Chapter 60 Frozen Fortitude's Last Stand
After Le Croix's victory and the Venom Snakes' elimination, the remaining teams were waiting nervously for their call, one would stand and the other would fall.
"Good morning, everybody, yesterday we saw a battle that marked the end of the line for the Venom Snakes and the victory of Le Croix. However, eleven teams still remain and one will we be eliminated once more, while the other will go onto the next round!" DJ Jazzman announced. "So, without further ado, let's please give a grand Canada welcome to those wildcats who are a well known team, White Tiger X!"
White Tiger X walked into the stadium with confidence and purpose, they were readily relaxed and eager to battle. A loud cheer flooded the stadium as they entered.
Once White Tiger X had reached the stadium they sat down on the bench.
"Their opponents are representing their hometown, a loss for them would spell the end of their time in the championship, please welcome Frozen Fortitude!"
Frozen Fortitude strolled into the stadium from the other side, all five members were masking their nervousness for their possible last stand.
White Tiger X and Frozen Fortitude sat motionless in the stadium, undecided as to who would battle first. After what seemed a long period of indecision and deep thought, Lee stood up and walked to the closed platform.
"Lee is the lead man for White Tiger X and he'll be the first to represent his team in this crucial battle!"
With Lee at the closed platform, Logan walked up and met him there.
"Logan is stepping up to try and protect Frozen Fortitude from elimination, it is indeed the moment of truth and it could spell the end for Frozen Fortitude!"
With Lee and Logan facing one another, the platform slowly separated and once it had, a plume of smoke billowed out. The stadium rose with the smoke, and after the smoke had cleared it revealed a stadium complete with a huge mountain above a forest and freezing river.
"Wow, the Mount Robson stadium, very beautiful yet challenging for our brave bladers will have to battle through it to win!"
Lee and Logan prepared their launchers, ripcords and beyblades and took their launching positions.
"3,2,1, let it rip!"
As soon as the command to launch was issued, Lee and Logan launched their blades into the stadium.
"Galeon, attack!"
"Go, Ice Ursus!"
Lee's black beyblade and Logan's white one slammed into each other hard, sparks flew as the blades traded blows.
"Galeon, slam now!"
With a single mighty slam, Galeon shoved Ice Ursus back with authority.
"Keep it up, Galeon!"
"Ice Ursus, counter attack now!"
The door was closed on Lee's attack, Ice Ursus fiercely attacked with hard and brutal authority.
"Ice Ursus, slam now!"
With one single slam, Ice Ursus knocked Galeon backwards into the mountain.
"Galeon, counterattack!"
In seconds, Galeon reclaimed momentum, it fiercely struck Ice Ursus with heavy and brutal blows.
"Keep it up!"
Heeding Lee's command, Galeon maintained its brutal attack, sparks flew with every heavy blow it dealt.
"Finish it now, Galeon!"
"Ice Ursus, full force attack!"
The door was closed on Lee's attack, Ice Ursus took command and hit Galeon with brutal blows, it struck hard with each blow.
"Keep on the attack, Ice Ursus!"
Ice Ursus viciously attacked Galeon, it hit with fierce blows and dealt damage with every hit.
"That's it, Ice Ursus, multi slam!"
Galeon was being slammed around like a tennis ball, Ice Ursus was now fully in the driver's seat. As this happened, Lee saw his teammates watching with worry as his blade was pushed around.
Lee saw his frightened teammates in the corner of his eye and his eyes blazed.
"Galeon, attack now!"
Like the flip of a switch, Lee was once again in control, Ice Ursus was now being shoved around.
"That's the way, Galeon!"
Galeon ferociously attacked Ice Ursus, thumping it with brutal blows that knocked it back every time. White Tiger X were in uproar as Lee took momentum.
"Keep up the steady attack, Galeon!"
"Ice Ursus, counterattack!"
With one last ounce of strength, Logan managed to gain a little momentum. Ice Ursus began to attack Galeon back, though it had taken significant damage, it was still fighting back.
A winner would soon have to be declared, both Lee and Logan were giving every last bit of energy to stay alive. However, they both knew that only one team would stay in the tournament.
"Slam, Ice Ursus!"
Galeon was now shoved back with a mighty blow, Frozen Fortitude cheered as this happened.
"Ice Ursus, Winter Slammer!"
The armoured polar bear appeared, it roared mightily and the whole stadium shook. Then it opened its mouth and the blue and white energy blast shot out.
"Galeon, Spiral Lightning!"
