaps in the future I'll do a project specifically about Yuji x Nobara, but in this case their relationship was in the past.

And that's all I had to say, I hope you like the chapter and I wish you all a GOOD READ!

The door to Daisuke's room swung open to reveal Jun walking in, frowning at the dark room with the curtains drawn. She quickly looked around and saw Veemon lying on his brother's bed asleep with a blanket covering him, while Daisuke was sitting next to him in his chair against the wall, he had probably slept there all night.

It was a surprise to her and her mother when Daisuke returned to inform them that Veemon had returned and was asleep, but what worried them most was how Daisuke informed them, he seemed a little out of it, more smiling, more cheerful, but there was some kind of strange glint in his eyes when he said it and blood leaking from his nose. His brother was quick to dismiss Jun and Ayano's concerns, but they were still worried.

The girl frowned at her brother before approaching him, planning to take him somewhere more comfortable to sleep while she looked after Veemon. She promptly held out her hand to him, but Daisuke suddenly opened his eyes and grabbed his sister's wrist before facing her.

"...Ah, Jun, good morning." He greeted Daisuke by releasing her wrist, which made Jun quickly cradle it with a slight frown.

"Wow, you've really gotten stronger, you know that? That's no way to hold a lady." Mocks Jun, expecting Daisuke to come up with a mockery of his own as he usually did.

"Sorry, sometimes I forget how strong I am." Declares Daisuke before looking at Veemon. "I think we should have a vast breakfast."

Jun blinked in surprise at hearing this before turning to Veemon, at which point she remembered what a glutton the digimon was and her face quickly became a little desperate.

"Shit, we sure don't have enough food for all of us." Grumbled Jun angrily, causing Daisuke to frown before reaching into his pocket and handing a card to his sister, who stared at him in surprise.

"Huh? Daisuke, what's this?" Jun asked in confusion before taking the card and widening her eyes as she stared at it.

"Don't worry about the price, I'll pay it." Daisuke declares calmly before looking at Veemon, ignoring his sister's gaze.

When Satoru and Megumi were killed, they also took with them a large part of the Gojo fortune, which ended up being divided between Satoru's last two students: Daisuke and Yuta. In addition, Nanami left his entire inheritance to Daisuke, further increasing his bank account, which was now receiving checks with lots of zeros thanks to his position as a special grade wizard.

Money wouldn't be a problem and he could certainly spend it on his partner.

"B-but, how do you have a card like that?" Jun asked, stuttering in disbelief.

"... I got a good grade in my job." Daisuke explained, trying not to go into details, but not lying either.

Jun glared at him before huffing and storming off with the card in hand, but she stopped at the door and turned to her brother with a mischievous smile.

"I hope you don't mind paying for some late birthday present clothes, asshole." Mocked the girl, causing Daisuke to nod.

"Sure, be my guest." The boy nods before his sister stares at him in disbelief, but she leaves the room after a few seconds of staring at him.

Daisuke was silent for a few seconds before he reached out to the sleeping digimon and placed his hand on Veemon's head. He spent a good part of the night monitoring Veemon's condition until he was sure he could do what he planned.

During his training for the final fight against Sukuna, Daisuke had to learn to use reverse cursed energy, reaching a point where he could somewhat match his sensei in the manipulation and control of this energy. However, he wasn't immune to the consequences and his current energy wasn't as extensive as before, so he had to wait for a good portion of his energy to regenerate before he could properly heal his digimon.

"I hope this works..." murmured Daisuke, closing his eyes briefly before opening them with a determined look as he faced his partner.

"Reverse cursed technique."

As soon as he proclaimed these words, a blue flaming aura covered Daisuke's hand before passing to Veemon. The boy watched as his digimon's expression began to relax as smoke began to pour out of him.

"It seems to be working, what a relief..." Daisuke thought, ignoring the headache that was beginning to form.

Suddenly Daisuke's digivice began to glow and beep, before it was covered in cursed energy, causing Daisuke to stare at it.

"What?"

At that moment, the digivice began to glow with a tone similar to the energy itself before changing. The white part slowly began to change to a dark blue tone, while the blue edges changed to purple with the buttons turning red.

At the same time, Veemon began emitting a cursed energy signature, the same as Daisuke's, which made the boy turn to his digimon. Veemon's yellow markings began to expand, covering the digimon's entire body in a pattern that Daisuke knew was the same pattern Sukuna had.

However, the changes didn't end there, Daisuke noticed that Veemon's scales also began to change, they began to have a similar pattern to his arms when he uses his technique.

