When it comes to meal time, a cafeteria gets served to the famous fighters in the roster. The exquisite platter served and homemade meals right in the mansion. The Master Hand assigned the clones of himself to assist the selected fighters. Each fighters get a personal chef that fulfill their satisfaction.

Although, it's been two weeks since its disappearance. The room was mostly deserted, taken over by dust bunnies and thrash into their storage pantry. The kitchen was a mess of rotten perishable, shattered glass on the floor undisturbed, bundle of trash littered everywhere, and large plates that stack in the sink without being washed for days. Only a few fighters with cleaning manners kept it a little tidy.

Even the perishable were gone in moments. The only ones are dried, produces like onions, potatoes, or vacuum sealed packages.

Kirby was truly disappointed that his table was empty for a long excessive time. He was really hungry, and he had been wandering around the universe for food or companion to play with.

Toon Link is a light eater, he prefer his Grandma's soup, wild-caught fish, berries, and clean water. He was used to surviving with dried trail mix, nuts, and grains. Recently, he visited Outset Island to salvage food for Kirby. He didn't mind using his free time feeding the chunky pink baby.

The two thought it's a good idea to gather more non-perishable in the cafeteria. Kirby was on Toon Link's right as the heroes strolled through the mansion, heading to specific spot that replenish their energy. They reached the large entrance with fascinating furbishing of red curtains tied up and a symbol of the Smash symbol with a chef hat.

Kirby and Toon Link surveillance the large gorgeous cafeteria. Before they stepped in, they heard an unsatisfied customer and spotted one friend who was possessively snagging a rucksack and shove numerous garlic, dried snacks, and mostly onions. A big, smelly, bulky man wearing a biker oufit sounded irritated.

"Where's the Master Hand serving us?!" The man screeched, stuffing his sack indignantly.

Kirby and Toon Link observed the fighter named Wario, who seemed not pleased with this situation. They would like to collect their necessary materials for themselves, but it's wise not to pester this infuriating fighter.

But Kirby didn't pause to think of any actions that could have consequences. He was really happy to see an old friend.

Kirby approaches the big man in a colorful outfit in curiosity, causing Toon Link to follow his friend, worried. He can't really hold back Kirby taste of walts and wanders.

Wario was throwing over his shoulder some greens like celery, lettuce, and cabbage. He was keen on his... favorite food to consume and probably give him a boost for himself. He was shoving red, white, and yellow onions into the bag. Might as well toss extra protein bars and fresh garlic.

Wario heard footsteps closing in behind him, and he despised the approach. He turned his humongous body in the direction, not amused.

He viewed the cutest warrior in the tournament and the cartoon elf boy who was known to travel the sea. Not only the elf green boy that carries a toothpick of a sword, he was known as an adorable kid in the mansion as an 'cat eyes', what Snake elaborates. Those two individuals came to a halt 10 feet away because he saw the child put his hand in front of Kirby defensively.

Wario expressed a disturbing smug because he was slightly jealous they got the attention. "Eeeehh? Whadda you two want?"

Toon Link got an unsettling feeling of being stared into his soul. He heard stories of this big man tormenting Ness and Lucas on their adventures. Turning into trophies and laughing maniacally. That smelly man even harass other fighters for petty revenge after learning his lesson. But the man tremendously aided them afterward.

It was for Master Hand.

And Toon Link isn't fond of tyrants like him. He expresses seriousness and a hint of anger. Toon Link has an instinct kicking in to withdraw his Master Sword in the mansion, which is commonly used for combat, but he can't. They're indoors, not on a field. But he persisted and expressed a scowling look.

Wario expressed interest in that kid intimidating look. He let out a sneer in response. He was supposed to be an antagonist, so he liked the role of being a baddie.

Kirby on the other hand, he didn't understand the quarrels between the two. He gazed Toon Link expression and back to Wario.

And Kirby smiled because Wario was his friend. "Hiiii!" He waved both his stubs in the air wildly.

Kirby cute introduction caught the two fighters a blank expression. Observing his cute and adorable friendly face of his pretty much dismantle the intensity between the two.

Wario glanced away from the two, using his free pinkie and digging into his large nostril. There was no comment on that little pink ball. He's just too... nice and... happy.

He didn't like it either.

Toon Link let out a gentle, yet, awkward smile how Kirby decided to break the heat with his approach. His body was tense, but he loosened because he couldn't explain why Kirby got a unique vibe that disintegrated all negative effects.

After a cheerful and bright smile from Kirby lightened, which didn't faze Wario and he resumed his stealing the foods from the mansion. "Scram. All mine!"

Kirby and Toon Link noticed the bulky man tried to steal all the foods for himself rather than leaving for others to cook. For Toon Link experience, he searches for his own food and buys meals with Rupees. In Smash tournaments, he uses gold as currency here. Toon Link knows he is known as a greedy fighter.

The Hero of Winds disapproved of Wario's action, and he attempted to challenge against him by pulling the sack away from him. To this surprise, Wario raised a brow, bemused.

Unfortunately, the man possessed a great amount of strength that he lifted the heavy sack with one sweep movement, lifting Toon Link off from the ground.

The sudden change causes the young Hylian to be in shock. But gradually transition to pout and irate look. Wario laughed at the boy struggling his feet in the air, trying to grip the sack.

Kirby watches the situation was going ugly and didn't understand the two were fighting over food for everyone. But he knows Wario liked taking stuff... or perhaps he borrowed them? He tilted his body in confusion whether it's alright to take belongings without permission?

So it's alright for him to borrow his cool looking hat with goggles, too...?

The Star Warrior decided to leap on top of Wario head and start patting him ridiculously. There were small slaps of soft and squishy damage that Wario thought his attack did absolutely no harm, and he laughed again.