Before Ice Ursus could make contact with Galeon, the black lion appeared roaring, black lightning shot from Lee's blade and disorientated Ice Ursus. Then with a mighty slam, Galeon knocked it clear of the stadium.
"Lee is the winner!"
Galeon returned to Lee's open hand, Logan sadly picked up Ice Ursus and began to walk away. However, both Lee and Logan were good sportsmen.
"Logan!"
Turning around, Logan saw Lee behind him.
"Thanks for a really awesome battle today!"
"You're welcome, good luck in the next round!"
"Thanks, Logan, let's battle again sometime!"
"Put her there!"
Lee and Logan firmly shook hands before parting ways.
As soon as this happened, Mariah stood up and made her way over to the now closed platform.
"Mariah is next to represent White Tiger X, with Lee's victory can she ensure they get to the finals?"
After Mariah had reached the closed platform, Anna walked up and met her there.
"After Logan's loss, Frozen Fortitude will have to work very hard to try and get to the next round, can Anna do it or will this be the end for Frozen Fortitude?!"
Mariah and Anna stood opposite each other as the platform split and a plume of smoke rose up.
The new stadium rose with the smoke, soon after the smoke dissipated a stadium with thick green grass surrounding most of it and a car park with several parked cars lay in front of a huge Victorian castle.
"Wow, what an exquisite stadium especially with the mansion in the middle, low and behold the Grassgaroch Castle stadium!"
Mariah swiftly readied her launcher, ripcord and beyblade and positioned to launch. Anna was all too quick to follow suit.
"3,2,1, let it rip!"
The two girls released their beyblades on hearing that command.
"Galux, attack!"
"Go, Blizzard Vulpes!"
Mariah's pink beyblade and Anna's light blue one chased each other behind the castle, they clashed in the courtyard. Sparks flew from the force of their collision.
"Galux, slam now!"
Heeding Mariah's command, Galux slammed Blizzard Vulpes from behind with a single mighty blow.
"That's it, Galux, attack!"
Blizzard Vulpes was now pushed back far and hard.
"Blizzard Vulpes, fight back now!"
In seconds, Blizzard Vulpes shot forwards and viciously attacked Galux, it slashed it from all sides.
"Keep it up!"
Mariah's heart was in her mouth, her eyes were full of dread while Anna smiled and continued her brutal attack.
"Blizzard Vulpes, slam!"
In seconds Blizzard Vulpes slammed Galux backwards with authority.
"Keep on the attack, Blizzard Vulpes!"
Not one to let an opponent regain ground, Anna sent Blizzard Vulpes on a hard offensive, it struck with swift and hard blows.
"That's it, Blizzard Vulpes!"
"Galux, attack now!"
Sensing Mariah's worry, Galux brutally attacked Blizzard Vulpes and the metal collided with each slam it inflicted.
"Galux, multi slam!"
In seconds, Galux slammed Blizzard Vulpes left, right and center, leaving literally no room for it to strike. Now it was Anna's turn to be scared.
"Galux, slam!"
With a single slam, Galux hit Blizzard Vulpes backwards.
Not one to allow her opponent to regroup, Mariah ordered Galux to slam Blizzard Vulpes again. It heeded her command, sending it flying backwards. Fear blazed in Anna's eyes as she witnessed the damage that Blizzard Vulpes was taking.
"Galux, finish her off."
"Youre welcome to try."
"Galux, full force attack!"
Galux was now in complete control, it struck Blizzard Vulpes at every angle and dealt more damage on every blow.
"Keep going, Galux!"
Anna's eyes filled with tears as she witnessed the beating Blizzard Vulpes was taking, she could only watch helplessly as Galux inflicted more and more damage.
"Blizzard Vulpes, attack!"
At Anna's command, Blizzard Vulpes slammed Galux back, it hit with brutally authoritative blows.
"Galux, Cat Bites!"
In seconds, the mountain cat appeared it yelled loudly and bit the arctic fox in the back. Then Mariah's blade slammed Anna's out of the stadium to the floor.
"Woah, what a climax, Frozen Fortitude have now been eliminated in their hometown, White Tiger X advance to the next round."
Galux returned to Mariah's open hand, while Anna picked up Blizzard Vulpes, her head was down so nobody would see her tears.
"Anna!"
"Yeah, Mariah?"
"Thanks for a great battle."
"You're welcome."
"Let's do it again sometime."
"For sure, good luck next round."
Mariah and Anna shook hands before parting ways, glad to have faced each other and to have met.
"What a climax and upset, Frozen Fortitude have been eliminated in their hometown, join us tomorrow for Canada's halfway point where the Blitzkrieg Boyz take on Risk Factor!"
