Chapter 49 A Brief Stop

At ten past four, the twelve planes arrived in Zurich, only an hour and five minutes would be spent there because of a layover. After the layover, all the bladers would be on their way to Chichén Itzá in Mexico for round six.

One by one, the teams exited the planes to convene in the airport to reclaim their baggage. Luckily, no one would be in Zurich for long.

With all the baggage reclaimed, the teams separated, Tala and Luna waited for the Blitzkrieg Boyz and the Death Stars to leave, before walking hand in hand to Yo Sushi. Once there, they sat down opposite each other.

"How are you feeling, Luna?"

"I'm ok, I'm keen to blade, what about you, Tala?"

"I'm feeling pretty good to be honest, I mean so far we had four straight wins and one loss, it's funny how it can turn so easily."

"I know right, when I beat Anna, I pretty much thought I would win again but I lost to you."

"Well, you win some, you lose some, who's Anna?"

"She's on the Canadian team."

"Oh right, what's she like?"

"She's a good blader and she seems quite nice."

"What are you thinking to eat, Luna?"

"Well, Tala, most likely I'm leaning towards Korean Fried Chicken, what about you?"

"Probably Beef Teriyaki, I can order if you like."

"It's fine honestly, Tala, I really don't mind paying."

"It's alright, Luna, I'll do it."

"I can do it."

"No, Luna, I'll do it."

"Let's split it."

"Fine."

Tala and Luna momentarily got up, they walked up and placed their orders at the counter, where they split the cost before sitting back down. No sooner had the two lovers sat down, the food was placed on the table.

As they ate, Tala and Luna engaged each other in deep conversation, while savouring their food.

"So, Luna, have you enjoyed the tournament thus far?"

"I have, yes, Tala, it's been a really fun experience for me, both winning and losing especially when I battled you."

"It was fun battling against you too, Luna, you're a really great blader."

Luna smiled at the compliment, "You're a really awesome blader too, Tala, but what makes me feel even better is that we're a couple."

Tala laughed, "Luna, I couldn't be happier to have you as my girl, your encouragement, support and love is what helps me to win."

Luna's eyes filled with loving tears, "Tala, it's your love that's enabling me to battle and it fuels me for every battle I have."

"Keep in mind, Luna, that our bit beasts have played a part in bringing us together."

"How so?"

"We both possess wolves as our bit beasts."

Tala pulled out Wolborg, the arctic wolf on the bit chip glistened, Luna also extracted Greyfang and the black Northwestern wolf also gleamed.

"We'll always be together, Tala."

"One day we'll be together forever, Luna, our bit beasts will unite us once and for all."

As the two lovers put their blades away, they ate and talked, neither realised how fast time flew, it wasn't long before they split the bill equally and paid.

Tala wrapped his arm round Luna's waist, she reciprocated as the joyful tears flowed down her cheeks. The two bladers made their way back to the departure lounges for Mexico. Despite being at the departure lounges, Tala and Luna didn't separate immediately, instead they stood together with their arms round each other's waists, and held each other close.

Then Luna tearfully flung her arms round Tala's neck, he wrapped his round her waist and the two hugged and kissed before sadly parting company.

"See you at the other side, Luna."

"You as well, Tala, I'll always love you."

"As I'll always love you, Luna."

Tala and Luna hugged once more before reluctantly separating. Then the announcement came, one by one the teams boarded the planes to head for Chichén Itzá, all the bladers were excited for round six.

The planes took off one after the other, eventually they all left Zurich in the past as though it were a dream that ended up high.
