Perigueux. Our crew were here to carry the Olympic Flame through this area by visiting the attractions, especially the Lascaeux Caves. They first took a rest by the area of Sorges, where they were able to share their moments and introduced themselves. During their rest, Miguel played music that made our heroes clap for them, especially the Phryges and the locals of the village. The Marsupilami and Rayman performed with magical stunt shows that amazed the locals, while Madeline and Pepito performed with a mini play of short French stories. Unbeknownst to the crew, A villainous purple woman along with her muscular yet dumb henchman were looking from afar, plotting their scheme to get rid of them.
"Mistress Yzma?" asked the muscular henchman, "What are we supposed to do by destroying them? Are you sure can come up with any plan that will work with high probabilities?"
"Of course, Kronk. Just pay attention, knucklehead. My plans will definitely work unlike those foolish villains who just wanted to prove themselves until they got bargained for!"
Yzma then described her plan. "Here is the process of my genius plan: I will sell those potions to them, to turn them into donkeys. Then I lure them with free veggies. When they get attracted by vegetables, then I lead them right into my trap and when that perfect moment arrives, I will ship them away and steal the Olympic Flame to extinguish it, then I will deal with those donkeys once and for all, by trapping them all and shipping them away forever! Hahahahahaha!"
"It's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! I tell you! Brilliant I say!" Yzma said excitedly.
"Hey, aren't donkeys supposed to be obedient and smart? And where do you plan to ship those donkeys to? For labor or entertainment?" Kronk asked.
"Or to avoid suspicion from enemies and shipping bills in high amounts, I will just have to go with another plan of my own instead!" Yzma declared. She was ready to destroy the heroes at any costs, and she is about to set her plans into motion for tomorrow.
The next day, our heroes ventured through the entire area of Perigueux. Passing by the Perigueux Catherdral as their first stop, our heroes continued striving towards the City of Lights. They soon arrived at the small riverside town of Saint-Astier, where they found the motherload of shops that provide supplies and inventories that prove to be helpful. While strolling through the market, something has caught their attention. An elderly yet fit alchemist in white was mixing and selling potions by his stall, which made Asterix, Dogmatix and Obelix felt familiar since they consider him to be part of their village.
"Getafix? What are you doing here?" asked Asterix.
"Long story short. I was busy wandering through the villages to search for ingredients to make magic potions that will aid you on the journey to Paris. What a stroke of luck to meet you and your friends here!" Getafix replied, then he warned. "However, you must be careful; I can sense that villains are around this area who are plotting to destroy you. They must be led by some sort of leader than is purely tyrannical!"
"Really?" asked Asterix. Gaulois then knew the reason why they are being relentlessly targeted by villains during their journey. It made him think of his half-Japanese rabbit friend Ricky, who had faced similar situations before during difficult situations. There could be a leader who hates his guts very much that it wanted him destroyed and cooked on the villains' platter.
"Now let's not worry about what lies ahead, shall we?" Getafix then assured the crew. Getafix then declared, "Without further ado, I am joining in the journey to Paris!"
Our heroes were excited, they have an aide that will guide them and help them escape from situations that will put them in a pickle. With Getafix recently joined the crew, our heroes marched on forward in the direction to Paris. Through the Jardin du Bouquet, our heroes played another game of hide-and-seek with the Phryges again due to the Phryges' mischievous nature. Around the Bourdeilles area, the Renaissance era buildings were fascinating to the heroes as they travelled with the Olympic Flame. When they were about to leave the area, A strange looking van with Yzma disguised as a tour guide appeared in front of our crew.
"Greetings, monsieurs!" greeted the strange tour guide. "Today I will be your guide for today, with a brilliant experience waiting at the Lascaeux Caves!"
Getafix and Madeline felt suspicious, with Gaulois being gullible again and falling for the villains. Our heroes then boarded the van, and they headed for the Lascaeux Caves. When they arrived, our crew felt a bit suspicious, but Gaulois was too gullible and he was believing that it was a free tour of the Lasceaux Caves.
