Toon Link had a spectacular week with his counterparts. As Master Hand registered everyone a grand return, the veterans such as Ice Climbers, Pokemon Trainer, Pichu, Wolf, and Young Link into the fray of tournament.
But he hasn't seen Snake returned? He assumes the man is on the mission or stealth.
It was outstanding, for his perspective, seeing the counterpart of Time and Ganondorf as well. This time, Toon Link felt an unsettling aura since the evil of darkness provided a large broadsword that out range his Master Sword.
Toon Link noticed that the Breath of the Wild has joined as a new incarnation of Twilight. He would truly miss the Twilight counterpart. He gave the tour the new recruit and veteran around the establishment, which everyone gathers to greet Young and Wild Link especially.
They seemed to adore them.
Toon Link was happy for all of them.
But he felt left out. Neglected. Which aches his heart that the outcome he'll be the less favor or known to represent his universe. Is it the changes of his skill set compared to others?
Toon Link decided to roam around the mansion, viewing newcomers as having a good time. Ryu and Ken, Chrom and Lucina, Peach and Daisy, and so on.
He was alone, strolling through the hallway as he preferred to meet newcomers... Of course, neither was present.
He came across a hallway filled with a large vase with blue flowers, very tempting to break, but learn how to contain his urge for Rupees. But of course, he admired the exquisite pattern.
He stumbled upon a 4-way hallway, filtered by each room for all the universe. The walls are embellished of Smash and mostly concrete colored. Two hallways have red and blue painted walls, gleamed by the light suspending the roof.
He went forward, heading to the red section where his room was located. While strolling alone, he sighed, trying to cheer himself after the realization that he may not be notable for the tournament.
Taking about 30 steps, passing Sonic, ROB, Wolf, and Lucario room, he spotted an unusual doodle on the wall on his left. Raising a brow, he investigated the red bullseye doodle with arrows proped in sloppy angles. Some were out of the ring, and only two were almost in the center. He was confused about why or who—
Upon inspection, he realized it belonged to Link. He could've swore Link was outside on the courtyard, busy meet and greet the companions. He decided to pluck the arrow from the wall and—
—and an arrow flew right past his right ear. Toon Link expressed a shocking surprise. What a sense of his heart skip a beat. He hastily turned in the direction with shocking expression.
Toon Link felt his soul momentarily leave his body because he was nearly ended by someone. But it was nothing he could possibly think who, but he viewed a Green Kirby, who was holding Link's wooden bow over the royal carpet on the other side of the wall.
And he looked really shocked as well.
The two green warriors eyed each other briefly. Toon Link eyes fell to the arrow in his grasp. He looked concerned because Kirby inhaled a person outside battle? It's dangerous—
Before he began thinking the Green Kirby motive, he fled. Running away, creating puffy clouds of smoke as he scurried so quickly like a cartoon.
Toon Link was baffled (despite he don't talk but expressing his facial) cause of Kirby inhaled Link? Did Twilight Link fail to make it because of him?
The Hero of Wind interests peaked as he followed Kirby, setting down the arrow on the ground and haul chasing the Green Kirby without notice.
Around the hallway, Toon Link makes his beacon low as he analyzed the Green Kirby entered his room. Masking himself behind the hallway, back against the wall, peeking. Kirby closed the door harshly after his accident, causing him to feel distressed.
Toon Link approached the door quietly, awaiting surprises for him by his friends. Nothing occurred. Luckily, his homeland, Tetra, taught him to tread carefully through the enemy fortress and wary of his surroundings.
He went on his knees and examined the small pink wooden door with a star doorknob. He was hesitant on twisting the knob, but he knew Kirby was always friendly and never locked his door.
Eventually, he twists the knob and reveals a small tunnel feasible for him and Kirby ironically. He laid his stomach to the ground and crawled with elbows. This tunnel reminds him of Windfall Island as he crawls through the maze and meets Tingle behind a cell.
On the other side of the tunnel is light and grass. It was a short trip from the entrance to Kirby room. This would be his first time entering Kirby room without him.