After a few seconds, Veemon opened his eyes, but to Daisuke's horror, he now had four eyes.

Immediately, Daisuke turned away shocked, but still looking directly at Veemon who stood up from the bed looking confused before looking at his hands opening and closing their fingers. Veemon suddenly turned his face towards Daisuke with his eyes meeting him.

The two stared at each other with a palpable tension between them, while Daisuke swallowed dryly, he could have killed Sukuna by possessing Megumi's body, but he couldn't find the strength to face Veemon.

"Daisuke?" Veemon asked in confusion before smiling.

The digimon quickly stood up and leapt at Daisuke who still couldn't move and just closed his eyes, preparing for his probable end. However, what Daisuke didn't expect was Veemon's embrace.

Daisuke's eyes widened at the sight of Veemon hugging him, that familiar warmth of his digimon was the same and the cursed energy inside him resonated with that inside Daisuke. Slowly, the boy raised his arms and wrapped them around Veemon, hugging him tightly before he began to tremble and fell to his knees, which the digimon noticed.

"Daisuke?"

"Ah Veemon...Veemon..." Called Daisuke crying as he lowered his face sobbing while holding Veemon tightly.

Veemon didn't understand exactly what was going on, but he wasn't going to complain about a hug from Daisuke, so the digimon simply hugged him back.

(Scene break.)

Jun, Ayano and Daisuke watched in amazement as Veemon continued to eat very voraciously, more than they were used to.

"Ah... Your food is as perfect as I remember, Mom!" Veemon praises with stars in his eyes as he eats a bowl full of rice.

"Thank you Veemon..." thanks the woman confused by the digimon's new form.

As well as the obvious changes, Veemon was also bigger, whereas before he was the size of a stuffed toy, now he was the size of a child. She was also concerned about the wilder appearance of her third 'son', his sharp teeth and claws were things that Veemon certainly hadn't had before.

"...Good thing you gave me that card, asshole." Jun commented, staring at Veemon eating.

Daisuke, meanwhile, stood silently staring at Veemon before getting up and pulling out his cell phone, which made the other three at the table stare at him.

"Daisuke?" Veemon asked, noticing the serious look on his partner's face.

The boy stopped in his tracks when he heard the digimon calling him, he took a moment before turning to face Veemon, Jun and Ayano who were staring at him.

"...Sorry, I have a call to make, I'll be right back." Daisuke declared before walking away.

(Meanwhile.)

Shoko let out a puff of smoke as she sat in a large penthouse smoking her cigarette looking out over the city. She had a few minutes before her shift started so she could check on the situation of the sorcerers who fought Sukuna to treat them or note the time of their deaths.

She let out a tired sigh, closing her eyes and enjoying the breeze as her cell phone began to ring. The woman sighed again before picking up the handset and accepting the call.

"Moshi moshi." Shoko greeted.

"Shoko-san, we have a problem." Declares Daisuke seriously on the other end of the call.

"What happened?" Shoko asks, stubbing out her cigarette before walking back into her apartment.

"Veemon came back wounded and I healed him with cursed energy, something happened to him." Upon hearing this Shoko stops completely with a thoughtful expression on her face.

"Veemon, Veemon... Ah, that creature you told Satoru about, right?" Shoko asks after a few seconds, until she remembers when Satoru told her about his students and Daisuke's past.

"Yes, I think I may have turned him into some kind of hybrid and curse, he's still connected to my digivice, but now I feel my cursed energy inside him... no, he has exactly the same cursed energy as me, I think we're sharing it." Daisuke says, making Shoko sigh in frustration.

"Not even in death can Satoru give me peace... now it's his students who torment me." The woman laments before picking up a notebook and pen. "What's your address? I'll come by after work."

(Back with Daisuke.)

Daisuke disconnected the call before sighing and leaning on the table, closing his eyes, trying to gather his thoughts.

"It's your fault, you know that right?" Commented a voice that froze Daisuke, the boy slowly turned towards a mirror and he saw himself, but it wasn't him, it was someone Daisuke had come to hate with all his might, someone he had killed, it was Ryomen Sukuna using his body.

"You precious Veemon, he looks so much like me, I wonder to what extent, would he be able to do all the horrors I've already done? Or... the horrors you've done?" asks Sukuna with a mischievous smile, making Daisuke glare at him.

"Veemon is nothing like us." Daisuke growls, making Sukuna laugh again.