"Just step inside and enjoy the prehistoric wonders before kings and empires ruled France!" exclaimed Yzma. Her plan was all set. It was a trap designed to get rid of the heroes!
"OK, Kronk. Now block the entrances to the caves so that they will be trapped inside forever!" Yzma guided. Our heroes found the ancient cave paintings, as they learned about the prehistoric life in France before kingdoms and empires came. There were paintings of cavemen hunting animals like mammoths, giant elks, bears and cave lions. While they were touring the caves, Kronk blocked the entrance by using rocks rolling down by a contraption set by Yzma.
"Did you hear something?" Asterix asked when he heard the rocks.
"I am afraid that we are trapped!" Pepito replied. Our heroes went over to the same entrance were they entered and they were in for a shock!
"Oh no, not good!" Candy wailed. Yzma has already set her plans into motion along with her slow-witted assistant Kronk and now they were trapped!
"Everyone, please stay calm! We have to find another exit!" Asterix assured them. Our heroes along with the Phryges scrambled in the search of an exit, with the Olympic Flame providing the brightness to guide them with hope. They feared of becoming cave dwellers and failing to bring the Olympic Flame to Paris, so they have to take the risk.
Just then, Dogmatix and Getafix found something, one of the entrances were not blocked, thanks to Kronk being clueless. "Come on, this way!" exclaimed Getafix. The heroes along with the Phryges went out of the Caves, finally seeing the light. When they exited the caves, they found the disguised tour guide and her Kronk. Yzma was berating Kronk for his cluelessness, causing the heroes to escape from her trap easily!
"I knew it! You tricked us into that trap again! Can't you villains ever learn?" Gorgious sighed.
"Learning! Ha! We villains never learn at all! You fools may have escaped from my trap, you clever little insects, now you prepare for extermination!" Yzma declared as she revealed her machine: a potion-launcher with wheels. Another confrontation is on the cards, with our heroes ready to teach their trappers a lesson.
Boss – Yzma and Kronk
"Just pull the lever! Kronk, don't you know that this is part of my brilliant plan to get rid of those morons for good?!" berated Yzma.
"You mean, this one?" Kronk asked as he pulled the lever.
The machine then activated, ready to launch potions. The machine started launching potions here and there, with our heroes taking cover. Those potions were flung around, with our heroes hiding behind to avoid being turned into animals. Dogmatix hid along with Gaulois, Asterix and Obelix behind a huge rock. Dogmatix then carefully analyzed the situation with Asterix and they thought up of an idea. Asterix told Gaulois and Obelix his plan, and they put it into action. Having drank the magic potion given by Getafix, Asterix lifted the rock with Obelix; they swung the huge rock at the machine. The machine fell down first; then turned one of its cannons at Yzma's direction, shooting potions at her. The potions have backfired back on Yzma, creating a magical dust cloud. It then revealed that she was turned into a little kitten again, with Kronk picking her up.
"Awww… Poor little kitty. Do you mind if I take you to a new home?" cooed Kronk decided to take the kitten to the animal shelter nearby, with the kitten getting mad.
"You deranged dimwits! That is not the end of me, I am gonna be the best emperor for one day and rule over you stinking peasants!" yelled the kitten Yzma.
Our heroes then cheered along with Getafix, with Asterix saying joyfully, "That enemy never stood against your potions, by toutatis!" With that, our crew and the Phryges are headed for Bordeaux next, another wine and rugby hotspot in France that is not to be missed.
Meanwhile in the hideout in Paris…
"Brilliant, you say? Forgot to put the so-called tag in your sentences. Your plans turned out to be a bust!" fumed Lila Rossi again.
"My dear mistress, you should practice patience. The next batch of villains waiting in other areas of France shall be more competent and successful, and that rooster will end up being on the dinner plate pretty soon…."