Toon Link made it to the other side, and it was breathtaking. Kirby Dream Land is a whole continent—er, Popstar Planet. His room is Outset Island, where he resides with his family: Grandma and sister Aryll. Surrounded by sea and rare to spot grass and trees, Kirby was... astonishing. Cute little stars included.
He straightened his back, dusting his tunic from debris and dust to catch a sight of green greens. Following the only dirt path to whatever it leads, he thought it'll be a start for a tour inside Kirby domain. Over the riverside, he was shocked to see holes and explosions?
Dead burnt grass left to wilt and thinned into ashes... a forest fire?
Strolling through the hill, there was a crater, some tree that also had a huge hole.
Maxim Tomato was floating...?
His curiosity grew as he poked the Maxim Tomato, squinting for any effects. The strange PSI magic caused it to float, and it fell upon contact, hitting the grass.
There were metal blades scattered around the field, along with arrows. Toon Link eyes widen in shocked to spot Link arrows! The Kirbies were attacked?!
Toon Link grew defensive as he walked. He reached out to the end of the forest, a massive abundance of space surrounded by trees. There was a rustling sound of bushes nearby, and Toon Link drew out his Master Sword from the holster and Hero's Shield.
He grew tense, his guard of combatant experience as a warrior, slowly crept his way to the source, his face twitched. Whoever is attacking Kirby room is a threat... but he recalled the Green Kirby fled back into his room?
He raised his Master Sword...
A Green Kirby appeared, poking his head with Link hat, and he appeared to be crying.
Toon Link froze in place and relatively felt really bad, and he posed a threat based on his armament. He sheathed his Master Sword and Shield and decided to overlay on passive approach. He kneeled to one knee and slowly raised his left hand towards Kirby.
The Green Kirby blinked under his watery eyes. He was frowning deeply, expressing to apologize for the incident. He pushed the bush aside and observed the Hero of Wind openly gesture hand and back to the young hero, who showed a sympathetic look.
Green Kirby stepped forward, closing in to the young hero. A kindly gesture that the hero expressed, Green Kirby uses his stubby hand to reach out but retracted due to fear.
Toon Link remained stationary, adding a gentle small grinned. Green Kirby has the courage to accept him despite the accident and rests his stub on his palm.
Toon Link sensed of relief in his heart. He didn't mean to scare away the baby. He had a long day feeling sullen and encountered Kirby practices in the hallway (which is not permitted). He believed he was practicing Link ability—
Then again, how did Kirby obtain his hat...?
But the Green Kirby happily nodded.
And Kirby let go of his grasp, crying incoherent gibberish from his tiny mouth. "Ooouupuuyoo..."
Toon Link didn't know what he was crying out, but it eventually answered his question when multiple of Kirbies appeared behind the bushes, trees, and the sky from concealing themselves.
He checked his surroundings. The Red appeared to have Mario Hat, the Blue with Mega Man, Yellow is Ness, Orange is Samus helmet, Gray is Captain Falcon, and Dark Violet has Meta Knight mask.
In surprised, Toon Link looked at each Kirbies and explained the mess they performed in their open area. The Green Kirby approached Toon Link, removing the counterpart hat and returning it to him as an apology. Surely astounded because Kirby apparently didn't eat anyone. He had to remove his ability by his unique control of doing so. It came to the conclusion that there was no harm done and enemies present.
They were playing with each other.
Perhaps he was fond of collecting hats because everyone was so busy? So he can roleplay like his friends?
Toon Link concurred by slightly frowning when he understood Kirbies to get a thrill out of melancholy. Being alone sucks, especially experiencing his sister Aryll getting aducted, who took a toll out of him. He respectfully declined by shaking his head and pushing the hat back to Kirby, thinking the Green Kirby should have a good time with each other.
A bunch of Kirbies took an act by attacking Toon Link out of surprise, leaving the Hero of Winds staggered.
"Waahhh!" Toon Link cried.
All the Kirbies piled him to harass...
...Harass him with hugs and kisses.
And Toon Link couldn't help but chuckled.
