Author's Note: This is long overdue, that I know and I'm sure that some of you have a pretty hard time until now due to the pandemic. I pray for all of your safety and in good health. With that, let's get into the chapter!

Chapter 10
Segments of Preparation
Space was meant for everyone.
It's not just for a few people in science or math, or for a select group of new space trainees. Space adventure is the new frontier of this galaxy, be it in Gamma, Beta, Delta, Omega or Zeta Quadrant, and it's everybody's business to know about space.
But as for those who practice the profession to achieve it from long time ago…There was one thing the princess learned:
That astronauts were inherently insane.
Currently in Science Bay 2, an empty hangar that needed renovation after a machine exploded nearly injuring the Grubs stationed there. The area was rebuilt into four different sections. Two are still in construction while the others will be used for the princess' very special training.
The thirteen year old teen was fixing her hair in a high pony tail style while thinking about the space program documentaries.
The first thing to learn for Space expedition is to test the reactions and tolerance of space trainees to high levels of gravity. To do that, aggressive high level acceleration training program is essential and that's what she is about to undertake.
However, since the original acceleration gravity centrifuge was used in another territory of Zurg, they have to make one from scratch.
She could still hear the clinks and metal on metal from the other side of the room. The Grubs are efficient when building or constructing devices in such short amount of time with their little hands as the main tools.
Zyra gaze down at the purple and black baggy suit she dressed in.
The G-suit was design to prevent blood from pooling into the legs and stomach, away from the brain in order to maintain ones' body's center.
In other words, keeps your mind from exploding.
That's one way of saying it.
The noise from the inside stopped and the light above the door lit green.
She checked once more if the straps are secured by tightening them, she walked towards the metal door as it opened and two Brain Pods greeted her by the entrance.
They escorted her inside the room dubbed "the High-G training room" and Zyra gawked at the machine.
Occupying most of the space, the structure is the same as she has seen from astronaut in space training programs. But it was the material that made her wary. There were some metals she recognized from her father's previous failed inventions, in fact, the whole structure is made out of scraps of used parts.
The closer she got to it, the more prominent became her frown, doubting the contraption to be stable.
"Is it safe to ride a newly built machine?" Zyra knocked on the metal, feeling some rust bits falling off.
One of the Brain Pods came up to her with his clipboard, "We have thoroughly tested it with a few Grubs and it has passed all the safety standards."
"…right", she gaze to the side where some Grubs by the wall were trying to get the hold of themselves, "…Well, whatever. Let's get this over with."
First she must get inside the oval shape chair and fastened her seatbelt. The Grubs quickly inspect the safety protocols before they get started. They gave the go signal but something was missing and a cold sweat broke out on her forehead.
Zyra asked a near-by Grub almost in panic, "Hey, where are the braces to this thing? You know the one that goes over the shoulder-"
There was no time to think as the machine whirred to life. The gears starts turning from the main base making the whole cockpit moved forward slowly. She immediately grabbed on the side handles while passing by the Grubs controlling the machine.
Her vision grey out and only the stream of lights were visible by the sides. It feels like she's riding a roller coaster out of control!
By the control module, a Brain Pod listed down his observations, "Good. Good. She's ready for next speed up."
As it gets faster and faster, her entire body almost fused with the harness and chair, holding the handles for dear life.
She can feel her chin trembles from the speed, her feet had gone numb seconds ago and her eyes watered from the pressure. Her field of vision becomes narrower and the outside becomes completely blurred, the beginning of a tunnel vision.
The world is closing in around her.
A shade of darkness coming down over her vision, her mind was close to fainting.
Until the machine slows down bit by bit, bringing back her awareness of the room. The Grubs rushed to Zyra once the machine fully stops and unlock the seat belts.
Zyra walked out in a tipsy and her mind was so disoriented that she twirled around once and fall to the ground to stop the whole room from turning.
Seeing the bright lights dancing around almost making her feel sick again.
A Brain Pod come into sight with happy eyes.
"You're doing great, your highness. With this steady progress for the whole year, you'll be able to overcome it in no time."
She groaned at that.
If one ride can cause me to faint like that, how much more if in a year. What a pain!
Zyra and some newly employed Grubs boarded a jet aircraft stationed in one of the Z Tower platforms. Inside, there were twenty seats in rows, a small monitor between two doors leading to the observation deck and a few Hornet guards on the side.
The next part of the training got her excited. The whole point of this exercise is to get yourself familiar with the weightlessness of space and what better way to do it is to be actually in space.
Their destination was one of the auto-defense moons to dropped off the new recruits, re-supply and going back to Planet Z.
Zyra took the liberty of taking the seat near the wide window and to view the world outside. For now, all she can see are the red buildings and industrial factories but soon the scene will change.
Just beyond this metal wall lays an interstellar experience waiting for her to grasp its endlessness.
The trip was a quick one.
As the aircraft slowly free falls back to Planet Z, she spot the glass dome nearby the station where all the remaining plants resided.
Perhaps visiting mother will do some good for a change.
Sparring with Desmond has its benefits and consequences.
With the Star Command's training program in his data system, Desmond can perform all the move sets and flexed them all impressively to showcase his understanding of different styles.
From the beginning, they exchanged light blows, literally by punching and kicking each other. The pace increased each day until they got the momentum from one another. Even with the heavy foam padding in her track suit, she can still feel the strong force whenever Desmond blocked the attacks or tried to hit her weak spots.
"Craters!" Zyra shouted as she blocked a kick on the side with her left leg. Another dodge from the hit to the face but left her stomach wide open for his next strike.
She was thrown back to the wall, making a small dent. Looking up to her opponent, Zyra smirked.
Despite the aches and pain all around her body, she is growing competent. Day after day, she got up early, went to class, undertaking space related exercises and trained with Desmond and his deadly spars.
Black and blue bruises decorated her body all throughout the weeks of training but she didn't mind it as long as it gave her the results she ever wanted.
Her once delicate facial features have begun to warp, her cheekbones becoming more prominent, piercing grey eyes if looks could kill. Her once soft arms and thighs are beginning to show signs of strong muscles. A fighter in the making.
It has been painstaking, horrible, soul crushing work. But she loved it.
Taking a deep breath, Zyra jumped out from the wall and ready her stance, "Again!"
