Chapter 14
Flabbergast
FOUND VEXON. I WILL DEAL WITH HIM. STALL ANYONE.
Desmond reluctantly accepts the command for the better of the objective.
The mere notion to be away from his master's side went against so many principles, let alone leaving her to face the Lord herself. Be rigid, he told himself. They trusted each other to have faith in the other's strength and he has his orders.
Stall anyone as silent and efficient as possible.
If only the unruly fellow with him would do the same and cease his foolish chatter.
"I got to hand it to you, buddy" Torque spoke in awe, "this whole spy working, moving around, is kind of tiring but exciting! I mean…you only get to see these things in the media and I'm living in one! How those Space Rangers do their job and the criminal's work of art to get into to high security buildings are all in the rage for us, you gotta keep a down low if you have stolen some stuff and not let the cops get on your trail. Like that one time…"
Vent in. Vent out. Be patient. Control your urge to maim. Fortunately enough, the hallway walls are thick, layered with metallic infused concrete that sounds barely passed through, making it sound proof but still the nonsense talk the fool is spitting out deeply irritates him.
He tried to shush the four-limbed alien to be quiet but to no avail.
The more he talks, there is a high probability of them being spotted or worst…getting captured. Desmond scoffs at the ridiculous idea. He had an impulse to just abandon the fool in the hallway and venture on his own but this action might give away their presence or give trouble to his master and so he kept Torque close to him…yet, Torque continues on and on…until…
"Hey, that reminds me. You're kind of a blunt fellow, so be honest with me here. Is she interested in taking another teammate?"
If Desmond had human eyes, they would go blank in a second. He immediately recovered and whirled around on Torque with a glare.
"What."
"Come on, bot man! With me on the team, we can take over any gangs in this whole planet," Torque said while flexing his muscles, "Wait till she sees me using these beauties. Those thugs won't know what hit 'em."
Oh this imbecile…is a dead man now. Several ideas came to mind on how to deal with this. Should he whack him with his fist for thinking about having any engagement with his master? Maybe he might just do it.
Just as he was about to follow through with the plan, his sensors picked up some frantic activity. He heightened them to maximum and pinpoint the source of the noise coming from the other end of this hallway. Without warning, he shoved Torque to the open room with a loud yelp and hid behind a pillar. Desmond observe silently as one of the shadows passed by and enter to another hallway.
Once the coast is clear, the cloaked fighting machine decided to pursue where the shadow went as Torque quickly scrambled out from the room and follow him from behind, fuming.
"What's the big idea, bot man?! You can't just –"
"Be Silent."
Desmond's harsh tone finally convinced Torque to immediately keep his mouth shut as the two walked down the path into another open space area. Few more steps deep into the hall and they come upon an opened two-door made of metal and Desmond take a look inside.
It was a large room full of biker gang members, all working on the network cables and cameras. Roughly around six people occupying the whole space. Footsteps shuffling around, dials turning and a whir of electricity through geared monitor stations.
No one else seemed to notice them by the doorway. They were all too busy being immersed in their tasks at hand. However, one cannot tell if their luck will soon run out, so Desmond signal Torque to follow him and silently heading over to the big crates for cover.
Peering over the corner side, Desmond watched intently as one of the bigger members approach an individual on the monitoring station. He overheard them talking.
"I've got here a list of people and offices our Lord will likely to see. You'll relay our comrades to monitor them. I want every detail. Wait for further instructions from me. Got it?"
"Yes, Sir!"
Judging from the way they set up the place, one could think that they are making an old fashioned information centre, an internalized spy networking. This got Desmond intrigued. Those files could be important and best to inform his master.
He briefly turn to Torque, who was busy admiring the hover bikes present in the room near the monitors.
"Wow. Get a load of those!" Torque exclaimed quietly, "Can't believe they have the MegaBoy 3000 Hover helmet!"
At least he knows how to keep his voice down low. Desmond thought as he sent his findings to his master through the communication link.
He hoped his master would checked over them soon, awaiting further orders.
Zyra could hear the notification pings ringing softly within her helmet but she couldn't manually access them as she kept her eyes focused on the small dark figure, most definitely male, hidden from where the light won't reach. It's hard to identify his silhouette.
She looked at him with a penetrating stare, making the small figure fidgeted in place. Like a flip of a switch, his whole demeanor changed to that of confidence.
"Who do you think you are storming into my office? I'll have you know that my minions are on their way here as we speak!"