"Of course not, he's something new, so much untapped potential... so much interesting power, what do you think V-laser would be like now? Something like my dismantle? Maybe V-Punch is something like your divergent fist? A mixture of our techniques, that would be interesting, don't you think?" Sukuna asks.

"Shut up, you're not real..." Daisuke declared, shaking his head, making Sukuna laugh.

Daisuke hated that laugh, he hated it.

"I'm not real? I certainly must agree, I'm not in that mirror, but in your little friend? I wouldn't be too sure."

"Leave Veemon out of this!" Exclaims Daisuke without realizing the cursed energy coming out of him.

(In the kitchen.)

"Huh?" comments Veemon as he turns his head towards Daisuke's room, making the two women stare at him.

"Is there a problem, Veemon?" Jun asks, turning to the digimon.

(Back to his room.)

"How hypocritical of you, you who introduced him to our world and now you want to stop him from meeting me? What a mediocre upbringing you have, I remember you were more polite before... But don't worry, I'll make sure Veemon continues to know about respect and his rightful place."

At that moment Daisuke's fist hit the mirror, breaking through the wall.

The boy quickly retracted his fist, ignoring the cuts on his hand and the broken mirror as smoke began to emanate from his hand while the cuts regenerated.

"Daisuke!" Exclaims Veemon as he enters the room concerned when he sees Daisuke looking at the broken mirror.

(Scene breaks.)

A girl was sitting in a room with a book and a notebook open as she wrote, looking focused on what she was doing.

She was a very pretty girl, fair-skinned, with short brown hair, eyes of the same color, wearing a simple white shirt with black shorts, she was Hikari Kamiya, the chosen digi bearer of the crest of light.

Suddenly, Hikari shuddered and turned back with a frightened look on her face. She looked around the room for a few seconds before sighing.

The room was quite small with a bed, a desk and a closet with a few shelves with books, stuffed animals and pictures scattered around the room.

"Calm down, Hikari, it's nothing, everything's fine." Hikari murmured to herself before returning to what she was doing.

However, she soon stopped as she looked at a picture frame that had a photo of her with her friends, from the second team of digi-chosen before Daisuke moved in. It was a big shock for all of them at the time, none of them knew that Daisuke was moving out and it didn't help that they had just found out that his father had passed away.

Of all of them, Hikari was the most affected, mainly because just before all of this happened, she and he didn't have a good farewell.

(Flashback.)

She had a date, Hikari had a date!

Hikari couldn't help but feel happy and excited about her situation, she was finally going to meet up with her childhood friend Takeru Takaishi, or simply TK, the two of them had known each other since childhood and had grown very close after experiencing various adventures in the digital world. It also helped that their crests resonated with each other, hers being light and Takeru's being hope.

The girl was at school, walking towards the school entrance. At that time, there would be no other students, apart from the digi-choosers, but Yolei and Iori had already left at that time and Daisuke would probably also have gone with them or with Ken, giving Hikari and TK the perfect opportunity to go out together.

However, just as she was about to leave, Hikari realized that someone was already there, someone she hadn't expected: Daisuke.

It was no secret to anyone that he had a crush on her and although he was cute at times, it wasn't something she liked, especially in the current situation. She didn't hate him, far from it, but today she and TK were planning to start a relationship.

Daisuke on the other hand didn't seem to notice her, standing with a thoughtful expression on his face looking at the screen of a cell phone in his hand while the other held a soccer ball until he noticed her, raising his head and smiling at her.

"Hey Hikari-chan!" He greeted Daisuke smiling at her, which made Hikari pause, feeling a little sorry for having to dash his hopes... but they couldn't go on like this anymore and she didn't want to hurt him any more in the future. "Listen, can we talk? I... I need to talk to you."

"I'm sorry Daisuke." Hikari declared, interrupting him. "I can't and won't reciprocate your feelings."

For a second Daisuke seemed surprised by what she said, his eyes widening as he stared at her, the pain in his eyes almost making Hikari stop, but she knew she had to be honest now.

"What?" asked Daisuke, making Hikari look at him seriously.

"I'm sorry, but I love TK, I want you to know that I really cherish our friendship, but I can't see you as anything more than a friend. Please Daisuke, for your own sake, I beg you to get over these feelings you have about me and I hope you find someone else for yourself." With that, Hikari gives Daisuke a quick curtsy before walking away, leaving him alone at the school gate.

(End of flashback.)

The day after that, Hikari found out from her classmates that Daisuke had left school, his father having died the day before. Hikari never thought she would feel as bad as she did that day, she really wanted Daisuke to stop hitting on her and to stop liking her romantically... but she didn't want to say it under those conditions.