"Aaah heeeehaaahaaa!" He snickered. Wario thought Kirby was trying to help this rascal who decided to interfere with his favorite foods.

But his entertainment halted because he felt Kirby was forcing his hat from his head! Kirby successfully slipped the hat out from Wario with two stubs and looked really happy.

Kirby stole a Wario hat!

Wario grew stunned and speechless how he managed to execute such strength and skill.

Kirby hopped off with his hat in both stubs and sprinted off from the cafeteria, leaving puff of smoke as he ran like a cartoon character.

Wario grew frantic and angry that it was the least expected for Kirby. Then again, he was a baby and probably influenced by his actions?

Well, Wario despises who mimics his characteristics. He's supposed to be the richest, brute, tough guy, flexing, and claimed to be good-looking in the tournament.

He hauled the sack of food away, causing Toon Link to be sent flying with approximately 60 lbs on top of him. The heavy footsteps began stomping through the cafeteria.

The sound of his footsteps faded, and Toon Link was dazed. He was semi-conscious because he hit his head on the ground, and something was definitely cause him to feel poked. He removed the sack of food onto his legs, rubbing his forehead to regain his stability, and blinked several times to adjust his blurry vision. He rubbed his closed eyelids with both hands, but he was struggling on his right. Something was preventing him from motioning.

When it hits him, he feels a sensation of stabbing on his right arm. Another sharp feeling was on his right back. Lastly, he felt overwhelmed when there was an exposed small cut on his right cheek face. It was slightly bleeding, feeling it pushing out, slowly marking his face.

Toon Link realized he was thrown into the shattered glass on the ground. The sack of food made it worse to inject the broken pieces further into his body.

Be as it may, it wasn't a huge glass, though. It really hurts for Toon Link to move. He tried his best to push the sack off of him and wiggle his legs to make any progress of slipping out. So far, he made no effort.

He winced. His tunic got a few holes, and he believed how much glass penetrated him after being tossed. As he tried to bend and stimulate his muscle gently, he counted two on his right arm, one in his shoulder blade, and two on his right back. The painful area is his right elbow.

The sack was still on top of his legs and waist. Fortunately, the weight of this sack wasn't crushing him since he witnessed Wario shoving potatoes, onions, dried packaged snacks, processed noodles, and whatever he thinks is edible. He wasn't able to lift it with one good arm.

Toon Link growled in defeat. He wished to carry around his power bracelet...

Toon Link can only be hoped to ask for any fighters who were around to help him out of it. Maybe Kirby can inhale the foods, he will find more to replace what Kirby ate. Heck, even Wario can have it back.

Toon Link sighed. He can only be submissive and beseeching for assistance very soon before his injury becomes grievous and infected if left untreated.

...

Kirby ran away, sprinting through small tunnels made by Master Hand for very small fighters to roam around freely. Wario couldn't even catch up with him. Eventually, the chase lasted 15 minutes of escaping away with the hat.

Wario was utterly frozen as Kirby slipped into a small tunnel fit for him. His jaw widened, and eyes locked in to peek the hole Kirby had fled. Soon after, Kirby was out of sight. The man finally thought about it... why was a small tunnel that led to every section of the mansion that existed in the first place?

Apparently, the Master Hand really loves Kirby.

Kirby was in a small tunnel, halfway to his dorm. He observed the cool hat from Wario. Since Wario steals, he thought it's a bright idea to take stuff to make him proud. He wore the hat, and he felt really hungry. And he was so happy that he got another hat!

"Ooouuuurrrruu..." Kirby moaned as he wore above his head. He was considering returning his Popstar planet to store the hat, but his friend, Toon Link, was not his side.

The pink marshmallow recalled he was in the cafeteria and snagged the smelly man with a strange wicked mustache. He expected Toon Link was behind him, too. Since he waited for him to travel around with him, he believed he would be at the same spot!

After all, he's a playmate! He would never let Kirby play alone... right?

Kirby gaped his tiny mouth and placed the hat underneath the red fancy fuzzy carpet where his dorm was six doors down. He was peeking around, checking his left and right side, and stepped out of the tunnel.

He began retracing his steps back to the cafeteria. Kirby found himself in a lobby, where fighters register to battle in fields for the tournament. This is the grounds to be able to battle inside without inflicting harm. Most likely turned into ragdoll so they take damage than dangerous injury.

Kirby ignored the lobby and dashed through the red carpet. He encountered the main entrance on the first floor, where the mess was intact for days. He accidentally stepped into a puddle of purple ink. He completely stopped his pace and awed, lifting his foot to see the color.

After inspecting the ink, he resumed his pace, leaving trails of squishy footsteps. The cafeteria was right there. Kirby entered the cafeteria once again and scanned his surroundings, curious and a tad concerned.

Unfortunately, Toon Link was nowhere to be seen.

.A/N—I rarely leave a note, but I might as well add a few mentions. I think so far, I laughed when Kirby got or obtained hats. This time, he 'stole' the hat, and it pretty much changed the aspect of the story.

I pretty much planned the entire story, but I would rather write at my own pace, as well as Final Fantasy XV i am currently working on.

The disappearance of Master and Crazy Hands will make an interesting concept of what was going on. I have read a bunch of War of Light battles from other writers, and I don't see much of what happened between gaps.

If you have patiently waiting when I will write your favorite characters, some are EXTREMELY limited. Hairstyle of any ability Kirby can't really replicate. In his original game, he eats and pretty much gone or dead. Well, duh. I can't guarantee I will write them with hair.

This story is only focused on Kirby with his friends who noticed some missing gestures. Too many characters (despite the roster has more than 80 characters) can be convulted. Sometimes, it's a hot mess to keep track of everything. I'm more of a small text into a bigger image than trying to write all of it with vague words and lack of our imagination.

That is all, and thank you for reading.