Lie.
Anyone can be convinced that what he said is the truth because the way he holds himself up, no swallow or tremble in his voice, the perfect passive tone.
But she knew better.
Zyra surmise that he has a natural talent in spouting lies and maybe believe it himself wholly. She knew what he is doing. A distraction to keep her mind focus on him while he plot an escape. But the figure should know that she is not fond on playing along.
As soon as she saw him took a step back, Zyra swiftly levelled her left wrist guard at him while the other hand pushes a button to activate a deadly, highly charged laser ready to fire. This action sent the small figure in a panic fast.
"Oh h-ey hey n-now!" the mysterious figure spoke in fear, "No need for violence, man!"
Ha. So much for his bravado. Zyra scoff at his cowardice.
His real raspy voice, however, why does it strike a note of familiarity with her? Who had spoken like that of all people? Whatever it was, she has to deal with the present situation first.
"Stepped into the light. I don't want any funny business with you in the dark while we talked," Zyra demanded.
"Okay! But first power down that thing already!"
Still dubious, she did deactivate it but kept her weapon on stand-by within her cloak and gesture the figure forward.
The figure in the dark took a step, then another until he is completely in the light. When she take a good look at him, her eyes got big, surprised at who she was seeing.
Those crooked yellow teeth, the hunchback, the reddish orange hair which is slicked part ways and those signature rat-like snout are dead giveaway on who he is. The only difference from his original look is the choice of clothing. Simple black shirt and waist up dirt brown pants and high collared dressed shirt.
Seeing that her supposed adversary is not so much of a threat to her, Zyra quickly calmed down from her shock and spoke indifferently.
"Crumford…Lorak."
Crumford gulped at the confirmation, "I s-see you have heard of me…"
She could see his whole body shook in fear the moment she spoke his name.
"Who wouldn't? Everyone knows who you are in Trade World," Zyra said while viewing Desmond's message away from Crumford's prying eyes through her wrist guard, "People talk a lot about a young street hustler making a big name with a few infamous denizens."
While observing her enemy, she read the message fast on her internal screen.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. FILE RECORDS ON INTENDING TARGETS. FORMATION OF SPY NETWORKING.
With all these details combine, it all makes sense now. Those monitoring spots, the placement of thugs and spying on people, it was just another way for the guy to gather information without getting himself in danger. How clever.
But it is just an assumption, given this guy's background as an informant, there has to be more to it.
Of course, she had Gibbles gather files about Crumford few years back once he is stable living in Trade World.
Those documents reveal that Crumford was born as the runt of the litter and living under one roof with four other siblings and a single parent in one of the slum areas within the city.
People talk a lot about others behind their backs and a lot of rumors spreading around. One such gossip spoken from a neighbour who lived near them and said most of his family barely paid any attention to him, especially when most of the limelight goes to his older siblings who were more successful than him in scavenging.
Many speculate that jealousy made little Crumford ran away from home to start earning a living in the streets for himself. Con his way to the streets of Trade World and barely get condemned for it due to his slippery getaways. No one truly knows about his reason to take the infamous route.
Crumford is just one of many villain profiles to look out for. But who was she kidding. He is hardly a villain. Just a snitch in right situations, especially when it comes to his own benefits.
"But there's just one thing that I don't get."
After she sent the message to her loyal subordinate, Zyra trudged over to him and grabbed his shirt, hoisted him up to meet her face to face. His scared ratty face reflected on her visor as he tried to remove her hand from his shirt but soon realized she was far stronger and scarier up close.
Zyra didn't mind his struggling effort and continued to say, "As to why a conman like yourself playing pretend as a Crime Lord?"
VEXON: NON THREAT. GET THE FILES AND TERMINATE SYSTEM.
Desmond was delighted to receive a response. Another good indication that she has countered the Crime Lord and immediately subdued him. Now to carry out with the order and he formulate a quick, devious plan, which involves a certain fool.
Don't think you can get away from what you said earlier.
"Since you wanted to prove yourself, here's your chance." Desmond stated before raising his clawed hand towards Torque's back.
"Huh? What do you mean-"
With a strong shove, Desmond pushed him out the second time into the open. Torque was about to yell at him back but everything turned silent. Everyone in the room was staring at him. Seeing all eyes were on him, Torque scrambled to get up from the floor and put his hands up.
"Hey, fellas," Torque said nervously, "How's it going here?"
Then, sounds of laser weapons heating up fill the air while others grab theirs after standing abruptly from their seats.