Worse still, she realized that he didn't want to talk to her about his feelings, or confess, he wanted to talk as friends about what had happened and Hikari in her ignorance and ego crushed his feelings mercilessly before going on a date.

As soon as classes were over, Hikari had gone straight to the Motomiyas' house, wanting to talk to Daisuke and apologize for the misunderstanding she had commented on, but found out that he had gone to live with his grandfather. The girl felt awful for most of the rest of the year, which had a negative impact on her relationship with TK. In the end, the two continued dating for a few months before breaking up.

Nowadays, Hikari was a model student, but she also began to be more careful with her words at all times, and it was very common for her to think a little too much before answering more sensitive questions. Despite this, the loss of Daisuke soon showed its consequences for Hikari, her days became much quieter, but she couldn't stand it, Daisuke was always there, even as a friend talking to her, trying to cheer her up or even make Hikari smile.

Hikari only realized how much Daisuke meant to her when he disappeared, unfortunately.

What's more, another thing that changed completely was the way Ken began to treat her; you could tell that the two of them were no longer friends despite Yolei's best efforts to mend that bridge. Ken was Daisuke's best friend and fusion partner, so when he disappeared, Ken was the first to notice and started to put the pieces together, he was always clever and thanks to that he quickly figured out what had happened.

Hikari sighed before rubbing her face, turning away from her homework and looking up at the ceiling. It had been almost 5 years since she had seen or heard from Daisuke. Why now of all times would she remember him?

Suddenly she heard a pop, startled and looking at the source, Hikari's eyes widened as she saw her team photo cracked, but each of the cracks was covering the faces of Iori, Yolei and Ken. She quickly stood up in astonishment as a shiver ran down her spine.

The girl quickly looked around, but seeing nothing, she swallowed, before looking towards her digivice standing in front of the table, already forming a theory of what was going on.

(Scene break.)

Daisuke remained silent as he avoided the horrified stares of his family. After having the hallucination with Sukuna, he didn't think it would be good to keep it a secret, especially with Veemon's condition, so he told Jun, Ayano and Veemon everything.

And he really meant everything.

He told them about Sukuna's fingers, his execution, the curses, the sorcerers, the war, the deaths, Shibuya and Shinjuku. At first, Daisuke didn't want to go into detail, just talk about the basics, but at some point he just started to spill out, telling every detail as he remembered it.

Daisuke had to stop many times to get some of the thoughts and memories out of his head, but he kept talking, telling his whole story.

To his family's credit, neither Jun, Ayano nor Veemon interrupted him, Daisuke didn't know if it was out of shock or horror, but he was grateful to finally be able to talk to someone about it.

"Daisuke..." murmured Veemon in an embarrassed voice that made Daisuke bow his head in shame.

He wouldn't be able to see the look on his partner's face after telling him all this.

"Daisuke!" Exclaims the Digimon as he runs towards his partner and hugs him, much to Daisuke's shock. "You stupid Daisuke! You should have called me, I could have helped you!"

"Veemon... why?" asks a shocked Daisuke, looking at Veemon. "Didn't you hear me? I killed thousands of people in Shibuya, I released Sukuna in this age, I'm a monster..."

Suddenly a pop echoed through the apartment as Daisuke's head was turned to the side with a slight burning in his cheek. Slowly, Daisuke turned his head to face Ayano who had a stern expression on his face.

"Holy shit..." Murmured a startled Jun, never once in their entire lives had Ayano hit either of them, regardless of the situation.

"Daisuke Motomiya, I never want to hear you call yourself a monster again." Ayano orders angrily, making Daisuke glare at her.

"B-but I failed, I didn't contain Sukuna and I-I destroyed Shibuya..." Daisuke mutters stutteringly, before Ayano reaches out to grasp both sides of his head, forcing him to face her.

"Daisuke, it wasn't your fault, everything that happened was the fault of that monster who possessed you, you're not a monster and never will be. You're my son and that will never change... I'm so proud of you." Ayano declares as tears start to fall from her eyes, something that has also happened to Daisuke.

"M-mother..."

At that moment, Ayano hugged Daisuke, something that was immediately responded to by her son who began to cry and sob while holding her. Ayano ignored the sounds and just concentrated on holding her tormented son; if she had known this would happen, she would never have agreed to Daisuke moving in with his grandfather.

"It's okay, it's okay." Ayano assured, stroking Daisuke's head.

