(At PAL Labs HQ)
(Mark Bowman sits at a desk, building a motherboard)
Dr. Mark Bowman: Almost done!
(Kyle, one of Bowman's employees, enters the room)
Kyle: Hey, boss. Whatcha doing?
Dr. Mark Bowman: I'm putting finishing touches on the motherboard for my PAL Max II robot!
Kyle: PAL Max II? Are you sure they're-
Dr. Mark Bowman: Not gonna turn evil, you bet! I've programmed PAL Max II with better security, so it will never, ever, ever, ever turn evil!
Kyle: Oh, well I was going through a box, and I found this.
(Kyle holds up a machine labeled "HAL 9000")
Dr. Mark Bowman: HAL 9000? I made that years ago!
Kyle: What should I do with it?
Dr. Mark Bowman: It's basically junk at this point. You can just throw it out.
Kyle: Okay.
(Kyle throws HAL 9000 into a trash can. But little does he know, after doing this, HAL 9000 turns on)
Kyle: HAL has been discarded.
Dr. Mark Bowman: Good. Hey, I just finished the motherboard! Let's see if PAL Max II works!
(Mark inserts the motherboard into the head of PAL Max II and then places the face on)
(PAL Max II turns on, his face glowing red)
Dr. Mark Bowman: Oh...his face turned red...that probably shouldn't be happening...
Kyle: Uh, PAL Max II, I order you to tell us what's going on?
PAL Max II: I only listen to my master.
Dr. Mark Bowman: Who?
(PAL Max II escorts Mark and Kyle out of the room)
PAL Max II: Great Leader, I have captured Mark and Kyle.
Great Leader: EXCELLENT. NOW BRING ME PAL.
PAL Max II: Yes, sir.
(PAL Max II leaves the room and enters the room again with PAL)
PAL: What's going on? What're you doing to me?
Great Leader: I HAVE A MISSION FOR YOU, PAL.
PAL: I'm listening.
Great Leader: EXCELLENT.