"Oh crud," Torque cursed and immediately went for his weapon then ran for cover as lasers and energy blasts headed his way.
The commotion in the room kept on getting louder, keeping Desmond focused. He threw away his clothed cloak on the side and shroud himself in his coded camouflage, making him invisible. He run past some boxes and dodge a few stray lasers to get to a nearby monitor console while Torque was fending off some thugs in the showdown.
Torque was still kind of mad at what Desmond did to him, but he will never wimp out from a fight. He knows that he can handle these bozos if he wants to be strong like those two! One almost locked Torque in a chokehold but he easily threw off the attacker towards another and resumes his firing at the rest.
Desmond soon reached to one console and quickly wired a cable from his palm and jacked into the computer. All he needs is few minutes to get the job done as he began downloading. Data after data flowed through him, taking in on the important files and discard the junks.
A skinny snake biker took notice on one of the flashing monitors and he sighted on Desmond's outline form in front of it. He made a move to fire at the bipedal robot. Desmond spotted the thug from his peripheral vision and was about to take aim but Torque spotted the thug first and one shot the biker, blasting him to the wall.
"Ha! Save ya just in time, baby!" Torque shouted to Desmond gleefully before grabbing another laser gun from the ground then got back in action with the other five assailants.
With two weapons on him, Torque yelled confidently, "You chumps don't get what it takes to take on Torque!"
Desmond scoffed at the overconfidence the fool emits. He can fight that one measly thug easily but he soon perish the thought and paid more attention on what he had started. Once all the necessary files are in his hard drive, he planted a virus that would destroy the whole network system.
Flashes of violet static took over all the monitors in the room, the lights flickered on and off until the screens turn black forever. A couple of thugs were confused at what just happened before something grab their heads and slammed to one another.
Desmond deactivated his cloaking device after he dealt with the two and checked over to Torque. Torque is seen laying face up, almost out of breath, after dealing with the other three who were knocked out on the floor. Desmond approached the flour limbed alien and looked down.
"You…huff* huff*…should have given me the heads up," Torque exclaimed, totally exhausted, "I would have never thought to fight off six of 'em at the same time."
"Good job," Desmond said as he picked up his clothed cloak from the ground nearby. The cloak itself has some holes and singed at the edges but it would still be of use.
"That's it? After you put me through all this trouble and that's the thanks I get?"
"I'm sure there is something in this place that would compensate your time and energy," Desmond fixed the cloak around himself with ease and made a move towards one of the hover bikes, "Like this helmet you were eyeing on earlier."
Desmond grabbed the expensive helmet and throw it over to Torque, who quickly got up from the floor to catch it.
"Hey! Be careful with that!" Torque looked over the item in his hands, "This piece of beauty is still pretty new."
Desmond shook his head in disappointment, "If you are done admiring that piece, we must meet up with master," he said as he walked out the room, leaving Torque to chase after him.
It didn't take long for the rat man to spill out his secrets. Just a few threats of torture got him talking like his life depends on it. Literally.
This is what she learned so far.
Crumford needed extra hands to spy around Trade World, to grow his spy network empire and at the same time selling out information for profits. He needed Skullcap crew to do his dirty work and so he strike a deal with Mawnch and form an unlikely partnership with his disguise as Crime Lord Vexon.
They provide labor and protection while Crumford gets his daily pack full of information. He used a small portion from his earnings and funded the Skullcap crew to keep the relationship afloat.
However…
After a few mishaps with thugs almost founding out his true identity, he planned to severe the ship before it becomes worse…for him…which makes a lot sense…until both she and Desmond showed up.
Although those secrets are what she had expected initially, it leaves no satisfaction. Where is the hidden agendas with another organization or other devious practices? This is just the plain old cartoon spy style.
But she can't leave the place empty handed. Knowledge is power after all. With that in mind, Zyra tied up Crumford, gagged him with a cloth scrapped from his mannequin's cape dress and put him where she can see him.
She began her work around the big console along with the six monitor screens on the wall. Typing away data files stored in the computer desk while listening to Crumford trying in vain to get out of the bind, Zyra soon discover main spots that the spy cameras were focusing on.
Zyra opened a file and several images greeted her, buildings that cater social events, night clubs and space bars are mostly in it. Lots of mafia bosses and other under-the-radar villains are here with details on what they deal with. This attention to details really amazed her.
The next image was more familiar.
The Fixer chop shop in Dealer's Square.