Jun and Veemon watched the scene in silence, not knowing how to help, but they felt that Ayano had the right idea, so they let her get on with what she was doing.

(Meanwhile)

A groan echoed as a pair of eyes opened before a boy began to rise with difficulty from a stretcher.

The boy was tall with straight black hair with a thick bandage on his forehead, he had gray eyes and pale skin wearing only a hospital gown, this was Yuta Okkotsu, the current strongest sorcerer in the world.

"...I'm alive?" Yuta asked, surprised despite the pain in his body.

"It seems so." Shoko commented as she approached him, writing something on a clipboard before facing him. "How do you feel, Yuta?"

Yuta stared at Shoko for a few seconds before sighing and returning to the stretcher exhausted, as soon as his head hit the pillow he let out a breath of air before staring at the ceiling.

"Maki, she..."

"She's still alive, wait a few hours and use the reverse cursed energy technique on yourself to visit her later." Shoko warned without any surprise on her face, she was used to such antics.

"I see, good." Yuta commented, smiling with relief before looking away, his eyes widening at the sight of several other stretchers with bodies covered in cloths. Immediately, Yuta stood up, shocked by the number of covered bodies.

"How many..."

"Practically everyone, hardly anyone survived. So far the only ones I can say are alive and have a chance of recovery are you, Daisuke, Maki and Hakari." Shoko explains with a frown on her face.

"...Toge... he..."

"A few hours ago, Toge Inumaki died of his wounds and blood loss, for what it's worth, he died peacefully in his sleep." Shoko declares, making Yuta clench his fists.

"I see, thank you for informing me." Yuta nods angrily.

Shoko nods before they both hear a bang outside, which makes the woman sigh as Yuta looks on in surprise.

"Just a second, it looks like one of my other patients is getting impatient." Shoko commented before leaving the ward.

While this was going on, Yuta just stared blankly at the situation as he remembered the fight. He remembered how he 'possessed' Satoru Gojo's body to fight, how he made Toge join the battle to get access to the cursed speech, how the two of them were hit by Sukuna's expansion soon after. The last thing Yuta remembered was Daisuke approaching Sukuna from behind.

Suddenly the infirmary doors were opened by Shoko pushing a wheelchair with a person sitting in it.

It was a girl who was tall, with pale skin covered in several burn scars, she had several bandages covering her with short dark hair and green eyes, she was also wearing an outfit similar to Yuta's.

"Maki!" Yuta exclaimed with a relieved smile, which made the girl grin mischievously at him.

"I knew you wouldn't die." Greets Maki, making Yuta laugh.

Shoko calmly takes Maki's wheelchair to Yuta's side of the bed before walking away, she thought it was appropriate for the two of them to have some time alone now.

(Back with Daisuke and his family)

"...So, we had more siblings?" Jun asked in confusion, causing Daisuke to shrug.

"Yes, Choso, Eso and Kechizo, the three of them were half human and half curse." Daisuke nodded before looking at Veemon who was listening intently. "...Maybe Veemon is more like them than we are now."

This earned some confused looks from his family.

"What do you mean, Daisuke?" Ayano asked him, causing Daisuke to sigh.

"When Veemon showed up he was very injured and exhausted, I used a bit of a difficult technique to heal him." Daisuke explains before raising his hand before it is covered in a bluish aura. "That's the cursed energy, it comes from the negative emotions inside humans that make it possible to use our techniques and spells, but there's another way too."

With that, the aura changed color to something smoker.

"The reverse cursed energy technique, this technique is the change of cursed energy into positive energy used mainly for healing users and restoring cursed energy. I used it to heal Veemon, which resulted in his new form." Daisuke explains, making Veemon stare at him.

"...Cursed Veemon..." Jun murmurs, looking at the digimon who seems to be getting excited about his new name.

"Yes. I admit that I don't know exactly what happened, if Veemon is still a digimon or if he's become a hybrid between a digimon and a curse, in fact I've already called a specialist to help me, she should be here by nightfall probably." Daisuke explains, making everyone nod before the boy looks at the digimon. "But since we're having this conversation, what happened to you Veemon?"

Hearing this, Veemon looked surprised before widening his eyes in panic.

"Ah! I forgot to warn you!" Exclaims Veemon in panic, startling the other three in the apartment.

"Warn me? Warn me about what?" asks Daisuke, getting up from the table.

"The human and digital worlds are in danger, Yolei, Iori and Ken have been defeated! The digimons will attack!" Exclaims Veemon, making Daisuke's eyes widen.

"...Shit."

And that's all folks.