...
Kirby was prancering happily through the hallway with Princess Peach tiara above his head. He had an awesome day with a friend on teaparty!
Before he left, Peach informed him that if there were any signs of the Master Hand, she would be the only person to take his response. Kirby will relay the message if there is, but for now, his tummy is full of sweets and herbal tea that he's feeling sleepy. It seem really important whatever Peach has in mind.
But this hat Kirby really likes! It matches with his favorite princess.
He skidded to his room, noticing his room as gaping wide. He recalled closing the door before he left, but he believed it could be his friends or maybe...
A visitor?
So Kirby ran inside, excited, and the tiara was unfazed as he sprinted across through the only path.
He returned to his Dream Land room, witnessing the mess his friends were playing it. Kirby was really happy it reminded him of his friends if they're weren't that busy. He raced off into the forest, seeking his friends which he knows himself they liked open field to practice.
He stumbled upon a pile of his friends on something or someone, slowing down his pace, and Kirby let out a soft moan of curiosity. Two of his friends spotted his pink friend zooming in and waved at him happily.
"Hiiii!" The Gray one greeted through his Captain Falcon helmet.
"Hiiii!" The Yellow added after.
When two Kirbies spoke up, the rest paused their assault of cuteness on someone who began to rise up in a sitting position. It was a boy who chuckled in massive piles of chunky babies, and Toon Link saw the culprit, who was secretly snagging the hats.
And Kirby looked shockingly surprised.
Toon Link cap fell, being tackled by a bunch of Kirbies and took his hat back on the ground. He wore it over his head and rose to his feet, dusting off particles of silt... and probably a bunch of kisses. He expressed a small grinned, approaching Kirby who still looked surprised.
Kirby snapped out of his stance and blinked, watching the small hero in green approach. Toon Link knelt to one knee and pointed at Kirby tiara, belonging to Princess Peach. Kirby didn't know what he was trying to gesture, but he was referring to a hat. Kirby looked really sad—he felt he was caught for taking hats.
But neither was a case because Toon Link shook his head and smiled. He pulled out his bow and glanced at the Green one, which was awed and mostly curious of Hero of Winds.
Toon Link rose to his feet, slipped into a position comfortable to have a better grip on his bow, and take aim on a nearby tree. Adjusting his alignment with his arrow and releasing the string. It flew, cutting the air in high speed and bullseye to an odd hole.
The eight Kirbies watched the hero shoot an arrow in amazement. Their soft moans slipped through their tiny mouth. Toon Link gazed at the Green one particularly, using his free hand to index the tree.
A target practice Toon Link was creating a mini-game for the green one, and he looked really happy to join him. His genuine passion to help the green one a better aim, and all the Kirbies cheered for him.
The Green Kirby pulled out his bow magically and took aim, observing his stance before. He felt really comfortable on the stance to hold the bow, and he released one wooden arrow. Just like his formation, Kirby nailed it on the first try. It landed beside his arrow. All the Kirbies encored, patting their stubs together to congratulate their friend.
Toon Link put away his bow into his inventory and smiled. The Green one hugged him, causing the Hero of Winds to feel warm and fuzzy again. Kirby curiously tiptoed to the hero and tilt his body. He wondered if Toon Link would tell his plans of using abilities outside the tournament.
Toon Link understood the squishy hero, and he simply shook his head to answer the curious star warrior. Instead, Toon Link expressed his interest by a fist pump, indicating he wanted to play with Kirby, too.
Kirby adorable curious face emerged a huge smile as he really liked to play with his friends! This hero decides to play with him and maybe help him out getting hats!
Kirby responded by contacting his stub to Toon Link's waiting fist a pump.
The seven Kirbies look really happy as they cheered. Toon Link grinned, showing his teeth in happiness, willing to play with Kirby.
Kirby got a friend to play with!
A/N—Toon Link is the underrated character and a mid tier sadly, but I decided to add him to the party because I've seen so many Kirby and Toon Link art... they're so adorable that I rarely see fanfics of them?
Why people you must write something cute together?