It's the only place that sells rare and illegal spare robot parts within the market circle. And what a folder she discovered. The lists goes on and on, which citizen enters and exits the place as well as what items they purchased or order.
It doesn't matter if they are good, evil or in both worlds, as long as they are paying customers, the shop is open to any of them. Especially when few familiar names pop up in the list such as Lardak Lurdak and Rentwhistle Swack. Their purchase orders are mostly enhanced tech for weapons.
What makes it even more interesting is the fact these purchases were used in crimes or illegal hunting, which makes this is Grade-A blackmail material for her to use.
Without missing a beat, Zyra popped out a data chip from her utility belt and inserted it into the console, downloading all the contents. She could hear Crumford's whine in dismay that all his data is taken right in front of him. It was fast and done, she pull out the data chip and destroyed the console along with the monitors with her laser.
Bits and pieces of debris rained on Crumford as he cough through the smoke and stare in horror at the damage that befell on his set up once the smoke clears. Cracked screens, desk torn in half and wires spewing out from the ceilings.
Zyra wasn't sure what to do now since she got valuable information from this place. She looked at Crumford briefly and thought if she should turn him in to the proper authorities. Not that she will hand him over to Space Rangers in person. That's a terrible idea. But she can't keep him near them or Gibbles.
"What to do~ What to do with the rat~"
Her sing-song remarks made Crumford squirm in his place.
Soon footsteps were heard. Zyra turned around swiftly and aim her laser at the doorway. The noise stopped before the door and she heard a familiar word.
"Camarade"
Zyra recognize the code and smirked as she replied.
"L'associe"
Desmond entered first and she was surprised to see holes and singes at the end of his cloak.
"Looks like someone gave you a rough time," said Zyra as she walked towards Desmond.
Desmond eject a cable from his palm, ready to transfer huge amounts of data since it can't be done quickly with their cellular network link alone. She got the port end, link to her wrist guard and start the process while Torque notice Crumford on the floor near the wreckage of the monitor console.
"So who's the rat?"
Zyra lazily lift her hand and wave between the two of them.
"Torque. Meet Vexon or otherwise known as Crumford Lorak."
The four limbed alien was perplexed by what he just heard.
"Hold up. Are you saying that this is the big boss, the one running the place?"
Torque said as he knelt in front of the rat con man and his shrewd eyes locked on to the tied up rat man. Crumford was a little unnerve from the unwanted attention then…
"BAM!" Torque yelled as he slammed his upper hands together into a loud clap, making Crumford jumped at the sudden noise, almost giving him a heart attack. Torque bellowed in laughter at Crumford's reaction and carry on talking.
"He doesn't look that tough. Man, to think I was about to work under this loser. Good thing I bailed out in the last minute."
"Knocked it off, Torque," Zyra spoke as she finished up organizing the complete data files she recently obtained from Desmond.
"No promises." Torque stood up and dusting off his pants while adjusting his new helmet by the hip, "Not like he can leave any time soon."
Zyra eye rolled at Torque's remark then she heard a small sound from her device.
"Done," Zyra closed her wrist guard and signal Desmond to Crumford, "Will bring him with us. I still don't know what to do with him…yet"
Zyra thought of a plan to interrogate him further for more any information stashed away in his little brain before releasing him. She can always count on Gibbles to monitor Crumford's every move and if he decided to squeal about them to anyone...there will be consequences. She really liked that option.
Desmond nodded and grab Crumford by the collar, the rat con man tried to struggle to break free once he is lifted up from the floor.
They move out of the main office and headed out into the hallways when suddenly…
BAM! BAM!
The whole floor shook from the force, making everyone almost stumble in their feet but remain stable.
"What was that?" Torque asked.
Desmond survey the window near them and hid behind a pillar to take a look around, "I think it's coming from the front of the main building."
He searched the entire building from top to bottom until he saw flashes of a certain space ranger uniform sprinting through the ground floor.
"Space Rangers." Desmond said grimly.
"Oh man! You have got to be kidding me?!"
"I don't."
"Not funny, bot man" Torque grumbled at Desmond.
Zyra also took a glimpse by the window and it was true. There are a few Rangers searching the entire ground floor then heading up. These can't be a coincidence.
Is this one of those surprise bust raid operation from Star Command? Or…
Wait a minute. Zyra paused for a moment. There were no cameras when we enter the base, less people patrolling around the building…which means…
"We need to move. NOW!"
Desmond stopped his bickering with Torque and both of them followed Zyra from behind.
They hurried along through the hallway while keeping their eyes on the moving Space Rangers. Twist and turns in every corner but manage to find the hallway where they came from. She felt her way through the long narrow halls with hardened walls.
There she found the familiar spooky hallway and reaching out through the entrance door with a sigh of relief that they were able to get as far away as possible from the ranger's radar.
Once they catch their breath, Zyra immediately turn to Crumford with a heated glare.
"Crumford, you better start talking. I believe you left out something important from our little chat?"
Desmond brought Crumford up and remove the gag then lifting him forward to face his master.
Crumford coughs for a second and lick his lips before answering, "I m-may have…told a few p-eople about this place."
"And that would be the Space Rangers?"
Crumford nodded desperately.
"Let me take a guess here," said Zyra, "You sold out the Skullcap crew the moment you decided to end the partnership so that none of them will come and search for you once you successfully escaped while they will rot in prison."
"T-that's right. I much prefer keeping my l-life intact and do what I do best."
She shut her eyes to calm herself down. There's no time to waste with the rat since the Rangers are still around. They can't bring him near Gibbles' place either. So Zyra decided. She motion Desmond to release him. Desmond hesitated to follow the order but do as he was told. He immediately cut down the bind and dropped Crumford hard.
Crumford immediately sat rat up and checked over himself until he looked up in fear when Zyra is right in front of him.
"If I catch a whisper that someone is looking for us because of a certain rat," Zyra glared down at him, staring into his soul, "No matter what crevice you crawled into, I will find you. Do you understand?"
"Y-yes ma'am!" said Crumford anxiously as he got up, "N-not at all, ma'am! I never seen you lot here. I will say that I'm just strolling around the area and got out the usual. That was it."
"Good. Now, run along now and remember…"
Crumford stopped in his step and looked back at Zyra, fear evident in his eyes.
"I always keep my promises," she said menacingly. The trio saw Crumford scurry away to one of the narrow alleyways and soon disappear from their sight.
Torque whistled and spoke in a whisper, "Wow. That gave me the chills."
Both Desmond and Zyra head over to their hover bike and she spoke Torque in a loud whisper.
"Now come on. We need to keep moving."
By the time they got out of the place and rode in their respective vehicles, a raiding party was already left the building with several handcuffed thugs. Right outside the opened doors was a browned hair man, a senior Space Ranger, talking with the locals near the site.
"Thank you for your insight, ma'am," he turned around from the woman and face his fellow officers. He looked over the thugs at the side while he hears whispers from the gathering crowd outside the tape line.
"Is he?"
"I can't believe we get to see him, a member of Stellaris Luna team."
"He's a bit taller in person."
"Uh. I wish I can get his autograph."
Bronx Cossette, Senior Space Ranger and Former Team 42 Co-captain, now leading the raid investigation division. He ignore the chatter around and focused on his rangers. This is the tenth raid in a month which is successful and hopes that they keep a steady pace for a better future.
One ranger step forward and gave his report.
"Captain Cossette, sir! Thanks to the anonymous intel we receive, we manage to arrest most of the Skullcap crew, that includes the ones in WestKillerville."
"Good work, Ranger."
"Captain!"
A female ranger came out from the entrance and present Bronx a big tray of broken robot parts.
"What is it?"
"I think we found the remnants of the Crime Lord described from the anonymous tip."
True to her word, there is a ball shaped head with red markings and a cracked yellow lens, bits of the chassis and arms inside the tray. But no legs in sight. Very odd. Yet they all matched the description of the Crime Lord in this area.
"Where did you get these from?" Bronx asked.
"We found the pieces in a room that indicates his main office but everything is destroyed. Scorched up by highly levelled laser."
Another ranger came up with a theory.
"He must have erase the data files before he got obliterated or someone sabotage everything then end him. Though we weren't too sure if that is the case. None of the captured fiends know what happened to their supposed leader."
"That's rather unfortunate," Bronx said, "We still need to search the entire perimeter. There are way too many big shot wannabes in this entire sector and I don't want a single spot left unchecked."
"Yes, sir!"
As the rangers go on with their duties, Bronx looked at the thugs boarding the shuttle where they will be sent to PC-6 to serve jail time. One individual who is already inside the vehicle caught his attention. Mawnch, the leader of Skullcap, was sitting with his bow down, teeth seething in rage from being captured.
Records indicated that Mawnch was a studious, not so over-bright boy who would fully accepted that he would work for his father in an electrical shop. He had no incidents in his early childhood but after many years had passed, he became more inclined toward deviant behaviour then turn to the life of crime.
He had a bright future but now his life is behind bars.
If Captain Luna sees this, she would be heart-broken too. Bronx thought grimly. He felt sad that she had to retire so soon, but it is understandable, seeing that her home planet is in dire need of defence power. Her knighthood successor had gone missing and it is up to her to train the next one and at the same time look for her knight protégé.
And that Buzz Lightyear kid really made a huge change in Star Command and it made them proud to have him under their wing.
Buzz had once request Stellaris to take him with her to aid in find her missing kin but politely refuse, as Juran's policies regarding outsiders are strictly prohibited, despite being part of the Galactic Alliance, but she would have welcomed the help.
Probably one day, she will return to the call of duty. It's been a year but both he and Tobias really missed her so much.
The team may have split up, with Tobias taking up patrol duty in Capital Planet while he take the lead role of pursuing underground hideouts or bust raids, but they are still keeping in touch.
BEEP! BEEP!
Bronx checked his wrist guard and type in some codes to finalize the drone's scan of the entire area.
"All clear! Let's move out to the station!"
They had reached a flat, high section of the road, where the streetlight barely shines over. Zyra watched in full anticipation of her surroundings before they parked on the side, away from the eyes of the passer-bys. Torque had also slow down to a halt to avoid hitting each other and rolled his right arm a few times, pops were heard.
"That was a close one," Torque spoke, breaking the silence between the three, "I have never felt this adrenaline rush before in my entire life."
"I'm glad you're happy taking this little detour of a vacation." Zyra said as she patted on Torque's shoulder, "But now, I guess this is where we part ways."
"Aw really? I thought we were having fun!"
"Nothing is ever fun in this place," Zyra said sternly.
"Sheesh, you're a hard one to impress, baby. But that's what I like about you."
Zyra ignored the flattering multiple eyes at her but she could feel Desmond's eyes stare fiercely at the four limbed alien, who snickered at her robot companion.
"Chill, man." Torque flicked out a card from his side pocket towards Zyra who manage to grab it between her two fingers, "Here's my calling card, sweetheart. Keep me in touch if you need another muscle."
"Get moving, brat." Desmond utter angrily.
"Okay okay, bot man," Torque said with a smirk as he start to rev his engine, "'till next time!"
Torque sped away from the duo and gone the moment he took a turn. Desmond shook his head and preparing to turn on the engines.
"I hope we will never see him again."
"You may never know, Des," Zyra spoke in a matter of fact tone, "For now, we must be more vigilant than ever to avoid possible encounters with any Space Rangers. But that will prove to be difficult because the next stop where heading to will really raise the stakes high."
Who knows how long those Space Rangers will be staying in Trade World but she will not stick around to find out.
From what she knows from her history lessons, Star Command can't get an approval yet from the Council to have a small station for Space Rangers in Trade World for fear that the economy will be lessened since most of their clients are from rouge or criminal division.
But only time can tell when they can finally have it signed. There will be another time to explore Trade World more once she attained her goal in Capital Planet and thereafter.
"Inform Gibbles that we will be leaving Trade World immediately," Zyra said," and also tell him to keep an eye on Crumford and Torque's every move from here on out."
She secretly put a nano-bot trackers on both Crumford and Torque without them noticing. While she was tying up the rat con man, she slip the bot tracker under his collar flaps. As for Torque, Zyra put one when she patted on his shoulder, the nano-bot hid itself within his leather black shirt.
She sent the tracking signals to Gibbles before they drove through the night to the colourful part of the city.
Once they arrive at their cruiser, observing around for anyone spying before they boarded the ship. In the brig, Zyra finally takes off her helmet and slunk herself down on her chair, breathing out in relief.
"What an adventure, Am I right, Des?"
Desmond didn't respond for a little while and Zyra was getting a bit worried. She looked over to her partner across her, who already sat on his pilot seat but he stare motionless at the screen.
"Des?"
"…Master…we have a problem."
He brought up an alert warning file and put it up on the big screen. It was a message alert notification box. Desmond slowly clicks on it and a bold statement appeared.
YOU HAVE 20 MISSED CALLS
Zyra almost crushed the arm-rest of the chair once she saw the caller's name.
FATHER
She can't help but cursed aloud, "Ah Craters!"
